"You’ve probably passed Kiin Thai during your trips to the CVS on 8th street and not thought much of it. But, on top of the fact that it’s in the middle of the NYU area, Kiin Thai is actually worth trying. It’s an easy spot to have a catch-up dinner with a friend, and they have a lunch deal that comes with a main dish, spring rolls, salad, or soup (which won’t cost you more than $11). It’ll make you feel a little better about spending money on dinner, despite being down $25 after the deodorant and flosser picks." - Hannah Albertine, Matt Tervooren

"Kiin Thai is a casual spot on 8th street near NYU that’s useful to know about for your low-key catch-up dinner needs. This place is relatively inexpensive and usually easy enough to walk in a get a table. Plus, they have a lunch deal that comes with a main dish, spring rolls, salad, or soup (which won’t cost you more than $11)." - Hannah Albertine

The food was okay. Great customer service, but the food takes a little too long, I mean especially if you order rice noodles. They don’t take long to cook. The Thai iced tea was the bomb though, I can’t even lie, I ordered a second glass. My papaya salad wasn’t tasty at all but overall everything else was okay. Clean bathroom, nice decor/setup. I realized after I left that their grade was a “B”.

Very tasty papaya salad to start with although I might add that it was more fishy tasting then I've had before. Shrimp donuts were tasting but a bit over friend, red curry was just right, and a generous portion of chicken within it. The Pandan fashioned was very good as well. Staff was friendly and I would definitely eat here again.

Very tasty rice noodles, with lovely heat and a big complex flavor. Lunch specials are decently priced, the portion was a tad bit smaller than I expected. The papaya salad is really wonderful! Fresh, bright, and crisp.

Came to this place for dinner after seeing the NYC Halloween parade. The ambience was good. The pumpkin shaped lamps on the table looked cute. Liked the food too. Especially the donut shaped shrimp fry.

The food was very tasty, the portions were great for the lunch special. The lunch special price was also a great deal

We went for lunch. Service was attentive and prompt. The fried chicken and the khoa soi were both very good. The decor and location of the restaurant are modern and pleasant. Definitely with a stop in for a lunch. The happy hour menu promotion is 1/2 off drinks and 20% off all noodle dishes. We will check it out next time!

Really enjoyed this restaurant with my husband. The food was great as well as the drinks, the spiced mango mojito was the best I ever had.

Excellent spring rolls. Very cheap food! My husband got the pad kee mao and he liked it. But I got the pad Thai and it tasted kinda weird. Too much red stuff (I think it was tomato?) And the sauce wasn't smooth or clear, it was kinda thick like tomato paste. And it didn't come with peanuts, I had to ask for them, and it was super spicy! It was so spicy that I started to sweat after a few bites! Haha so I wouldn't recommend the pad thai but maybe get something else! I really liked the service. It was fast and friendly. And the place has a very nice atmosphere and nice decorations. I did think it was a little weird that there was one bathroom with several stalls for both men and women to share. It just felt kinda weird to be in a bathroom with a strange man right there. Like there's a crack in the door so it was a little weird to know that any guy could just take a peek at me. Haha ok well I hope this is helpful! :)
