Kayne Prime Review - The Gulch - Nashville - The Infatuation

"Kayne Prime is a steakhouse in the Gulch that’s located near its other M Street restaurant group siblings (Virago, Moto, Saint Añejo). There’s nothing egregiously wrong with the food here—the bone-in wagyu ribeye is solid—but there are better steakhouses around town for the quality, service, and money. The spot is made for special occasions or out-of-towners with a YOLO budget, with a menu full of things like cotton candy on bacon and mousse made out of cheese. You know, stuff that would’ve knocked someone’s culinary socks off in 2010, but now just feel stale. photo credit: M Street Entertainment Group" - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

Patrick, Nicole & Kara were an amazing trio of a wait-staff! We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Kayne Prime! Delicious, unique dishes, great service and elevated atmosphere.

Wow, what a great experience! Our server was phenomenal! I hate that I can’t remember his name, but he was friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, and a big part of our experience The food was great! The chef definitely not what you doing. Very high-quality across the board.

Celebrated my birthday yesterday at Kayne’s it was spectacular. Hi Wendy, my favorite was the Steak Tartare, now I’ve had plenty but the Wagyu grade steak set this one apart. I also topped a little unto my oyster oh it was the perfect bite. My steak was cooked to perfection and that was the best Salmon in town. A special shout out to my server he provided exceptional service the entire team was attentive and communicated well. My date is still raving, needless to say we will be back. P.S if you’ve never had cookies and milk at a restaurant, this is your sign you should.

I'm writing this as I'm waiting for my card to come back. This place was amazing! Food 10/10 the service! Chef's Kiss. Everyone spoke and was welcoming and friendly and our server Todd was amazing and knowledgeable and attentive without being over bearing. Loved it. Will definitely return.

Came here 2.5 years ago and had one of my most memorable steak dinners ever. Oddly enough besides the amazing food our runner that night had an awesome personality and made the night memorable. Turns out he’s still here and a server now, Kyle. Sat at the bar tonight with Kelly and the service was just as good! The drinks are top notch and Kelly really knows her craft. Food wise all you need to know is get a steak, the flavor, temperature and incredible sear was perfection. I will be back every time I visit Nashville, don’t miss out!

Wonderful place to celebrate our anniversary. Food was excellent and Jess provided great service. Our table was in a quiet spot so we could talk without a lot of loud music and other customers' conversations. We so appreciate the surprise treat at the end of our meal.

I originally had a reservation for 2 on Thursday 2/20 but my guest was ill. The host directed me toward the back bar. I would have appreciated her walking me back there as I've never been here before but I was able to wander for a bit and find it. Jamie and Amber were phenomenal!! I was greeted promptly and walked through the menu by Jamie. Fantastic recommendations on food and drink: 1 of each oyster (2x) all lovely. Caesar salad - I loved the balsamic around the salad. 8oz Filet - MR cooked to perfection yakuniku BBQ - did not catch much on the BBQ flavor but the soy flavor was great Macaroni gratinee - I removed bacon (preference) Jalapenos weren't overwhelming, a great flavor cookies & milk Vanilla Old fashioned - LOVED this but I am impartial to amaro nonino Maple old fashioned - I picked up on a smokey flavor but not so much on the maple Tokyo Plum Old Fashioned - I enjoy trying new things, this was VERY floral even after removing the garnish. Well made just not to my taste. Great conversation with Jamie and Amber. Restaurant was busy but not over crowded. Music was there but not overpowering to the experience. 10/10 I will definitely recommend in the future.

Yelp
Prime is defined in the Merriam-Webster dictionary as: first in rank, authority, or significance; having the highest quality or value; of the highest grade regularly marketed. These all perfectly define Kayne Prime! I didn't just have the best meal I had the privilege to have this year at this restaurant, it's on my all time best meals list ever! I came here with a large group of people, friends/coworkers/colleagues while we were in a conference in Nashville. We had reservations, so we had no wait time. The restaurant is beautiful. Loved the refined ambience of the place. The staff, as we had several servers, were polite, kind, extremely patient, and always there to get us more food and drinks. The atmosphere and ease of service helped us truly enjoy ourselves and the company! We all had plenty of good wine... the food though... oh that was truly special. I can't even name everything I ate, but my favorite parts were and not in order of importance: 1) Mascarpone and Peach with root beer gastrique... delightful start to our meal. Never expected this to be so good! 2) Tray of different seafoods including lobster tail and crab... so yum! 3) Popcorn Butter Lobster. Small little pieced of lobster with popcorn on it! I felt like both my outer adult and inner child were appeased with this one! Who doesn't love lobster?!?! Who doesn't love popcorn!?!? What genius decided to pair these two?!?! Amazing!!!! 4) Housemade Bacon with black peppercorn and maple cotton candy. Super whimsical take on an appetizer. The bacon was succulent... the black peppercorn giving it flavor and a bit of spice that pairs perfectly with the maple cotton candy. If the popcorn butter lobster blew me away, this sent me to another world of flavor! My inner child and outer adult were screaming in ecstasy! Seriously, who comes up with these pairings?!?&? Magnificent!!! 5) Japanese Wagyu with Yakiniku BBQ. Best steak I have ever had anywhere! Spicy, flavorful, tender... perfection! 6) Creme Brulee... yeah that was the perfect end to the meal. To the staff, management, especially the chef... you guys rocked this! You totally rocked this! Super happy and thankful to have experience this place and this food! I would kill for another meal here! Wish I lived in Nashville!

Yelp
Overall, enjoyed dinner @ KP & our waiter, Thomas was excellent, but some things needed improvement! The drinks took about 30 minutes after we were seated - in need for more bartenders? The food was delicious, BUT COLD! The lobster popcorn was good, but lobster on the bottom was cold; the filets were cold (all 3 that were ordered) and the corn brûlée was also cold! The potatoes algirot were divine, and yay - hot!!! The cheese plate was excellent!!! I would recommend, but cold food is not ok, especially with their prices. Great service at the table!!!

Yelp
I came here for dinner on a Saturday night. The ambiance has a sophisticated intimate setting which I admired. We had reservations at 7:30pm and we were seated at 8pm. Upon seating The waiter mentioned to us that it would be a good idea to order our entrees with the appetizers. Looking back it made sense as to why our appetizers and entrees were all cold however everything was spot on with flavor. We brought this up to the waiter for feedback so they can improve this for the next guests to walk in. We ordered the Popcorn Lobster, cheese platter, Cesar salad, and filet Mingon steaks.

Yelp
We went out (3 people) this Friday. We had 8pm reservations We ordered 2 apps, 2 steaks, and 3 sides Drinks came out immediately. It took the appetizers an hour. The guy bringing our appetizers did two laps trying to find our table, we had to get our server and tell her that we saw the guy looking for us. When we got them they were cold pork belly and lobster... so not great They came over and apologized for how long everything was taking, so we got comped pop-overs Then the steaks took another hour to come out. They were fine. But the messed up which sides we had ordered which was super annoying because we had talked about how excited we were specifically about trying the ones we had ordered with the server. They came and apologized for needing more time to get the right sides and gave us more pop-overs and apologized for how long it was taking At this point the server got the manager who also apologized for how long it was taking, which was unnecessary because we hadn't even raised a fuss so it was awkward with how much they were apologizing and said don't worry we wouldn't be charged for the side we had been brought that we didn't order (which seemed obvious). At that point, we wanted out of there and had all acknowledged how long it took. And their solution was to offer us a dessert on the house, which would have taken even longer. it was 10:30pm on a Friday in Nashville, we had a babysitter for the first time in ages and were looking forward to seeing a bit of the city before having to go home. Guess not. $480 for a fine, but not great steak. Over the top apologizing, but not even comping a round of drinks or an app after getting them walked by your table enough for them to be cold. My wife and I both work within 2 blocks of Kayne's and were excited to try, but we'll never be going back

Yelp
Have been here twice and have had excellent experiences both times. The have valet parking. The steaks are cooked to perfection. The sides are amazing. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
This is our second time at Kayne Prime. It's definitely a high end steakhouse and the prices on the menu I reflect that. Both times the service has been excellent, the staff are very professional and hardworking. They have complimentary valet and coat check which is convenient. Both times we have done, the steaks have been unbelievable, the best we have ever had. In addition, the salmon and scallops were cooked to perfection. That being said, everything else on the menu is just good but hard to justify the value of the price point. Cocktails were standard and sides were average. The creamed corn brûlée, potato gratin and macaroni are the best of the sides we've tried. The brussel sprouts were unfortunately overcooked. The creamed spinach was lacking flavor. The kale, wedge and Caesar salads are fine. It's a fine dining experience, but for the price, the value is hard to justify.
google avatar

Robinson N.

Yelp
The food was decent - enjoyed the appetizers and desserts, but the entrees were underwhelming. The scallops were a bit salty and the filet ordered was overcooked (requested medium well but received overly well done). The service was pleasant and the place was nice, but I'll give it another try when it isn't too busy.

Yelp
I know this is a fancy steakhouse, I had the Wagyu steak and all the food was great, but they get 5 stars just for the bread. Best Bread EVER!!!! Warning, it is a bit of a maze in there, I got lost going to the bathroom.

Yelp
I was looking for a really nice restaurant to take my brother in-law for his birthday and him and my sister to congratulate them on their baby on the way. To say the service here was amazing would be an understatement. When I called to make a reservation, they asked to see if we were celebrating anything particular. I told them a baby on the way and a birthday. They wrote a hand written note for their birthday and it was placed on the table as we were seated. The front of the house manager came to our table to make sure everything was tasting good and everything was exceeding our expectations. This place was amazing, and we hadn't gotten our main entrees yet. We ordered the beet salad, the bone marrow and the popcorn as the appetizers and everything was absolutely delicious. We did the Wagyu and two salmon dishes. Everything was cooked to perfection. Our server was amazing and the night was absolutely perfect. Highly recommend this place for dinner or any special events because they make you feel very welcome.

Yelp
Unbelievable! Highly recommend dining here when in Nashville! I would go again in a heartbeat. It has a chic Vibe inside and each room is a little different. Start out in the bar area and enjoy the mixologist before you sit for dinner. Reservations are highly recommended. The popover where to die for! The filet mignon steaks were cooked to perfection. For sides I recommend the creamed corn which had a crispy sugar top and the air gratin potatoes. The potatoes had a thick layer of cheese on top so make sure your a cheese lover. We were served a white chocolate coated cheesecake for my husband's birthday that came with a warm chocolate syrup that they pour on top at the table. The service all around was terrific. The server had good recommendations for us. Omg! Hurry and go here!

Yelp
This is a tough review and maybe I just need to give them a second shot but our dining experience was not the best. We met some clients here after work. We ordered appetizers and drinks, chatted and ordered our entrees. We were seated towards the back as was a very large party which seemed to be a bachelorette party. Loud does not even begin to describe this group. They ruined the whole ambience of our dining experience. The 4 of us were yelling in order to hear each other. It was awful as we were all just annoyed. I'm not sure how the restaurant business works but to me when you have a group like them, knowing that they will get loud and rowdy, I would think that you wouldn't sit other guests near them or try to seat them in a private area if there is one. Like I said, maybe I just need to give it another shot because this one was not it

Yelp
Sounds a bit dramatic but I left thinking this was one of the best meals I've ever had in my life..... This is your spot for the best steakhouse in Nashville. They bring a rustic style to classy steakhouse that is very welcoming. I was a bit nervous to try this place but so glad we made it out. Everything from top to bottom is done with such detail and finesse. Every dish is top notch. What stole the show was the crème brûlée surprisingly. I am not even a huge dessert guy but this was something that blew my mind. The lobster popcorn dish seemed weird and tacky to me but we were amazed how well it worked and wish we got more. Steak was phenomenal, better than Jeff Rubys, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. You can't get much better than what Kayne has to offer.
google avatar

Leslie R.

Yelp
Kayne was amazing!! From the beginning, everything was perfect. We ordered the wagyu tartare and popcorn lobster to start. The tartare was ok, not blown away by it. The popcorn lobster was unexpectedly good! As an entree we got the New York strip and risotto tater tots and creamy spinach. The steak was absolutely delicious. While the risotto and spinach were good, it became a little too much for me to eat. The popovers came with our food and were delish! We got the smores creme brûlée to end the night, and it was very good Service was great, everything was great! Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Rachel N. Was immaculate, she went above and beyond to make sure my Wife was well taken care of during our birthday celebration dinner. When my steak was not to my liking Rachel & the rest of the manager staff went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of and had food to our liking.
google avatar

Bobbie W.

Yelp
The building doesn't look as big as the restaurant actually is. The service was fantastic, quick and helpful but not intrusive. The steak was one of the best I have ever had. Flavoring was amazing without any of the toppers. The risotto tater tots are a must!

Yelp
The interior has nice low light and dark wood tones consistent with a high end steakhouse. However, the ambiance was marred by our table placement. Due to a failure to use the hallway curtains that were almost certainly installed for this very purpose, my wife had an unobstructed view of the kitchen, compete with garbage can and dirty dishes, for our entire dinner. For my entree, I ordered the sea bass, which was perfectly cooked (5 out of 5). The risotto bites were also lovely. Unfortunately, the rest of the food was only average, especially for the high price tag. The brussel sprouts were nothing special, and I've had much better at other places. For our appetizer, we ordered the fries. Although the accompanying sauces and seasonings were wonderful, the fries themselves were cold and limp, very dissappointing. Finally, the service was very lackluster. When going out for a very expensive dinner at a high end steakhouse, one expects the exceptional service that is typical of these kinds of restaurants. Our service was more akin to a local value chain restaurant. Our server, though pleasant, failed to provide any recommendations, and once our order was taken, was practically nonexistent. After our meal, our dirty dishes were not cleared from our table for more than 30 minutes. Also, the entire meal took more than three hours, which although we did not have any time constraints, was much too long. Overall, there are many other high end restaurants in Nashville that are much better in every category, and for a better value. Do yourself a favor and pass on this one.

Yelp
May far this has been the best food experience we've had, since we moved to Nashville. The food and service were outstanding. Best surprise for my wife's birthday and they made it a special one.

Yelp
I'm so disappointed to have not had the stellar experience I always hear about in regard to Kayne Prime. The positives - we were warmly greeted and sat promptly. I love the ambiance of the restaurant. Things went downhill shortly after being seated. Overall, service was extremely slow. Even the amount of time it took us to receive our first cocktails and then place our order was very long. My friend and I started with the buttered popcorn lobster for the novelty of it. The popcorn worked in theory, but it also did not enhance the lobster in any way. It's needless but probably accomplishes what the here after but having people order it to see what all the fuss is about and why a chef would make this decision. But this is the reason. It's for the instagram photos. Would not order again. We also split a Caesar salad and I did enjoy the drizzle of Worcestershire, which added something unique. However my friend's plate was drowning in the Worcestershire. Not the consistency and attention to detail you'd expect at a fine dining restaurant. For dinner, we shared the 16 ounce bone in filet with the creamed spinach and potato aligot. It took approximately 2 hours to finally get our dinner for a filet we ordered medium rare. The food runner clearly very busy immediately begins to stir our sides for us. This should be a question to the guest and not an automatic action. The creamed spinach is topped with a sunny side up egg. It adds nothing to the taste per se but in true butter popcorn lobster fashion, it's for the instagram photo I would assume. Make sure to take your picture quickly before it is too late. Regarding the filet, It was my friend's 40th birthday and she cannot eat steak as rare as I am willing to do so, but at this point we were hungry and rather disappointed with the speed of service. Other parties that came in after us received their food before we did. Unsure if the server forgot to ring our order in or if it was initially overcooked and they restarted our meal. No one addressed the length of time it took to receive our meal. We had also ordered king crab legs to be added on to our meal and served warm. This was after being told the restaurant did not have any lobster tails or any other add on surf and turf options on the menu. Shocking to me for a restaurant of this caliber. Also a surprise as the menu online (even today) shows lobster listed on all of the shellfish platters as well as an add-on available. Apparently you have to download the pdf versions opposed to viewing the menu online to realize it has been removed. I assume This means the buttered popcorn lobster meat is also frozen chunks that they defrost...? It was about 10 minutes after our meal was delivered when we were told the king crab was not available because it was all frozen. Anyone who cooks enough knows how quickly crab can be cooked from frozen and at this point, 2+ hours should have been ample time to accommodate. Rather than asking what we would like instead (with perhaps a seafood offering to replace the seafood we attempted to order) the server brought out 3 pieces of Kobe beef to be cooked table side on a hot rock. This is in addition to the...beef...we already ordered. Only positive here was the server was able to throw on a couple of the very undercooked slices of filet we had to make them edible. Bread was also never delivered as promised. This is the part we got annoyed. The manager came by to let us know he would be taking the Kobe beef off of our check. My friend said I hope so because we did not order it. It was such a strange way to act like he was doing us a favor. Two glasses of champagne were brought to the table as well, which we did not drink. The manager also offered dessert, which we refused. Then a server assistant brought dessert spoons to the table and insisted it was coming anyway to which we had to again say no thank you. We finally paid the bill and are signing our credit card slips when the manager came over again to "review the bill to make sure everything was correct." This was so odd and so intrusive at this point. Our cards have already been swiped. Anything done to our bill was by his hand. We felt he was fishing for gratitude for the two drinks taken off of the bill. At no point did the restaurant try to determine how to make things right in a way that would be meaningful to us. It was careless attempts that you would receive at a casual dining restaurant. Both my friend and I have worked in many restaurants at various levels including corporate. We are overly forgiving with mistakes as long as it is honestly acknowledged. Trying to throw dessert at an issue is an Applebee's level fix. All of this to say I am sure this is a standalone experience and very rare, like our steak. (A joke is necessary at this point.) If everything goes smoothly, I'm sure it will be fantastic.

Yelp
12/17/23: Attended a birthday dinner while in Nashville. Upscale steakhouse intimate decor. Staff very nice. Reason minus a star few items we ordered were not available. Many of us ordered snapper was told they were out. Cosmo ordered wasn't the best had a weird taste. The amuse bouche served was delicious. Appetizer ordered popcorn buttered lobster. Interesting but yummy. Main sea bass and tendori carrots as snapper was sold out. Fish well seasoned and tasty. Not sure what they did to the carrots, they were amazing. The taste was exquisite. All in all good time by all!

Katlyn H.

Yelp
Best steakhouse in Nashville! Such unique options for food and the service is incredible with a whole staff team helping you out.

Yelp
My husband and I had dinner here after we eloped, and it was a wonderful experience. The staff was friendly, attentive, and went the extra mile to make our night special. The service was exceptional, and the food was delicious. We will be back!!

Yelp
Had a great 2nd time here eating with my wife and dad. Ambiance is great and comfortable. You really get the vibe that everyone eating here is having a good time. Cannot go wrong with any of the steaks, but that Australian Wagyu is amazing and you must get bone marrow butter to go with it. Along with that, all of the appetizers were delicious as well. The only thing I would recommend is going with more appetizers over sides as the sides were mediocre in my opinion. We had the corn and potatoes. I thought the corn was too sweet with the thick layer of crispy sugar on top and the potatoes were more cheese than anything. For dessert, the banana bread is the diamond here. However we also got the cheesecake and that looked like a piece of art also tasting good. Service was ok. With everyone they have running around, was kinda sad to see how often we were being passed by when needing a new drink.

B. H.

Yelp
The service was slow and food was so over cooked. Nothing was worth the prices. The only good item were the free popovers.

Yelp
This is in the gulch area which I didn't know what that area was about. Made reservations and was seated quickly. Our waiter was the best. Had great recommendations. He brought out these spoons and I couldn't remember what it was but it was good, compliments from the chef. We started off with the homemade bacon with cotton candy, yes cotton candy. I was hesitant at first but it complemented the bacon. A must try. I love wedge salad but was told it was huge but offered to split it and gave my wife ranch since she doesn't like bleu cheese. I got the progression of NY strip and added the wagyu. The steaks had specific seasoning for each piece including the wagyu. It was worth it. My wife had the sea bass but didn't like the red tobiko caviar. She liked caviar but it had a crunchy texture which she didn't like I like it. We also shared the risotto tater tots. We were stuffed and could not get dessert. We walked back to our hotel to burn off all the calories.

Yelp
I'm between 3 and 4 stars because the food is good but for this price point there were too many negatives. It was our second time here. The service is outstanding. Every person you encounter is there to make sure your dining experience is top notch. Ordered the strawberry fields cocktail. It comes with a piece of starburst and the actual drink tastes like starburst. I wouldn't order again. I prefer real strawberries in my drinks. Here were the disappointments: -our party of 5 didn't get the popovers. We weren't offered them and I didn't remember they had them until I saw some on another table and we were already 1/2 done with dinner. -the Waygu filet tasted like a normal filet. We ordered it blue but the outside and edges were too cooked in my opinion. I'm not sure what they put on the steak to make it so dark but I didn't like it and cut it off. -we ordered 8oz of the A5 waygu. It's cooked tableside on a 500 degree salt block. It was WAY overcooked. Especially since we ordered our filet blue, I'm not sure why the server would cook the very thin pieces so long. For the amount of money spent, it really unacceptable to have it over cooked. -four years ago when we first visited, we were giving a small glass vile of steak seasoning to take home. Our server was going to ask about it since she hadn't heard they do that and then never let us know what the verdict was. The seasoning to take home was a nice touch and it's unfortunate they don't do it anymore. -the sides are good but when you load butter and cream into a side it's hard to screw it up in my opinion. The scalloped potatoes were heavy. The risotto tater tots were too spicy for me and the creamed corn brûlée tasted like normal corn with a brûlée top (no creamed corn involved). I'm not sure we'll be back after this experience. Especially now that Nashville is adding so many new steak houses. It's unfortunate because this second visit was nothing like our first visit.

Yelp
Ok - I'm due a review for Kayne Prime. I love this place. I love that they have multiple rooms sectioned off to provide a more intimate setting. This helps with the noise - I often feel like I have to yell in some restaurants because their are so many people talking around me. I've been here several times and the food is often on point. Our go tos: Apps -duck tacos -cotton candy bacon Main -filet -salmon Sides -cream corn brûlée -broccolini Dessert -toffee chocolate cake (get this!! It's so good - I like that it wasn't super rich/sweet) This last time we went, the medium temp filet came out rare. They were apologetic and replaced it. They came over several times to provide status updates on the ETA. Our water glasses were never empty. The complimentary popovers - the best! I've taken coworkers, friends and family - they all loved this place.

Yelp
We had a reservation for a birthday dinner, and absolutely loved our experience here. The whole staff was incredibly friendly to start. A server came right over to offer water before our main server came to greet us. Her name was Megan, and she was hands down one of the best servers we've ever had. She walked us through the menu, and offered very detailed recommendations. Drinks were brought so promptly, and Megan had a great knowledge of their large liquor menu as well. The food was top tier. The appetizers were perfect. All of the fine details were in place, and really added to the experience. Megan prepared us their A5 Wagyu table side, and that was beyond savory. The Wagyu from the kitchen was definitely thicker in size, however the quality was unbelievably high. It is absolutely worth it. They also brought our friend a complimentary desert, which melted in your mouth. We will absolutely be dining here again our next trip down.

Yelp
First off- the food is really good. You will order a 75$ steak and realize why when you cut into it. The salad and the sides were also very good. I could eat my weight in the brussel sprouts. The steaks live up to the hype and are worth it for a special occasion. Dessert was very good and I'd recommend that banana bread to anybody. Service is the star of the show here and you get an experience that lines up with the price point. Very attentive staff. I put in my reservation note that this was for me and my girlfriends anniversary and multiple staff members told us "happy anniversary". The atmosphere is cool and lines up with the food and service level. Look- when you get the bill you might throw up in your mouth a little bit but this is worth the money for a special occasion. Just try it one time

Yelp
Always love Kayne Prime. The service, the food, the atmosphere. Girl's night was awesome at Kayne! All A+!

Yelp
Everything was delicious! Bacon with cotton candy, yes please! I really enjoyed the place and the service that we had. Would recommend for small to medium sized groups.

Yelp
We loved the ambience at Kayne Prime! What a fun place! And the food was really delicious. Very expensive, but service was perfect and made everything even better!

Yelp
This place did not really meet our expectations. The service was not good, many dishes were salty and not good. The wagyu was a cool experience but given the other side dishes and service, we won't be back. The food just worth it given their high prices!

Yelp
This is one of the best steak houses I've been to and when I am in Nashville, I like to stop by. The food and service are impeccable! The waitstaff is attentive and the kitchen accommodating- this last time I went someone in our party had a sesame allergy and they altered the dishes as needed. Appetizers were delicious- I recommend the risotto tater tots and the house-made bacon with the maple cotton candy. The Caesar salad was great! My steak was okay, a little charred for medium, but delicious either way. With the steaks come Yorkshire Puddings, or turnovers.

Yelp
20oz Australian Waygu Ribeye: this was totally worth the price. This is an enormous slab of meat. Be prepared for this to quite literally, melt in your mouth. It is best prepared medium and it is cooked at 1200 degrees which gives the beautiful charred look for an abundant amount of flavor! Creamed Spinach: the egg in top threw me for a loop at first until I tasted it. It was absolutely delicious. It has a strong garlic flavor- so if you love garlic like I do, order it! Potatoes: JUST GET THEM. They're exquisite. Jalapeño bacon macaroni: I loved the mac and the bread crumbs, but It wasn't my favorite of the three sides. STILL GREAT, but not the best one! The service was outstanding and you had constant service with smiles and good conversation! There were workers absolutely everywhere! The building itself was amazing too. When we pulled up there were two men who parked our car for us and the people at the front who were seating everyone were great as well. 10/10.

Yelp
Came here for a night out in Nashville. Kayne Prime never disappoints. Perfect ambience for date night, girls night out or just a random night when you're in the mood for good food. The service was impeccable and even provided great recommendations. I ordered the Wagyu Filet Mignon, side cream corn brûlée, potato gratin paired with Daou Cabernet Sauvignon. The filet Mignon was mouth watering, tender and very flavorful. The cream corn brûlée had a nice sugar crunch that added to the sweetness of the corn. The potato gratin had a nice cheesy consistency in it that I was very delighted to taste. Last but not least the Daou Cabertnet Sauvignon is never a disappointment and it paired nicely with the steak.

Yelp
Everything about my experience was 5 star! Our reservation was at the bar and the manager greeted us and ensured we were comfortable with our seats. Bar staff was friendly and very attentive to us our whole visit. Food was absolutely amazing!! Highly recommend coming in and having the filet - cooked to perfection!

Yelp
Great food and service. The Beef tartare was amazing but the spicy bbq chips served it with was over powering. The waiter (Harper) brought us some toast points and it was perfect. The steak was great with the bone marrow butter. The Corn was the best side. Our bill for 2 was $400 after tip. We did have about $80 in alcohol If you are ok with a $200 per person dinner on a special occasion then this is the spot.

Yelp
I came here to celebrate my parent's anniversary. This was my second time here and it did not disappoint. The food and ambiance was great. Our waiter was very attentive and went out of his way to make my parents feel special and celebrated. I had the filet and we shared the lobster mac cheese and the creamed corn brûlée. I highly recommend the cream corn brûlée. For dessert, I had the chocolate chip cookie which was delight. They offer valet but there's a lot a paid lot across the street if you prefer. I highly recommend this restaurant for a date night, celebratory dinner or a night out with friends!

Yelp
So glad we came here! It did not disappoint! We showed up a little earlier than our reservation. They were gracious enough to let us be seated. I can't ever understand the logistics of why restaurants sit people in different spots of the restaurant. At first they sat us in a weird and secluded area way in the back. I asked the hostess, if they could give us a booth and she kindly made it happen. Andrew, our server, was informative, and really nice. He explained the menu and specials very well. He was attentive to us and delivered excellent service. Nicole, manager, came around to also make sure we were well. 5 out of 5 for service! Even though my review was 5 stars, not everything was 5 stars for us. Tomahawk Steak ($180, 32oz)- 4 out of 5 very flavorful, delicious- BUT- we asked for it to be cooked- medium and it came out medium rare. We sent it back for a quick touch up. Chefs recovered well!! My only thing was this steak was a lot fattier than expected. Housemade Bacon- ($20)- 3 out of 5. Wifey didn't like pork belly! I liked it- I didn't love it. Very tender! Cotton Candy- so delicious. Cotton Candy so good/ pork belly is good- together- NOT A FAN! Cream Corn Brûlée-($15) 5 out of 5!!! Such a great concept! Get it!! Macaroni Gratinée- ($20) their Mac n Cheese version! So fire!!! 5 out of 5 Espresso Martini- ($18) 5 out of 5 You have to go go drink!!! -($16) 1 out of 5 Pricey, romantic, great ambiance and delicious food! If you can do it- make it happen!

Yelp
We had a wonderful dinner experience on 2/9/24. Our waiter, Amir was absolutely fantastic. You can tell he takes great pride in his job. We were seated and he immediately wished us a Happy Anniversary, which was a shock because we hadn't put it down on our reservation. He also asked if I would like The Return of the Green Dragon cocktail, which blew me away since that's my favorite cocktail. We hadn't been back to Kayne Prime in almost 8 years but whatever notes system they use is impressive. He surprised us at the end with two glasses of complimentary champagne and a nice desert set up that said "Happy Anniversary." It's the little things that make this place such a unique dining experience. My only criticism is that some of the oysters had some small shells in them but otherwise, the food was outstanding. A lot of restaurants these days slack in the details. It's a really nice personal touch that they keep such good notes on their patrons. We'll be back a lot sooner than 8 years simply for the amazing service we experienced from start to finish.

Yelp
Everything was absolutely decadent! I tried the 20 ounce Australian ribeye along with a couple of ounces of the A5 Wagyu. They were both to absolutely die for! I also got the bone logs, and enjoyed them alongside the meat offering with fresh bread and parsley salad. The service was on point!! I got a modern old-fashioned that truly hit the spot! For dessert I got the crème brûlée and an Italian liquor to accompany. The Liquor was new for me but absolutely wonderful!!

Yelp
I've worked in a few fine dining restaurants, which means whether I like it or not I notice so many things that could be an issue (or that could just be annoying to handle as a server). All of those things I noticed were handled with such grace and poise. You can tell how much work they put in. 10/10 from the staff. The service captain that presented our wine, I believe her name was Nicole, was so personable. You could tell she's perfected her role, and is a great leader. The food was fantastic! I had the Red Snapper and the Gratin, both of which were impeccable. Of course, it's a whole fish, so bones are to be expected. If that's something that might make or break a dish for you, be ware of that! All in all, the service + environment were great, food was wonderful, and Nicole should get a raise. Don't skip dessert either, or you'll surely be missing out!

Yelp
Pretty slow but good. We were a big party, but it took 40 minutes after we ordered for some steaks that got sent back immediately. Idk they might've forgotten us and rushed, but the steaks were still really good. overall a nice place, pretty quiet, but service wasn't good.

Yelp
It took me months to muster up the courage to write this review because I really don't enjoy bringing a business down... let's start with the good! Service was great! Our server was wonderful, which is why I gave an extra star than I normally would have for this place. Ambience is very much an old-school steakhouse kind of vibes (which I'm cool with)! Now to the food, which is really where I'd give this place two stars ... we ordered the seafood tower (fete de la mer), $125, and the Austrian wagyu ribeye, priced at $119. Now I'm calling out the prices because for what we ordered, the cost did NOT match the quality. The seafood tower was chewy, crab was overcooked, and nothing had that fresh taste like one would hope when it comes to a seafood tower. Don't get me started on the 'wagyu' ribeye... it's true that they are starting to call everything Wagyu these days and this did NOT have the tenderness and delicacy that Wagyu should have. Beyond that, we asked for a medium-rare steak, we received a steak that was extremely charred on the outside but rare on the inside. My guess is they have a really hot broiler which is why we didn't ask them to cook our steak more because it was totally burnt on the outside, would have came back chewier at that point. And for a $119 steak this was a BIG fail - if we can cook a $20 Costco ribeye at home and it's more flavorful than a $119 'Wagyu' ribeye, then you've got a BIG problem. To end it on a high note... they did give us free dessert for our anniversary which surprisingly was AMAZING and the best part of our meal! If you like a super charred steak, this may be the place for you! I'd just recommend getting another steak and not their Australian Wagyu.

Yelp
The service was great and super helpful. The espresso martini was top notch. They have some delicious and unique items such as the popcorn butter lobster and the tomahawk duroc pork chop. The shishito peppers were boring, only west coast oysters offered, my med-rare steak was charred and overcooked. Another person's sea bass was very fishy tasting and did not finish. The wagyu filet was not worth the additional cost. To our group of four, this did not hold us to several other steakhouse in Nashville.

Yelp
We attended Kayne's in downtown based on a recommendation. We used the complimentary valet and were seated immediately for our reservation. We started out with a bottle of Syrah for about $60 and two generous portions of Caesar salad. Next, our steaks arrived - 8 oz filet mignon and 6 oz wagyu filet - cooked right to temperature along with the macaroni with bacon and jalapeños, and ricotta tater tots. Plus the apple butter bread which we devoured instantly. Both sides - Mac and tots - were tasty and our favorite was the macaroni - What's not to love about cheese and bacon? A lot of high end restaurants serve up small portions so we were pleasantly surprised at the sizes. Overall, we rated it 4 stars due to experience, food and service. We didn't offer it 5 because the value did not match the price and we thought there should have been more "wow" flavors.

Yelp
We were greeted by a clearly annoyed hostess who literally had to take a deep breath, change her expression, and then gave a very awkward and fake "Hello thank you for coming in...!" Then, we didn't get seated for over 30mins beyond our reservation time. The waiter said everything was "the best" in an odd way that came across as he thought maybe we had never dined at a nice restaurant before. Comments like "we have the best seafood" "everything here is the best. You can't go wrong". The ultimate kicker was the waiter "accidentally" charging us for 2 bottles of wine when we ordered 1. Again, the whole apology around it and vibe was just off. I get mistakes happen, but we all got the sense it was an attempt at an extra $150 on our tab. Food was good although I wouldn't say "the best".

Yelp
This place was amazing!! The food was out of this world and the service is the best I've ever had. We had Andrew helping our section and Cly as our waitress. Someone at the table can't eat pork and we did not realize until after our food was delivered and they insisted on getting us mac and cheese and Brussels without the pork. Thank you so much!! We will be back.

Yelp
Nice restaurant, feels very upscale, good food, but extremely overpriced. Prepare to spend some $$. Service was a little iffy. They took so long to bring out our drinks, like our food was on the table before the drinks came out. Thankfully the manager came out and comped the drinks which was a nice way of handling things, but it just seemed like they didn't have their stuff figured out. As my cocktail, I ordered the Do I Have Your Attention, which has starburst-infused vodka, lemon, simple syrup, and orange bitters. I thought it was good, you can actually taste the hint of Starburst candy in it which I thought was fun. My boyfriend and I split the Waygu Filet Mignon and the Ribeye. The ribeye certainly was more flavorful than the filet, I liked that one more. Both were cooked well and were good. A little bummed neither came with any sides, despite the hefty price, nor any of the butters or sauces (added fee). We ordered the Pepperoni & Shrooms, which were tasty. Good meal, just very pricey.
