"Summertime in Montreal brings with it all sorts of reasons to celebrate, and one of the main ones is the re-opening of the city’s ice cream parlors. This particular one on Rue Fairmount is easily the city’s most sophisticated ice cream shop, with a Japanese-inflected creative twist on the flavors that’s all their own. Every ice cream they serve is made in-house, and their signature cone is a soft ice-cream and sorbet swirl. Past combos have included sour cherry sorbet and almond milk ice cream, coconut ice cream and orange sorbet, mango sorbet and dulce de leche ice cream… yum. The homemade pastries and sweets on the counter are also a reason to visit."

Really popular ice cream spot. Get their salted butter (bestseller, close to a butterscotch flavour but really light), a fruit sorbet, and then 1 plain sesame bagel from Fairmount Bagels next door. Eat ice cream on bagel like butter and jam

This ice cream shop is perfectly located in a food corner from Fairmont Bagels to Drogheria to Kem CoBa! Got the soft serve. The texture was perfect, and the flavors blended well. I love that they had SE Asian / Vietnamese flavors!

Kem Coba is one of the top 3 places for outstanding ice cream in Montreal. If we are having dinner in the area we stop for dessert here. About every two weeks there soft ice cream flavour changes and the flavours are exquisite burst of a perfect blend of flavours. In the fall their last soft ice cream taste like apple pie. WOW. Dry duran, salted butter, the dark chocolate is devine.. Not sure if you will like the soft ice cream, just get a mini and come back for more. Vincent , Ngoc family and team are very friendly and patient. The line up is long in summer, hence the rope because that is how good and popular Kem Coba is . There are seats to enjoy and chat with friends. The summer heat has finally arrived and its time for delicious ice cream and sorbet . Also a stop on my ice cream tours of Montreal. As usual, absolutely delicious spot! The soft serve is my favorite. But the flavors on the home made ice cream are so delicious. The soft serve is a twist of dulce de lèche and pear flavor. The pear was very powerful tasting. Almost like you are biting into a pear. The other ice cream was 70% chocolate and Vietnamese coffee, both wonderful!

Kem Coba has good quality ice cream for sure. Just dissapointed by their cash only policy. They also charge 0.25$ for an empty cup on top of their ice cream being pricey. They save a lot of money on credit card fees, make you wait in line, the least they could do is give free cups. Not of fan of cash only and charging for cups etc, ice cream however is good

The hype is real, folks. Just do like I do and go when it's rainy and cold. My last visit I had a goat cheese and sour cherry ice cream, it was absolutely mind blowing. The dark chocolate is rich and tasty, and they have sorbets with weird fruits too. I could have had anything on the menu and I know it's good.

We understand why this place is famous. The quality and flavor are consistently good. Most of the time, there will be a long queue, and it can be quite hard to find parking around. You can sit outside in front of the ice cream shop. Every two weeks, they have a new flavor of the season. We love the salted butter ice cream, soursop. The special of the week: Rose + Lychee + Raspberry, It’s a beautiful blend, hope it can have it all the time.

My friends and I were just walking by and realized this opened in 15 minutes, and there wasn't a line yet. Thank goodness because once we got in line, it formed... and it was long. Their shop is one of Montreal's staples and I'm happy to say that they provide a few vegan friendly sorbet options. During our visit, they had wonderful tropical fruit flavors and you can split a small cup for the same price. Their mango was refreshing and a must try. Cash only! Make sure to bring them bills to pay for this delicious Vietnamese inspired ice cream.
