A little expensive, but the quality and quantity are worth it! This restaurant is between Cafe Weekend and Mr. Music. This is on Harvard Ave, so you don't need me to tell you that parking can be very difficult with the busy roads and high foot traffic. It is best for you to try your luck on Commonwealth Ave. Inside is very spacious. Lots of tables, and you're not sitting super close with tables around you. Interestingly it seems the restaurant is split between Korean BBQ and non BBQ. This was perfect for my wife and I because we wanted non-BBQ. I don't think there was any outstanding decorations, but it's also not something I care about when I just want a nice, filling meal. Our server was very polite and accommodating. She checked up on us regularly and we were never left waiting for attention. Bulgogi Tukbokki - very good! the rice cakes were cooked perfectly, the marinated rib-eye were good, and the sauce was great. I think the heat was perfect for people like my wife and I who can only handle just a little bit of heat with our food. Kimchi Jae Yook Tofu - I'm actually not a big fan of Kimchi, so I was going out of my comfort zone to order this. I'm really glad I did, because this dish was awesome. Big, hot clay dish with a small mountain of kimchi, DELICIOUS pork loins, and 4 impressively large pieces of tofu blocking each corner creating a wonderful, almost threatening dish. Tang Soo Yook (pork) - I'm not totally sure how to feel about this one. On one hand, the portion size is enormous. I think 2 starving people would be happy eating this with no other food. The pork was perfectly cooked - light, airy crispy like you would expect from Korean Fried Chicken. The sweet and sour sauce was a little too strong for my palate, especially as we were becoming too full. Additionally, the sauce had a really bizarre texture - it was borderline gelatinous - similar to those rubber sticky hands that you would get from an old 25 cents toy dispenser. As you pulled up a piece of meat, the sauce would come with it instead of dripping. Overall impressions? I spent a lot of money here, but I am totally satisfied by what I got. Generous portions, and delicious food. This place is the complete opposite of our awful experience with Somaek a few nights ago in Boston Commons.

I just finished my Bibimbap and it was exceptional. Every bite was full of bold, balanced flavors that made the whole dish come alive—it truly hit the spot. The ingredients were fresh, well-prepared, and thoughtfully combined. I’ve dined in before and always appreciated the warm, welcoming staff and their commitment to authentic Korean cuisine. This was my first time ordering online, and the quality remained just as impressive. I also really appreciate the banchan that comes with the meal—it’s such a thoughtful, delicious touch that elevates the entire experience. A solid 10/10—I’ll definitely be ordering again.

Google
I have to comment on the portion and price. This is not a sophisticated restaurant, yet the price is outrageous. On a delievery, I paid $17.99 for a ddukboki that looked like a leftover. It had exactly 10 rice cakes. The spicy pork was $33.99 but would have been half the price elsewhere. At least the food is not terrible, but it’s “ok” at best.

Google
Hands down, one of the best Korean BBQ spots I’ve been to! The staff was friendly and really attentive. The food was amazing, and the side dishes were delicious with a good amount. We had Korean BBQ, pancakes, and chicken wings. The pancake was a little oily, but honestly, everything else was great. Overall, a fantastic experience. I’d definitely come back again!

Ordered scallion pancake and Cold buckwheat noodles in beef broth (please forgive me for not remembering their Korean names) It was nice, especially based on the fact that most stores in Metro Boston does not serve the cold buckwheat noodles. It came with the sauces of mustard and spicy sauce w. white vinegar and a scissor for u to cut the noodle. It was my first time eating it in United States and it was amazing. Service was great and they ask you if things are good constantly. Atmosphere is good in a nostalgic Korean decoration of the house. The only problem is that it is kind of overpriced. Try not to order the added egg option since u get half an egg for 2$, although under the current egg price it was fine.

I've been going to Korean Garden for several years now, and their service and experience never disappoints. There isn't much music that plays at the restaurant, but the restaurant isn't too loud. The tables are nice and there is a big walking space to move around. The service is quick and good. They exchange the water bottles quite quickly, and the food comes out pretty fast. The prices for the food is decently priced. The Korean BBQ does run a bit on the expensive side if you are a big eater, but the tteokbokki and appetizers are reasonably priced, even lower than other restaurants. The quality of the food is pretty good, and tastes quite well with the banchan. I would recommend the hot pot bibimbap, it isn't too hot when it arrives at the table but keeps the food warm, and it can form scorched rice at the bottom of the pot when done. The portion sizes for the korean bbq is good for a party of around 4-5. A majority of the tables are suited for parties of 4-6, I probably wouldn't come here with a party larger than 8.

My friend and I both lived in Korea and were searching for authentic Korean in the Boston area and we were delighted to find this restaurant. We LOVED this place. Great banchan and options for those looking to find Korean food beyond KBBQ. Highly recommend!

Google
New favorite Korean spot!! Everything was wonderful. It got a little loud inside and we had a bit of a wait, but it was not surprising why. The staff were very attentive. Food, incredible. Try the Soju!!

Yelp
This is my absolute favorite place to go with family on a Saturday morning. My go to is the Kalbi gui cooked in the kitchen, always seared to perfection and the sweetness of the sauce is always a hit. I also get the dolsot bimbim bap with beef, filling delicious simple. The staff is also always kind and attentive.

Yelp
Not sure why the reviews aren't particularly good. This place has an insane lunch special! I ordered the Yookgaejang, which was a spicy beef soup dish, for just $12. It was a pretty big portion, so I had leftovers. Not to mention, it came with a bunch of banchan. I wouldn't say this was the best Korean I've had, but it certainly did the trick, especially at that pricepoint. This isn't an especially upscale place, so I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for date night or anything, but it's perfect for a casual meal with friends or even a quick solo lunch. The service was solid, no complaints from me! I would happily return.

Yelp
Pretty busy during weekday nights. Bonchons are so so, but all stew/soups are superb!! My favorites are chicken soup and beef stew. The pork feet came in such a big portion too. Overall flavors are on the lighter side and I really appreciate that!

Yelp
For an early weekend dinmer I decided to get Korean food. On Saturday at 4pm, the restaurant was predictably empty, with only 2 other tables occupied. I placed my order, the Gopchang Jigae ($17.99), a spicy tripe and intestines stew. The banchan arrived a few minutes after I placed my order. It consisted of 5 items: a light savory jelly, cabbage kimchi, cucumber kimchi, green beans, and mushrooms. The jelly and green beans acted essentially as carriers for sesame oil and salt. Notably, none of the banchan were fridge cold. The green beans possessed decent snap The Gopchang Jigae arrived a few minutes after the banchan. It has an extremely flavorful soup, making soondubu seem light in comparison. It practically required pairing with rice. Otherwise, the portion size seemed reasonable

Yelp
Me and a few of my girls came out here after some karaoke. It was so much fun everyone was so nice to us. That beef that we had was delicious I wish I remember the name of it. We had some sake and some bacon it was all good. The restaurant itself is huge and the servers are so kind.

Yelp
Korean Garden is by far one of the better Korean restaurants in the Allston area. You know the food will be legit if there are lots of Koreans and their families, and on a Saturday night, it was bustling with Koreans young and old. They have Korean bbq options, but my friends and I chose to stick with the regular menu options. This was my friends' first time trying Korean food, and I was pleased to find that they served plenty of side dishes for them to explore. Portion sizes were large and our orders came out very quickly. Only reason why I docked off two stars is because of how pricey the food is here! It's a no frills kind of restaurant and you'll be expected to play close to $30 for a meal per person, which is too expensive for what it is!

Yelp
After my initial review, I've been here a LOT and honestly, the food has gotten a lot better over the years. It may be because it was right after COVID that I went at first, but this place is bomb.

Yelp
korean garden is amazing! i love the small free side dishes, which are unlimited and sooo tasty. my friend and i ordered teoboki, beef bulgogi, and seafood ramen. all the dishes were delicious and about $20 or less. food is always served quickly and the servers are very nice. there's a good amount of seating - although during weekends it can get quite busy. korean garden is a must-try in allston! overall rating: 10/10

Yelp
I would say there are better places to get Korean food but Korean garden is a decent spot if you are around the area. The service was friendly and food came out timely. I love the small side dishes and the flavor was pretty good nothing special. The restaurant wasn't busy at lunch time and was nice.

Yelp
Ordered the kimchi jiggae lunch special and it was amazing. Really tasty, hearty jiggae soup with tender pork and tofu, and some sliced rice cakes as well. They included 6 little mini banchans (sides) in the takeout bag! I haven't had a Korean takeout place provide that many banchans before, and they were delicious. I will be back!

Yelp
My favorite Korean spot in the Boston area, it has never once disappointed. It reminds me of my Halmeoni's cooking! It's the go to spot for my cousins and I to get together, they are great at accommodating large parties.
google avatar

Yelp
I've never once been disappointed with Korean food before coming here. Food was just plain bad. There was eggshell in my japchae, tofu soup was the color of flaming hot Cheetos but without flavor, and to top it off the octopus teobokki was like biting into rubber. I was so upset that I asked them to try the food the made and even they agreed it was a lil tough. A little tough my butt! Never coming back. Think I'm just a complainer? I've inserted a picture of the tofu soup so you can judge for yourself.

Yelp
Party of 7 on a Saturday night! Our lovely waiter recommended that our group get the Combo A - which included 2 kalbi, 2 pork belly, samgaetang, soondubu, bibimbap and japchae. We also ordered a cheese ddukbokki for the table. The food was overall.. good. Some items weren't quite.. traditional in flavor, though. The japchae was a little mushy, the soondubu tasted too herbal (like a green tea base?), the galbi was a little too sweet and the cheese ddukbokki had cheddar cheese (?). The redeeming factor is that the staff is wonderful. Pork belly was great, samgaetang surprisingly one of my favs. Would go again, but maybe not order the combo A. 18% gratuity included on the receipt.

Yelp
Sort of accidentally stumbled upon this place when visiting a friend in Boston and it was incredible! While a little expensive up front, you get sooo much food! I had never had Korean BBQ and felt a little intimidated and didn't know how to order. The staff moved fast so my friend and I felt a little rushed but overall the food was fantastic with a lot of flavor!
google avatar

Michele H.

Yelp
The owner greeted us warmly and we had a table in a few short minutes. The food was spectacular! Each dish had its own individual personality. And the sides were nothing short of magnificent. Best Kimchi I've ever had. Don't think twice- EAT HERE!!!

Yelp
We decided to come here on a Thursday afternoon since we have always walked past Korean Garden but never actually tried it. The side dishes were typical, and they did bring out 1 miso soup with the side dishes....so I guess they expect you to share the one tiny bowl of soup? We ordered the shumai, which were very small and I thought they were just okay, however my friend did not like them. Next up we have the bibimbap with chicken, where my friend also did not like and couldn't finish it. I ordered the kimchi jigae, which comes with rice and I thought it was really good and a perfect size portion. Overall it was just an okay experience.

Mona L.

Yelp
Overpriced for the quantity and quality of food. Service was so so. Left still feeling hungry after spending so much money....
google avatar

Susan N.

Yelp
I was visiting some friends in the Boston area and they decided to go here for dinner. It was pretty busy on a Saturday night and we had to wait a couple of minutes. We ordered a variety of things to share including the seafood pancake, mandu soup, and a few meats. It was pretty good! I found that the portions were rather small but overall, I had a good time. My friend also ordered a raspberry wine that we all shared that was delicious.
google avatar

Armando T.

Yelp
Great food! Love that we can cook it our selves. Also the sides are fantastic. As for service, it could be considered bad or good. If you really want to cook it yourself, the staff is somewhat intrusive, but the staff won't let you screw it up either so that is wonderful. Ambiance isn't good, but the food is so good it doesn't matter!

Yelp
Good place hangout! I liked the broth it was so tasty I would probably go again for the tasty broth

Yelp
This is the first Korean restaurant that I have been to where they do not serve an egg along with a soondoobu, a decision that goes against Korean tradition. Also had to ask for scissors for the nangmyeon. This is a disgrace towards Korean culture.
google avatar

Todd L.

Yelp
Pros: warm service, KBBQ meats were fresh (we got the thick pork belly and beef tongue). Side dishes were OK as well. Cons: pretty pricey (~$80 for one serving of pork belly, one of beef tongue, and a dukbokki) Beware the parking in this area! I would probably only come back if I happened to be nearby and were really craving just a bit of KBBQ.
google avatar

Kyoka A.

Yelp
Part of 4, we loved it! Korean garden is one of our all time favorites in Boston. We ordered three plates of meat in total (1 kalbi, 2 thinly sliced beef), 1 cheese tteokbokki, and 1 shumai. Their side dishes are free and delicious. Service was great, the vibes are always good.
google avatar

Alyssa K.

Yelp
Went here for Korean BBQ and I was a bit disappointed. There were barely any side dishes and they did not give us steamed egg ._. The portion sizes for the meat were so small and not worth the price. The soondubu also tasted a bit off. On the up side, the meat was yummy.
google avatar

Camille C.

Yelp
My favorite Korean restaurant in boston, hands down. I go here at least once a month. The kimchi pancake is amazing, BBQ options always a good choice, japchae is 10/10, and I also love the soondubu!
google avatar

Elizabeth P.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place because there's not a lot of KBBQ spots where you grill at the table right infront of you. For peak dinner time, it was pretty empty, which was surprising! There's plenty of food options to order from, and we got Barbecue (Kalbi Gui, Samgyupsal), Denjang Jigae, and Steamed Eggs for dinner. Everything was average. I enjoyed the Steamed Eggs and Denjang Jigae more than the BBQ meat. For the price, I wish the BBQ had a higher quality and better portion size!

Yelp
Such a great genuine Korean restaurant. We walked in and was greeted by such a nice man. We were seated right away (as reference we went on a Thursday afternoon) and the inside of it gave me such local "hometown" vibes-it wasn't too fancy but cozy almost. The menu is self explanatory and they had a really good selection. I ended up getting cold noodles and had such high hopes as it was my first time- DELICIOUS!! We also ordered teobokki(rice cakes) and soju hehe. The tteobboki was good but felt like it was mainly veggies versus rice cakes. Since we got a window seat it felt nice eating there. I recommend for everyone to try this place!

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday night at 7:30pm and the place was packed. I used a Yelper's recommendation to reserve a table ahead of time and that had to have been the best advice because we were seated immediately when we arrived around 7:15pm ahead of a group who had been there sitting and waiting. We were also very fortunate to find parking as soon as we arrived, this was a rarity for the busy street. I recommend for BBQ, ordering the Korean Garden Special Kalbi which is tender chunks of Kalbi. We also ordered and enjoyed the thick cut of pork belly (Saeng samgyupsal). The thinly sliced beef tongue is not for everyone but this was another BBQ item that we ordered. Another dish that we ordered and would recommend is the Sam Gyup Gool Bo Sam, which is pork belly served with a spicy sauce, raw oysters, and lightly salted white Napa cabbage. You wrap in the white nappa cabbage a piece of the pork belly, an oyster, and some spicy pickled radish and then dip it in the spicy sauce. This is the only Korean restaurant in Boston that I have tried that I know that serve this dish. Everyone in our party enjoyed it. We also ordered the gamjatang, which is the beef bone stew with potatoes. Korean Garden Restaurant version is good but I like Hanmaru's version better (just down the street). It was not spicy enough in my opinion and a bit grittty. For drinks, I recommend ordering soju or mulkuri. On the drinks menu, the top three drinks are sojus while the fourth, mulkuri, is a sweet milky rice wine. The restaurant was busy the entire night. It takes a while to flag a waiter so I would advise order up everything you want early, food and drinks. Order extra water, tea, alcohol beverages etc. See my pictures.

Yelp
Great food, authentic BBQ, decent portion and pretty fast service. If the parking is easier, the whole experience would be superb.

Yelp
everything was delicious, galbi was out of this world , and i loved the oi muchim and kimchi.

Yelp
We made a quick stop in Boston Ktown to grab some food. We walked in on a Sunday afternoon and the place was empty which was amazing. No wait plus good food is beyond a dream come true. The food portion and variety was great. Definitely should stop by if you're around the area. 9/10

Yelp
I feel the need to give full stars for this under rated Korean restaurant. I almost didn't come in from the 3 star rating but the other restaurant we wanted to go to had a 45 min wait. The service here was quick, to the point, staff were helpful and pleasant. We didn't do bbq but ordered 2 types of cold noodle (we added as much or little of the vinegar and hot mustard we wanted), kimchi tofu stew, kimchi pancake, and a bosam. All of it was excellent! The kids kept saying "yummy" the entire meal. I couldn't help but to add a few high pitched "Mmm"s in there too. I am so full but just looking at the pictures is making me salivate. I will definitely return. The restaurant appears a bit older and could use a bit of a revamp but all we care about is deliciousness and comfort.

Yelp
Awesome food! Especially love G6 ! The portion is big. Great to have with 2-3 people together. The soups are tasty as well. The owner even gave us a FREE steamed eggs. Soooo nice! Loved it!
google avatar

Yelp
What's kbbq without pork belly? That's one dish we got. Must get. Thinly sliced, unseasoned. Delicious. We also got the Korean Garden kalbi special. Marinated to perfection. I must say, one thing I disliked was that the server cooked the meat for us. It's really nice but I felt a bit rushed. I didn't like the fact that she cooked it and the meat were left cold. :( It'll be nice to have the option of grilling your own meat. Takes away the fun not being able to. Food- we ordered the pork belly, special kalbi, and seafood soondubu. + 7 banchans. All phenomenal. Altogether ~$75 with tip. Fair. Very pleased and satisfied. Overall, good portions, good value, and good service. You already know I'll be back!

Yelp
Friendly, good value for your money, nice atmosphere, lots of pretty girls, and they serve food. There is no parking

Akhil P.

Yelp
Loved the vibe and the food! Price was reasonable for the quality of food. The steamed egg that I had was very flavor full and so were the Manul Samgyupsal, Kalbi Gui and Tukbokki that my friends had! The service was also very good and the staff were very well knowledgeable in the ingredients that went to in a dish. Being a vegetarian, this helped me choose my dish very easily! Would definitely come back to try out their vegetarian dishes as well!

Maggie C.

Yelp
Very disappointed. The BBQ is pricy, yet not good. We tried beaf tongue $27, but was impossible to chew. The cold noodle came with everything tangled together, feels like from a leftover, worse than homemade noodle. The only positive part is the friendly waitress.
google avatar

Jane C.

Yelp
I'm from northern NJ and my town has a lot of Koreans, so I grew up on KBBQ and stuff like that. This place is truly the closest I can get to Jersey-style Korean cuisine here in Boston. I always come here when I want KBBQ (their garlic samgyupsal is good) and doenjang jjigae or naengmyun. One time, I tried to go to Gyu Kaku (Japanese bbq) with some friends without making a reservation and the wait time was over 2 hours. So we came here instead and we were seated immediately... I was quite shocked because I really like this place so I wonder why it's not busier? It was dinnertime on a weekend so I thought it'd be packed. Anyway, it worked out for me and my friends because we were starving at this point. Service is always good, no complaints there. I'd give 5 stars, but the last time I went, we ordered chadolbaegi and it was sliced too thick for my liking. Chadol is supposed to be super thin, and I've ordered it from here in the past without any issues, but that last time was a little disappointing. I hope that was just a one time thing, but I haven't gone back since then so I'm not sure.
google avatar

David C.

Yelp
This place is perfect all around. Our waitress was very attentive and socialized with us. We also tried Makulri, which I must know where to buy it, it's that damn good!! The bulgogi for 2 was more than enough for us, so I took it home. Although, I highly recommend you finish it as soon as possible to avoid sogginess. The prices here are very reasonable as well. Other than that, I really don't have much else to say. I'll be back.
google avatar

Yunsie C.

Yelp
I ordered seafood tofu soup and it was one of the worst seafood tofu soup I've ever had. The soup just tasted very fishy and tasted like squid soup, not tofu soup. The portion is pretty small too.

Rachel M.

Yelp
My two girl friends and I had dinner here last night. The staff, the owner, and the foods were all amazing. I would recommend anyone to go and we would definitely go back again!

Yelp
I love this place! Comparing to other korean restaurants, this place is not that expensive and important thing is the food is awesome! I love the different kind of soups specially Yoogejang! also, I like the atmosphere, this place is big , great for family and good customer service!
google avatar

Yelp
Always our go to Korean spot in Allston! Food is amazing and affordable and the service is quick. I've never had to wait to a table either when I go.
google avatar

Yelp
The tukboki was super watery and did have the right kick. The kimchi jigae was decent but it was missing the sour-ness that usually comes with kimchi jigae. The food seems like it's catered towards the non Asian crowd

Yelp
I was craving for Korean food and dragged my boyfriend with me. So he didn't have a choice but to go. I love Korean food because of the many apps they give before the main dish comes. Its just so fun to look at and I love some of them. I was just planning to get some regular Korean food but they also have Korean bbq in their so we ordered that instead and it was pretty much more than enough I also got japchae cause I was too greedy and I didn't eat that much so I ended up just taking it to go! Service was pretty good. We got our food at a reasonable time from the moment we ordered. And they also grill the bbq for us which I didn't expect. We had our orders which was the pork belly and the marinated beef. Both was good! We we're so full after that. I would love to come back next time.
google avatar

Nacim I.

Yelp
I was craving Korean food so I convinced our large group of friends to go here. I won't be going back. I was incredibly disappointed. The bipbimbap was mediocre at best. The meat they provided was not fresh. Would not go back.
google avatar

Rachel Chaewon K.

Yelp
I can confidently say that this is the best cold noodle place in Boston. I've been craving cold noodle ever since I had it here! It's so gooooood! Definitely check this place out this summer!

Michelle D.

Yelp
I love me some Korean BBQ and usually check out the local Korean joint and this IS NOT the place to check out. I really, really, really hope that you read this before going to this restaurant. The few reasons why I would not come back to this restaurant is: price, taste, and ambiance. The price is decently priced but once they bring the meats out, it's quite pricey. Spent $60 on two beef dishes..... let me tell you, you will not be full or happy with the portions. Their portions are small and pricey for what they serve. End of story. We ordered P2 & P3 which unfortunately neither had enough flavor. The ambiance was really mediocre. We asked for more side dishes, the waitress asked us if we were going to order more meat! Seriously. I've been to so many Korean restaurants and they've never been this stingy on side dishes. The waitress was serious, she wouldn't give us additional side dishes if we didn't order more food. Trust me people, do not waste your time or energy on his place. I read some of the reviews and should have took the other Yelp reviews before walking into the restaurant. Hope you read this before going here!
