Kinfolx - Review - Uptown Oakland - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Kinfolx is a rare late-night coffee destination in Uptown Oakland that’s designed to keep you around for a while. By day, the perpetually packed cafe is the place to order an espresso drink made with Mother Tongue Coffee, sit at one of the many tables, and fuss with a laptop spreadsheet for hours. They dim the lights in the evening, morphing this place into a wine bar where you can unwind with by-the-glass or bottle pét-nats and bubbles until closing (8 or 11pm on weekdays). Kinfolx doubles as a town hall, so expect a full schedule of panel talks and themed parties—check their Instagram for the latest." - Lani Conway

24 Excellent East Bay Coffee Shops with Free Wifi | Eater SF

"Calling Kinfolx a mere cafe ignores everything this Telegraph Avenue business brings to the area. They have food and coffee, yes, but Kinfolx also hosts community events, including pop-ups and talks with authors and educators, and has a gallery in the back. But if you’re looking for a workplace away from home during the day, Kinfolx has plenty of seating to accommodate patrons and convenient outlets to plug laptops and chargers into." - Dianne de Guzman

I felt incredible joy as I sipped on a delicious oat latte (beans from Mother tongue!) and a flavorful chicken patty (made w/ vegan flaky shell) on a super comfortable chair. All of it contributed to a homey atmosphere. But the best part was watching all the folks in community at kinfolx. People played puzzles, some discussed books, and others worked on laptops. This is a beautiful third space and one I’ll be visiting frequently!

Google
An unexpected cafe gem, would highly recommend this place if you're looking for a place to chill and talk or work. It was quite busy when we arrived mid-noon, and the drinks are on the sweeter side, but the comfy decor (and clean, high-tech bathrooms) created a really nice ambience. They unfortunately ran out of the kinfolx latte, but would love to try it the next time I'm back!

Google
I love coming here! The playlist is always hella good. And they make my dirty chai latte with love every time. I usually get the breakfast sandwich but I got the jalapeño bagel w/ lox cream cheese. Too good.

Google
Five stars for the best, most balanced latte that I’ve had during my one month in the Bay Area, and I’ve been looking. 5 For the friendly helpful service. 5 for the relaxed vibe decor, music, people quietly talking together, lounge feel, as I read my book in the window. But let me tell you about the bidet… I’m little embarrassed about a pic of a toilet, but the seat rose up and the toilet cleaned itself as I entered so I couldn’t resist lining the seat and sitting down. The seat was warm. There is a whole control panel for how you want to be treated. The water is so warm. It then cleans (?disinfects) itself and folds the spout away😜. 5 More stars for the added luxury.

Google
Beautiful corner coffee shop in downtown Oakland. I loved it so much I came just about every morning during my 5 day visit. My only complaints: 1. warming breakfast pastries isn’t standard. I hate being handed cold pastries. 2. The heat shields do not fit over the small cups. 100% recommended.

Google
Their is food delicious, I ordered their veggie breakfast sandwich without cheese and they accidentally gave me one with cheese. I asked if I could gift it to someone rather than let it be trashed and they allowed me. I got to give it to another Black woman :). They remade my sandwich quickly and it was tasty. 😋 The oat milk latte was standard and delicious and beautiful. The music had me bopping around and singing. I came in fully expecting to listen to my own music and realized there was no need to lol. The bathroom was clean and the toilet seat was warm. We need more spaces for Black people and this felt like such a safe and inviting space for us. :) I will be here again. ❤️🖤💚

Google
I love Kinfolk! It’s such a community base space and it feels like it based upon the seating arrangements and the large options for comfortable places to work/get coffee! I got the hot chocolate, which was good, nothing special though! I mainly enjoy this space because it feels so justice and community oriented :) the staff are always very friendly and I love the artwork up!!!

Google
Wow - what a hip cool spot to chill with great coffee/other drinks! Exactly the kind of coffee shop I’ve always dreamt of opening myself ;) They have fast free Wi-Fi, lots of comfy seating & nice airy space. It was about 230PM Sunday afternoon and we grabbed the last two seats! Barely 5 minutes walk from 19th St BART station & there’s even a Shake Shack across the street & other good eats nearby. Def stop by when you’re in Uptown Oakland!

Yelp
I came here to a have a weird/tough meeting about getting a local arts nonprofit to commit to the Palestinian campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel, aka PACBI. The warm, comforting atmosphere that Kinfolx provides really helped with the anxiety I was feeling. I got a limeade since it was way past my caffeine cutoff time. It was great limeade, though a little pricey when you include tip. Everything I ever ordered here has been great. The service has been great as well. If you have a problem with this place your politics are probably bad.

Yelp
Kinfolx has been on my radar for a while, being a minority-owned and community-oriented cafe in the East Bay, and it does not disappoint. The seating is very welcoming with a variety of seating types from small working tables (which I was at) to couches. The art, plants, and lots of natural lighting really livens up the place too. The WiFi was a bit spotty, though password info was well posted and there were outlets scattered near working tables for customer convenience. It was a great set-up for my purposes of camping out for a few hours to get some work done! I ordered a Matcha Latte with their Kinfolx syrup (spiced sweetener with orange zest), and it was good, though not one of the best. Next time I would be interested in trying one of their other non-coffee lattes, perhaps the Lavender Latte..

Yelp
Kinfolx is a pretty popular cafe a block away from 19th St BART station. I came by to catch up with a friend on a Thursday afternoon around 2:30 and I was shocked by how busy it was. Most tables were occupied by people with laptops who were there working, though there were some small groups chatting as well. The space is huge, with plenty of natural lighting and large plants placed throughout the space. I can see why it's a popular place for folks to work. They offer a variety of drinks and food, with the food mostly focusing on sandwiches and sweet/savory pastries. I had lunch already and wasn't hungry, so I opted for a glass of wine instead. They were out of most white wines, including the one I wanted, so I settled for a glass of the sparkling sauvignon blanc for $13. My friend and I were here for a couple hours chatting away as we slowly sipped our drinks and never felt rushed. My only complaint is that there were a lot of flies flying around and I was constantly waving them away from my glass. This may have been because we were sitting close to the door, which is propped open, but it was annoying to deal with.

Yelp
Expansive cafe in DT Oakland with myriad almost floor-to-ceiling windows illuminating the space as well as plant life to add color and life to the place. The exposed metal piping and beams on the ceiling gave the place a bit of an eco-brutalist vibe. Plenty of seating, but this place seems to be packed on the weekdays by students and remote workers. I came around 11am on a Monday morning and couldn't find an open table that could accommodate my drink and laptop simultaneously. There is free WiFi and a decent number of outlets available, but, again, it's hard to find a table in general on a weekday. I ordered a chai latte, and it was too sweet for my taste. No explicit option to change sweetness level of drinks. Miscellaneous: -Employees are friendly and do their jobs well -Nice japanese toilet in the bathroom (private) -Great place for studying or work, since almost everyone here is doing the same -You can see a few murals/street art on surrounding buildings if you're seated near the intersection of Telegraph Ave and Thomas L Berkeley Way

Yelp
Kinfolx was nicely set up with plenty of seating and good vibes. Great place to read, get a coffee, and study. The brown sugar latte was more than worth the visit. Kinfolx had some great art curated, and great service. This place is in the center of it all. Great location, good drinks, friendly service.

Yelp
Finally a coffee shop that's open late! I was apartment touring nearby and decided to stop by on a Friday night. There's a ton of seating and the inside is very well-decorated and spacious. I was also pleasantly surprised by the size of the bacon, egg and cheese sandwich I ordered. It was very hearty and hit the spot for comfort breakfast food. The service does take awhile, but the staff is small so totally understandable. I can definitely see myself coming back often even though I don't live in Oakland.

Yelp
Cool coffee shop with a lot of couches. Cozy. Its also a wine bar, would like to visit sometime and get some wine.

Yelp
Ambiance: One of my favorite coffee shops! Huge space with lots of seating at proper tables and comfy couches. Great place for a coffee meet up or a place to work. Wifi is available and works great. Though it can get pretty crowded and noisy in the afternoon. If you plan to work I advise going in the morning. They also have regular events that they post on their instagram and open evenings as a wine bar. Service: Order at the counter and self bus, but the staff is helpful at the counter. Food/Drink: I have never had a coffee there I didn't like, they are all well balanced for those that like sweetish but not too sweet.

Yelp
Came on a Saturday afternoon and ordered the iced matcha latte. I saw a few options for syrup and asked the cashier what the kinfolx syrup was and she said it has a bit of citrus. I asked what she recommended for syrup to pair with the matcha latte and she said "whatever your heart desires," which was not helpful. So I ordered it with a simple syrup. Took about 10 mins for the drink to be ready. I was pretty disappointed when I tasted my drink. It had a strong mint flavor which means they either didn't wash out their tools properly or there was some cross contamination. The lack of care in the customer service as well as the mint flavor in my matcha is deterring me from coming back. Otherwise the ambiance inside looked cozy with quite a few seats. The seats were pretty full when we came too. Restrooms were clean.

Yelp
This cafe is so cute and I can't wait to come back! Ive always seen the venue packed during the evening because they promote and host community events! But stopping by during the day was definitely worth it! Came here around 10am on a Saturday and there was a light buzz to the place! They also had an awesome playlist going that consisted of oldies! Anyway, they have an easy & simple menu & great prices! The drinks were good and the matcha was made to perfection! I will say that the house special latte tastes better hot instead of being over ice! The bacon, egg, cheese sandwich was good too! I'd recommend getting it without the bacon! It seemed a little undercooked! Otherwise, this was a great experience and I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Fave! Kinfolx is my favorite cafe/wine bar anywhere. Urban and urbane is how I like to kick it. From the furniture to the art, the feel of the place is 100. I have to admit that I thought of it as a wine bar with great art at first. This is despite the fact that they opened in the old Tertulia space which I always appreciated as a café and gallery. But you know, first impressions are a thing and it had an immediate good buzz around the Town as a wine bar Black folx loved. But coming on a rainy afternoon I had the most delicious latte and the place was (almost) full of peeps of all shades laptoppin' and conversatin' - including tourists who rolled in with their roller bags. I guess Kinfolx is officially "on the map." Today, I was meeting with a brother to chop it up about an art and social justice project. Of course he suggested meeting here! This time I just got a cup of coffee, not an espresso drink, and I have to say that it was delicious. Plus, the vibe was on point as always. I met Kinfolx co-owner Creighton Davis at our nearby barber shop (shout out DapprDan's Barber Loft) and couldn't help but wax poetic to him about having such a fantastic Black-owned establishment keeping the culture vibrant and gentrifying forces try to drain the Blackness out of Oakland. Cultural displacement is a thing. But this corner of Uptown has a new cornerstone where we can be and thrive. Support it and enjoy!

Yelp
Super Duper Cute corner coffee shop in the heart of Oakland Drink: 3/5 I got a Chai Latte and the reason for the mid rating is that the chai was powder mix rather than my preferred in-house made Chai. The latte itself was pretty decent! Service: 5/5 Welcoming and friendly! Had a nice conversation with the owner and thought it was so sweet for him to be engaging with everyone that came and supported his space. My barista as also friendly and answered the questions I had with a smile! Environment: 5/5 Lots of different type of seating! This place is good really for any situation such as studying, reading, meeting with friends, group study and it all! Spacious and lots of plugs around for your devices.

Yelp
The lavender latte was very sugary, even though I did not ask for any sweetener. I told them I would be staying there, but they still gave me a paper cup for my drink, which was disappointing. Kinfolx has nice art on the walls, comfortable couches and chairs, and a huge space with lots of outlets and space to work or good music if you want to chat with friends.

J P.

Yelp
The main things I like about Kinfolx is the big space and hours (as it's open a little later than most coffee shops in the area). But besides that, it's pretty mid. The cashiers/baristas have never been welcoming/friendly and the drinks, whether I get a latte or cold brew, are mid. As long as you don't care about your drink or getting an attitude from the cashier, then this is a good spot to get work done on your laptop, study, etc. The coffee shop is pretty big but seats tend to fill up quickly.

Yelp
Great vibe, amazing food, and that Kinfolx Latte was incredible!!!!! I will be back and cannot wait.

Yelp
Finally a spacious cafe with comfortable seating!! I came by on a Sunday morning around 10am and it wasn't too busy. I ordered a brown sugar latte which was amazing and the perfect sweetness- it tasted like a hug in a cup. I absolutely loved the artsy interior with natural lighting and a space in the back with some couches.

Yelp
Food. Service. Ambiance. All were amazing. First time coming here. Food is delicious. Cortado was on point. Only down side was that it's so popular, there wasn't a seat available for a while. Great problem to have for Kinfolx.

Yelp
Love the decor and vibe of this place. It feels extremely welcoming and peaceful and clean! I appreciate the emphasis to welcome black and brown folk and the surplus of events offered for the community in this space. A couple of times I spent my entire work day here and was completely comfortable. Only issue is since it's such a great place seating can be limited and many people stay for a while since it's like a coworking space. Also, I thoroughly enjoyed my latte made with a delicious lavender syrup.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped by here before going to a concert at Fox Theater. It was really nice they have tea/coffee/alcoholic drinks, and plenty of seating. I didn't have to try hard to find a spot to sit. Lots of people are here with their laptops open doing homework/work.
google avatar

Angel L.

Yelp
Really fragrant jasmine tea, not oversteeped like most places! Was there during a bookstore collaboration event, which was super fun.
google avatar

Yelp
I ordered coffee here and enjoyed my Kinfolx latte- I thought it was yummy. ambiance is cozy and vibrant. Cons- this was my first time here and we were looking forward to trying this spot. As a first timer, you tend to ask for recommendations as I did while ordering. The girl that took our order was not helpful when inquiring about popular drinks and recommendations. She responded as "I don't know", leaving more of a polite service to be desired and representation to the business.
google avatar

Yelp
Love this coffee shop, love their coffee and food, events, the vibe! Whenever I have a friend nearby and they want to grab coffee I always suggest Kinfox!
google avatar

Yelp
Hella cute coffee bar with lots of tables and couches to sit and do some work. Staff are friendly and they offer a variety of drinks and food. I didn't take any pictures as the others captured the space pretty well already. The drinks are average price at about $7/cup. My only gripe is that outlets are sparse. The couches and tables aren't the cleanliness. The white leather couch can use a nice wipe down, I was hesitant to even sit on it. Some tables had some residual coffee spills and crumbs. Lots of dead bugs or spiderwebs near outlets too. Also, I guess depending on where you sit, there can be knats bothering you. I moved to the green velvet couch and couldn't stop swatting. Despite those things though, it was a good cup of matcha and beautiful decor. Hope they take care of the upkeep.

Yelp
Awesome cafe right near 19th st Bart! I love how it has plenty of seating and good vibes. You can tell how intentional they were about the space feeling communal. The drinks were standard cafe prices also. I got an iced vanilla latte with almond milk and it was good. They had a special house syrup but ran out when I went so I definitely will have to try it next time.
google avatar

Yelp
Comfortable ambiance. Lots of seating and a really yummy chai latte. Stop in, take a break in your day, chat with a friend, work a bit outside of the house. Great gathering spot.

Yelp
Really cute coffee shop, also Black owned, which is what really drew me there. Always trying to support. I did hear that it turns in to a wine shop later in the evening? But I was only there during the day. I ordered a matcha latte and a banana bread loaf. The matcha was ok. Some places are hit or miss with his much they add and that determines the sweetness of the drink. This place you definitely need to ask for a bit of sweetener if that's your vibe. Plenty of space for seating as well which I liked. My only dislike was the cashier wasn't very engaging when I came to order. Didn't seem like she wanted to be there. The vibe was definitely a bit weird. But overall I wouldn't let that deter me from going back.
google avatar

Yelp
I have been passing by this place for months. Finally I decided to have a customer meet me here. I normally meet them at Starbucks. The atmosphere is inspirational. I am a black professional. Looking around at all the other people of color handling their business is uplifting. Seeing people from the old neighborhood is also comforting. It's the best of both worlds. The perfect mix of the old and the new. The staff is courteous and welcoming. Peis absolutely amazing, I'm not sure if she's the manager, owner. If not she should be. She is always here and doing a fabulous job. Side note that Pesto Chicken sandwich is delicious. Gary

Yelp
First thought: This is a trendy cafe that happens to serve wine. Although I'm rating my experience 3-stars, the service at the counter was lovely and the person ringing us up was diligent in finding a wine to suit our pallets. ...That being said, the wine selections was pretty mid, with most of the options tasting quite young and astringent. To add, the ambience at first glance is so trendy and fun, but up close the cleanliness is questionable. We also ordered the tuna melt to try, and were pleasantly surprised! A fresh take of what we all know to be a classic tuna melt, with bright and exciting flavors. All-in-all, I see the vision and would revisit for a quick bite (to-go) but will pass on the wine selection.

Yelp
Kinfolx opened in Tertulia Coffee's vacated space. Interior tastefully upgraded with murals, plushy chairs, workstations, desks.... Was serviced quickly upon entering. Drink readied in minutes. Offerings: pastries, bagels, covfefe, wine pours Drink: cortado (4) -nice blend of Mr. Expresso premium roast with cinnamon. Easy sipping, smooth, -drinking in brings out a mug. -the usual covfefe options available. Drips: -soft music playing in background. -found seating in rear. -almost all seats in house occupied. *not enough covfefe places in Uptown. 4.5 stars easily 5 cuz I loved the drink, the ambience, the quick friendly service. If I frequented this place more, it will be 5 stars

Yelp
Amazing coffee. Boichik bagels. Super friendly staff and great vibes... what more could you ask for? Their mission is to be a safe space where everyone belongs, and as someone visiting downtown Oakland, this place definitely felt like a haven for me. It's true that it's hard to find seating, but how can you blame them? This cafe is so great that everyone wants to be there! :) If you need a table and fast Wi-Fi asap, it might not be your ideal spot, but it's more than possible to get some work done here and it's certainly worth checking out! Couldn't get over how wonderful this place was!!

Yelp
I wore a MAGA hat into this establishment and was promptly refused service on 10/14/2024. Disappointing. I heard a young woman exclaim "Oh God!" as I entered before I even had a chance to ask for anything. With the exception of my MAGA hat I am and was unassuming and very polite. I was told I was not welcome because the coffee shop is a Black female-owned business. The young woman also said something about the shop being anti-Imperialism and anti-Capitalism, which is interesting given they sell coffee in exchange for legal tender. I politely expressed my disappointment and left as requested. I had never been here before and will not return. The wonderful people at Terra Mia, just a block away, were more receptive to business.

Yelp
I looovvveedddddd the vibe in this space! It was very spacious and the decor, especially the Black art + the plants, made it feel so welcoming and peaceful. There was a good amount of seating and lots of people in there working/studying. The customer service was great as well. The cashier answered all of my questions and was patient with me as I looked over the menu, as it was my first time here. I ordered the bacon, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich ($12) and that was pretty good. A standard BEC on a brioche bun. They used a thicker cut of bacon than you normally find on breakfast sandwiches, so that was nice. I ordered a medium hot chocolate (about $5) for my mom and she said it was good, but the medium seemed more like a small. Not sure how many ounces the cup was. And for myself, I initially ordered one of the specials, the ube foam lavender latte. I am an ube STAN! And I love a good lavender latte, so I was excited for the drink. Unfortunately, I was not a fan of it though. It left a weird taste in my mouth, and I know it was because of the lavender syrup. I'm not sure what brand they use but I need to find out because I've had this experience with other lavender lattes, so I need to start avoiding that brand. I let the cashier know and asked to switch to a different latte. She was understanding and I instead ordered a brown sugar latte. I got it and it was just okay. I like my lattes on the sweeter side and this one wasn't very sweet, but it was better than the previous latte. Although I was a bit disappointed with the coffee, I'd still return and just order something else. I saw a review that said they host community events and they also have wine, so I'd opt in for that versus the coffee. This is all person preference though so I'd still recommend giving this place a try! I'm not local and I've had Kinfolx on my list for awhile, so I'm glad so finally made it in. Hopefully next time I come in, I can give it a full 5 stars!

Joel K.

Yelp
Service at the counter varied widely on three visits -- two of which were negative and one positive; so I guess it depends on who you get. Training concepts of friendly and welcoming are either not stressed sufficiently, or are just not taking with all the staff. They had peppermint tea, which, on a recent visit to Starbucks, I found to my surprise that herbal tea is now a menu option in coffeehouses that is no longer to be taken for granted. I had an oxtail tart in puff pastry that was excellent. If you want to converse with a friend, make sure there's no live music on the schedule at that time -- otherwise, either grab one of the few chairs out front, or forget about it!
google avatar

Emily R.

Yelp
The vibe is so good at Kinfolx! My tea was brewed to perfection and the vegan banana bread was on point! I also love that they have conscious events. So great to build community, get educated and drink good coffee all at the same place!

Yelp
Probably one of the best cafes I've been to in a while. The staff were friendly, the coffee was great, and the decor was lovely. The ambiance was also very nice, and during the day when I went, lots of people were working. I had a comfortable work experience here, and I would definitely come back if I were ever in the area. Even the toilets were well maintained and very, very fancy (it has a remote!). I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice place to work outside their apartment/house!

Selena L.

Yelp
This spot is kind of hidden; I've walked past on Telegraph so many times and never knew it existed! The cafe has a cozy vibe with lots of couches and tables available for seating. All the staff are super kind and friendly! I ordered a matcha latte and a bagel for breakfast, and sat down to do an hour of work. Both items were solid and I felt that the pricing was reasonable. The wifi didn't work, which was mildy annoying, but I didn't mind too much as I just used my hotspot.

Yelp
What a great neighborhood place. Great coffee and super nice staff! Wonderful and comfortable atmosphere.

Yelp
My friends and I decided to do a WFH/study date together and someone suggested, Kinfolx. First Timer: The scenery was beautiful calming experience to study and focus. The cafe was busy but there were enough plugs and areas to sit on a Friday at 10am. I was full so I didn't order anything this time around and could only stay a couple hours but I'll definitely be coming back to chill. I did go to the restroom and...(drumroll) they have a Japanese ToTo Toilet in there. It activated, spoke to me, there was a button panel attached to the wall, and the seat was heated. It was amazing! Must visit just for this experience. My friend said she ordered a plain latter with a sugar cookie and they were both really good.

Yelp
This place has a warmth to it that makes it cozy and comfy feeling! Love all the natural light in the space and it's got lots of seating options without feeling cramped!! The Kinfolx latte was amazing. I was a bit worried it would be too sweet or have an overwhelming orange flavor but it was perfect. A subtle flavor that really smoothed out the espresso. Very well balanced drink and honestly the best coffee I've had in Oakland! The coffee came out quickly and the staff were all super friendly! Im coming back tomorrow lol

Yelp
Gorgeous space. Super friendly staff. It was very busy but still not overwhelming as if everyone was happy to be there? Lots of folks working on laptops and I didn't mind at all. I met a friend around 11 and the pastries were all almost gone so I grabbed one for each of us and read a book till she arrived. Then, I ordered the foamiest ding dang oatmilk latte of MY LIIIIIIIFE! Legit was soooo disappointed when I got one from some other place the next day. What oatmilk do they use? Are they infusing it with pure joy? I wouldn't be surprised. My pain au chocolate was divine. The bathrooms. Have. Heated. Toilets. My booty was so HAPPY (I need to watch some tutorials on using the bidet, tho.) They're open till 11 and they serve wine! Very much looking forward to seeing how this spot evolves to be a community space. Go there NOW!

Yelp
I've been following Kinfolx on IG since late last year and was excited to finally get to visit this week. I walked from the 19th street Bart station and easily found it on the corner across from Shake Shack. The guy at the counter was super nice as three of us checked out the menu and decided what we wanted to order. In addition to their coffee menu, they had some pastries still (I was there around 3pm) as well as a cold section of canned/bottle drinks and wine. After learning what the Kinfolx latte was (like a vanilla latte but with orange), I got it iced at his recommendation and found a spot to settle down. There's a variety of 2-seater tables, soft seating, and in the back there was a larger table. I checked out the bathroom (fancy bidets) and grabbed my drink and worked. I had some issues with the wifi but I chalked that up to my laptop and not them and eventually got it sorted. They had a great playlist going (not too loud, not too soft), and there was a plug next to me although I didn't need it. Happy hour was my next destination after this so I didn't get a glass of wine but I'd love to come back in the evening to see how the vibe changes. Love it and wish them great success! We need more spots like this.

Yelp
Finally stopped in this amazing Black-Owned coffee shop in Oakland and it's great! It has such a great vibe! Great coffee and food options for breakfast and lunch! What more do you need?! Check it out!

Yelp
Cute place, great pastries, decent coffee including a decaf option. Service was surprisingly quick considering the place was reasonably busy. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
Pros -knowledgable staff -great art -great furniture -spaces -great coffee -great pastries -chill atmosphere -felt very inspired there -good noise level, can get work done or converse with folk. -they serve with gratitude -they don't accept cash Cons -the parking is limited in the area, Uber, Lyft, Bike, Bart or electric scooter there -a lot of people are going and it's understandable First impressions matter! This place was so warm and cozy. Thankful for my Kinfolx.

Yelp
I used to love this spot because it was always welcoming to everyone, no matter who you were or where you came from. But things have really changed over the past few months. There's been a noticeable shift, especially with how they treat Jewish people. During my last visit, one of the servers was visibly upset with me just for being Jewish. It's really disappointing, especially from a Black-owned business. I thought they'd understand the importance of keeping politics and prejudice out of a place meant for everyone. I hope they can get back to being the inclusive place they once were.

Yelp
Really busy place, and I understand why. We got matcha and the Kinfolx lattes. The kinfolx latte was yummy without being too sweet, which I really liked. My friend loved her matcha latte. It took a bit of time, but it was packed and the baristas take a lot of care in making the drinks. Lots of seating and clean bathroom. Highly recommend

Yelp
It's always a vibe at Kinfolx! Whether you're looking for a space to get some work done during the day or want to be social during one of their evening events, Kinfolx is the place to go! The owners are dope af and the staff is always on it. They have an incredible wine selection and their London Fogs go crazy. Kinfolx is a place Oakland definitely needed. 10/10 would recommend

Yelp
This is a cool space, looks perfect to settle in with your laptop. But what we did instead is grab an espresso, walk up the street to Miharu Ice Cream, and make DIY affogatos. This would be a perfect team up, right? The staff did hint that Miharu is going to be doing an ice cream with their syrup flavor? Even more reason to make this a thing!

Yelp
Absolutely love this space. Good vibes, art and plenty of plugs. Great place to meet up with friends and community. The downfall though is the internet. It's the slowest connection I've experienced in a min! Which is why I couldn't give it a 5 star rating. So if you're trying to go kick it, read a book, come here! If you're trying to work where internet is essential, maybe find another place.
