Best Korean Restaurants in Boston | Eater Boston

"This Cambridge Korean barbecue spot is a short walk from Central Square in Cambridge. On weekends, groups of dinner-goers form lines that go around the block in the otherwise quiet neighborhood. The restaurant offers a range of classic Korean barbecue cuts, such as prime short ribs, pork belly, marinated chicken, and more." - Erika Adams

The food was really good! I personally think this is one of the best Korean restaurants near Boston!! The Naengmyeon (냉면) 🍜 was really good and the beef dumplings were so delicious 🥟. I really recommend trying this place! Apparently, this restaurant is one of the oldest Korean restaurants near the Boston area!! The staff were so kind and the place is clean.

Google
I'll give it 4 stars overall. It was a good meal. Nothing mind blowing. Got bulgigi, galbi, and vegetable BBQ. I wouldn't get veggie BBQ again. We got it because we had party of 4 and the other folks wanted some more veggies which is fair. The service wasn't bad overall. Towards the end, they left some ribs on the stove and definitely forgot about it lol. It came out to about $30 per person which isn't bad.

Google
Nice Korean BBQ. The beef quality is good and the service is very nice. We 4 people ordered three meats one soup and finished everything. Highly recommend the Galbi. The Galbi Tang is good as well. A bit hard to find parking but on Wednesday night, street parking is ok. I walked to the restaurant after parking two blocks away.

Google
I LOVE THIS PLACE 😍 it’s such a gem!!! The food is always DELICIOUS and so flavorful! The staff is also really nice and I love the decor inside. My husband I love this place so much we went 2 days straight back to back. It’s totally worth every penny and I would recommend this to anyone!! I can’t wait to go back again! Everything we have tried has been incredible. The only things I wouldn’t order again are the seafood scallion pancake and dumplings just because they’re fried and made my stomach upset. My husband and I HATE driving into Cambridge due to the limited parking, cyclists, and overall rude Cambridge residents, but we always make an exception for this place!!

Google
I really really enjoy all the foods here, I will recommend the Korean bbq, pork belly (no sause one) and beef bulgogi are all excellent, the small plates/dishes can be refill once without additional charges (vegetable as well). The most wonderful thing is that we do not have to cook by ourselves, it is hard for us to estimate the time for the meat, therefore, they cooked for us and we finally got the perfect meal time!!!! I was surprised that we only spent $35 for each person to get fantastic foods. Anyway I will recommend my friends come here and visit next time if there is chance:)🥰✨❣️

Google
The food was pretty good. Tried a variety of stuff. I liked the kimchi pancake better than the scallion pancake but both of them were pretty oily though. The gyoza was also decent. I loved their pork bulgogi. It was absolutely delicious.Loved the bibimbap and the Chapchae as well. Now I have been to Koreana twice and the service has been consistently bad. The first time when I went there, they completely ignored us while they were pretty attentive towards other people. The second time they were comparatively attentive but the person taking the order yelled at us. Also we had to wait a long time to put our order in for the main dishes as there were only two people handling the orders. So overall, plus points for the food and negative points for the service!

Google
Prompt, friendly, courteous, attentive service. Parking can be a chore, but it is definitely worth the trip. Fresh produce & sides. Enjoyed the scallion pancake. Beef & chicken portions a little light versus pricing.. but overall, a pleasant dining experience!

Google
Brought my wife to Korean BBQ for the first time and it was a hit. The prices were good and the service was awesome. Meats were tender and delicious with all of the sides such as kimchi etc. Would happily suggest to visitors friends and family.

Yelp
Koreana is a great place to come for KBBQ! In the Boston area, though I would love for there to be more options for KBBQ/AYCE options, I am appreciative that Koreana is around! I love getting the tofu stew soup, tteokboki, japchae, beef & pork spicy bulgogi meats to grill. They are very generous with the banchans and servers are incredibly kind and helpful.

Yelp
An average KBBQ place. The prices are a bit high $37 for galbi and $26 for pork shoulder but you do get a big portion of meat. They also have lots of side dishes. It's good for family style meals or sharing with friends. Service is a little slow and they shut down for an afternoon break. Check their hours before going or you might be waiting for 30 mins.

Yelp
Koreana has good Korean food, but can be a little pricey for the portions and quality of food. They won't seat you until your whole party arrives, so just make sure everyone is there! I got the short rib plate which came with lettuce and side dishes. The meat was good, but, like I mentioned earlier, quite expensive.

Yelp
I have been to Koreana many times for Korean food and despite the average ratings on Yelp, I find the food here to do the job. I just got to try the Korean bbq here and I was pleasantly surprised! I have always seen the meats being brought to other tables and they looked high quality. Like most bbq places, they have a 2 order minimum for bbq. It comes with rice, banchan, lettuce wraps, sesame oil/salt and samjang. I got pork belly and the boneless short ribs, and although the prices aren't cheap (about $35 per dish) the portions are massive and this would definitely be enough for 3 or maybe 4 people depending how much you eat. They cook the meat for you which is nice but it was a little confusing when I thought the server said the pork belly was done but I don't think it was fully done (not raw but not crispy enough). The pork belly was thick cut and went well with the samjang and kimchi. The lettuce they gave was soaked in water and kind of bitter so I didn't eat it. The boneless short ribs were really tender and flavorful and I think I liked that one the best. Overall, the bbq here is great! Not as good as Naksan but it is far cheaper. I wish they had all you can eat or some meat or seafood combos so small groups could try a little bit of everything. Other than that, will for sure be coming back!

Yelp
We were stopped by here for lunch. My friend wanted eat Korean food so we went to this place. My dog was service dog and always I putted my dog in the bag but they didn't wanted accept us like customers because of my dog. She's really quiet in her bag and no one knows dog is in the bag. I asked them and show them proof of my dog as service dog. And they said ok. We ordered yukgaejang and spicy sir fried squid. I eaten better food anywhere else. Maybe we choose wrong food, should try bbq in my opinion. I don't want to go this place again for eat Korean. Very clean and big restaurant. They're not very friendly in my experience.

Yelp
First time at a traditional Korean Barbecue restaurant and I was blown away. My daughter and I arrived around 6 without reservations on a Saturday, it was very busy but we got a table quickly. It's a large bustling room with basic tables and bright lights, not particularly elegant but fun. We sat at a table with a built-in grill and started with the kimchee scallion pancake, which was absolutely the bomb, hot and crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside, some tangy kimchi flavor mixed with the sweeter scallion flavor. Something I could eat all day. For our meats we ordered Pork Belly (Sam Gyup) and marinated beef (Galbi). When you order at least two items from the barbecue table menu they automatically bring you about 7 small plates of condiments, like kimchi and picked brocolli and mini sliced fish cakes, plus white rice and lettuce leaves. Our server placed the meats on the grill and we tended them, and she returned and used scissors to cut them into bite-sized pieces. Then it was just up to us to mix and match all the flavors into variations of deliciousness, including making rolling everything into lettuce leaves. My favorite of our meats was the Pork belly. For drinks we shared a bottle of the Korean Cass beer and a bottle of the Chamisul soju (Korean rice liquor), and we poured shots of the soju into the beer as is done (acc to my daughter) in Korea. The soju's not that strong, I think 17% ABV but it adds flavor to the beer. Such a great meal, I will be back!!!

Yelp
Service is mid. Food is good but honestly overpriced for its value. It'd be cooler if it was a buffet style! I do recommend the noodles and hot stews

Yelp
Not many great KBBQ options in Boston, but this is certainly one of best ones. Reading the reviews, it seems the experience is heavily dependent on your server, but I'm happy to say that the last 2 times I've been we've had excellent, attentive service (our very lovely waitress did say they were chronically short-staffed, so that can explain other reviews). I've come at off-peak times and during peak times, and both times service was great. Overall, very solid KBBQ option, but would only stick to the Galbi for beef (the bulgolgi was disappointing)- it was quite rich, tender, and fatty. You have to order at least 2 BBQ entrees to use the grill, so come prepared to eat, bring home leftovers, or dine with a group of 4. The banchan is unlimited and refillable and quite tasty actually- really liked their pickled daikon. The broccoli could have been fresher looking, though. The seafood pancake was crispy and generously portioned. We also sampled the tofu soup and a veggie dolsot bibimbap, both solid, nothing too memorable. Waters were always topped off. Prices are the highest I've ever paid for KBBQ but it's also Boston, so maybe this is normal.

Yelp
This is one of those places that cooks the bbq meats for you which I personally like. I think this is the best kbbq spot in the Boston area. Not much parking around the area but the food is pretty good. I liked the galbi and the japchae.

Yelp
Always my go to Korean Barbecue place! Still amazing flavors and love the Kalbi and bonchon! The food is fresh fresh fresh! The best spicy squid dish ever! I love it when the servers cook for you. Makes me feel like royalty!

Yelp
HORRIBLE, horrible service! We made a reservation last evening for my friend's birthday. We were going to go at 8:30, but they close at 9:30pm, and requested we make our reservation at 8pm to give us plenty of time to eat. We arrive and first thing we're greeted with on this 95 degree day is a dining room thats at least 85 degrees. Full of people, they seat us when our party is all accounted for. I understand the a/c could have went out, not their fault, but it still was an unpleasant surprise nonetheless. We are seated and are served waters by someone other than our waitress. - By the way, we are all workers of the food industry ourselves and conducted ourselves politely and respectfully. - Our waitress was completely disrespectful and her attitude was uncalled for. She was mean and annoyed with us the whole time for simply sitting at the table. "What do you want?" was the first thing she said to us. We didn't know if she meant drinks, appetizers, entrees... all of it? We had just sat down. And then of course, she was ticked off that we were still looking at the menu when we had literally just scanned the QR code to view the menu. Regardless of that fact, we really didn't take that long to make our decisions, considering she was rushing us and staring daggers into our souls to get on with it. Pretty much the entire night she was avoiding our table, left us with no water, would walk by us and report back to her fellow coworkers and they'd all look and talk about us for some reason. When she would come by it was to rush the meat cooking and to toss it around. AND she was literally turning the grill down every time she walked by, to the point where we had to turn the flame back up ourselves because our meat wasn't cooking. When she noticed, she said "Can I turn this off now? Are you done yet?" If I had a dollar for every time we said thank you to her. We asked for ice cream for my friends birthday. It's funny because they were trying to rush us out of there, yet she took a million years to bring out the ice cream. And when she brought it out, she slammed them on the table passive aggressively in the middle of us having a conversation. It was literally 8:50 at this point. 40 minutes till close, not ordering any more food. Chill out babe. But the cherry on top, was the TIP. THE FORCED TIP. They take a 20% tip from parties of 5 or more. Our party was of exactly 5 people who asked of nothing and not only tolerated the blatant disrespect, but thanked her for whatever she did do. THEN, it asks for an additional tip on top of the first tip!!! I too have a job where I rely on tips. But it's the fact that she knowingly chose to be so rude to us, because she was already getting a 20% tip from us. So, why be nice if you don't have to? They're gonna tip you anyways!! Completely messed up. I tip everywhere I go, and even with this experience, I was still going to tip. But most definitely not 20% to be treated like crap. Food was pretty good, portions were small.

Yelp
A solid Korean restaurant choice in the Boston area! The meat is also very reasonably priced with good portions - there can be a bit of a wait time (especially on weekends), but if you're not in a rush, it's pretty chill to wait! Only thing I would say is that not all servers are attentive to cooking the meat for you, so it wasn't clear to me if we were expected to cook our own or if they were supposed to do it for you. Our server would skip us several times until a different one noticed and she started coming to our table more. I don't mind cooking the meat myself but appreciate clarity on if I am to be doing so.

Yelp
We came here on a Friday night with no reservation. We were quoted 30 minutes so we walked to a near bar and had a drink. We got a call that they were ready for our table. We walked back and were seated. With four guys and one girl, we ordered four orders of meat and soju and beer. The banchan was good and they brought out enough. We also got two stews (kimchi and doenjang). It was all good and service was great. For Boston, it is great. I would definitely go back.

Yelp
Had the brisket (good) pork(good), chicken(just ok) and shrimp tempura (good) Service was good here as they came around to help us cook and chop up some food. They did turn the heat down a bit and i had to keep turning it back up because I didn't have 2 hours to spend on lunch. Ambiance and instructions could be way better. They gave you a lot with the grilling but no explanation of what things are. Not ideal if it's your first time at this place or a similar place.

Yelp
Overall: solid Korean food, wide variety of options, but a tad pricey (but maybe that's to be expected for Korean BBQ). We came here in a group of 7 people and got seated at a table with two BBQ grills. For apps, we got the scallion pancakes and tteokbokki (simmered rice cakes), which were great. Because we were a larger group, the hostess said that we had to get at least 3 meat options, which was a little annoying since the meats were quite expensive and we really only wanted to get two (the galbi and bulgogi). We added an extra pork dish to satisfy the requirement. The BBQ was awesome and tasted great wrapped in the provided lettuce wraps with a little bit of rice. The ban chon (Korean side dishes) were also bomb and on the more generous side compared to what I've seen in Boston. All in all, a solid spot for Korean food in Cambridge!

Yelp
One of the best Korean grill restaurant that I only go to. Thank god this place is far away from where I live or I would have been fat. 10/10 for the food and services.

Yelp
Great KBBQ! It was my first time eating here, but I've heard great things. It lives up to the hype! We (2 people) got the sam gyup sal, deung shim, seafood scallion pancake, and the bibim naengmyun. The meat was SO GOOD. The servers cook it for you, and the meat was expensive, but high quality. Both meats were big portioned, and it was enough food for two people. The bibim naengmyun was our favorite as well. I've never had it before, and I liked the soup flavors a lot. I think we couldve skipped the scallion pancake, it was just okay. Overall, this place is expensive, but I think it's worth it. Would def come back for more KBBQ.
google avatar

Nancy H.

Yelp
This is my favorite kbbq spot! It gets packed quick and it is hard to find parking so that's the downside. It is quite expensive after ordering a few dishes but this is arguably the best kbbq spot I can find in Boston. The meat does not taste frozen or poor in quality. They offer a variety of soups, rice plates, and Korean alcoholic beverages. If you like something light and sweet as a side beverage to complete your meal, I suggest trying the peach makgeolli (rice wine).

Steven P.

Yelp
A+ for achieving higher levels of mediocrity over the years. Went last night for the most rushed meal of my life where the staff will continuously come over to try and cook the meats way faster than you can eat it so you can enjoy your $36 galbi cold. Pork belly also stiff and super dry like the staff here. For the love of beef stop trying to touch the meats. Staff is more worried about trying to leave exactly at 10 on the dot rather than cultivate a decent dining experience. Downhill. Vibes definitely off in this place. Get meats from Hmart and grill your own stuff at home, this place ain't it.

Yelp
Koreana has been on my to-try list for a while, and I finally ventured my way to this corner of Cambridge the other day when I was craving tang su yook in particular (and reluctant to make the usual trek to Allston). It turned out to be a bit disappointing, to be sure - not the food itself, but rather that I've lived here for so long but never came by! Food was really amazing and I was honestly a bit surprised that this restaurant wasn't more well-recommended. For the three of us we ordered a bunch of dishes to share - a kimchi pancake, a doenjang jjigae, tang su yook, dolsot bibimbap, and yuk gae jang. I found the kimchi pancake to be quite bland, but other than that, everything was really delicious. My favourite parts were the yuk gae jang - such a rich broth, juicy shredded beef, tasty noodles, and a nice touch of egg - and the tang su yook - the perfect combination of juicy inside/crispy outside, paired with a sweeter-than-normal (but still very yummy) sauce. I think our meal was pricier than I expected (even with general rising costs), but in my experience, Cambridge doesn't have the widest selection of authentic Korean food, so I'm pretty OK with that - and am already looking forward to my next visit!

Yelp
The quality of this place has been going down for the quite a while now. Given there's no kbbq nearby we had no options. The service is pretty subpar, side dishes are old and only can be refilled once. Meat quality is horrendous, and dishes come dirty. The side dishes have a stale taste and cannot be refilled. Which as a Korean, is the first time I have heard of it The meat is frozen and has the old freezer taste. Even after cooking it leaves a bad after taste. The chadol had no fat, moksal has at stench, kalbi is now as thin as 2 brisket layered. Just poor quality overall. The Korean servers looked miserable. I tracked one down to order a stew and he said "why are you asking me, ask your server". I asked him if he can get my server, he walked away and ignored me. Like all Asian restaurants it's a bad sign when there are no Koreans eating there. Cutting corners and terrible service. It's easy to fool non-Koreans with this level of quality but this is the worst kbbq I've been to in the states. Hopefully this review is a wake up call if they end up seeing it.

Yelp
We stopped in to try korean bbq and found this spot to be great. They seated us quickly and the food was brought out fast. We enjoyed the two meals we ordered and would eat here again.

Yelp
Funny story is, each time I go to Boston craving korean bbq, I coincidentally end up back here. How I learned that lesson is the 2nd time I visited Boston for a convention, I return here seated in the same table. Life is funny indeed. And of course we order the same reliable thing: an order of Kalbi bbq beef cuts, tteobokki (rice cakes) with melted cheese on top, and two flavors of soju. First time was a success with soju orders as you can't go wrong with lychee and green grape or pineapple. But our second time, mango soju was a mistake, don't order that if you value your soju addicted taste buds. The kalbi beef ribs are always a great popular and safe choice for a bbq dish (good enough to share between a party of 3). Tteobokki was also a good add-on if you need your spicy and cheesy party in your mouth fix. Service here was great and it's always enlightening to get a table immediately when you've endured long searches for parking. But it is a no frills korean bbq place that's good if you're trying to save money compared to all the expensive fancy options in this area. Good for the college students in the area and Boston city goers.

Yelp
Food was great. Service was excellent. It was a line out front, but they made room for a single day of walking distance from my Airbnb. I was a happy camper.

Kelly D.

Yelp
What a fun and tasty experience. We were late for our reservation but they were nice enough to accommodate our party of 6. Very helpful to figure out how to order enough food and everything very fresh and flavorful A new favorite place to go.
google avatar

Amanda C.

Yelp
Food was good, but over priced. I didn't like that the employees make the food for you. Also, we waited 45 min for a table which was fine but they don't allow you to sit at the bar. Or even drink at the bar. You cannot order anything while waiting. Very rushed experience as well.

Yelp
Force customers to give more tips. I was about to leave and the waiter just directly came to our table asking us to change the amount of tips.

Yelp
Koreana offers a wide selection of Korean cuisine as well as kbbq as the name suggests. I thought the food quality was average - a solid option if you're craving kbbq and don't want to travel far, but really didn't impress me. Around dinnertime the place is pretty packed and you may have to wait for a table or just make a reservation. When I went with my family, they did provide a decent portion of meat with each order (my go to is always the chadol baegi - beef brisket). I like that the meal comes with pickled radish to wrap with the meat given that not all kbbq places offer this. The korean pancake was also not bad and was pretty thick. The bonchon (korean side dishes) quality needs some work - wasn't a huge fan of their kimchi. I also thought it was strange that they give only one of each sauce for the kbbq as opposed to a personal sauce cup for each person, like I am used to at other kbbq places.
google avatar

Jack L.

Yelp
I've been to a couple of kbbq restaurants and this one was just different. I definitely felt rushed to finish eating from the start and I wonder if that was intentional or not. Servers were cooking the meat on the grill in front of us which seems pretty unorthodox, but definitely felt like they were trying to push us out quickly. Wish I could have gone at my own pace in terms of eating, but they had already started cooking the next batch of meat! In terms of quality - the pork belly was really amazing, but the brisket dried up pretty fast especially since it was being cooked while we were still eating the pork belly. The appetizers were solid, but I think it was missing the pickled horse radish! Maybe it's a Boston thing so I gotta try out more kbbq here, but I think value was lacking here.

Yelp
After living in Boston for a while I felt deprived of Korean BBQ so I decided to check this place out. Like many other Asian restaurants around the city, this spot is good enough to hit a craving but I can't see myself coming here unless I'm desperate for Korean BBQ. Service: Called in during the week to make a reservation for Saturday evening. When we arrived for the reservation, the entire restaurant was packed and I heard the hostess telling walk-in parties that the wait could be up to an hour. Since the restaurant was so busy, they were only seating full parties even if you made a reservation ahead of time. If your party was incomplete, then they would hold your table for 10 minutes. My group wasn't complete until 20 minutes past our reservation, so the hostess apologetically told me that she had to give up our table since the restaurant was so busy. She told us that she'd give us the next available table and luckily we only waited about 5 more minutes to get seated. My experience with the service here was great even though everyone was super busy on a Saturday. The servers were kind and happy to answer any questions we had about the menu. They replenished our side dishes when we asked for more. Food: My group of 5 decided to mostly order items to grill. We got the jumullok galbi (marinated and boneless $35.95), deungshim (32.95), sam gyup sal ($25.95), and u sel ($27.95). We also got a kimchi pancake ($13.95) as a starter. Each meat order comes with one bowl of rice. I couldn't tell if the servers were supposed to grill the meat for us or if we were supposed to grill them ourselves; they would start the grill for us and if they came by when there was no meat on the grill they would place the meat on the grill for us, but they were so busy that we ended up grilling most of the meat ourselves. The kimchi pancake barely had any kimchi in it and it was the thickest kimchi pancake I've ever encountered in my life. While it was thick, it was pretty airy and crispy so it almost reminded me of a savory funnel cake. The pancake itself was pretty bland and did not come with any sauce. No flavor + no sauce + no kimchi = do not recommend. I recommend the sam gyup sal and the julmullok galbi. You can't really go wrong with unmarinated pork belly and the sam gyup sal was able to get nice and crispy on the grill. The julmullok galbi had a nice marinade and the meat stayed very tender even after being cooked. However, I've had much better galbi in the west coast. The u sel came in a big platter but the pieces in the back were much smaller than the pieces in the front. I do not recommend the deungshim-- I am normally a big fan of ribeye but the ribeye here is just not it. The meat itself did not taste like anything and was very tough even though we cooked it to a medium-medium rare. They brought us salted sesame oil and ssamjang for dipping, various side dishes, as well as pickled daikon, lettuce, garlic, and peppers for making wraps. The food portions were perfect for our group of 5. I left feeling full but not uncomfortably stuffed. The service here is excellent (but could be slow on a busy evening). Each grill has a vent built in directly next to the grill so I did not leave with my hair and clothes reeking of meat and smoke. I just wish the food was better...

Yelp
My favorite Korean BBQ place in Boston area. The side dishes are delicious and free. Always go for the japchae with beef. Use lettuce as wrap for the meat and out garlic in it,

Yelp
Food was amazing!! The price as well as the quality of the food is makes it some of the highest tier food you can get in Boston at this price point. I've tried a variety of Korean restaurants in Boston and this one is by far my favorite. Ambiance is alright and the service was fairly quick, but it doesn't detract from the dining experience.

Yelp
stale meat, overburnt plate, bad service, and THEY ASK ME FOR MORE TIP. Never come again

Yelp
Enjoyed Korean Barbecue dinner this past weekend with wonderful friends! We went to Koreana in Cambridge and ordered a spread of food: Beef Bulgogi, Jumollok Galbi, Deungshim, Beef Bibimbop, Vegetable Barbecue, Seafood Scallion Pancake, Seaweed salad, and Edamame. Plus, our meal came with yummy sides - more than 5 kinds! Overall verdict: it wasn't the best KBBQ I've had, but it was good! 3.5 rating: Absolutely loved the Beef Bibimbop (disclaimer, first time trying it but definitely not my last)! Being on the hot plate, the rice was slightly crispy (the good kind) and the vegetables and meat created a perfect complex texture! The Jumollok Galbi was my favorite meat! It had the right amount of fat and juiciness to it. The scallion pancake had great flavor and was BIG, but it wasn't thin nor crunchy enough. Unfortunately the service was not the best either (3/5 stars for service) For photos of the food ordered checkout Instagram reel @foodwithsusie

Yelp
This is our favorite Korean BBQ place in all of MA. Despite the draw of AYCE Korean BBQ buffets, they do not compare to the quality ingredients and service of a real place! Located in Cambridge, MA, this place is always PACKED around dinner time no matter what day of the week - but weekends are with the longest wait. Pro Tip: they take reservations 24 hours or more ahead of the time you want to dine - so call them to RSVP before you go. The service is wonderful and the food is delicious. My favorites are the scallion pancak Galbi, spicy pork bulgogi, spicy marinated chicken, and the soondubu jiigae with pork and a cracked egg on top. Their side dishes are also very good!

Yelp
Very poor service and food's portion is getting smaller and smaller. Nothing fancy about the restaurant!

Service is great! And we love Korean barbecue. Price is good for the quality. My husband loves the big soup that has everything. Why not 5 stars- many issues with parking+ they don't have a full bar. (They sell beer, wine, sake and cocktails with soju/sake) other than that this place is great,

Yelp
Good is clean and no sign of msg. Friendly staff and enough portion of food. Interesting variety of dishes and that girl made taste. Recommend this place.

Yelp
I went with my friends on an evening night and they were decently busy. The food a bit pricey, but tasted good and the ambiance was nice. The issue came when we had paid and we're on our on the way out. One of the waiters came running and shouting after us to tip more, saying they'd get in trouble with their manager if we didn't. This has never happened to me before, was a wildly inappropriate way to handle the situation, and makes me question what kind of management this place is under to pressure their employees to do something like this.

Yelp
I found a WAD of hair in my food. Beyond disgusted and nauseous bc it was so balled up and looks like there's LINT in it too. I brought the seafood pancake home since I didn't finish it. I ate a piece of it when I looked down and there it was, the ball of lint and hair.. Food was ok and service was pretty fast. But disgusted about the hair, I will not be returning.

Yelp
Hot pots are not for me. I was not a fan of any of it. The rice was paste tasting, not what I am used too. My cousins enjoyed it. Its a nice lil spot, the parking is atrocious. If you drive, count on circling the block a few times. All I had was a glass of wine. So I took my bill separately, They charged me 18% gratuity on a party of 4, I found that to be strange but maybe theres something I dont know. It was literally just my wine on my bill.

Yelp
We walked in on a busy Friday night. Our party arrived in two waves -- the first wave to grab us a table sans reservation -- which is how we found out that they only seat full groups. Even so, it wasn't long -- like, maybe five minutes -- before we were seated at half a large table with a grill in the middle. Server(s) got to us immediately. They were patient and efficient as one of our party did the ordering for all of us. We got the Chum Churum soju to share. In fact, everything to share! The kimchi scallion pancakes and a stirfry. And then rounds of grilled meats and veggies which comes with oodles of sides. They're all good but not all identifiable. What is this thing I'm eating? It doesn't matter. It was all good. And by the time we left, the line waiting to get in filled the entry and vestibule and spilled out onto the sidewalk. We got there just in time!

Yelp
Koreana hits the spot if you're craving KBBQ, but there are better options elsewhere. The service is the main reason this place loses stars - the servers were pretty inattentive and forgetful. The BBQ meat was really great though! Their Marinated Galbi and Pork Belly were delicious, it was easy to get good sears while retaining juiciness. They also have really good side dishes, specfically the kimchi & pickled radish. Overall, the food was pretty good, but the service wasn't exactly stellar.

Yelp
We used to go to Koreana all the time in the 1990s, despite the mediocre food, because there were very few Korean options. 20-30 years later, the food has not gotten any better, but there are many better alternatives in Cambridge and Allston.

Yelp
I have come a number of times in large and small groups. This is the only Korean BBQ that I know of in Boston so I don't have much to compare it too but I am well versed with all of the ones in K-town, NYC. The meats are pretty decent and the prices good for what they offer. They offer a good variety too which is very nice. The Ban-Chon is excellent and though the waiters don't offer you the refills as they should, they are quick to bring you the refills if you ask. The waiters work hard, don't chat us up and cook efficiently; it's perfect. I believe you can't make a reservation unless you have a large group but it is a fairly large restaurant so as long as you aren't going in the middle of peak time, the wait time shouldn't be bad. I think they also do sushi but I do NOT go there for sushi. I highly recommend this place and hope they stay in business!

Yelp
I used to go here a lot during my time in college. I enjoy their side dishes before the bbq. I like the variety of meats that are offered. People are always open and willing to help or assist with orders. It has been my go to spot for Korean BBQ while in town. I enjoy the ambiance and it feels nice and clean.

Yelp
I went here with some friends on a Friday night to hopefully try some delicious Korean food. While they did not disappoint, it didn't blow me away. Everything we ordered was decently mediocre; it satisfied our cravings, but didn't leave us wanting to come back. Yuk Gae Jang 7/10 - For about $7 (before tax), you can get a warm, filling soup. While it is small-sized, if you eat it with some rice on the side, it will feel you up. It has a good amount of tender beef and thin glass noodles. Dolsot Bibimbap 7/10 - The bibimbap was pretty solid. It wasn't mind-blowing, but if you're craving some bibimbap, this would fill you up. The rice on the bottom was only slightly crispy. The meat was decently seasoned and the vegetables were good.

Yelp
Went here with my Korean girl friend with high hopes that were dashed by the mediocrity of the food. Hey , I get it isn't NYC, but this is a major city.....come on, you can do better.....if any of the schools here are playing Rutgers go to Kimchi Hana in Edison...superior Korean cuisine and it isn't NYC....no excuse Boston!

Yelp
This place has been on my list of places to try for so long and it did not disappoint! There were so many vegetarian options but my favorite has to be the dimbimbop and the rice cakes! Spicy and so much flavor it's something you'll definitely start to crave

Yelp
I loved the vibes of this place -- authentic. I went as a group of 4 and we got the bbq order of spicy pork bulgogi and brisket as well as 2 extra orders of rice (each order of meat comes with one order of rice). The portion size along with all the included size was great for 4 people. We could've gotten a third order if not for getting the tteokbokki (spicy rice cake). The rice cakes were so good! We got cheese and the dish was not too spicy which was perfect for our group. The service was also great and our waitress helped cook the bbq meat. We will be coming back! And next time I'll take a picture.
