Yelp
I've had several experiences with this place that have led to my poor review.
Price: This place is insanely expensive for what it's worth. Their rates are based on party size, room size, and duration, though their high prices don't warrant what you get out of the experience. First you have to put down a substantial deposit ahead of time. After your night, you are provided a receipt for all costs, including a large rental fee (why is it not included as part of the room?) and an included, non-negotiable 20% gratuity. They also try to catch you with an additional tip if you don't read the receipt correctly. Yes you can have orders taken and drinks provided by the employees to your room (which is put on the room bill at the end), but you can also go straight to the bar to order yourself.
Atmosphere: Overall, the whole place has a nice aesthetic. Sleek metallic walls, (mostly) sound proof rooms, clean rooms and areas, and fun lighting is found throughout. But right when you walk in, you're greeted with poor service (I'll get to that later) and then have a hard time in the rooms. Basically, it's all a facade.
System: The karaoke system is incredibly finicky and consistently shuts down or freezes on you, resulting in the employees having to come in to reboot it during your time - many, many times. For example, my last reservation there we had a room for 3 hours and it froze after every song and shut down completely probably 10 times. The workers blame the slow network, but if that's the case then they should invest in better technology or instead lower their prices. When searching for songs, you can never find anything. It's an odd search functionality where you must type in the first letter of each word to find what you're looking for instead of the full phrase of artist. Most of the preloaded songs are all in Mandarin, so with that searching for songs or artists in English is a chore in itself. They do offer the YouTube app to search for and play songs, so that is helpful. Sound, light options, and volume are all good, but if the full karaoke system shuts down consistently, it far out outweighs that.
Drinks: Drinks are very pricey. For example, a plain vodka soda is $15+ - so no matter what you get, that adds up fast.
Service: One girl there is friendly (to an extent), but all others I've encountered could not be bothered to provide good service. This goes for those working the front desk, the bar staff, and everyone in between. Going back to tip, if 20% is already included - and if they're asking for more, one would expect this place to have welcoming, helpful employees.
Rooms: Overall, the rooms are nice. Ample and comfortable seating, large tables, and larger rooms have private bathrooms. Biggest downside is the AC - it rarely works, does not extend to the full room when working, the employees constantly have to come and work on it, and to mediate it they have put poor-working fans in the rooms to "help". Let me tell you, they do not work and the rooms are always so, so hot.
Ultimately, I recommend finding a different place for your karaoke experience.
