A gem! Trully artisanal food. Our St Paul and Chopped salads were so fresh it was like they jumped out of the farmer's market. The pizza dough was phenomenal. The staff was polite, knowledgeable, and accommodating. It is a bit noisy inside, maybe because of the soft ice cream machine. My friends raved about the ice cream. All an all a great dinner. This place is in a residential area and a bit easy to miss. In a nice day the outside eating area must be really nice.

Google
Very good food and friendly service. Wifi with adequate charging plugs. Nice cozy atmosphere. The only down side is that it's small wet a limited number of tables and there's limited street parking that doesn't require a permit Monday to Friday during the day.

Iced chai tea with almond milk, cinnamon, and vanilla - 10/10 Croissant lost points for not being heated up. Very flaky and buttery though!

I'm a big fan of Koma Café, the drinks were great and so was my in house made pop tart. The staff was very friendly it's a very neighborhood vibe café which I really enjoyed. For what it's worth I highly recommend this Cafe.

Google
A cozy spot for a coffee hangout, I love the interior setup ! I tried their pecan coffee and would love to try more next time!

Google
Koma Cafe is a great neighborhood spot in Takoma Park which I would describe as a cafe/restaurant. Very intimate and has a nice hipster vibe to it. The staff is great and the vibe is super lax and chill. I love the concept of ordering at the counter and self serving your own water. If your ever in our neighborhood and want to good eats and bites as well as cocktails, I highly recommend checking Koma Cafe out! Thank me later :)

Coffee lovers, head to Koma Cafe, the only coffee shop in the area. Driving 30 minutes from SE DC, it was worth the drive. Here's why. 1) Coffee: Brewing Elixr Coffee, their menu has it all- lattes, espresso, cortados, cold brew, drip coffee. My latte was very creamy, strong, and smooth. I very much enjoyed it. Next time, I'll get their pecan latte. Drinks come in small or large sizes and they have other drinks like a chai latte, hot chocolate, and tea. 2) Service: It's friendly and efficient. The barista handled the line with ease and my latte was in my hands under five minutes. 3) Space: It's a very nice place with indoor and outdoor seating. Coffee beans, wine bottles, and other goods decorate the walls for sale. They have strong wifi and outlets throughout. It's an Italian restaurant as well so they serve breakfast and lunch until 4 p.m. and then change to dinner service. 4) Area: It's near many great markets, murals, and there's street parking nearby. If you're into art, wander the streets finding public art and Little Free Library boxes.

Atmosphere is lovely, as is service. But the blandest food I have had in this area. We ordered two breakfast dishes, and everything tasted the same, and unseasoned. The coffee was over-brewed. Bethesdification of Maryland continues

Yelp
Can't say enough good things about Koma! This cafe is super cozy tucked in a historic neighborhood in Takoma Park that feels straight out of Portland, OR. The staff at this cafe were incredibly friendly and on the ball. The food was pricey, but absolutely delicious. The avocado toast was wonderful, as well as the coffee. Seating inside gets full quickly but there is outdoor seating as well that I took advantage of. Highly recommend this spot to work, unwind, or grab lunch.

Yelp
Cute spot with great coffee! My friend recommended this spot to meet up around Takoma/Silver Spring. The interior is super cute with green walls, a variety of seating, and quirky decor. I ordered a latte and crossiant- both were excellent. The latte was rich, creamy and smooth. The crossiant was so buttery, light and simply wonderful. Definitely a spot worth going to again!

Yelp
Met with a friend for brunch on Saturday morning and at 9:30am, the tables were full (by 11am, there were available tables). There are only about 6-7 small tables, plus two high counters with high bar seats, so I would call this a small space and not good for groups. However, for nicer weather, there's picnic tables out front in the parking area. Only a few parking spaces out front, so expect to park on the street, but it's mostly a residential area, so it shouldn't be too hard to find parking. You order at the counter- there are paper menus, and then they hand you a number to take to your table and they'll bring you your order. I like that they do offer brunch food and not just pastries. I ordered the peanut butter oat bowl, which was very filling and delicious. I also ordered green tea which was served in a cute glass teapot with tea leaves. They have two unisex restrooms, and the first one I went into was large. My friend and I were at our table for about 1 hour and half, and she gave this place the thumbs up!

Yelp
Went here twice while visiting Maryland for the 4th of July and it was absolutely delicious! Both times I ordered the egg & cheese croissant with ham, and the second visit I also got an iced vanilla latte with almond milk. The croissant was amazing and the portions definitely fit the price. The coffee was well made and tasted great. The atmosphere is very homey and the workers are all very kind. I will definitely be back next time I'm in town.

Yelp
The space is hard to beat with its cleanliness, seating, and good neighborhood vibes. Sometimes seating can be tricky but if you are patient you will be okay. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and engaged. From coffees to everything on the food menu, you will find a variety of foods. Portions are large and the quality of ingredients makes the food delicious. If you are stay past 4pm you can also enjoy dinner items such as pastas, pizza, and wine/beers. Whether you are looking for a place to work and dine, you may get too comfortable and not want to leave.

Chauncey C.

Yelp
Breakfast and coffee spot - dinner, no. The spaghetti entree is almost inedible. Dry, tasteless...service very uneven. Seats/chairs are beyond uncomfortable. I suppose by design to deter patrons from sitting there too long working.

Yelp
This is a strange little stretch being next to a small university and an abandoned (as of this writing) hospital. Nonetheless, the residential area nearby seemed to be keeping it in good business. The place stood out to me for its salad offerings but I didn't have room for more than a snack, so a less healthy but amply delicious monkey bread served my needs. For a beverage, I perused a cardamom rose matcha with genuine ambivalence. Matcha is the author of many great flavor combinations, but I've seen weird matcha beverages fail badly before. In this case, the added flavoring was subtle enough not to overwhelm the tea, but interesting enough to dazzle the palate. A job well done for them. The place was large enough to accommodate several groups inside and out and was nice enough to sit around a while, as many people in the neighborhood were doing. I'd like to try something more substantial from them, but for the basic cafe experience I came for, they hit exactly what I wanted.

Yelp
Stumbled upon Koma Cafe when I was in the area and I'm so glad I went in! Was planning on grabbing a matcha and sitting for a bit to do some work, but the food looked so good I ordered a veggie sandwich with side salad. NO regrets, my friends! This was one of the best sandwiches of my life. Here are the ingredients: tomato jam, burrata, pesto, lettuce, avocado, and artichoke hearts on a DELICIOUS bread. I'm drooling just thinking about it. The matcha was also great and not at all sweet. Perfectly served. I found an outlet for my laptop and enjoyed people watching in cozy little Koma Cafe. I'd be happy to grab food to go in the future or meet a friend there. Fast service and they clear tables right away. If I were to describe Koma in three words it would be: cozy, hearty, and nourishing.

Yelp
I returned to Koma and am upgrading my review to five stars. I love everything about this place: transcendent pizzas, ample salads, quality libations at a decent price. In all, there is a feeling of goodwill, a desire to make people happy. And that is how I feel after each visit. A sense that all is well in the world. And that is not easy to come by these days. Thank you, Koma!

Yelp
We're in the middle of planning a move to Maryland and stopped in for a quick lunch--and we're so glad we did! The PB&J on sourdough was a nostalgic treat with a gourmet twist--perfectly toasted with just the right balance of creamy peanut butter, fruit and sweet jam. The chicken tacos were fresh, flavorful, and packed with just enough heat to keep things interesting. And the vanilla latte? Smooth, comforting, and exactly what we needed to fuel the rest of our day. Friendly service and a cozy vibe made it a great midday break. Highly recommend if you're in the area! We plan to be back as resident locals.

Yelp
This place blew me away! The food was incredibly fresh, made to order, and tasted amazing. I was curious as to why there weren't many reviews yet so I'm assuming it's new. Our food was hand delivered to us and the waitstaff was incredibly excited and friendly. It was quite busy for a Saturday morning! There's a smaller seating area available but we were able to snag a table. I was impressed by the selection and how tasty everything is. Still wondering what cheese they used in the egg and cheese croissant... it was phenomenal. The coffee was great. A nice bold flavor, maybe a little smokiness to it. Oat milk and almond milk are an additional 0.75 cents, while flavor shots are 0.50 cents. Two drinks and the two meals came to $35. I thought it was a great price for the quality, service and taste.

Yelp
Breakfast at Koma was a GREAT idea. We walked about twenty minutes there and back--the location is safe, pleasant and if you were to drive, parking is very accessible. Speaking of accessible--their front door/stairs is ADA accessible. Coffee was perfection, smoothies were fresh, and the breakfast sandwiches were on-point. Crispy yet perfectly buttered Croissant with egg, cheese, and a side salad was exactly what my morning needed.

Yelp
This is a cute little gem that just opened 10 months ago or so. I used to live a few blocks away and the only central place for food or a coffee (or anything) is on Main Street or flower so this is a wonderful addition to this neighborhood. It is ADORABLE and cozy - just as I stated, if you want to work here, get there early or sit and wait. I got an iced rose cardamom matcha and monkey bread - delicious AND alone should tell you this place is certified "HIPSTER" - with a full bar, wine, and full plate options. I would love to come back for happy hour or dinner. Try it out!! P.S. Staff was super friendly and welcoming

Yelp
The type of place I wish existed in my neighborhood. I'm officially jealous of TP... Tasty coffee drinks, very attentive service, delicious foods.

Yelp
CUTE little coffee shop, great service, and the BEST LATTE I've had in a long time! Got the pistachio orange latte and croissant sandwich to go (sorry no pics!). Latte was the highlight; it's out of my way but I will be back just for that! Sandwich was good, but a little soggy/messy to eat in the car. I met the owner who was working behind the bar, and she seems fabulous. Decore is very cute and it has nice indoor and outdoor seating. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Great service from a lovely young lady. Solid coffee in a mug. Great that they state a refresh on the mug of coffee is free. It's got a great cafe setting nestled in a neighborhood of residential and small commercial buildings. My only discomfort was with the ambient noise of the place. The refrigerator cases near the seating area do like all of them do and emit a constant unpleasant mechanical sound. The music was a bit loud for my tastes too. That's a personal preference though. Others may be just fine with it. I'd come back.

Yelp
Koma has it all. Delicious coffee and breakfast items and a wonderful ambiance from families to those co-working in the space. I ordered the chia fruity pebbles bowl and the egg and cheese croissant. This croissant was buttery and eggs were fluffy light, this is what you want your croissant sandwich to be. Please try it if you visit.

Lesly A.

Yelp
It is a small cafe with a lot of seatings available. The food was okay but the lattes were great! Unfortunately I bit into a few eggshells in my croissant which were very hard and unpleasant. I did raise my voice to get the servers attention but maybe they didn't hear me. It was also pretty salty, most likely because of the prosciutto. It's not somewhere I'd try again anytime soon.
google avatar

Laura L.

Yelp
Very charming coffee cafe in relaxing Takoma Park. If you love a traditional macchiato drink or an iced cold vanilla Latte, please come here! The pear salad was a very generous bowl of mixed greens, sweet fruit, thinly sliced pears and lots of prosciutto, LOTS! Dressing was light and complemented the ingredients. Other diners had overstuffed sandwiches with sides of chips. There are some bench style tables in the front patio and small cozy tables for interior dining. Great welcoming vibe, fantastic servers and baristas!

Yelp
Pete is awesome, let's just start there. I would take this man's food recommendation any day, all day. Today was my first time visiting Koma Cafe, which is my neighborhood coffee spot, literally a one minute drive from my house. I came in with no expectations or anything, didn't know what we were going to order. We just willy-nilly walked in. I asked my best friend who once lived in Takoma Park to come check it out with me. As soon as we walked in, we were immediately greeted and happy hour was just starting. We were given the menus and Pete shared some of his favorite items and they were all a hit. We really were only coming to check the interior out and just get a matcha to go (my best friend loves them), however, once we got inside, we knew we had to sit and order. The happy hour items were extremely delicious and the Caramelized Onion Fig Spread is something serious paired with the Burrata and bread and it's heavenly. The cafe is warm and cozy, and they had a great assortment of wines. Parking is available directly in front of the café and there's additional parking on the side as well as street parking. Definitely returning to try out Pete's pasta recommendations!

Yelp
Wonderful shop for breakfast & lunch. The staff are kind and most patrons are the same. The shop is cozy enough to stay and enjoy if you don't have to rush to work. Be very careful of where you park in front of the shop, there's a portion that is unclear and can lead to confusion ( I fell victim to it this morning).

Yelp
Koma Cafe is the most adorable eatery I've been to in a long time. The breakfast and ambiance was amazing. Great food! I will definitely visit again when go back to visit Bethesda.

Patricia N.

Yelp
We were staying in a nearby AirBnB, so we dropped in to Koma for a dinner and a breakfast, It was cozy, casual, and cheerful. The food was delicious and, we thought, priced reasonably.

Yelp
I stopped by Koma Cafe as I was looking for a good place to study this afternoon. Everything about this place exceeded my expectations and I will surely be back! The service was great, I had such a helpful and friendly waiter. I first ordered an iced pecan latte, which gave me the perfect caffeine fix I needed to get some work done. Stayed for a few hours and ended up trying the pepperoni pizza as well, which was delicious! The dough was perfectly soft inside and crisp on the edges; the cheese fresh; and the pepperoni plenty! I appreciate that they had outlets along the wall so I could work, and no one rushed me out, which was greatly appreciated. I felt welcome the entire time. I can't wait to come back and am so glad I stumbled across this neighborhood spot.

Ceceila C.

Yelp
Ordered a plain cheese pizza this evening and the crust was burnt. Had too much cheese for the thin crust. I had a Tuna on a bagel yesterday which was good.

Patita Q.

Yelp
Service is chill, but efficient. Coffee and breakfast food was good. Ambiance--small place. Would go early next time I'm in town.
google avatar

Bob T.

Yelp
My Chai Latte was disappointing. It tasted weak and a bit... funky. I'm not sure, but whatever dairy product they used might have expired, and they certainly didn't put in enough flavoring. It's hard to say how they messed my drink up and I'm sorry I wasted my money on it.
google avatar

Yelp
Matcha is great, pizza is really good too Cute little spot in Takoma park. I love that they have both interior and outdoor seating

Yelp
Great ambiance on a weekday morning. Variety of seating, looks like a nice place to meet up or work solo. Very clean. Menu was good , vegetarian friendly; I really enjoyed my meal!!

Yelp
My wife and I stumbled upon this place heading towards Takoma Park. The following day, we had coffee and pastries here. What a great neighborhood place to walk to and enjoy the neighborhood and community. Service was great, and the ambiance was cozy with outdoor seating. Coffee was great, and the pastries were warm. I'm looking forward to coming here again for happy hour at the bar!

Yelp
I liked this place when it first opened. Now it is dedicated to users who sit for hours with their laptops. No time limits. Hey, you want to eat, get a table, chat with friends, meet with family? Sorry for you! You will be competing for people who seemingly can't find a place within their own houses or apartments to do their work, so they are seated at tables and hogging the space. And the place is not big! Get ready to see one person using a laptop and taking up a table for two or four. And when you try to talk to the management, they turn a deaf ear. Not sympathetic staff. Go elsewhere!

rachel o.

Yelp
Fantastic dinner here on Sunday evening! DELICIOUS pasta and salad with fresh, quality ingredients and generous portions. Tasty and inventive cocktails. Can't wait to come back.

Devon T.

Yelp
Great customer service , good food and coffee, nice atmosphere. It has become my daily stop.

Kristie S.

Yelp
this is such a cute little coffee shop and the coffee / pastries were so delicious! I had a very rude interaction with the barista which ruined the entire experience unfortunately. As I was preparing to leave the cafe I wanted to get a to-go cup for the rest of my coffee, there was a man before me asking for a lid for his cup which she replies that there are lids behind him on the little counter (understandable reply) There were no to-go cups on that counter so I asked her "when you have a moment can I please have a to-go cup" I intentionally tried my best to ask in a manner to not make her overwhelmed but maybe she was annoyed or just in a mood this morning but she told me I would have to wait in line. There was a long line so as I debated whether or not I really needed the cup the man at the register asked me what I needed and I told him just a to-go cup, he said sure and asked me if I needed a lid and I said yes lol this took 2 seconds of his time but this clearly annoyed the lady ( colored hair with the buzz cut on the left side) after I sat back down she talked to the man about how she had just told me no, maybe to make him feel bad, or maybe because she was embarrassed?? lol this was just so weird and rude. I traveled from NJ to this area and as my first experience in the morning it just was so uncomfortable and unnecessary? maybe if you dislike helping customers the cafe/food business is just not for you and that's okay
google avatar

Jacob B.

Yelp
This place is great. I've yet to be disappointed with my food or beverage. The interior is so pleasant. And the staff are great.

M.n. F.

Yelp
This place is awesome! The food is always delicious, the coffee even better. My go-to is the everything bagel and pecan latte. But I've tried other breakfast things and they're also good. The staff is very kind and friendly. The main problem I have is that it's super close to me and very accessible, which is obvs very dangerous lol. I kind of wish they had room for couches so I could hangout longer, which is the biggest compliment I can pay as an introvert.

Neela S.

Yelp
Great food and quick service! We got just we asked for and good bread too! This is a cozy place!

Karen T.

Yelp
Our group met for drinks and dinner. The service was slow and joyless. The food was expensive and underwhelming. They gave me a discount for my bad salad, but I'm not remotely convinced that it was an aberration. That pretty much sums it up.

Tracey

Yelp
Best almond croissant ever! With a good cuppa coffee!! Self-served cafe. Nice location!

Nusha M.

Yelp
I just picked up an order of Bucatini with brussels sprouts. Came home - no sprouts. Called to ask if I was given the wrong order. No, it's the right order. But no sprouts!! I'm told the sprouts are shredded on top. Nope! Turned the pasta over and over - nothing. It's one of the key ingredients, and it's not there. Was told I can come in again, but no mention of how they can make this right. Just come in again. Seems there's not a sprout in the kitchen. This is the second time the meal I ordered there was missing a key ingredient. Order at Koma only if you like to be taken for a ride.

Lou K.

Yelp
A great evening at Koma. The food was good - we had the St Paul pizza and a cheese appetizer. Happy hour prices were a pleasant surprise. The drink menu was good and they mixed excellent Last Word on request. The bartender and staff were very friendly and accommodating. Koma is definitely a new go-to place for us.

Bob S.

Yelp
This place is great, with tasty breakfast items, sandwiches, pasta, and pizza etc. Wonderful ambience, friendly staff. They have a great happy hour from 4-6 pm which is the best deal since you get discounts on drinks and their "shareables." I love this place, highly recommend it, and do not intend the following comments as a detraction from how good it is. The pricing is really rough for non-wealthy people. I understand the rent must be crazy and there are most likely very specific reasons the prices are where they are, and Takoma Park is full of wealthy people who will pay, but close to $20 for a 10ish inch pizza, $16 for the main breakfast sandwich (which is generously portioned but still) just makes it feel like this place exists mainly for the older, rich crowd of Takoma Park and is inaccessible for younger renters unless you come for happy hour, but even then most people don't get off work until at least 5pm. I've found the same issue with its sister establishment, Soko, where it's basically $20 for a sandwich. I would come by way more often if the prices were just a bit more accessible. I can get an incredible Italian sub at Vace in DC for around $10 so it's hard to justify paying $16 at Koma.
google avatar

Jennifer C.

Yelp
Early on a Sunday morning, we decided to try Koma Cafe, a sister restaurant to Soko butcher shop. A few parking spots were available at the side of the building, though I imagine parking could be a problem at peak times. Servers were friendly and helpful, there was a wonderful variety of pastries and muffins, and the interior was pleasant (with a focal point of a single curlicue of a neon light above the counter). The two all-gender restrooms are spacious and clean, and are both handicapped accessible . Although the menu of open-face toasts was not my jam, I absolutely adored the cafe's special breakfast sandwich, the Reigna Beatrix... an enormous breakfast bomb featuring thick layers of ham, fluffy scrambled eggs, pesto, and Brie with herbs, on an oniony Puccia roll. This sandwich is so supremely satisfying, you'll only need half of it... so you'll have the other half to share with a friend! I wish I could be as enthusiastic about Koma's house coffee, which is a high-acid, medium roast brew that leaves a sour taste in the mouth and can be harsh on sensitive tummies... but if this style of coffee is not to your taste, there are plenty of other beverages to be had. After taking a sneak peek at the very inventive cocktail and bar snacks menu, we vowed to return for Happy Hour sometime soon.

Mary S.

Yelp
Things I've eaten so far at Koma: Smoked Salmon Toast; Ricotta Toast; Crossant with egg, ham, and cheese; Monkey Bread; Ham Sandwich; Margherita Pizza; Pepperoni Pizza; Spaghetti Carbonara. Percentage of this food that was outstanding = 100! (Okay, so there was one pizza that came out a bit too charred; it got quickly rectified.) Quality, satisfying, filling food. Excellent espresso martini, too!

malaika d.

Yelp
Great selections of lattes and coffee they take advantage of seasonal it's made in store too! So there always something new. It's comforting and cool.

Alex G.

Yelp
Love this place! Would love to see some more vegan options on the menu, but it's a super pleasant spot.

Ellen K.

Yelp
The vegetarian sandwich is to die for. Crunchy french bread, sweet tomato jam, pesto, burrata, and artichoke hearts. All beautifully plated in a cozy neighborhood café. Perfect.

Beth F.

Yelp
Super cute, small new bakery/wine bar in Takoma Park. The service is friendly and the food options are pretty diverse. Dinner options after 5pm and happy hour from 4-6. There's a corner with a tv to catch a game, but the overall vibe is calm & elegant. Highly recommend!
