"Chawki likes Karam for Lebanese-style sandwiches, which are served wrapped in flatbread, stuffed with pickles, and drizzled with a pungent garlic sauce that perfectly compliments the richness of Karam’s shawarma. The falafel balls here are crisp, fluffy, and fragrant with cumin and garlic, and the rice pilaf that’s served with the platter is memorable in its own right. In the front of the restaurant, you’ll see a rotisserie oven spinning whole chickens and a display of za’atar pies and lahmajeen—sometimes referred to as “Lebanese pizza.”" - carina finn koeppicus

"Come to Karam for Lebanese-style sandwiches, which are served wrapped in flatbread, stuffed with pickles, and drizzled with a pungent garlic sauce that perfectly compliments the richness of Karam’s shawarma. The falafel balls here are crisp, fluffy, and fragrant with cumin and garlic, and the rice pilaf that’s served with the platter is memorable in its own right. In the front of the restaurant, you’ll see a rotisserie oven spinning whole chickens and a display of za’atar pies and lahmajeen—sometimes referred to as “Lebanese pizza.” Food Rundown Falafel Sandwich The falafel here are made with chickpeas, fava beans, and sesame, and they’re heavily scented with garlic, onion, and cumin. You can order them by the dozen, but they pair especially well with lightly charred flatbread and pickles. Mixed Shawarma Sandwich It will be impossible not to stop and stare at the spits of roasting shawarma when you walk into Karam, and this sandwich offers you the opportunity to try a little bit of each. The pickled turnip, which is dyed neon fuschia, is a particularly nice addition. Zaatar Pie Like a Lebanese pizza with no sauce or cheese, just olive oil and all the good stuff (AKA za’atar). This is only $3, and it’s a great standalone snack or accompaniment to anything else on the menu." - Carina Finn

"Some Lebanese restaurants in town have been sanitized of the offal that is so popular in that part of the world, but not Karam. With an informal ambiance and counter that extends the entire depth of the place, plus a small dining room in the next storefront (no waiter service), it’s an ideal destination for a dash-in falafel, shawarma sandwich, or complete feast. Maybe choose a brain, tongue, or liver sandwich, or one of the topped flatbreads cooked in its pizza oven. Plenty to chose from here at reasonable prices for the neighborhood." - Robert Sietsema

I just want to say thank you! food was so delicious especially the chicken shawarma !!! Staff is extremely friendly. Atmosphere is great! One of my absolute favorite restaurants in Brooklyn for a nice dinner.

Google
Staff very pleasant. Food super tasty. Tried shawarma, kishik, humos , all taste from another world. The sweet mafrouki with pistachio only at Karam restaurant is very very delicious and the best i ever tasted.

Google
The restaurant in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn has Lebanese/Mediterranean food. I ordered the zaatar pie, shawarma combination with a small salad, fried cauliflower and lentils. The food was average in taste. The portion size was average. The restaurant has two separate sections-one is for takeout and the second is for dining in. However, if you dine in they call you that your food is ready. The customer is expected to pick up the food and then take a seat at an available table. Customer service could use an upgrade. Workers handling food wash your hands after touching and wiping face.

Came here for lunch and got a falafel sandwich. It was delicious, and the workers were so hospitable and friendly ☺️ the atmosphere in the dining area was very nice too. Will come again!

Google
Cannot recommend this place nearly enough! It’s a hole in the wall that’s been at the top of the Lebanese list of best flavors since forever, with the most delicious sandwiches and plates that you can either enjoy in their tiny dining spot or order for takeout. But what was even more impressive was their catering service that I tried for the first time earlier this month. Outstanding on all fronts, from the seamless menu building and pricing with Shawki, to the spotless delivery and beautiful buffet of authentic cold and hot mezze staples along with the warming mains that they set up themselves, to the generosity and quality of the dishes! On top of the perfectly seasoned hummus babaghannouj tabbouleh fattouch and cheese rekakat, crowd favorites were the vegan eggplant toasted nuts makloubeh rice, and the chicken taouk skewers for the meat eaters. Their gigantic servings of fresh fruit salad and sweet cheese dessert (halewet el jebn) were perfection!! We had so much food, every guest left with full bellies carrying out their own leftover platters! Happiness galore!

Google
I had an amazing meal at Karam Restaurant The shawarma was so tasty and full of flavor, and the shish was perfectly grilled and juicy. The food was fresh, and the staff was very friendly. I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves great food!”

Google
Idk why this place has 4 stars! THIS PLACE IS 5 STARS! AMAZING LEBANESE FOOD. I recommend the roasted chicken with the rice and garlic sauce OMG amazing ! If you are getting a small plate- get the grilled chicken kebab with the garlic sauce and pita bread on the side. This place has been around before I was even born ! You will not be disappointed!

Google
The best spot in Brooklyn 🥇, Always my destination when I’m starving 🤤 The staff are so friendly and generous, The food is so tasty Highly recommend ❤️❤️

Yelp
Over the top exceptional quality and service! My wife and I went in here for lunch recently for the first time and the prices are excellent very fair not very high and the food quality was over the top and portions were very large. Definitely recommend this place and from what I can see this is a five star restaurant as far as reviews are concerned

Christina V.

Yelp
My family has been ordering from here since I was a kid. Of course delicious middle eastern food. Always fresh , always good not matter what you get !

Alex N.

Yelp
Karam is one restaurant that i live stopping at for a late dinner. I usually get a beef or a lamb kebab with some pita and a side of tabbouleh. So good. Or other times I get the half chicken that is also good. I had to wait a bit for it but it was cooked fresh on the spot so it's worth it. They have some dine in seating inside too. It's a cozy place to sit eat and enjoy your meal at.

Jake C.

Yelp
Excellent, fresh consistent food, fair priced everything is made in house- the staff is great - service is good it's really take out and the place is nicer now they redid it and it's very clean and fixed up. Highly recommend for take out

Liza B.

Yelp
Again!! Another great experience here! Got mixed cold appetizers and a huge Tabouleh. Great service, food, service. Take out and eat in. . If you are local or far away, it's worth the trip! I also got an interesting apricot dessert

Yelp
It is loud, busy, and no time for greeting here. Those are the precursors to some eventual good food. It is literally crammed like a sardine tin can in here but the smell of the Shawarma can make you overlook that part. The halal street carts that are situated on 86th Street are definitely popular in the neighborhood, but if you have time and a few extra bucks for a real authentic Middle Eastern meal, Karam is your best bet. For the meat portion they provide and the sides that accompany it, the pricing is reasonable. I always go with lamb and with the sides, you will realize the meal is probably meant for two people. I believe their platters come with hummus and pita, and a sizeable portion of yellow rice. OVerall, fantastic meal and tremendously filling for.

Yelp
My first time back in a few years, but this place hits the spot every time. We ordered the half chicken plate with garlic and pickles, and a kofta sandwich with a side of fries. Everything came out in about 10-15 minutes, but they forgot the fries lol. Chicken was tender, moist and crispy skinned. The fluffy garlic sauce is not as eye wateringly sharp as I recall but still yummy. Pickled jalapeños and turnips added a nice crunch. The kofta sandwich was juicy, loaded with sauce, pickles, lettuce and tomato and onion salad. Overall a really delicious filling and quick dinner spot.

James P.

Yelp
Was a long time customer .. In the last few years their price of the half chicken meal plus 2 sides has gone from $10 to now almost $20. Have they lost their minds! Meanwhile you can get a whole chicken meal at other places for $20 or $5 at Costco/BJs! Prices were already inflated last year now another hike. Customers have limits.

Dominique N.

Yelp
My husband has walked by this restaurant for years, and we finally made the decision to try it last week. It is always busy and has a few people waiting at the counter. And now we know why! It's fantastic food at a fair price. We had the mixed grill (chicken and lamb shawarma ) with rice and babaganoush. The meat was tender and well seasoned, one of the best shawarma in Brooklyn! The dipping sauces are super flavorful and strong; use a little of the garlic dipping sauce, it's potent! We also tried the spinach pie, it was pretty good but we will try other flavors next time. They have numerous Lebanese pastries too, they all looked tasty. There is seating across from the counter for a comfy casual meal, too. Overall, a great place for a quick bite!

Alia N.

Yelp
So good! The best shawarma I have ever had ! There Turkish style meat pies are amazing as well! Definitely my stop when I visit the city.

Yelp
Karam is a popular Middle Eastern restaurant in our neighborhood that we've always avoided trying because we figured we already had the best from Ayat. We always thought it was just a takeout spot, there is actually a tiny dining room with a few tables. We popped in on a Friday night and seemed to walk straight into the dinner rush. It was so busy we had to wait ~20 mins for our order. We got a $22 large mixed Shawarma platter and a small tray of mix baklava to go. Our platter surprisingly came with a complementary side of pitas and hummus. Once we got home and opened it up, we quickly saw that it was worth the price. It's definitely enough food to feed 2 people with some to spare. Everything tasted amazing. The beef and chicken had some charred, roasted flavor, yet were somehow still moist. The rice, meat, tzatziki combo in every bite was enough to sate my ravenous hunger. I liked how the platter came with some pickled radishes and jalapenos as a refresher. Every bite of the food made my mouth water more in enjoyment. Although I certainly stuffed myself, I didn't feel gross afterwards because the food wasn't as greasy as Halal food usually is. I can definitely see why Karam is so popular. It will now be my go-to for a grab and go Middle Eastern meal!

Yelp
Sweet Jesus this place is good. Best lamb shawarma I have ever had. Good service and great vibes at Karam Restaurant in Brooklyn, New York.

Yelp
Got recommended this spot by a friend. We were in Bay Ridge, which is very far trip for both of us. She insisted we pass on by here and try the chicken. She said the whole menu was on point, but the chicken needed to happen. I didn't protest in the least bit. We got in and the smells overwhelmed me right away. Loved everything I was taking in. Finally got our chicken along with pickled jalapeños and pita (which I could not have) and we went to town. Without a doubt the best rotisserie chicken I've had in a while. Now, it's easy to dismiss chicken in almost any form when you go out to eat (maybe it's hard to ignore it when its in its most glorious state of chicken parm), but I've been on a quest as of late to try chicken dishes regardless of where I go. Whether it be "fine dining" or a no-frills hole in the wall. And this is hands down an impressive whole rotisserie chicken. The skin is brimming with seasoning & spices and the chicken itself is incredible juicy and tender. Some places can brag about how good their skin is & yet sell you some dry a*s chicken. This place does not do that. At all. This is a straight up delicious, glorious, rotisserie chicken. The toume (Lebanese garlic sauce) that comes with it is f*cking fantastic. You give me a mason jar full of that and I'm in heaven. Absolutely delicious. I mentioned above that I had to skip the pita, but the smell of the freshly baked bread was so much for me to endure I almost broke and had a buncha pieces (I'll save it for next time). This spot is a must go-to and I can't wait till I'm back here again to try the rest of the menu.

Yelp
Amazing middle eastern spot in the heart of bay ridge . Chicken shwarma is amazing , grilled chicken is delicious !! Ahmed and foud were such a great host !!

Suzanne R.

Yelp
Take out mid eastern extraordinary food. So fresh and delicious . More a take out place than eat in . Small dining room has no ambience . Portions are generous and fair priced . Food can be extremely spicy. ,so if you are adventurous to try something new , ask for a small taste to err on the side of caution ! There is no waiter service , you order at counter .

Blessings I.

Yelp
Been here a few times. Food tastes ok. Nothing spectacular. Would go here again as my last option.

ANGELA D.

Yelp
This is the second time I've gone here ordered the chicken livers which I had to spit out. They were mealy horrible.!!!! Soup ok disappointed everything went in the garbage, except for the soup

Jackie S.

Yelp
Two words: chicken sandwich. That's it. SO. FREAKING. GOOD. Transported me right back to an Israeli shuk. That's when you know it's legit. Authentic AF.

Ahmed A.

Yelp
Bad and unhealthy food. The temperature inside the place helps spoil the food. My wife had intestinal cramps as soon as she ate shawarma. If you look at my kebab order, it's like human excrement. The taste of kebab is bad. It's something else that I don't know and I've never seen it before. They rely on the geographical location of the place to collect money regardless of people's health.

Irene L.

Yelp
Come hungry here. The portions are a descent size and the food here taste delicious. I ordered the lamb and beef plate for $20 and the mixed combo for $25 and it has the grape leaves with lamb and rice inside along with the Babaghanouj. The regular plate had the pickles which I love. They should of add that to both plates. The lamb meat was flavorful and juicy. They also have the yogurt sauce on the side. The pita bread wasn't good though as it tasted old. But I will definitely be back and order the mixed plates again. Service was good. And the last two times I been here there was a line so order in advance for pick up.

Cindy C.

Yelp
5 stars just for the absolutely amazing food! We literally just moved here yesterday and I was craving some really good shawarma a d this place looked like it might deliver so we decided to check it out. Starting off, just looking through the window I knew I was going to like the food. They had 2 of the vertical rotisseries of meat going as well as some whole chicken's roasting. They had a case full of different savory pies, including my favorite, za'atar. Employees were polite but straight to the point which I really appreciated. Hubby and I both got the beef shawarma wrap and a za'atar pie to share. I was back in the Middle East with my first bite of food. The flatbread was soft and perfect and the toppings and fillings were so flavorful and delicious, I seriously wanted to cry. Been in New York about 24 hours and we already have a go to place.

Yelp
Today I went in to order TAKEOUT before heading back home. I ordered two small plates of chicken over rice. Come time to pay, there was no option to give no tip, so I crossed out all the tip options to express that I did not want to tip. When the guy took back the screen, he claimed "oh let me see what you did" and proceeded to give HIMSELF a tip. My frustration with this is that I felt targeted by him as a Latina woman. From when I first came into the restaurant, he spoke to me in a condescending voice and made me feel like I did not know how to order my food. I truly feel like I was taken advantage of for being woman and a Latina woman at that. My experience was distasteful and I am saddened to write this review because I used to come all the time with my children and recently passed Arab husband. It's unfortunate to say that if he was there with me today, I would have been treated with greater customer service.

Nora A.

Yelp
Let's start off with the amazing customer service. Very friendly staff and had lots of patience with me (it was my first time here so it took me some time to order). Ordered 3 sandwiches and 1 za'-atar pie. It took about 15 minutes for everything to be ready. I had the shawarma mix (chicken and lamb/beef) sandwich with garlic sauce instead of tahini. It was delicious and very filling (I think one is good enough to fill you up). So far this is one of my favorite places for shawarma. I tried the za'atar pie, it was ok because it wasn't really fresh (it had been sitting there for I don't know how long and they just heated it up for me). The pie was a bit hard so wish they would offer it but if it was done to order. Prices? Affordable. Sandwiches I believe start at around $10 Due to covid they are only offering take out. I do wish all the customers would be a little more thoughtful and wear their mask when picking up their food. Would recommend the staff to inform the customers to please return with their masks. Overall would definitely recommend this place. Great thing is that they are open late in case you decide you want to eat a late meal. Definitely get garlic sauce on whatever you order (it's strong but so good!)

Heather M.

Yelp
The meat platter is my go to with garlic sauce and Lima beans with lemon and parsley. It's always consistent and soooo good. I never eat there just take out

Bom P.

Yelp
Half chicken is very good Garlic sauce is amazing !!!!!!!! Pizza is very good The spot looks nice So yummmmy

Mitasha P.

Yelp
I called ahead to make an order for 4 shawarma sandwiches ($11 each) and 2 small shawarma platters, which comes with rice ($14 each). Firstly, the lamb was dry and flavorless. Everything was poorly seasoned and therefore, bland. The platter came with rice that was just plain white rice - not basmati for pulao like most middle eastern restaurants offer. For one thing, the prices has been increased due to the pandemic, which I understand. However, the man on the phone was annoyed when I inquired about the $5 off $35 purchase discount online. He said that that offer was no longer available. You would think they would honor it since they seem too lazy to take it down/update their website. Instead, he asked if I still wanted the order and when I said yes, he hung up right away. Overall, rude service and bland food. Personally, I think the other restaurants around are much better in both price, service, and food.

Bill H.

Yelp
I usually like their food , But today it was just okay and the service was terrible . My lunch was ready 10 mins and it sat their on the counter while a strange man was talking into my lunch . It gets crowded for take out , But I am a middle eastern foodie so i may return or find another place. Dissatisfaction

Asia O.

Yelp
My fav Lebanese spot in BK by far. The food is amazing and orders are made fairly quickly too. Everything is so fresh and made with care.

Jenny J.

Yelp
I ordered from Karam on GrubHub 1 hr 10 min ahead of time, because the food looked good and was at a very good price. However, when 12:15 pm rolled around, no food arrived. I called them every 15 min starting around 12:20 pm, and each time, they sounded annoyed on the phone and told me the driver was almost there. At 1:15 pm, an houR after my scheduled delivery time, they told me that they were very sorry and the fax with my order just now came out. To compensate, they gave me a few desserts, and my food finally arrive 1:35 pm. I would give them benefit of the doubt, but it didn't sound like they were trying to understand the situation and the English communication was poor. I don't know if it was a mistake on GrubHub's end, but I wish they had real-time order tracking like UberEats does. As for the food, it was really good, and the instructions were followed. No utensils and my falafel sandwich ($7) came with no onions. The flavors were done well too. The free desserts we got were baklava and basbousa I believe. I like them, just only in small amounts, because they are always too sweet--regardless of where they're from.

Farida E.

Yelp
The food is amazing here The restaurant owners are so nice and welcoming and the food is always served on time. The atmosphere of the place and the seating is clean and well put together The people are always clean and and always have a bright attitude to serve food

Sara E.

Yelp
I forget how good the food is here. The chicken shawarma is top notch, the chicken is juicy and crispy at the same time. The baba ganoush is I think the best in Brooklyn. The falafel have a good mix of herbs, crisp and cooked all the way through. I also recommend their hummus and their manaeesh.

Theresa F.

Yelp
The service here is great for orders to go, asked a lot about switching the sides and was helped. The chicken is delicious and fat from dry. There is a lot of robust flavor in this plate and a large amount of food. I really enjoyed this dinner and would recommend anyone to come. The perfect place for pickup or delivery when you don't want to cook.

Tom F.

Yelp
I been here before, but never reviewed them. I have to say that their sandwiches are incredibly tasty, a great combination of spices and herbs is great, I had the chicken shawarma, so delicious!

Sandra G.

Yelp
I love this restaurant!!! The staff are always pleasant. I usually call in advance to order because it takes time and sometimes there's a wait. But it's worth every dime and time spent! From time to time i will come and bring a friend or share this restaurant often!

Farhan A.

Yelp
I have been coming here since the mid 90's. Still the best Shawarma I have ever had. It really feels like home when visiting here.

Alicia D.

Yelp
Amazing Always # 1 Food is.authentic Swarma amazing Grape leaves no meat my fav Late night delivery

Armaan D.

Yelp
absolutely so good! you got to come. i need to come back for more food, so yummy yummy

Lolin L.

Yelp
I've been a long time fan of Karam. They are my go to for a chicken shawarma sandwich. Their tahini or garlic sauce (not sure which sauce is in the sandwich) has a very strong flavor, the taste will linger in your mouth for a while, so be prepared for that. The large chicken shawarma plate which comes with two cold appetizers whereas the small is just the chicken with rice or salad is very filling. They are very generous with their portions. We ordered for pick up recently, they called when they had a question about the order and it was ready for pick up in time. I love their babaghanoush, I would probably choose this over their hummus (which is also good). Definitely a decent amount of food you get for the price. Their kibbeh balls are very flavorful. Their falafels are a good size but I do find them on the drier side. Definitely a good spot in the neighborhood, they never disappoint.

Rania A.

Yelp
Food has been downgraded recently compared to what it was in the past. Definitely will not be returning

Megan C.

Yelp
Best Everything // Nice Seating Famous Shawarma // Vegan Friendly If it's on the menu here, it's good. You can even order an entire Chicken to go (made tacos from the chicken here once... good move). Have some friends who live in the neighborhood, and each of them have seem to found their way here to Karam at some point. The Falafel sandwich is perfect, I suggest adding a scoop of a topping to it if you like tabouleh or hummus. The Pies here are excellent, have had all of them and would go out of my way . The shop expanded from order only to dine in, with comfortable seating and a rest room. The Scene: Delicious, Casual, Lebanese Destination Rating: 8 Date Rating: 6 Hob Nob Potential: N/A Strong Suggestion: Order extra to take home.

Marissa L.

Yelp
Karam is a great spot for Lebanese food. I've never actually been to their physical location, but we've ordered delivery from them a bunch of times. No complaints - delivery has been on time, the portion sizes are quite generous, prices are reasonable, and the food has been fresh and flavorful. We've tried a bunch of different things on the menu so far. My favorites have been the zaatar pie, the hummus and eggplant salad appetizers, and the combo dishes. The combos are great because you get your choice of main, plus 2 appetizers, and either rice or salad (which is more than just lettuce, but also lots of tomatoes, parsley, and sumac onions). It's a lot of food for about $15. I've mostly stuck with chicken (shawarma or shish taouk) or falafel and been happy with the choices. The sandwiches are also good, very large, and unsurprisingly a little bit messy to eat because they're so stuffed. Another thing that I absolutely love about Lebanese cuisine is their liberal use of garlic, and while several items at Karam already come with garlic sauce, you can also get a side of garlic sauce for $1. That stuff is so good, and I put it on everything. For $1, that's a pretty great add-on.

Amy H.

Yelp
I've been coming here for years and this is my go to when I'm in Bay Ridge. I ordered the chicken shawarma and the shawarma sandwiches...all I can say is flavor bomb! So good and made with love.

Jon B.

Yelp
A friend of mine brought me here for some Shawarma and general middle eastern food. Firstly, it may look unassuming but both the service and food was fabulous ! Had a Shawarma sandwich with falafel and hummus z, etc - absolutely delicious and best I've had in NY . The service is very friendly and the place is very traditional. Definitely worth the trip - sorry no pics but I was very hungry and they really wouldn't do it justice ! Will be back

Michelle B.

Yelp
The driest food you will ever have !! This is the 3rd time and it's been super dry every time but we kept giving them a chance! Not only did the order take for ever to get to my house (over an hour) it was waaay to dry. The falafels were tasty but very dry, the hummus and the babaganoush were delicious, the chicken may look amazing but unfortunately it really isn't. Also, I specifically said NO JALAPEÑOS because I am allergic, they still added jalapeños to my order.

Cynthia D.

Yelp
One of the best Lebanese restaurants in Bay Ridge best Shawarma's reasonably priced compared to everyone else, delivery service is very fast. I highly recommend karam

Afnan T.

Yelp
This place has been my brothers favorite hole in the wall Lebanese/Mediterranean spot in Brooklyn. I finally went with him and it hit the spot. It has a cute little seating area very nicely decorated with Lebanese art. I got the mix shawarma platter and he got the mix gyro. Both really good. The service is great. Everyone working there is very friendly. Now it's not a fancy place, food is served on paper plates and plastic utensils. Good place to go with family.

Daniela Z.

Yelp
Best restaurant in Brooklyn. They have the best food. Everything is always fresh. Highly recommend their full chicken with garlic sauce and tabbouli... exquisite

Cristina C.

Yelp
I can't believe I haven't been here sooner! I always pass by this restaurant when I'm in the area. This is a quick eat restaurant with about 6 dine in tables. Once you enter the restaurant, you place your order with the cashier and have a seat. They'll call you when your order is ready and you pick it up at the cashier. I had dinner with some friends here and we were completely satisfied with our meal. I had the shish taouk (chicken kebab) combination plate and it was VERY filling and delicious. It came with rice (you can also opt for a house salad), garlic sauce, pickled veggies and 2 thin pitas. The chicken was very tender, moist and flavorful. The garlic sauce is a MUST try. It was definitely the star of the dish and I would definitely come back just for the sauce. The staff were friendly and helpful and I can't wait to come back to dine here! Relatively cheap and really good compared to most restaurants in the area.

Betty E.

Yelp
My brother and I ordered from here tonight for delivery and everything was so delicious! I've been going to the same few places in my neighborhood and I'm so glad to add this one to my list. Decently priced and the food is packed with flavor. Their garlic dip is to die for!
