Seattle’s New Restaurant Openings

"This trendy SLU sports bar now has a second location in Bellevue’s Lincoln Square Mall. It may come in handy if you need to fuel up on loaded tots and beer before a trip to Nordstrom Rack. " - kayla sager riley, aimee rizzo, gabe guarente

King Leroy - Review - Denny Triangle - Seattle - The Infatuation

"We had high hopes for this all-day bar smack in the middle of Amazon territory, especially since it’s owned by the team behind Bateau and The Walrus And The Carpenter. However, King Leroy feels like a half-baked dive bar plopped in a neighborhood that didn’t really ask for one. Between mediocre jalapeño artichoke dip, buttermilk-brined wings that could use more crunch, and a seared bologna sandwich loaded with way too much smokiness and raw onion, the pub snacks here miss the mark. King Leroy would still be a decent late-night option in South Lake Union, though, and we wouldn’t mind stopping in for evening cocktails and beer, or a blackened cod sandwich, but only if Gold Bar is packed. photo credit: King Leroy" - Aimee Rizzo

Google
Stumbled into King Leroy while on a solo day running errands. Sat at the bar which was extremely comfortable and inviting with comfortable chairs. The bartender was super friendly and served up a great dirty martini! Ordered the Jalapeno cheddar Hush Puppies- which if I being honest I found salty and a bit undercooked. Definitely not a bad experience overall however, would definitely return!

Google
Yummy cocktails! Definitely on the pricey side but this place is a vibe. If you don’t get seating near the front at the bar, there’s more seating on the Great State Burger side.

Came here for dinner and drinks and it was super chill! The bartender was cool and friendly and the food was absolutely delicious! Highly recommend the hush puppies!

Google
Good dive bar. We went on a Wednesday and not crowded but it’s cool. The wings are good and nachos were cool. Just a spot to check out while on travel to Seattle.

Right in the heart of Amazon SLU, King Leroy has a trying to dive bar feel to it, except it's clean, has huge natural light windows and some interesting cocktails. Didn't try any of the food here but it looked good. Bar service is quick and attentive. One tip: it may look big but the acoustics of this place is loud, so keep that in mind.

Chill little place to grab a drink in SLU and catch a game without dealing with big crowds. Drink menu was really good, the hibiscus paloma just tastes like summertime on the patio.

Stopped in for a quick lunch so I can't comment on the bar aspect, but the cauliflower wings were pretty good. I like that they were very lightly breaded, and had a nice pickled flavor. I did not like the BBQ sauce. Chicken wings were good too, just on the pricey side for a few wings. Nice atmosphere and service was prompt.

Google
So good!! The drinks and the food, both excellent. Great service, fast and friendly (counter-service). Cool and laid-back vibe, with good outdoor space. Very reasonable prices. Small space though, so plan ahead as I expect it will get busy fast. The Food - Cod Sandwich: excellent. The fish is perfectly seasoned and cooked, melt in your mouth. Not too much cabbage, great sauce, homemade pickles were great. Burger: great, as always. Chicken wings: incredible! New favorite wings in Seattle. The buffalo and ranch both were delicious, seemed homemade. Dill dip: so good! Went great with the wings and tatertots too. The Drink - Milk punch: really good, definitely on the sweeter side. Daiquiri: perfect! An excellent traditional daiquiri, no extra sweetness. Chilcano: so good! The homemade soda was great, and balanced exactly right with the pisco. Not too sweet, not too boozy. Good beer selection. All around, a great casual restaurant. More of a bar feel, so probably for adults only. Awesome that it's over a free garage, too. Great for a quick stop or sit down for a meal. As always, Renee Erickson has put out an excellent eatery. Dare I say, everything she touches is gold.

Yelp
Food was meh. Service is super slow they are so understaffed so for service they tell you to go wait in line at the bar for drinks when you get have a table. Lots of tech bros but pretty basic.

Yelp
We came to King Leroy for happy hour which ends at 6p. The wings are really good. I got my wings with the buffalo sauce and it was great. It's only 6 swings, so we also got the tater tots. The tots are decent, but not super filling - probably wouldn't order them again with just two people, but would be good to get for the table with a lot of people. Great value especially at happy hour. Quick and easy, order at the bar and they bring food to you.

Yelp
Came here on my lunch, got extremely slow service at the bartop. Ordered a really huge and bland chicken sandwich. I wasn't in a hurry at all and it still felt like forever to get my bill and a box!

Yelp
True what they say, service isn't particularly friendly unless they know you. But otherwise, a chill spot to post up for a beer or some bar food in an otherwise very tech overrun area. You can order a burger from next door and bring it over. A+ Seattle decor.

Yelp
I went to King Leroy on a weekend evening, and every weekend there is an all day happy hour. This means that the chicken wings and tater tots (along with cauliflower wings) are half off, and I ordered the chicken wings with buffalo sauce and tater tots with habanero honey sauce. I thought the wings were nice and crispy but still retained good flavor and were juicy. The buffalo sauce seemed to have more of a vinegar flavor, so I wasn't the biggest fan of it. The tater tots were also crispy, and I enjoyed the habanero honey because it was more sweet than spicy. I really appreciated how the food came with moist towelettes. King Leroy has a very casual setting, but it's still good for conversation. You order at the bar counter and can sit down at one of the booths or barstools. There is limited booth seating, but the barstools at the counter were comfortable and had back support. It is 21+ and you're expected to show your ID at the bar counter right when you walk in.

Yelp
Of all the pub style places in the area (I.e., SLU, Belltown, etc.) I have liked this one the best by a long shot. They have a diner feel with the decor like the vinyl seats and jukebox, but still modern enough. Very clean and tidy. The HH specials were also better than usual with the half priced food and several discounted drinks. Many NA cocktails too! We thought the food was well done and super reasonable with the HH prices. Lots of vegetarian options and vegan ones. The cauliflower wings were a HUGE portion like they gave me a whole head of cauliflower so definitely for sharing or hungry hungry hippos occasions. Mine was the latter so I was happy and enjoyed the honey habeñero sauce. The bartender was super friendly and helpful and checked IDs at the door, which was nice too. Also this spot is dog friendly indoors and we enjoyed greeting our fellow pooch patron on the way out. Would definitely come back!

Yelp
Cool space. Yucky food. It's an order at the bar type spot so nothing against the bartender who also brought our food out she was friendly. Had to go back to the order line for a knife for the concrete hush puppies... we were so disappointed because we were looking forward to them.

Yelp
Favorite work happy hour spot. It has the good food, great bartenders, and decent prices I want from my favorite dive bar, and it's in SLU!!

Yelp
Stopped by for a quick dinner while staying in the area. Atmosphere was pretty good. Food was mediocre. Service was kind of lacking no follow up on how things were.

Yelp
Cozy small bar in the Amazon area that serves decent food and good drinks. Best of all, if you work at Amazon, this place can connect to the Amazon WPA WiFi, so if you're oncall, you won't have to connect to a VPN and can work directly from the WiFi which is super convenient! The prices are also not too high so you won't feel too bad ordering a lot of stuff during a team outing. The best drink I tried was the Pina Colada. It was their rotating slushy cocktail so they might not have it anymore, but if they do, you have to try it. It was super refreshing and I barely tasted any alcohol. I mostly just got the sweet and tangy pineapple flavor with hints of the aromatic flavor of coconut. The chicken wings here are also pretty good. They came out really hot and crispy so you know they're fresh. I wish they were tossed in sauce instead of sauce coming on the side but otherwise it was a solid chicken wing. Most of the food and drinks here were solid, nothing outstanding but still pretty good. Overall, a nice place to come during a team happy hour.

Yelp
Try their new pumpkin spice margarita slushy while it's in season Great bar with lovely staff and tasty food! Also they ARE open on weekends, disregard what Apple Maps says

Yelp
This location is one of 10+ restaurants owned by Nathan Yaeger, who strongly thinks that companies with offices downtown should force their workers to come in, even when those people live far away and are perfectly capable of doing the same work from home: https://www.geekwire.com/2024/businesses-around-amazon-hq-are-bustling-a-year-after-tech-giants-return-to-office-mandate/ Being forced to commute somewhere you do not need to be is effectively a tax, it is a reduction in income, it also causes a ton of traffic and pollution for everyone living in Seattle and the immediate area. It actively makes everyone's lives worse EXCEPT rich business owners like Nathan, who advocate for other businesses to subsidize their profits by FORCING people to come to where their business is. They lobby politicians to make that happen. Rather than work to make the area around their businesses affordable to live, they want "tourists" from outside the city who they can charge more Why do businesses get to advocate for taxing ordinary customers, and reducing their income, and expect to be rewarded with more business? Why should I watch Nathan try to steal from me, and then happily patronize his business? I will not patronize ANY business owned by Nathan Yaeger, and I hope others join me.

Yelp
Great spot with a chill vibe. It was busy without being too loud and we had no issue with timely service. The food is supplied by great state burgers next door and we ordered the nachos to share. Very tasty queso on top! The bartenders were totally cool with us requesting multiple dipping sauces to try. The habanero honey was a fave! The cocktails were yummy and pretty average Seattle prices. $11-15 bucks a drink. We will definitely be back after work!

Yelp
Stopped by after work for happy hour and was very pleased! Servers are very friendly! Loved the option to sit outside and enjoy Seattle summers!

Yelp
Great Bar, Great Atmosphere, Good Wings. The wings are like a fried chicken style. I had them with the Buffalo Sauce. Also had a Boundary Bay Red Irish Ale that was great.

Yelp
expensive horrible food for small portions. I ordered the chicken wings and the breading was so dense and dry. Did not taste fresh at all. I don't typically write Yelp reviews but this place was a big disappointment.

Yelp
From the location to the staff to the food: it doesn't get much better! I went with the chicken wings as they had it front and center on the menu, and they were whole wings, buttermilk fried. This isn't your moms bar food by any means. And the rosemary lemonade was house made. It's nice to have NA options

Yelp
Awesome little bar--super nice staff. Beer selection is solid, and the food is great. Really nice atmosphere, SLU-local crowd. I think this place is (currently) really under-appreciated--it's usually not too crowded, and I think that'll probably change as folks figure out it's a cool place.

Yelp
Unfortunately, this was SUPER disappointing. My friends and I had high hopes since this is a Renee restaurant, however, the food was mediocre at best. We were expecting elevated bar food, and it didn't meet the mark. The fried chicken was bland, the artichoke dip came with a basket full of broken chips, and the jalapeño poppers just tasted... off. Overall the food was bland and lacking flavor/seasoning. Hoping this place can turn it around. Really wanted to like it!

Alexa N.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch because all other restaurants in the area were booked with reservations. No wait here! Ordered the taco salad and it was soo refreshing on a hot day. Quick service and great food. Restaurant is small, sat along the window bar and got to people watch a bit as I enjoyed my meal.

Binh T.

Yelp
Great food, love the nachos and Buffalo cauliflower. Come here often for hawks games and can't wait to see the scene for Mariners season!

Monty F.

Yelp
Great ambiance but I have to be honest...the food was terrible. I ordered the 3 wings and tots. The tots were fine but the wings were a big disappointment. The chicken tasted old and they were very tough...almost as if they were not fully cooked but they were. This was probably because they were very big wings that probably would have tasted better if they were cooked longer. Lastly, the wings also had way too much breading. I tried my best to eat them but I could only eat one. Because of the size, my recommendation would be to brine the wings for 3-4 hours to tenderize them and add flavor.

Christopher J.

Yelp
horrible. bartender completely rude. asked about drink selections looking for an after dinner drink. he was not friendly and was very short with us and rude. definitely won't walk back in this place.

Yelp
Came here on a whim for the Seahawks game, so food wasn't at the top of my list. But surprisingly, I think I may have found the best nachos I've had in the city. A couple things stood out for me- For one, they used a combo of regular shredded cheese but also used queso sauce! 2nd, instead of piled high on a plate, they went attention to detail here, and it's served on a rectangular tray with all the chips spread out evenly. So each chip or bite is all the ingredients together, instead of cheese and meat here, only veggies on another chip, one chip too soggy, etc. It was a very nice touch. The other thing I tried was the fried cauliflower wings. Amazing flavor and crunch. Paired with buffalo wing sauce it was incredible. I go through stretches where I try to limit meat consumption, this is high on my list of things I'll come by to eat when I want to splurge but stay veggie only. (I didn't ask if it's Vegan, so make sure you ask if that's your goal). Overall, great experience, staff was great, nice location across the street from the Amazon Globes, I'll definitely be back to try some more stuff, (Customers near me said the Fried Chicken sandwich was very good too).
