The 7 Best Clubstaurants In Houston

"This Cajun-Creole restaurant in the First Ward is the unofficial capital for Houston couples, elegant aunties having a ladies’ night, and birthday crews ordering cupcake Ferris wheels. Even though Kiss describes itself as “vibe dining,” it’s on the tamer side of clubstaurant culture. No one will be dancing on the tables. But a DJ will spin amapiano remixes of ’90s R&B while people enjoy the grits topped with jerk lamb chops at brunch." - gianni greene, chelsea thomas

16 Best Houston Restaurants For A Birthday Dinner

"At the self-described “vibe dining” restaurant Kiss in the First Ward, people come dressed to impress. The dark and moody Cajun-Creole restaurant is the peak destination for couples having a romantic b-day celebration and elegant birthday crews composed of bougie aunties. Go big and have a tomahawk ribeye to celebrate another trip around the sun, and if you’re feeling particularly extra, finish your meal off with a cupcake ferris wheel, because it’s your birthday and nobody can stop you.  " - gianni greene, chelsea thomas

The 23 Best Deals for Houston Restaurant Weeks 2023

"The Deal: Three-course dinner at $55 per person. Why We Like It: Normally $55 at Kiss won’t get you much more than an entree. But for the same price during HRW, you’ll find yourself with an entree, appetizer, and dessert from the Sixth Ward Creole-Cajun restaurant. So grab a grilled pork chop, some coconut curry wings, a slice of cheesecake, and use the extra savings to treat yourself to their cupcake ferris wheel, because why not?" - chelsea thomas, gianni greene

The 6 Best Places For Oxtail in Houston

"We would gladly make any excuse to have the oxtail dinner at Kiss, a self-described “vibe dining” restaurant in Washington Corridor. The southern-style braised oxtails at this clubstaurant come with vinegary collard greens, a few steamed carrots, and a heap of buttery mashed potatoes. The gravy coating the oxtails is slightly sweet and somehow enhances the tenderness of the meat. Add in a slab of cornbread and you have yourself a proper country-style oxtail meal." - gianni greene

It’s a vibe with good food. We absolutely enjoyed the salmon bites, Thai shrimp (sauce on side), jerk lamb chops, and shrimp and lobster pasta. Lamb chops tender and seasoned. The pasta was good with plenty of shrimp and lobster yet I will try something else next time. The prawns appetizer was fried to perfection and delicious. The music was on point but not too loud and didn’t prevent a good table conversation. The place has spots for cool pics. We celebrated my spouses birthday and received a complimentary lil cake. Server: Angel was attentive and informative on suggestions. 💗 her. We will be back. After leaving, I was in great spirits and ready to keep the birthday celebration going.

Google
Im giving this score because the service, atmosphere, music, and even managers were nice. I would say no reservations are needed on a weekday, not really certain as an out of towner. If you try to cancel your reservations, that I made the same day and tried to cancel, not even 5 minutes later, we would have been charged $25 per person. The food reviews on social media are correct. It was just okay. If I scored on food alone, it would be a 2.5. The portion was good for the southern chicken, but the chicken was cooked very hard, and the greens and the Mac were just okay. The cornbread was hard on the top. I could not even cut it with my fork. They gave a free dessert to the birthday person, which was nice. I can say that I've tried KISS, but I will not return with so many other places to visit while there in Houston. Maybe I will eat first and stop for drinks.

Google
This place was alright .. the service was great! It’s just for the prices you pay for the food you get small portions… i got lamb chops and I got garlic mashed potatoes. I forgot how much the mashed potatoes were but it came in this small bowl. My bf got a fried lobster tail with mac and cheese and lamb chops . He said his lobster tail was really good. I wasn’t a huge fan of the atmosphere it didn’t feel very welcoming. I did order a strawberry lemon drop that was good! We did have a reservation. The place wasn’t too packed when we arrived . They did have vallet parking available. It’s located in a plaza so they had parking available but those spots filled up fast,we took one of the last ones, they also have street parking as well.

Google
Absolutely love this place! The atmosphere was great with classic R&B music playing. Our server was fantastic and helped us with recommendations from the menu. The Southern Fried Chicken was perfectly seasoned and fried to perfection. I recommend the baked mac and collard greens as sides. Will be revisiting!

Google
DEFINITELY A VIBE!! our waiter, Aaron, was on point! great atmosphere! i just wish i picked something different to eat. i got the southern fried chicken dinner. it wasn't nasty by any means, just too much food for me, and i don't really eat dark meat chicken.

Coty Marie

Google
We had a wonderful dining experience here. The food was delicious and drinks were well made, but the star of the show was our server Aaron. He was super attentive to our large party, offering menu explanations and suggestions as well as ensuring our drinks were never empty. The definition of stellar service.

Google
The food was good. Will recommend the Shrimp w/corn succotash. Jerk lamb was good as well the sauce is what made that dish. The Banana pudding with the Biscoff cookies definitely a must try. The vibes are nice great music playing. Great date night place or girls night out if you need it.

I made an 8:15 reservation and waited for almost 45 minutes to be seated when there was open seating outside. I had to ask what the deal was before the host said “oh it was raining earlier and you booked the patio we won’t have inside seating until later tonight around 11” I never asked to be indoors I was fine with outside and to give me that option after 45 minutes is unprofessional. My service was a bit rushed and scarce. She didn’t really check in us that much we m. I was served a salad with nuts although I expressed I was allergic. The food was amazing. Lamb chops were excellent. Oxtail was a bit overcooked but the flavor was nice. The drinks were not good though they had lots of alcohol but didn’t taste good. The food was the highlight of the evening. I think the rice took me by surprise. We did a 2 for 160 special and each had a drink and my check came out to 248. There was a gratuity in there of 20> which was high for service that was pretty much non existent. We had to find our own silver wear wait an hour for water to be refilled. We wanted additional drinks and couldn’t even get her to take that order. All and all I would give it a 7/10. The food and atmosphere really put the cherry on top.

Yelp
Love the decor and vibes here. Ive been here twice and I must say both times has been amazing. It's really hard to find a nice brunch spot that has amazing customer service. The food and drinks are on point. So not only does the vibe give life but the food hits the soul. I ordered the crab beignets and the soul platter. Everything was top notch, fresh, fast, seasoned and well thought out. This place is a must visit for any event.

Yelp
We went for a GNO and we enjoyed ourselves from the entertainment and our own company but the food was average at best. I can only attest to the lobster Ravioli, and the word from the ladies that their food wasn't nothing to write home to moms about. The lobster Ravioli was all cheese and very small amount of lobster. It tasted like a processed frozen meal. It's a cute space inside, and the dancers were a good additive for entertainment. It was slightly loud but I think that this is meant to be a loud restaurant...."vibe dining." The location that they had in Dallas was also loud like here, so I think it's part of their theme. Would I come here again? Probably for happy hour at the bar only. And that's a big maybe. My glass of Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc (at least they had a goodie) came warm. I had to have them chill another glass so I could have cold vino. The second order of Kimmy came the same way....sigh.........I wouldn't come back just to dine simply because the food was subpar. This is definitely a space for a GNO our date night. It doesn't appear inviting for a solo jaunt.

Yelp
Came here with a large party (18 folks) , so we were given a pre fixe menu. Food : was mid. Normal aesthetically pleasing place. I had the NY strip that was supposed to be cooked medium, but was so close to well done. I didn't have them take it back because it isn't a steakhouse so I don't have high expectations. The people who had the past really enjoyed it! Service: SLOWWWW, but friendly. But SLOWWWW. Since we were a large party it was shared appetizers (Family style) , Pick 1 out of 3 main courses, and cheesecake served on a platter . So why did everything take 3 + hours I am not sure. We even did one ticket, so yeah not sure. Environment: Dress code strictly enforced. The place claims to be "vibe dining" so basically loud DJ music and club lighting LOL.

Yelp
Love Kiss! Can't wait to go back. Good food and drinks. The only negative is wait time. You must make a reservation to avoid any problems. We waited an hour Memorial Day weekend. Beautiful decor atmosphere and vibe and the service is really good from the servers not necessarily the front desk girl.

Yelp
We always enjoy our time here. We had a blast. I personally love the mimosas and the selection of juices to choose from. The ambiance is always a vibe. I believe they had a live saxophonist playing along with the latest R&B. Service is always a 10/10. We were trying out appetizers to see if they would fit into our wedding food selection, although we ABSOLUTELY love the food here, we went with Caribbean style food. All in all, it's never a dull moment here.

Yelp
Parking: Lots, but lot was full Price: Pricey, but go during happy hour. Service Good, but busy Restrooms Clean, not too far away. Good for FUN patties.

Yelp
We've been to Kiss a few times and today we came for Mother's Day. The parking is free if you can find a spot but today we did valet parking for $20. We had a reservation so we were seated immediately. DJ Wreck was on the turntable and it was a vibe as usual. We started out with a carafe of mimosas and the Crab Beignets. It took about 30 minutes for the beignets to come out. I would rate them a 2 out of 5 because it tasted like they were fried in old burnt grease. We both had the oxtails, grits, and collard greens. The oxtails were way smaller today than they normally are. We also waited an hour for the entrees because the kitchen was behind. By the time our food came we were pretty much done with our carafe of mimosas. I think we'll stick to come on regular days and not a holiday in the future.

Yelp
This was my 1st time, I live in Grapevine,TX. I was pleasantly surprised by the ambience, it was an entire vibe! The food was absolutely awesome & my server Ayden was the most courteous, pleasant, attentive & professional that I've ever experienced. Truly a 100% thumbs up!!

Yelp
Kiss is always such a vibe. They didn't disappoint this time when my friend popped into town. We split the short rib grilled cheese and shrimp and grits. The grits were thick and could have been resolved with a tad more sauce, but the shrimp were cooked to perfection. The grilled cheese was also tasty and filling. Our server was attentive and that's all you can really ask for these days.

Yelp
I was excited to try KISS and it did not disappoint! I, along with a friend, arrived at around 1:30 for Sunday brunch. We did have a reservation, but surprisingly, it wasn't that packed. There was still plenty of seating. They did have a DJ and guitarist and the music was great! It was loud but not to the point where you'd couldn't hold a conversation. I enjoyed it! We started off the with the carafe mimosa (pineapple juice) they were delicious ! Definitely had enough inside for about 5/person for a table of 2. We ordered our food and I kid you not, it was brought out in about 10-15 min easily closer to 10. I was little concerned. Nonetheless, I ordered the Gulf Coast omelette. It was pretty tasty and I would recommend. My only gripe is that it had bits of braised short rib inside from a different order. Don't get me wrong it was tasty, however, if someone was allergic or were vegetarian this would definitely be a problem. Nonetheless, I'll definitely be back and had a great experience

Yelp
Came here for dinner on a Saturday night. Parking wasn't an issue, as there were plenty of spaces. However, the wait was a bit too long for having a reservation. Once we finally got seated, I was definitely in tune with the upscale vibe dining experience. I loved the music and the ambiance. Thankfully, my meal matched the vibes as well. I had the cajun chicken pasta and it was put together really well. I wouldn't mind coming back, but perhaps for brunch or a non-peak time to escape the wait.

Yelp
There are a couple things I don't like that I will share right away. The two hour time limit for meals is a huge turn off especially if you have a decent sized group. Our waiter spoke in such a low tone we had no idea what he was saying most of the time. There's a stuffed chicken dish that is just okay. The chicken itself is not seasoned. The cream sauce is supposed to carry it. It doesn't in my opinion. The oxtails are fatty. More fat than meat. Flavor is there but quality of cut is not. Pros: there's a pork dish that is delicious. Spinach dip is delicious. The strawberry lemonade cake is delicious. The 8 ball martini is delicious. There is a band that came to perform live. They are very entertaining and friendly.

Yelp
First time experience at KISS. This place has been on my bookmark for years. Ambiance is great the moment you walk in. Now the conversation I had with the server started great, then it was contradicting. I visit here for a friend's birthday. Which in conversation the minimum is $600. (Reserved Party of 8). But it physically was a party of 4. Birthday girl sign paper for it. She's cool with that, so great deal. I order an entree for to go, just prepare it prior to me leaving, however you can enter the meal selection now. Cassie return to the table announcing that the ticket has been closed when I asked her to confirm if she place my chicken ya ya order. She told me no and that she had to call the guy who left the table to ask him if he can add it. Or it will have to be a separate ticket. Full disclosure: First off the guy who was at the table was not authorized to apply anything to the card on file. Nor was he the person who signed the agreement for the party of 8 whom is the same individual who's responsible for the remaining of the balance. With her closing the ticket which was at UNDER $300 that's left us responsible for additional $300 to satisfy the $600 invoice. Cassie we had a full conversation about the minimum that's required regardless of the size of the party or small of orders. So you were fully aware that we were going to order meals for take out. Instead this clown took it upon herself to close out a tab on HER TIME. 2 hours before the kitchen close and charge us $600 for a $300 tab Cassie also made it seem as if she was doing us a favor by adding the to go order on as a comp. Which was the $34 ya ya that in place BEFORE Cassie closed our tab. Yet she missed all the other entrees, sides, and drinks. The invoice shows the time AFTER the adjustment she made. Saying she had to confirm with a stranger who was not even part of the party nor a staff member, neither was his card on file. Cassie let it be known that payment of $600 was going to be collected regardless of the size of orders. She put our to go orders in that we are charged for. They definitely need to make this right. Because it seems as if Cassie left herself a $380 tip. Cassie definitely couldn't explain where tf the money went to after she close out a tab that NO ONE ASK HER TO DO. VIEW ATTACHED BILL Total was $319 of food received. And the total paid was $769.50. Never will I EVER attend Kiss to be robbed at.

Yelp
Was it kismet going to Saturday brunch at Kiss? Quite possibly! Our group of 4 made a reservation for Saturday brunch at 11:30AM. We were seated at a high table near the back of the restaurant, close to the DJ booth. Yes - a DJ booth for brunch! Kiss is located in Sawyer Yards, so there is plenty of parking available, which was a nice treat. They had valet spots marked off, but I think they are used for later in the evening versus brunch. There is a large ramp when you walk in (ADA compliant from what I could see) and you are welcomed with a red carpet - so fun! The indoor decor was also in theme; I especially loved the neon signs! Some of us ordered cocktails and some ordered mocktails. All were delicious! The best deal was the mimosa carafe for $20ish. They have a plethora of flavors you can add to your mocktails and mimosa; we had blueberry mocktail, a lavender mocktail, and blueberry mimosas. But the food. Wow! Everything was tasty and the portions were plentiful. I ordered the catfish and grits; they come with a side of hot sauce. I'm glad it came on the side because it could have overpowered the dish if served in tandem. The fish was thick and had a great crust, which was delicious served over those cheesy grits. As an app, we ordered the crab beignets and were solidly impressed with how much crab was in those bad boys; they did not skimp! My only feedback would be that the music got loud for us considering where we were seated. If we were seated a little farther from the DJ booth, it would have been more enjoyable for our party. Although the tunes were on point, just loud. There was also a saxophonist performing.

Yelp
Kiss has a FIRE brunch!!!!! Those brunch boards are AMAZING! The eggs are cooked perfectly. The oxtail falls off the bone. The grits are the best in the city.

Yelp
Came to Houston with my girls and we came here for dinner. We made reservations as there were 9 of us. We were seated promptly. Our server was awesome and quick. Our second round of drinks was a little slow coming out, but I could see our server checking on them at the bar. We ordered the Spinach dip (with bread and chips $1 up charge). It was pretty good. We crushed it. I had the Smoked Old Fashion . It was super cute and good. I ordered the Filet mignon as my main course, cooked medium. It was good except for the "sauce" that was on the side. It was actually so bad I didn't eat anything that touched it. Filet mignon cooked properly needs no flair. The 4/5 stars is due to the sauce and how dark the ambiance was. It definitely was giving a date night vibe and we actually joked the whole time that it was dark so you couldn't actually see the food. If I lived there, I would definitely go back for a cute date.

Yelp
KISS is a super fun brunch spot with great music--a DJ and even a live guitar player. They've got a solid variety of food options, and though it gets pretty busy during brunch, the food comes out quickly even when the servers are swamped. They also have multiple mimosa flavors to choose from. The space is huge, with both indoor and outdoor seating, so there's plenty of room to enjoy the vibe.

Sherressa W.

Yelp
The ambiance here should be featured in a magazine! . Each time that I have visited this establishment it takes my breath away.. The food is remarkable and the service is attentive and efficient. The prices are expensive but once you take your first bite you can taste that it quality and fresh ingredients are used. The vibe is chill, and upscale and the music is always good. May be a bit difficult to have a intimate conversation due to the music being loud, but you can always go outside on the patio . I surely will be back! THank you KISS for being a great BOB.

Yelp
I went Friday, a few days after Valentine's Day to check out their new hidden speakeasy that's through their kitchen. It's really nice and it opens to the public in April or May. Every time I go to Kiss I have a better experience than I did the previous time. Kiss is 10 of 10 and I would recommend it to anyone. The parking is easy. They have valet and free parking. You want to make reservations, especially on the weekend. The food is next level good. There is a red carpet entry. They always have the best Dj's playing R&B all night. It certainly passes the vibe check. Follow me on TikTok @ReddWasThere for full review.

Yelp
The vibe is great! The food is good. I have been here a few times now and I love the ambiance, music, and overall feeling you get from this dining experience. The food is always good. They do a spectacular job on the meat/mains Always well seasoned and quality. Most sides I've had here are pretty good and overall complimentary to the meal. The drinks are the star of this show. Some of the best cocktails around! Additional thing to note, they do not do complimentary desserts for birthdays or special occasions so be prepaid to calculate that in your cost if you're coming to celebrate.

Yelp
Came on a Saturday evening for a date night. Our reservation was for 6:30 pm, so early enough to beat large crowds and before the DJ came out. I ordered the restaurant week menu $55 per person for app, entree and dessert. I selected the oxtail empanada, chicken yaya pasta dish and the cheesecake. I was quite shocked that the empanada was only 1 empanada.. I hope this is just for HRW and not $18 for one single empanada. The chicken cajun pasta was okay.. Felt it couldve used a bit more cajun spice and cheese. I was disappointed all three 3 dessert options were a form of cheesecake..I dont like cheesecake so I ordered it to go to gift it. My partner ordered the southern fried chicken. Enough food came out to serve 2, so be mindful. The cornbread was dense but moist. Wouldnt order the cornbread again/alone. Vibes are nice and ambiance is well!

Yelp
This was my first time dining at Kiss. Pulling up to the restaurant and walking the red carpet made you feel like a star .. LOL .. Entering the building the lights were dim and the music was rocking. Thursdays are for Lamb Chops $5 each and lemon drops also $5 .. It was only two of us and we ordered the following: Appetizer - crab beignets they were scrumptious. For dinner we both ordered three Lamp Chops a piece one w/ Collard greens and the other crawfish fried rice. The lamb chops, although flavorful had a kick to them and the dipping sauce had some sweet heat. Collard greens could have had some seasoning all together but they were tender. Crawfish fried rice was good, no complaints. We went during Happy Hour and before we left the vibe was turning into a party. The DJ was cranking up. I will be returning for date night, a girls night out or even on my self care day. My opinion, this is not a kid friendly restaurant. They do offer Hookah on the patio if interested.

Yelp
Okay the wait time was longgggg and we had reservations I am giving them an 1. The service was too notch I am giving them a 5. We had Bunny now so I think that is her real name nope! But that is what is on my ticket. I didn't order anything fancy so I ordered a salad basic but good a solid 3.5 . I asked for Blue Cheese and that didn't happen. I also order the Crab Beignets I give them a 4. Bottle service I give them a 5. The atmosphere was cool as well 4.0 I know this is petty but three bathroom stalls for all those women naw! That is why it is a 4. The Houston location will be making me book at the Dallas location. Total 3.75 I am going to round up

Yelp
I didn't like the service and the food was mid, the waiter kept going to chat and stuff and when I mentioned the mana she said he was too busy but if we want she can get him for us. She took forever with my sisters cake, I felt her energy and it was sort of negative energy like I could tell she was a upset and wanted to go home but u aren't supposed to show that at least try to hide it. I really wish it wasn't an automatic 20 percent gratuity that you can't change. It isn't fair bc we all disliked the service our waiter gave us. I wish I could've got a refund on my food but some times I be really shy and don't want to cause problems but I didn't really like my food and why is the pineapple juice $7 I can buy a whole can from H‑E‑B for $4-5. And the silver were and glasses were very dusty I didn't even want to drink my water.

Yelp
What a fun brunch spot! Why? Because you get either a live music that walks the floor occasionally or a live DJ. And boy, you will be jamming! I thoroughly enjoy it every time I come here. The food is great! Salmon is always a good one. This place is jumpin' so the service can be a little slow because of the amount of ppl each server is waiting on. I would definitely say try it out if you're in Houston!

Yelp
There is a lot to unpack so I will break this review into Food/Ambiance and Service. This spot was suggested by some friends that came on New Year's Eve and was a bit disappointed because the drinks were nice but KISS ran out of certain foods that were advertised for their New Year's Eve Menu this was before 10pm so they wanted a do over. I took the challenge and decided to go with one other person instead of a big group. The black and gold color scheme with velvet drapery and overall layout of the establishment gave the vibe of an upscale dining experience and the multiple screens that showed the movies of the night provided options to enjoy without straining your neck around corners. The Pan Seared Salmon dressed in sauce on a bed of dirty rice and broccollini was prepared expeditiously and presented on a very warm plate. Now let's pivot to the SERVICE...after our waitress( Angel?) brought the customary glasses of water, my date asked what type of vodka was available for the particular drink she wanted. The waitress's demeanor changed after the inquiry so did the quality of service. The waitress eventually brought our drinks and our food was brought out by the server (efficient). While enjoying the movie, it took some time to find our waitress to order another drink, which I eventually did, but by this time we were almost finished with our meal. At this time I finish my drink when she brings another drink to the table and takes off before I can make an inquiry. Neither one of us ordered another drink so I finally was able to stop her to find out about the drink. She states "Oh, I thought you pointed for another drink to which my reply was, No, I did not" so she hurriedly took the drink away with a nonchalant attitude. At this point, my date informs me that our waitress was arguing with another waitress over whose drink it was before the GM had to silence them but not before their dispute was overheard. Lack of character and personality popped into my head. By this time our dinner is complete so we move the empty plates with utensils to the other side of the table and had the utensils set at the finish position to notify the server we were done with our meal. 10 minutes later our waitress eventually appears with our cheesecake and champagne, but it was not worth anymore of our time so we asked for a carryout container. Bill is presented to me and as I inspected the bill I noticed Food Tax, Mixed Bev Tax, Guest Changed Mind (drink), and a AUTOMATIC 20% gratuity for two people!!! I can understand automatic 5% gratuity for parties over six, but two people and the service was sub par. Where is the standard and incentive to provide exceptional customer service for an upscale establishment??? Before this fiasco I had a chance to talk to the GM and he informed me their establishment seats 308 people on the inside, 40 on the patio (Standing) and 120 (seated). I noticed the bartender was very good at handling incoming drink orders and sending them back out proficiently. I do have one question though, "If there is a Dress Code Policy, why do the waitresses have on thigh, high tennis skirts with low cut, skin tight V tops?" KISS has great potential, but two strikes already for me. Just my two cent review..Maybe your experience will be different.

Yelp
I went to KISS on the last Sunday in 2024 and let me tell y'all, a time was had!!! At the recommendation of our server I ordered the BLUEPRINT and that drink was niiiiice! It's their version of the sidecar. Next she recommended some good appetizers and I had my eye on those boudin egg rolls so I was very excited they made her listt. The flavor was hitting and they had a lil kick at the end, just how I like my boudin! In fact, I enjoyed them so much that I ordered a 2nd round of em!!! I wish they served more than 2 cut in half or had an option on the menu that included 4 or more. It was crowded with the live band playing and our big party that included 3 different sets of tables but our sever took good care of us. The music was great... it was my first time hearing THE CITY and they did not disappoint, they made sure our birthday ladies had the best time! I didn't taste the fried chicken but when they brought it out to my friend, there was so much meat on the wooden cutting board and it included a huge chunk of cornbread, greens and mac & cheese. I also tried the Cajun Salmon Bang Bang Bites... they were hitting as well. The food and drinks were on point and I can't wait to go back and try more!!!

Yelp
Great setting for brunch! The food was good, service was on point and the DJ played all the right songs. It was a tad bit pricey but I enjoyed the experience.

Yelp
Soo I don't usually do loud, lounges/restaurants, but KISS was nice! Came with some friends for their R&B night. So glad I came! They had half off their appetizers and cocktails....doesn't get much better than that! DJ was on point with the R&B jams too. I ordered the crab beignets...definitely recommend! They're more so, three crab balls, but still very good. I was not that hungry, so it was the perfect portion for me. I also ordered the Magic 8 Ball Martini. I recommend it as well. Service was slow, but they were very busy and it's somewhat of a large restaurant. Our waiter was very nice and made sure we were taken care of.

Yelp
Finally had a chance to try Kiss. Went for a friends birthday dinner. Upon first glance, I loved that there was an actual parking lot with plenty of parking. Did not love that their website states there's a business casual dress code enforced but saw several people very much so dressed down.. so it appears as though the dress code is not actually enforced. Our reservation was for 9 but we arrived a little early and were seated. Once seated, I loved the vibe of the restaurant and I also loved that they have a screen that plays music videos along with the music they're playing. I've never seen that before at any restaurant so that was a nice touch. Food: I had the crab beignets and the pan seared salmon. I asked them to sub the dirty rice for mashed potatoes. The beignets were delicious, I'd get them again. The salmon was just okay. Could have definitely used some seasoning, next time I'll try another entree. Service was pretty good overall and food was decent with room for improvement. Towards the end of dinner when we were paying our checks, I didn't care for the automatic 20% gratuity fee .. but I wouldn't mind going back to Kiss again one day.

Yelp
Kiss welcomes you with a red carpet! So...that's a "Yes," and it sets the tone for the coolest vibe you'll get from a restaurant! We chose Kiss to host my daughter's fabulous bridal shower in a private room where the music, lights, and "Prince" portrait definitely flexed followed up with a menu to delight! Kiss was phenomenal in their wait staff as fresh fruit and canapés were brought out with drinks and everyone's food came out hot! We spared no expense and everyone ordered several drinks and their menu of choice! The cake was presented with sparklers, then quickly taken away and plated! Champagne was brought out ceremoniously for the toast! A round of shots was offered by the best man, and everyone had food to take home! Kiss is the perfect place for your bridal party!

Yelp
The vibe of Kiss is amazing nice decor. The workers were all professional and very friendly. Now the food it was ok it didnt really make me want to come back for more. I had the cornish hen which was deep fried but it lacked flavor and it was served over grits. I bet if they had brined or marinated the cornish hen and baked it, it would have been better.

Yelp
This place is amazing, I absolutely loved the vibe here! The DJ was playing all the good hits (80's baby) and it was a pure vibe from the time I walked in until I left. It was a bit dark but from time to time the lighting changed. The food was amazing but the service, let's just acknowledge the fact the waitress felt it was professional to tell us the cook was annoyed we asked for our spinach dip to be warmed up. We politely told him/her, we are annoyed with as well for having cold spinach cheese dip sent to our table. Other than the comments made we had a really good time.

Yelp
Visited Houston for 2 days and decided to make a reservation here based on a few instagram post. I'm sure glad I did because this place was truly a vibe. From the red carpet out front, to the ambiance of the restaurant; this place is truly a vision. The customer service was impecable, as everyone is super friendly. Being from up north makes me appreciate the southern hospitality whenever I visit. We ordered 3 appetizers, some drinks, and our main dishes. Below are my honest ratings for the items we ordered. I would have given a 5 star rating because the ambiance, drinks, and service was truly top tier. Not to mention, they have dancers posted around the restaurant to give it that lounge feel. However, not every item we tried off the menu was a 10/10, so I just couldnt. This place is definitely a must for any tourist coming to visit the city, as I am sure all the locals are already hip to this place. Apps: Buffalo Chicken Egg Rolls - 6/10 (no real buffalo flavor and the dipping sauce was not even buffalo) Crispy Tai Shrimp - 10/10 (omg a MUST try. Soooo darn good) Crab Beignets - 7/10 ( you can taste the crab but it honestly just tasted like little crab balls. Still more flavorful than the egg rolls) Entrees: Jerk Spiced Lamb Chops - 10/10 (A MUST! The lamb is sooo tender & PERFECTLY spiced. I was told its the most popular & I see why. The jerk sauce wasn't even needed because of how well the lamb was seasoned) *sides for lamb chop* - collard greens 8/10 (good enough to serve at thanksgiving dinner), mac & cheese 8/10 (it wasnt soulfood baked mac & cheese but it was actually really good) Seafood Pasta - 10/10 (my sisters shared theirs with me. It was amazing. It contained so many different types of seafood. The sauce was perfection) Drink: Cotton Candy Lemon Drop - 10/10 (if you read my reviews, then you know my go to drink is a lemon drop. When I say the cotton candy flavor was the perfect surprise pairing. A blast in a glass for sure)

Yelp
We were visiting Houston and my friend heard about this place and so we planned on going our last night there. The ambience was perfect for a night out, low soft lights, a bar area along with high and low tables. They had a live band, they were really good. The waitress was very friendly and made recommendations that we enjoyed. I'll just say I'm sure there are those that come here for the food, both dishes that we ordered was good, but not a place I'd recommend for food! The cocktails on the other hand 5 out of 5 stars!! Every cocktail we ordered was DELICIOUS!! Every drink was made with fresh ingredients and fresh fruit. This is a great hang out spot!

Yelp
Great ambience with the DJ and decor. The drinks are great and the service is good. While we were there a few birthday were happening and they were doing a great job entertaining the celebrants. The lower review stems from the underwhelming flavor of the food, it's not their specialty. We also ordered dessert, bread pudding. The ice cream barely melted and you could tell the pudding was not fresh and was previously frozen and then microwaved. For those prices, I would expect everything fresh. Still a good choice for an occasional girls night, date night or birthday party - but primarily for the vibes and aesthetics.

Yelp
I came here for brunch after the Beyonce concert. The vibe wasn't overly turnt, but it was still a very good time. People don't seem to come out until 1pm or later. I recommend it for brunch when you're in the area. GLOWS: -There is onsite parking, which was very good to have! -The service was excellent. We had a very friendly server! -The complimentary birthday dessert is a very nice touch. -The aesthetics were nice. Good photo ops too. -Indoor and outdoor seating. I sat inside because it was hot, but they had mist to attempt to cool things down. -The DJ and live guitarist added to the vibe. -The crab balls were actually not that bad.. considering I'm from MD. They aren't traditional in the slightest, but not bad. GROWS: -The food options were just okay. I didn't care for the avocado toast.

Yelp
Loud, overpriced, and mediocre food. Another restaurant leaning on "aesthetic" to stay afloat. I was displeased with everything I had there except the champagne. The pasta was bland and dull. Pot stickers were average.

Yelp
Kiss hits all the marks: memorable food, atmosphere and fun. We came in a party of 30 for a birthday brunch. We were seated very close to our reservation time. Execution of orders for a large party was excellent. Our waitresses were on point with suggestions, taking our orders and extremely personable. The DJ was on point, playing just the right music to get us up and running (1/2 of the party was hungover lol). The guitarist accompanying the DJ was great. The entire venue is cute/Instagrammable. Everyone enjoyed their food and drinks. We were allowed more than the 2hr limit, we didn't feel rushed at all. I definitely recommend!

Yelp
This was my first time in Houston and a friend recommended this place. I didn't have much free time since I was in a work trip but I was able to stop by for dinner. It was a Tuesday night and not very crowded. It's in a plaza with plenty of parking but Ubered there. The ambiance was very nice and the music was a good level. It was mainly R&B/HipHop. They had taco Tuesday food and drinks specials but I didn't order it this time. I sat at the bar and ordered their Dusse and Lavender drink which was made very well and tasted delicious. After ordering I discovered they had Sir Davis and had to try it out since I was in TX of course. It was smooth enough but still a whiskey lol I order the lamb chops with the Mac and cheese and greens. The lamb chops were seasoned well and the sides were pretty good too. I have no complaints. Definitely try it out if you have a chance. Good for date night, girls night and solo visits.

The whole restaurant is set up beautifully minus it being too dark, turn the lights up some please lol. Our server lay was nice we were a group of 4 since we were heading out after we choose to get all appetizers which were delicious. We did the crab beignets, cesar salad, wagyu meatballs, and crispy Thai shrimp. We loved it all the shrimps were our favorite honestly chefs kiss I wanted to ask for the recipe lol. I can't remember the drinks but those were good as well, they are very Instagram friendly and the DJ is awesome!!

Yelp
Went for dinner on a Friday evening. The vibe & ambiance are nice. The music however, is much too loud. You have to shout to have a conversation with others at your table. The celebration of birthdays occurs frequently, so I hope you don't mind hearing In the Club by 50 multiple times. Our waitress was wonderful. She was extremely helpful with recommendations and was very attentive the entire time. Food and drinks were great.

Yelp
4.5!! Hello, my experience was pretty good. I went to help celebrate my friend's birthday. To ensure we got a good idea of the menu items, we decided to order several items from the appetizer list for the group. This was the best!! People ordered their drinks from our awesome server and only one tiny hiccup from the bar (was NOT our server's fault), but she resolved it quickly. I loved the atmosphere and food - the only issue was, this place felt like an after hours spot. (a fun one). Kinda not fully a restaurant & not fully a club or lounge either -- I don't know how to describe it, other than, head over there and check it out! They DEFINITELY have something for everyone

Yelp
Every other Friday they have an aerial artist! We missed it this time but we'll be back to experience it next time. Food and drinks are great. Atmosphere is even better.

Yelp
Firstly, Cassie was amazing!!! She offered top notch service on top of the delicious food!! We ordered the filet mignon and lobster, lamb chops, beignet bites, salmon bites, oxtail empanadas, shrimp appetizer, and pasta! EVERYTHING WAS A 10/10!! Very good vibe with a great crew of employees!

Yelp
The French toast is BOMB!!! Our waitress was helpful. The music being played was top tier.
