Where to Eat and Drink Around Merrifield and Dunn Loring

"Kirby is an exciting addition from Compass Rose and Maydan owners Rose Previte and Mike Schuster. Expect the same attention to Lebanese and Middle Eastern condiments and spreads, a festive party platter of kebabs for small groups, excellent falafel, and colorful cocktails. Wraps, bowls, and shawerma make up the lunch menu." - Missy Frederick

8 Exciting New Restaurants to Know, December 2022 | Bon Appétit

"From the team behind Maydan, the D.C. spot that landed on Bon Appétit’s Best New Restaurants list in 2018, comes Kirby Club. At this Eastern Mediterranean restaurant, kebabs are king. The menu revolves around kebabs like dukka shrimp and chicken shish taouk, as well as dips and spreads and large shareable plates. The restaurant pays homage, both in its food and design, to the Lebanese American social club that co-owner Rose Previte’s grandparents started in Ohio in 1933." - ByKate Kassin

I tried out this restaurant for the first time today! I had this urge for chicken and rice, so it was the perfect time to go there. It’s a cute restaurant in the heart of the Mosaic District! It’s literally located right underneath the big movie screen! I got the chicken with rice and a salad. I thought it was wonderful! The chicken and rice were extremely tasty. I also even really enjoyed the little salad. The only thing I was a little disappointed by is that there was no bread. On the app, it gave me an option to order “extra bread” so I assumed they’d be at least some bread. I found the portion to be a perfect size. I was plenty full at the end and even ended up having some leftover. I just found it all to be very tasty, fresh, and well prepared. I would definitely go there again! I look forward to trying out their hummus and fries next time. It also looks like they are really pushing their happy hour specials now, so It could be a good place to visit with friends.

Tried this place out on my first visit to the Mosaic District and was beyond satisfied with my experience. The food was extremely flavorful, ingredients so fresh, and arrival prompt. Three of us shared one of the platters along with an appetizer (brussel sprouts), and it was plentiful. We all loved the flavors of the dish. The staff was friendly and constantly checked on us too narrow sure we didn't go without anything. The seating in spacious, both inside and out. I cannot wait to go back!

Decided to try this place out, and I was very much impressed. The staff is very attentive and gives their customers such good care. The hospitality was just amazing. Even the ambiance gave the whole restaurant an inviting atmosphere. Not only that, but the food was phenomenal itself. Their havuc (carrot dip) is incredibly addicting as well as the grilled red pepper dip. The meat was seasoned very well, giving my food amazing flavor. I typically don’t like chicken, but the chicken dish I got was absolutely phenomenal. The cocktails served not only tasted great but were aesthetically pleasing (and perfect for pictures). Before I left, I got the date soft serve ice cream and it eas absolutely delicious. There was a little salt sprinkled on, giving it a perfect balance of salty and sweet. It tasted similar to salted caramel and overall was delicious. Everything from the food to the environment at Kirby Club was fantastic and I will definitely be going back.

Google
One of the Mosaic District’s good restaurants, it is conveniently located in the middle of all major venues (market, outdoor park, movie theater) and offers both indoor and on-street parking. The Lebanese food and service during lunch time are quite good. We tried several main dishes, as shown in the photos. Highly recommended.

Google
The food is fantastic! We got the 3 dips and the Kebab Shindig. They also have really good mocktails. I highly recommend for a date night if you love mediterranean food. The manager gave us a complimentary date ice cream and it was incredible!! We are definitely coming back!

Google
Love the style of the restaurant, Tasty food & very nice ambience. There is bar area as well, Good place to hangout with friends or family. Kirby salad is too good. Veg options are limited but they have good customization options.

Google
Came here for lunch and ordered the chicken shawarma “platter”. The flavor was great but the portions were pathetic for $17…. I felt like this was a kids meal bc I ate it all in 10 mins then was hungry again the next hour. This is my second time coming here and the owners are connected to maydan in dc so I expect improvements. The service was a little eh… the managers were busy kicking the birds or working in their laptops in the dinning room. I had to ask for my check 3 times before getting up. Flavorful food, just eh service and small portions….

Google
Kirby club does a tremendous job infusing flavor in their dishes, some of which are new flavors even to the most seasoned middle eastern foodie. You will absolutely enjoy the food and ambiance at this new restaurant. You should DEFINITELY go try it out. I'd probably give them 5 stars for flavor, 5 stars for service, but where they fall just a little short is their portion sizes amd overall "back home" attention to detail in their mediterranean food. Don't get me wrong, food was awesome but little things (that I shared with their management) would take it over the top. The bread tasted fresh but wasn't served hot. The kabob platter for 4 didn't feel like a great value at the $80 price point. This place is new and they are learning but adding more rice, some potatoes, and other touches like larger amounts of the amazing pickled sides would be great. I think also the eggplant we ordered ended up having cumin dashed on it, they should have opted for sumac or something. Also, that night their soft serve machine wasn't working. Go with an open mind and not with a gigantic appetite unless you want to shell out $40-$50 or person.

Yelp
This review is on the happy hour only: It's definitely one of the places to go for happy hour at Mosaic. My friends and I sat at the bar, and the bartender was sweet, and very attentive. Their happy hour is called "golden hour" and it's Mon-Fri from 3-7pm, and also have daily specials. I loved their dip + drink for $10 as you get to pick one of any of the dips with unlimited bread. I enjoyed the three dips I tried: minty labneh, grilled red pepper dip and havuc. Only their house wines and draft beers are the drink specials on the happy hour menu, however they have cocktail specials depending on the daily special. I definitely will come back for happy hour again, or try a meal next time.

Yelp
They have really good dips and their combo platters were delicious! My favorite part of the meal was trying all the different dips with their pita chips and bread. The best dip for me was the red pepper and garlic dips. Olive dip was a bit too salty for my palate. The veggie platter was good and I definitely liked it more than the meat platter. Their falafel patties were crispy and flavorful. I really liked the grilled eggplants, mushrooms and peppers!! I made a small pita pouch, smothered with some dips inside and stuffed it with the grilled veggies and some pickled veggies! So yummy! I also liked their yogurt dressing salad. Friendly service. Casual dining space and bar.

Yelp
3.5 stars. I was excited to try this place since I enjoyed Maydan, but it fell just a bit short for me. We sat at the bar for Golden Hour, which is their happy hour Monday-Friday 3-7pm. Our server/bartender was friendly, but not as attentive as I'd like. He did give us a free hummus for a mess up order (not his fault)! I tried the Mango Cooler, and did not like it at all. It tasted artificial and way too sweet and sour? We started with Grilled Red Pepper Dip with walnuts and pomegranate and paired with pita. I actually really enjoyed this! The pita was nice and fluffy. It was probs the second best pita I've had (Yellow has the best). We also got Lebanese Chicken Wings, Personal Pupu Platter with Chicken (happy hour only) with Hummus, and Za'atar Crinkle Fries. All were not bad, but nothing really stood out to me. I did not like their Creamy Toum and Savory Chermoula sauces, to be honest. The toum lacked the strong garlic flavor I usually love. My favorite thing was the flavorful chicken kebab, but there are more affordable options in the area.

Yelp
I went here when Kirby Club was doing restaurant week for the whole month of February ( it got extended ) and I was ready to indulge in some great food! Inside is beautiful with a bar in the middle. I honestly think the scenery here could be great as a backdrop for photos. For restaurant week, you get to pick your first course ranging from Hummus, Havuc, Olive Goodness, Grilled Red Pepper or Minty Labneh. I really like Hummus so I opted for that. The bread you get dipped with the hummus is really delicious and I honestly thought the lemon added some extra zest to the dish. Really delicious. Course two is either a Gold Plate or a Green Plate. Since I got the Gold Plate, it consists of Chicken Shish Taouk, Kofta and Turmeric Rice. If you have ever been to any kabob place, it's similar to where you get grilled pieces of chicken and beef over rice. I can't really explain what makes it so good but when the Gold Plate came out, I did not hesitate at all. I really enjoyed it! Course three was dessert and I got the Apricot Cake. It's a slice of Pound Cake with Orange Honey & Pistachios. It wasn't too sweet but it was sweet enough where I could taste the sweetness of the honey and the soft cake together. One giant harmonious fusion of goodness. My server was also very nice and I will also say that they were delighted to see me enjoy my food. I will have to come back to try out more of the menu!

Yelp
Fabulously fresh kabobs and dips and salads. Solid 3.75. Wish our salad has less dressing was less soggy - and our chairs / floors were pretty dirty with rice and bread from previous diners. Service was super kind and attentive, and food delicious. Cute interior that is welcoming but just needs a little TLC. Also LOVE LOVE LOVE the mini fresh grapefruit juice cans- bravo for that !! We'd go back !

Yelp
This restaurant is great. We had a lunch reservation and were seated right away. The interior is colorful yet elegant. I loved the natural light, warm hues, fun light fixtures, and wall decor--it gave the place a pleasant and lively vibe. We first ordered the dip trio--we chose the hummus, minty labneh, and grilled red pepper dip. They were all good, but the minty labneh was by far my favorite. We also had the fried Brussels and shawarma sliders as appetizers. The Brussels sprouts were fantastic. The sliders were good but the only item I could've gone without. As the entree, my family of four ordered the Kofta Shindig. It tasted amazing--the perfect medley of meats. The rice, sauces, and bread were good accents to the dish. We had the perfect amount of food. The service was excellent--everyone was friendly and accommodating... especially our amazing waitress. I recommend, especially if you're looking for a good balance between a nice and casual meal.

Yelp
We came for happy hour. They don't tell you this but happy hour menu is only if you sit at the bar. I got the hibiscus fizz mocktail which was fizzy and light for summer. It gives like cluby vibes in Middle East. The service was quick and the waitress was super nice. The zaatar fries were my favorite with pairing of the whippy creamy dip. We got the kebab platter isn't enough for 4 people but I loved all the meat which was made with enough seasoning and the right texture

Yelp
Kirby Club has become a go to for me when I'm in town. Service is always good. The food -- Yummy! And the the drinks are great concoctions. I typically sit at the the bar because there has always been space and the bartenders are kind. I've never had a bad meal here. It is a mediterranean concept, so while they have some typical items they may not have everything you're looking for.

Yelp
4.5: Great tasting food, good service and ambiance in a cute shopping complex Came here on a Monday afternoon and it was empty. The menu isn't big but if you are open to kebabs, hummus, pita type things you'll be fine. The lunch special chicken Shwarma dish was delicious! Chicken tender, fragrant rice, nice salad, hummus, chips. Best thing was you didn't feel gross afterward. The seating surrounds a bar area and there's also outdoor seating if you prefer. I'd love to return when it's a little more bustling. There are quite a few good food places in this area including True Food and I think most people would find something they'd like!

Yelp
The food and service were excellent, but the meat was slightly too salty and overseasoned.

Yelp
Came to Kirby Club on a whim during restaurant week. It's in a beautiful location with good views, but the food was a bit of a miss for me throughout. For my starter, I got the hummus. This felt like Sbarro hummus with a touch of lemon on it. It was fine but it really wasn't special, even though the presentation was beautiful. I could've just gone to Safeway.... The fries were next and they were perfectly crispy. However they desperately needed salt on it and the labneh dip was hard to dip into... the texture was hard that I thought it was like a weird cottage cheese at first I got the golden plate which came with a choice of couscous and basmati rice with chicken and kofta. I'm not a chicken person but the chicken was fire. It was cooked and seasoned well, and the sauce on top added some flavor to it. The kofta was over seasoned or maybe it just didn't have a good blend in it... was not too fond of it. The couscous was also so boring, no spices or anything in it, just bland. The dessert was an apricot pound cake. The flavor on it was good but it was pretty dense, and I couldn't tell if it was just slightly stale or meant to be like that... Not sure if I'd return here but cute views!

Yelp
My wife and I went to Kirby club for their Valentine's Day special. First thing that stood out was the preparedness of the staff to seat us right away. Secondly, the restaurant's interior looks so much better in person. I loved the atmosphere. We did the 3-course dinner special with wine pairings. Every part of the meal was delicious and the bartenders were very busy, yet very attentive to us. And I can't forget to mention the rest of the staff, all contributing to a wonderful experience. Thank you for making our Valentine's Day a special one!

Yelp
Kirby Club is a Lebanese restaurant in Tyson's Corner, VA (Mosaic District). It serves fresh and flavorful food and has great service. Our waitress was super nice and accommodating to my family's needs and food preferences. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. It's a great place to take aesthetic pictures and enjoy a quaint and modern ambiance. The restaurant is very hygienic and good for a nice family outing with picky eater parents or a semi-fancy date. The food was expensive for the portion size, but the taste and quality make up for it. The minty labneh with sumac chips was super refreshing and a great appetizer for the chicken shawarma plate. The chicken was juicy and seasoned well for the shawarma and kebabs and was served with side salads that complemented the rice and chicken nicely. I'd recommend this place for a birthday lunch or special occasion.

Yelp
Overall a great experience! First time here with a party of five! Pros: Food: All the food tasted delicious! Dip trio (hummus, lemon and dill yogurt, and the red pepper with pomegranate seeds-my personal favorite) were all fresh and cake with plenty of pita bread. The fries-nicely cooked and the whipped feta that came with it was good! Wish they included more marmalade and dip. The shin dig platter for two. We added on an extra chicken skewer and lamb skewer. All the meat were flavorful and juicy. I enjoyed the sauces that came with the platter. The rice was cooked very well as well as the veggies. The mushroom not my favorite, a little mushy for me. Also more pita came with it so you could make a sandwich! Salad that came with it was also very good! Drinks: mango juice, ice tea, spicy mango margaritas-all good! Service-Our server was excellent and took very good care of us. We even met one of the managers who made sure that our meal was going well! Also other staff would help out or make side all was going well. A nice team effort. Inside: Nice space and nicely decorated inside. Cons: Food: Small portions for the amount of money. The fries were very small for $8 The extra sauces for $2, yes we had a larger group sharing but even the size that is given on the platter is pretty small! Margarita-It was great tasting but for $14 dollars?!? Not very large. Inside: They had their large inside/outside doors open so the restaurant was not that cool.

Yelp
Updating my review to reflect my great experience with small group catering at Kirby Club. My wife and I catered a 12 person dinner from here and opted for a 5 person and a 10 person package of appetizers, kababs, rice, and bread. I worked with Walker to select a menu and customize options, and communication was consistent and pleasant. On the day of pickup, my order was freshly prepared and neatly packaged. My guests highly enjoyed the variety of dips (especially the roasted red pepper and the hummus), the soft bread, juicy kebabs, and tasty condiments. Do note that if your guests have large appetites, you may find the quantities a little less than expected. We supplemented our order with a few homemade items and had about 2 meals worth of leftovers, meaning that our 15 person order likely would have fed 12 people without supplements. Still, we paid about $20 a head for our order and found the value good given the quality and freshness of cooking. If in need of catering for a small gathering that offers excellent Middle Eastern flavors, I highly recommend Kirby Club.

Yelp
Wow talk about flavor!!! My friends and I made a reservation for a Sunday and we were quickly seated upon arrival. The interior of the restaurant is so colorful and vibrant! My friends and I decided to share the kebab shindig, french fries, and brussels sprouts. This order was enough to share with three people. The shindig came with an assortment of pickled veggies, sauces, and meat. I don't really eat lamb so we subbed the kofta with the falafel. Everything was extremely flavorful! I think the falafel was the most memorable since it had a slight crisp to it. I liked how pita was also served with the platter so that you can make your own pita. The french fries were good, but not memorable. The brussel sprouts were good and had a slight tang to it. Definitely would come back to this restaurant again.

Yelp
Don't let the name confuse you- Wonderful Lebanese spot in the heart of Mosaic! They import alcohol from Lebanon too which really sets it apart from other spots (wine from Ksara, Almaza Pilsner beer). We started with the shindig (great group sides dish to pair with an entree), zaatar fries (could benefit from an extra round of frying for extra crispiness), Brussels and salad (zaatar vinaigrette was delicious) . I was bummed there was no tabbouleh on the menu but maybe some time soon ? ;p For the main we got the mixed grill plate which was a mixed success . Included chicken (shish taouk - so tender, perfectly cooked), the kafta (good, a little dry), falafel (best I've had in the dmv), and the steak (lahme- inedible and dry). All served with toum (Lebanese garlic sauce - smidge too watered down). Overall very good med food for the area, and great atmosphere facing the heart of mosaic with both outdoor and indoor seating. They're in doordash as well. Tried the mushroom kebab there another day and sadly they were not cooked properly, rendering them extremely rubbery. I recommend sweating them out before grilling. Though a few things could have improved, all are minor. Will definitely return! Staff was warm and attentive as well.
google avatar

Melody C.

Yelp
The restaurant is very beautiful and the service is kind, the food is smaller portions than what you think you would get, if in a group setting i suggest getting the shareable plates. I got the falafel kabob platter and it was filling. The sauce it comes with is really good and really adds to the taste of the couscous. The hummus dip is very runny and oily and not the best I have had. The salads are a good size and delicious. The brunch Battata Harra is very small and mostly potato's, i wouldn't recommend this if your really hungry and want more then just potato and egg.
google avatar

Whitney L.

Yelp
This restaurant is so underrated I don't know how else to explain it! The menu is simple and ideal for large groups to share various dishes. We started with the tepsi kebab (highly recommended), 3 hummuses (minty labneh, havuc and grilled red pepper dip) and the kebab shindig with an order of lamb on the side (amazing by the way). The cocktails were just okay to me. Ordered a pitcher of mango margarita, but I wasn't too impressed. Service was great. We were seated at a table but later had to move for a bigger party. I wasn't crazy about it, but the staff were nice enough to offer a free drink because of it.

Yelp
Food - 4.75 service - 4 ambiance -4 Overall it's a solid 4.5. We got the trio dip with pita as a starter. Really loved the yogurt and the hummus, so flavorful and the pita was very soft. The carrot dip was a little interesting, kind of like baby food. I would rather have gotten the olive dip. We got the Brussels which were pretty good but my table thought the meat tasted funny, and maybe cooked a little too charred. But the pomegranate syrup on it was delicious. The 3 platters we shared were very good. I liked the salad, and it came with either rice or couscous , our favorite was the kofta or the chicken. It tastes healthy and not too oily. Ambiance is nice - the seating booths were comfortable and cozy. The bar takes up most of the restaurant. I think I would return only for takeout. Platters were about $18 per which is reasonable.

Yelp
This is a go to place for me. The food is good, but there are a few things that warrant a star deduction. Service: I usually sit at the bar because getting service at a table can be tricky. You really have to flag someone down to get help. It's not that they are inattentive. They're running around all over the place and are very pleasant, but be prepared to wait for a while to get your order in. Also, weekend reservations book up fast. That said, I sit at the bar begrudgingly because one of the main bartenders is just unpleasant. As another reviewers said, he is a penny pincher and what seems like a pain around/with his colleagues; they do not laugh when he jokes with them. Food: Great food. All of the dips are excellent. Kebab shindig is really where it's at to try a bit of everything. Sometimes though the meats are overcooked, particularly on busy evenings. And if you get extra dressing for the salad cause all you got was olive oil and no flavor, the bartender will charge you extra. Comfort: No air conditioning in the middle of June in Virginia is a bit of a problem. I saw a family leave because it was too hot for their kids. Maybe it's a temporary issue, but outside was cooler and they could have opened up the doors to let some airflow in. Overall, I recommend giving it a try. Go early and sit outside if the weather allows you to. This way you can people watch while you wait for the server.
google avatar

Ak S.

Yelp
Mediocre Lebanese food. Not a clean establishment food crumbs and hair on chairs and benches. Service is just below average incompetent staff. The bartender is a sleazy penny pinchers. Never again!

Yelp
Kirby Club was a good experience. It's very pretty and welcoming. I loved the decor. I went for Restaurant Week, so I got to try a few different dishes. I didn't love the hummus or the salad--both were way too bitter/sour for me. And that's coming from someone who loves both bitter and sour flavor profiles. I would not order either again. The kofta and shish taouk entree was very flavorful and I liked both kabobs and the rice. The date soft serve really stood out to me though because I love both dates and soft serve, so this was perfect. Service was really friendly. I'd come back to try a cocktail or if needing a relaxing meal in the area.

Yelp
For our friend's 40th birthday, we booked a table for five on a Saturday night at Kirby Club, helmed by the team behind D.C.'s Compass Rose, Maydan, and Medina. Here's our experience. 1) Food: To feed five, we went family with a variety of dips, salads, and two orders of the Kebab Shindig. Everything tasted good, but the winner was the steak and all the dips, especially the grilled red pepper dip. (It's a tad sweet with the pomegranate.) We left full and even took home leftovers! 2) Drinks: Their menu pulls flavors from the Middle East like the Camillia Kirby, apricot tea-infused negroni that serves two, Sauvignon Blanc from Lebanon, and the Wanderer of Wanda (like a mango margarita). Every drink was refreshing! 3) Service: It's impeccable from start to end. Our server was attentive and gave us the best walk through of the food we ordered once it arrived at our table. 4) Space: The design is beautiful with inviting lighting, booth seating, a giraffe mural, and more. 5) Area: It's located in the Mosaic District in Fairfax. It's a bit a drive from D.C., but there's plenty to do once there. With several large parking garages, the area has restaurants, shopping, a brewery, a movie theater, and outdoor events.

Yelp
Really liked the concept for Kirby Club. I went for my birthday dinner and we got the vegetarian platter. There's a little of everything and we really liked all the offerings. Service was great, the atmosphere is fun but also casual, service was on point all evening. Everything was just spot on right. Prices were commensurate with other DC restaurants. By no means cheap but I didn't feel ripped off. I would caution anyone sitting outside under the big TV that sometimes it plays sound. Plus the lawn out there can get crazy. We sat inside and felt really good about it.

Camryn K.

Yelp
I enjoyed this restaurnat! I liked the ambiance of the restaurant, and the food was solid. To start, we ordered the Kirby dips with homemade bread. We got the Hummus, Minty Labneh, and Havuc. The bread was super soft, and I really liked the dips, except for the Havuc. The Havuc was a carrot dip, and it didn't really taste like much. But the Hummus and Minty Labneh were both very tasty. We also ordered the Fried Brussels and Za'atar Crinkle Fries. The Brussels were pretty tasty, but they tasted slightly burnt. I liked the pomegranate glaze on the brussel sprouts, but the beef in it had a slightly off putting taste. The fries were super fresh and crispy, and I loved the feta dip that came with it. For the main course, I shared a few platters of kebabs, including the Chicken, Kofta, and Aleppo Steak. The kebabs were pretty good, but I definitely liked the chicken the best. The steak didn't taste like much, and it also had a slightly off putting taste. The service was solid, and the food came out quickly. Overall, Kirby Club has solid food, and I would potentially come back in the future if I am in the mood for kebabs.

Yelp
As huge fans of Maydan, we heard Kirby Club is by the same owners, were were very excited for their opening but unfortunately our bias set the bar too high. The food here was still very good but not smaller than expected portions for the amount of money you pay. The meat on the Kebab Shindig and sauces that came with it were the best part of the meal. The platter also came with some grilled veggies and rice. We also ordered the dip trio - olive, havuc, and bessara. The dips were all unique and fresh but best of all you can get endless hot pita. The Camillia Kirby was a refreshing tea infused negroni that came in a bottle easy to share. All the food and drinks were shared amongst four people, if the shindig was larger we would have been very satisfied. Service was excellent and the restaurant is conveniently located in the heart of the Mosaic District.

Yelp
Our daughter, who is from out of town, had a Mother's Day brunch catered. Everything was absolutely fabulous! And I can't wait to try other things on the menu! They texted her when they started cooking the order, when the food left the restaurant, and then a few minutes before they arrived. How much more can you ask? Can't wait for the next time!

Yelp
Aaron was a fantastic bartender! We went for my bday weekend and he brought the fun, food and drinks! The ambiance is beautiful especially the wraparound bar with the drop-down lighting!! The food is made from scratch and you can tell! They even have spices like sumac, and a rare white wine I've never seen before called Dila-o Rkatsiteli - Mtsvane Amber Dry... by the GLASS!! I've been all around the world for wine and what a rare find! Great happy hour and simply DELICIOUS Highly recommended!

Yelp
This place is very cute but can get cramped when busy. We were less than a foot away from another table and our waitress had trouble putting our drinks and plates down easily. My shakshuka manoushe was great (especially for $10!) but we waited for an hour to get our food. We both ordered the same thing so not sure why it took so long. Our mimosas took 20 minutes and the second one we ordered took another 20 minutes. Cute place but veryyy slow.

Yelp
Food is well-seasoned and fun to try, but definitely on the pricey side! Our table shared the Kebab and Veggie Shindig platters. The Veggie Shindig was hearty with 1/2 dozen slices of pita, 4 sauces (garlic sauce was the best!), grilled peppers and eggplant, juicy trumpet mushroom, crispy falafel on a bed of rice topped with fried onions. All of the flavors blended well together and the falafel was my favorite. Judging from the few scraps of food left, my friends enjoyed the meaty kebab platter! While I enjoyed the meal, it was hard to justify spending $65 for a veggie platter and felt like it should be closer to $30 - $35 range and would be nice to come with the standard dips like hummus and grilled red pepper dip. While it was sizeable platter with plenty of food, I felt like there was something missing. The Bartender's pick bubbly cocktail with raspberry infused pisco, elderflower, rhubarb was fun to try but I preferred my friend's Kirby Tiki with mezcal and passionfruit served in a whimsical fish glass Next time, I'll get my own glass! The service was great and gave my friend a complimentary dessert for her birthday of her choice. The moist apricot cake was quite sweet and dense and paired well with tea. I'd come back for lunch with a paired down menu of more affordable options!

Yelp
It's flavorful food! Everything is created fresh although it is a bit on the pricier side. The veggie shindig is almost the same price as the kebab shindig. Personally, I felt that getting the kebab plate is more worth your money since you get basically the same amount of proteins minus the sauces and bread. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. They even explained to us the meaning behind the Kirby Club name.

Yelp
My friend and I went there for lunch (about 12:30). The host greeted us warmly and gave us a small table near the front which was as very close to other small tables. She apologized as the table was tiny and very close to the adjacent tables, but she explained all the other larger table were reserved. Ambiance was light and decorations not spectacular but were suitable. We ordered the chicken shawarma and a 'hot date' for an alcoholic beverage. The waitstaff was attentive and very friendly. The food was delicious and the drink was wonderfully warm on a cold day. All in all, it was a very nice lunch ... although next time I'll make a reservation. The food was a 5, but the table lowered the rating to a 4.

Yelp
Kirby Club is a wonderful addition to Mosaic. We sat at the bar for dinner because it was a last minute decision and they were fully booked at the time. We were too hungry to wait for a table. Our bartenders were friendly and helpful. They were attentive and made conversations - recommended some dishes. Everything was super delicious. However, next time, we will skip the ribs. We were expecting small fall off the bones ribs, but got Flintstones ribs instead. They were messy and the bartenders got a good laugh with us as we were trying to eat them lol.

Yelp
Kirby Club is delicious! The Kebab Shindig is the perfect menu selection for trying a little bit of everything. It comes with salad and a number of delicious meats (beef, lamb, chicken) and grilled veggies. It also comes of a bed of rice and has a number of sauces, pickled veggies and pita. This was plenty of food for two! I also enjoyed the old fashion and they have a decent wine selection too. The restaurant is a bit on the cozy side with a large bar in the middle and a few dozen tables, so I definitely recommend making a reservation. We were lucky enough to snag a 7pm reservation on a Friday night. My only complaint is that the service was a bit slow and there were a few things brought to our table incorrectly. But the staff were friendly and apologetic, so it wasn't to terrible. Overall I think this place is very yum and I recommend it!

Yelp
Took my mom to dinner at Kirby Club knowing that she loves Mediterranean cuisine, and they delivered, per usual! We ordered the Havuc to share (do not miss this!) and asked for a side of veggies to dip alongside the fresh pita bread. They happily obliged and presented a plate of fresh cucumbers, peppers, cauliflower and radishes. We then ordered the kabob plate with double salad. Mom got the shrimp, I got the chicken and both were cooked perfectly and packed with flavor! We paired our meals with the Mersel Lebnani Ahmar wine, which was recommended by our waitress Valeria - and was absolutely delicious! We sat outside, in the beautiful weather and it was a perfect meal. This was not my first trip and will absolutely not be my last!

Yelp
This spot is so freaking cute!!! The decor, the patterns, the lighting...literally everything is so cute. I love just sitting in here. Came here for dinner with some girlfriends and we had a great time! The staff was amazing and friendly. And super nice, we definitely stayed a little after closing and they didn't kick us out. The drinks were so unique and delicious! I love the sumac on the side, wow. The food was solid! The salads and dips we got were all very good. The meats were tender and flavorful. I think the lamb was a little salty for my liking but just add some dippings and you're good. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
*3.5 stars* I was so excited to see the owners of Maydan opening up Kirby Club in the Mosaic area and was really hoping to have access to some of the amazing food and dish I love at Maydan. While the atmosphere and service were quite lovely the food fell a bit short. My friend and I ordered a platter to share and it was very greasy; the ribs were also very difficult to eat as the meat wasn't falling off the bone easily. I'm thinking we ordered wrong and could've had a better experience had we ordered other items instead of the platter. I'd like to give Kirby Club another try but my first experience was okay only.

Yelp
We've been curious about this place for a while and finally decided to grab dinner here. I was able to secure a reservation before arriving but we were able to go straight to the bar. Didn't realize we came during their "Golden Hour" (happy hour) so that was a plus. Surprisingly it wasn't too busy in the restaurant. We got a couple of Sumac Sunsets and three dips off of the Golden Hour menu. The drinks were solid but the dips and homemade bread were the star here. We got the Minty Labneh, Roasted Red Pepper Dip, and Hummus. The Roasted Red Pepper Dip was amazing but they were all really great. After a while we also ordered the Kebab Shindig to try out a little of everything. All the meats on the platter were so flavorful and juicy. Very well seasoned. Hard to choose one but the steak was cooked perfectly, the chicken was juicy, and the kofta was huge. Surprisingly the mushrooms were cooked very well and were a little crispy too. There was a lot of tumeric rice which is always a plus for me. Loved the roasted vegetables and all the sauces too. Pickled onions were good to cut the heaviness of the platter. Fried onions on top was a real nice touch. Best part, it came with more bread. The big Kirby salad was pretty good. Nice and lemony and a little bitter. I also added one last Mango Cooler with rum and it was really refreshing and had a unique flavor. This place has a real nice laid back vibe and the staff are really friendly and attentive. This place would be great to come back to on a nice day and eat outside since they have a good sized patio. I'll be coming back for the food definitely.

Yelp
This was gem of a find. Went here for my kiddo's bday. Amazing food and great service. It was a Sunday afternoon so we didn't try any of the drinks . The pomegranate hummus was delicious.

Yelp
Kirby Club has been on my list to try since it opened it Mosaic. Ambience - the restaurant looks fancy, the interior decoration was well done I thought. It mimics a high-end bar. We went on a weeknight and I could see office workers coming out for a happy hour and dinner. Food - food is ok, we shared brussels sprout as appetizer and I had the Pink kabob plate with Aleppo steak. The food is average and for $24, I could have eaten two kabobs elsewhere. They have a drink menu too, overall on a pricier side. Service - service was good, we went during rush hour and the food took longer, but the server was nice and he did his job. I would come back for happy hour but not for a sit-down dinner.

Yelp
I've heard many great things about Kirby Club, so I was very excited about trying this place and wasnt disappointed. First off, our table was a little cramped, but our server was kind, efficient, and answer all our questions. Now for the food, I had the hummus, mint labeneh, and Zaatar Fries for appetizers. The fries were seasoned well, crispy, and came with quite the interesting apricot marmalade sauce, which was sweet but paired well with the fries. The dips were ok, but nothing special for me. For the main course, I had the Meat Lovers platter. All the meat was cooked perfectly, tender, and juicy, but personally my faves were the chicken and steak. The sauce on top added a lot of flavor for me. The rice and veggies were also good, but the highlight was truly the meat and sauce. Overall, I was sent to Flavortown and would eat here again.

Yelp
The dips were delicious, the havuc (carrot) dip being my favorite. We decided to get the kebab shindig so that we could try a little bit of everything, and we're glad we did. Everything was great and even the rice was super tasty. We came on a Friday night with a reservation, I would recommend reservations on weekend nights since the space isn't too big.

Yelp
Truthfully, this is our favorite restaurant in all of Northern Virginia. Why? Food & drinks are incredible. You seriously cannot go wrong. Bartenders are phenomenal and very friendly. Always making recommendations or suggestions on new things to try. And the interior is absolutely beautiful and such a vibe!

Yelp
Fantastic food and atmosphere. The dips are phenomenal. We also ordered The Shindig which was $68 for a platter for two. Although the food is good, I think everything is priced a little too high. The shindig at $59 would've been more appropriate than the $68, and the 3 dip combo should be $19 instead of $24. Also, we ordered the appricot cake for dessert but it was quite horrible. The cake was dry, lacks flavor, and the pistachio crumble was old (you can tell the pistachios were not fresh). Honestly they should remove it from their menu immediately especially since their other desserts are delightful. Luckily, as we were leaving the manager offered a taste of their Date Soft Serve.. which made me double down on my opinion of removing the cake from their menu. The soft serve is great. Order that.

Yelp
Highly recommend trying this place out. My girlfriend and I decided to try this place after we drove to Mosaic district the other night. We were very happy with the choice. The food is very good here. They first brought out some pita bread, hummus, and labneh. We ordered the kebab shindig platter. It comes with some of every meat they have as well as rice, pickled onions, crispy onions, pita, beets, and a myriad of sauces. Honestly they were all pretty good. I'd say the steak was a little chewy and hard to get down at times. The hummus could have had a bit stronger flavor but that could be my personal preference there as I don't really care for a mild flavored hummus. But other than that, the platter was delicious. We also ordered some non alcoholic drinks that were very delicious. The service was really good. Our waiter was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. He also offered to get us more pita when we ran low. He also recommended filling a pita pocket and then dipping it in a sauce which was the right move. I wish I had gotten his name to give him a shoutout. The ambiance is definitely different from other Mediterranean/Middle Eastern restaurants. They have lots of colors all over the restaurant from the walls to the tables. I felt very immersed. The one negative I have about something in the restaurant is that they only have two non-gender restrooms so if it's busy, there may be a wait to use the bathroom. Other than that, this place is somewhere we'll definitely visit again.
