This location is epic, right across from the beach with a full beach view - can't go wrong with that! Art is served here, disguised as food, and on beautiful dishes too!
Some of the dishes served are so beautiful in presentation - I would have loved to see pictures beforehand - it was a little difficult to interpret the dishes into what it would be in the end. For example, my dining partner ordered an epicly decadent dish that was served in a huge glass cup with lettuce sticking out of it, the cup contents soaked in an orange liquid. The taste was really delicious!
My order, which came from the same portion of the menu, was plated in a traditional manner. Which was fine by me- I ordered the traditional ceviche and got exactly what I asked for. It was really, really pleasant. I really enjoy the acidity mixed with the soft sweet potato and the crunchy corn kernels.
Likewise, the dessert menu was difficult to interpret, as the items had little description. We shared the french toast and the chocolate cake with lucuma ice cream. It was also very tasty.
Unfortunately, like many restaurants these days, Kousine was terribly understaffed, thus it took a really long time for the entrees to be served, and the desserts. Our waiter was very nice, very sweet; thank you! I felt sorry for him being swamped with so many people there at lunchtime. He handled it with grace though!
