Yelp
First time stopping by around 5 in the evening and they are pretty busy! They don't have too many walk-in orders but a ton of online and delivery-app orders.
I'll start with the negatives right off the bat for my first impression. One that didn't really affect me was seeing multiple tables with dirty dishes left on them while no customer was there. If I were dining in I wouldn't be too happy seeing that.
The other issue seems to be their organization and timelines of pushing out orders. I placed my order at 5:07pm at the kiosk and it stated it would be a 15 minute wait. Perfect as it gave me enough time to still have extra time before I had to get back to where I was going. Well that 15 minutes passed . . . so did 20 . . . 30 . . . finally at 5:54pm, my food was ready. Although the cashier was nice and constantly ran back and forth to check on orders, he told me at least 3 times that my order would be "ready in five minutes". A few delivery drivers were also waiting around for a while getting antsy.
ANYWAYS, besides the wait time, the food was outstanding! I ordered the spicy Cheese tteokkbokki and Tonkatsu kimbap which came to about $25. I would've loved to add egg, ramen, or other toppings tomy rice cakes but they are $3 EACH. So yes, $3 for ONE egg, $3 for ONE portion of ramen, $3 for ONE portion of green onions, etc. That's absolutely absurd and quite frankly, a reason I wouldn't go back if simply adding a few toppings is going to add $10 to my dish. Even now with inflation, one egg for a restaurant isn't anywhere near what one egg costs a regular customer from the market.
The actual portion is huge but I also wish there was a smaller or half portion. This easily fed me through 3 meals but some of us just like "one" bowl for one meal. But the rice cakes were chewy, fish cakes tasted great, sauce was rich and spicy, and plenty of cheese covered the top to where you couldn't even see the rice cakes!
As for the kimbap, I do appreciate that they have "one roll" and "two roll" options. I opted for the one roll. Freshly rolled, crispy tonkatsu, and they give you tonkatsu sauce too which is unique and goes well here. The pickles were also delicious and I ate those up so fast.
So overall, the food itself is a 5/5. But the issues I mentioned above are just a bit much to keep me away or at least not rush to come back.
