Kres Chophouse - Review - Downtown Orlando - Orlando - The Infatuation

"Whether you're headed to a show at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts two blocks away or celebrating a special occasion that calls for 20 ounces of aged ribeye, Kres Chophouse has you covered. Housed in a 1930s art deco landmark, this steakhouse will serve you one deeply satisfying, calorie-laden meal, from the steak tartare starter to the whiskey-spiked white chocolate bread pudding. What’s unusual about Kres is that it’s the place to bring your vegan friends, too, thanks to the big plant-based menu section, featuring great vegan versions of dishes like beef wellington." - Cheryl Rodewig

Dinner was phenomenal! Food was excellent!! Steaks cooked perfectly. I would have given the restaurant 5 stars but sadly our service wasn't great. Our server was very short with us through out the whole dinner. Also said he "assumed" we would pay our check a certain type of way. Not sure exactly why you would make any type of assumptions being in customer service. Additional training wouldn't be a bad idea. We appreciated the gentleman (not sure if he was the manager) coming to the table to ask if we were enjoying our food. And the greeters were very pleasant!

If you find yourself wandering through Downtown Orlando and craving an unforgettable dining experience, look no further than Kres Chophouse. Nestled in a historic building, this upscale steakhouse effortlessly blends classic charm with a modern twist, making it one of the hottest spots in the area. The menu is a delightful adventure, offering everything from the rich decadence of Beef Wellington to the adventurous Wild Game, and even treats like escargot and Jumbo Australian Lobster Tails. And for those with dietary preferences, fear not—Kres has thoughtfully included vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options (upon request) that don’t skimp on flavor. Let’s talk about the ambiance. The bustling atmosphere is vibrant yet intimate, perfect for a romantic dinner or a celebratory gathering with friends. We were lucky enough to snag a reservation (definitely plan ahead, as it’s a popular spot!), and the service was impeccable. Our server was not only friendly but also incredibly knowledgeable and guided us through the menu with ease. When we mentioned we had to catch a performance of The Lion King just down the street, he ensured we were in and out in perfect time, without feeling rushed. Now, onto the food! One highlight was the homemade bread served warm, paired with a garlic and olive oil dip that had us wishing for more. The Filet Mignon Steak Tartar was divine, and the Winterfrost Spinalis, a 7oz rib cap with smashed Yukon potatoes, was a melt-in-your-mouth experience. With a fantastic wine list and a lively cocktail selection at the “Red Bar,” Kres Chophouse truly has it all. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just looking for a memorable night out, this gem in downtown Orlando is not to be missed!

I was searching local restaurants on our recent trip to Orlando Fl and came across this gem. The food, drinks, service and atmosphere was A1 . I’m not getting paid to say these things I’m just a huge fan of great food and exceptional customer service and this place delivers. Everyone in the place from the doorman, to the hostess, the waiter and manager were all polite, courteous, and professional. My wife’s steak was juicy and tender and my duck was delicious. If you’re ever in the Orlando area do yourself a favor and eat here you won’t regret it. Best Wishes,

There is absolutely nothing bad I can say about Kres. The food is always amazing. I go to Kres at least once a month. My favorite dish is the lamb loins but if I'm feeling for something light then I would do the mixed grill, and the oysters is a must have with every meal. The staff is always welcoming each and every one of them. David saved my life with a scrunchie on a rainy day and Aubrey makes a perfect French 75 every time. Seriously, Kres is the absolute best!

Google
I usually don’t give five-star ratings, but this time everything was excellent. The ribeye was cooked Pittsburgh style and medium-well, just as I requested: absolutely perfect. Our waitress even took the time to cut the steak in front of us to check the temperature and make sure it was done exactly to my order. The house wine was surprisingly great, and the overall atmosphere made the dinner memorable. The only slight miss was a drink that turned out too sweet for my taste—but it was made correctly, just not my preference. I’m sure they would’ve gladly adjusted it if I had mentioned it. What truly stood out was how they accommodated my wife’s allergies. They went above and beyond to ensure the entire meal was safe and enjoyable for her. That level of care made the evening unforgettable.

Google
Kres Chophouse is a rare gem! While it’s known as a top-tier steakhouse, what truly sets it apart is its full offering of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free entrées and they do not disappoint. We indulged in a five-course vegan dinner and were blown away. Every dish was thoughtfully crafted, rich in flavor, and beautifully presented. You can tell the kitchen puts care into every plate, whether you’re a meat eater or plant-based. Our server was outstanding attentive, knowledgeable, and made the experience feel truly special. The ambiance was upscale but inviting, perfect for a date night or celebration. ⭐ 5 stars! Whether you’re vegan or not, Kres Chophouse delivers an unforgettable dining experience.

Absolutely enjoyed this place on every level. First I have to get a shout out to our server Anjelica, I can honestly say even if the food was terrible (WHICH IT WAS NOT) we would still of loved this place. Amazing personality and made the dining experience amazing. Everything was cooked to perfection on temps. Food was amazing along with the cocktails and wine selection. This is a great date night place or celebration, or honestly, you just want great food. Also shout out to the Bread Pudding, I am not a fan of it normally but holy cow that was amazing! If you are in Orlando and downtown, I would book a reservation, you'll thank me.

Google
We came in because other areas were busy before a concert at the kia center. They had seating at the bar area but thankfully it was full service. The drinks were nicely balanced and interesting, plus they just generally have a very wide selection. The food was more upscale than we planned, but well worth it. I had the elk and escargot, and the half duck. Everything was cooked splendedly and came out in a reasonable amount of time. I am very interested in checking out the vegan menu.

Yelp
Traveling for business in Orlando and happened upon Kres Chophouse in Downtown Orlando. It was a 5 minute walk from my hotel which made this an easy choice after a long day of traveling. The menu had numerous steak and fresh seafood options to choose from as well as several gluten free accommodations. I ended up selecting the shrimp cocktail as a starter-an absolute staple in my opinion. The shrimp came atop a selection of cocktail sauce, house made remoulade, and fresh horseradish which made my heart sing and my sinuses sting with just the right amount of oomf! The filet was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor, the chef absolutely nailed it. The sides are family style and I chose to enjoy a baked potato on my own, fully loaded of course-as if there is another way to enjoy a baked potato. I left no room for dessert but the crème brûlée did try to tempt me from across the room. I also have to say that I experienced some of the best service at a restaurant I have in a long time. The waitstaff was thoughtful, attentive and incredibly friendly. The ambience is also quite welcoming while being upscale. I'm someone who appreciates dim lighting in the steakhouse and Kres nailed it. I have to say I enjoyed the meal and experience so much that I was a repeat visitor the next night as well. This will become a staple for when I'm in Orlando on business.

Yelp
Inattentive staff. 4 of us at the table. 2 got food, 2 had to wait. Appetizer came out before drinks. Had to ask for flatware twice. Drinks were watery. Food average. Won't go back

Yelp
I made a reservation for the wrong day at Kres. When I went in, the host said that she had no available tables but someone else came over and found one last bar top available to give my group. The bar top was near the front entrance and offered great views of the restaurant, the tvs and was good people watching. I am so gratefulful that we got this table! The ambience is always on point and the staff is very courteous, professional and engaging! Now for the best part -- the food! Every single dish was cooked to perfection. Even the cocktails were exceptional! I highly recommend the steaks, scalloped potatoes and desserts!

Yelp
Kres is amazing! The ribeye was cooked perfectly. The Rockefeller oysters were exquisite. I also enjoy their octopus and their drink selection was great. The ambience is very sexy very dark black and red. The wine selection is extensive and our waitress was amazing. Whenever I'm in Orlando, I will visit again.

Yelp
Kres Chophouse may be known for its steaks, but we turned it into a seafood haven and, honestly, what a win. The shrimp and octopus appetizer was delicious, tender, flavorful, the shrimps were HUGE with a tangy vinegar kick. The restaurant itself is all about bold, moody vibes and everything is red, from the walls to the lighting, giving it a sultry, almost theatrical feel. If you're a seafood lover navigating a steakhouse crowd, Kres is absolutely worth a visit. Just start with that shrimp and octopus...trust me.

Yelp
My husband and I wanted to meet up with one of my best friends from college and her husband in Orlando and we chose Kres for dinner specifically because they had a vegan menu that didn't look like it was just an after thought for the non-meat eaters and I'm glad we did! We made reservations about a month in advance for February 13th. We arrived at our reserved time and were seated after about a five minute wait. Our waiter was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu and gave great recommendations! After a lot of internal debate on the cocktails because they all sounded so good, I ended up getting a pistachio martini and it did NOT disappoint in the least! It was a bit sweeter than I wanted with my dinner, but it was overall so good that ultimately I didn't mind at all. I was between the vegan Wellington and the vegan steak, so based on the recommendation of our waiter, I opted for the Wellington with the Idaho mash instead of the sweet potato mash. We also got a side of the truffle fries for the table. Our waiter noted that I had ordered a vegan meal and asked if we wanted the fries vegan as well as they put parmesan on their fries. It was so sweet of him to notice and offer to do that. After ordering, we got bread served to the table with butter, vegan butter, and, my personal favorite, the olive oil dip! The Wellington was very good - the pastry was nice and flaky and the stuffing was flavorful and filling! The truffle fries were nicely seasoned and the truffle was not overpowering at all, but still present. The outside was also crisp to perfection! I would happily come back here to make my way through more of their cocktail and vegan menu!

Yelp
Close to Dr Phillips Center for Performing Arts in the heart of downtown Orlando Kres is renowned for its expertly prepared, house-aged prime steaks and fresh seafood. Service at Kres Chophouse is frequently described as attentive and professional. Staff members are knowledgeable about the menu and accommodating to special dietary needs. The ambiance at Kres is characterized by its blend of classic and contemporary elements. Housed in a restored 1930s building, the interior features bold red and brown tones, plush seating, and modern lighting fixtures, creating an intimate and upscale atmosphere. Great for special occasions, date nights or large group outings. The only rant is parking. Valet is only available beginning 530p. On-street parking is very limited. There is garage parking across the street from Kres that fills up on the lower levels quickly.

Yelp
Going to a chophouse for vegan food might seem counterintuitive: not just in the world of dining out but also in today's macro- and protein-obsessed food culture. But when I heard about Kres' $49 three-course vegan menu (an absolute steal, by the way), I knew I had to try it. And let me tell you, Kres did not disappoint. The quality, portion sizes, and speed of service were all on point. Our server even mentioned that the chef behind their vegan menu has received so much praise that she'll soon be opening her own vegan restaurant. After this meal, I can totally see why. Appetizers: - Oyster Rockefeller: When a menu lists nine ingredients for a vegan oyster, you have to try it. The plating, oysters nestled in a bed of salt, combined with the dim lighting totally tricked me into thinking they had somehow snuck real oysters onto my plate. But then my brain kicked in: Wait, this is supposed to be vegan. No animal products. A closer look revealed tiny mushrooms, and the seaweed caviar? It looked and tasted just like the real thing. Honestly, I'm still a little skeptical. Should've saved some for lab testing. - Chimichurri Tofu Skewers: These chicken-like bites were everything a skewer should be -- flavorful, filling, and perfectly charred. The Worcestershire-spiked remoulade added a depth that I enjoyed. Entrées: - Beef Wellington: A flaky, buttery pastry wrapped around "beef" that seemed to be a blend of walnut mushroom duxelles and black bean seitan (both listed as ingredients). The mushroom flavor was prominent, and the texture was spot on. The port shallot sauce paired beautifully with the "beef," and the thick-cut asparagus, cooked to absolute perfection, made me smile. And I always smile for asparagus, but this one? This one made me smiiiiiiile. - Crispy Chicken Pesto: The least memorable dish of the night. The pasta had great flavor, but the Milanese-style "chicken" was a little underwhelming. Desserts: Both the Strawberry Shortbread Cookie and Chocolate Mousse Cake were rich, well-balanced, and hit that sweet-but-not-too-sweet spot I love in vegan desserts. That's why I prefer them over traditional desserts: they're lighter but still indulgent. These were no exception.

Yelp
Stopped by to grab a few drinks before dinner & WOW! The Pear Martini was chefs kiss. I had 3. This spot offered a happy hour menu which was half priced apps. We got the Octopus & shrimp app & it was just as good as my martini. Great spot, they offer WiFi if you wanna work for a bit as well. The servers/bartenders were great! Very helpful with the menu. Inside is super dark with cool red hints. Would be a good spot for a date or for a large party!

Yelp
Kres Chophouse is a great steakhouse located in downtown Orlando. I went for a business dinner, but it would be a good spot for date night as it is has a romantic vibe. The Wagyu beef carpaccio was my favorite. Definitely a great appetizer to share. I also got the 8 ounce filet that was cooked to perfection. Crème brûlée was the perfect end to an amazing dinner. Service was great.

Yelp
I've been here several times and have a great experience consistently. The drinks are delicious, service is always on point, and food is so satisfying. I've always gotten the filet Wellington because I don't come across it very often and jump at the chance to enjoy one. My party usually gets different selections from me so I get to try and not to my surprise, the bites are delicious. Great for date nights and celebrations. Absolutely worth it and one of my favorites in Orlando.

Yelp
3rd time is still a charm, thank you Kres! The customer service iljust exceeds expectations. The ambiance doesn't get old! The vegan menu is always being updated and it doesn't disappoint! Until next time...eat ,drink, and be merry.

Yelp
Was in the mood for a good steak and this place delivered. Ordered the T-bone and it came out sizzling. Really appreciated how they nailed the medium doneness. The side salad and mashed potatoes were just okay, but the steak made the meal worth it. The restaurant itself was clean and welcoming. Our server had great energy and made us feel taken care of. I'd return for that T-bone again anytime.

Yelp
This restaurant is in downtown so the parking was kind of hard to find. Overall good restaurant though. For starters we had the maine lobster bisque. The lobster bisque itself was good but the portion was super tiny compared to other restaurants I've tried. It looked like there was a bit more room to put more bisque in there. Also had complimentary bread with their infused olive oil which was so addicting. I had the Filet Wellington which was cooked perfectly and I liked the mashed potato's and fried food for the sides too, very delicious. We were also going to order something else but our waiter was very nice and helpful telling us to wait on it until after , and he was right! All the food we had was very filling and we wouldn't have finished if we ordered more. Inside was romantic that's good vibes for a date night.

Yelp
I came here one evening with some friends before a performance of Les Mis at the Dr. Phillips Center. Great location with in the heart of Downtown Orlando. I love seeing good restaurants in the hustle and bustle of the actual city. On the outside, it looks like a normal downtown building, but on the inside, it was lovely and grandiose and elegant. Really comfy booths everywhere. It felt really grand and really private and personal at the same time. Very cool ambiance. Service was classic upscale steakhouse. A few different servers with different jobs for each of them. Glasses always full, complimentary bread service, appropriate pacing of food delivery. No complaints. As for the food, dang. Just dang. I had the 16 oz New York Strip, medium rare, and it was very very good. When it comes to upscale places like this, it was within one standard deviation of the mean, but it was 100% better than anything from a Longhorn or a Roadhouse or anywhere like that. You get what you pay for, certainly. Sides were all great, too. Even better than the steak, comparatively. Crispy brussels, banging. Three cheese au gratin, banging. Parmesan mashed potatoes, banging. Honestly, you could have a five star meal just ordering all nine sides, because they're spectacular. I also got to try the Porterhouse Lamb Loins. Those were very good, too. A little small for me, but what it lacked in quantity, it more than made up for in quality. These petite little puppies were so succulent and lamby, with a beautiful char on the outside. Make sure you gnaw on those bones. So overall, this place was solid. I don't frequent steakhouses, because, you know, red meat is objectively bad for the body. But as a rare treat, this steakhouse was one of the absolute best I've ever been to in town. Come here. You won't regret it.

Yelp
We had an incredibly delicious lunch today at Kres, service was wonderful and our food was so well seasoned and tasty. We had the lobster bisque, Caesar salad, grilled mahi with polenta and vegetables, chicken Caesar and steak freites. Always a great experience at Kres. Till the next time.

Yelp
Pros: Wonderful location right in the middle of downtown. The inside is very beautiful. It feels so big, but the booths also feel so private. Very luxurious. Service was top notch. Multiple servers, all very polite. And the food. Wow. Perfect cook on the meats, excellent sides. Very worth the price. Cons: No cons. The perfect steakhouse. Tips: I got the lamb porterhouse loins, and they were sooo good. Very tender and the best taste of lamb. A good char on them, too. Also, the potatoes gratin were perfect. Perfectly thinly sliced, making them the perfect side for some steaks.

Yelp
The food is exceptionally good and beautifully presented. We are plant based and to have choices available was marvelous. I had the Oyster Rockefeller, the beef Wellington and the gooey chocolate dessert. My wife had the chickpeas & artichoke "crab cakes" , then the hearts of palm "lobster" and lemon semolina cookie for dessert. We shared with each other everything and agreed that it was a perfect meal. The service was impeccable our waiter was Laz and we also had service from Heidi

Yelp
KRES never misses ‼ Every single experience has been excellent from the service to the food and this latest one was no different. The NY Strip Au Poivre is the best value on the menu! It's a Surf & Turf 12oz NY Strip w/ Peppercorn, Grilled Shrimp, Broccolini and Mushroom Risotto all for $50! My preferred temperature was Medium and it's always cooked to perfection. If you look closely you can see just how accurately they find that perfect 135° internal temperature. This will always be my first choice for Steak in Orlando and I know you will enjoy it

Yelp
Kres is one of the top dinning spots downtown. The ambience is top notch with moody light and red tones. Bar seating is open and no need for reservations. We came here strictly for dessert! We ended up getting my favorite Dark Chocolate Molten Turtle, it comes baked to order with an oozie chocolate center fruits and ice cream that's covers in these sweet roasted nuts! The other dessert is White Chocolate Bread Pudding, it was quite yummy but did contain alcohol so if you don't drink or are not a fan I would have some caution with this dessert! Can't wait to go back :)

Yelp
Not many places have tasty plant based or vegetarian options, so shoutout to Kres! Came here with family to celebrate a birthday and we enjoyed ourselves. We all got the various vegan options were pleasantly surprised. Wasn't a big fan of our waiter, he had an interesting attitude all night, so hopefully I don't get him again lol. Parking isn't the easiest, but it's downtown... so that's obvious lol.

Yelp
This for me m, this is the best steakhouse in Orlando. The diner, service & the steaks, were excellent.

Yelp
I have been wanting to try Kres for a long time now and finally was able to do so to mark an anniversary of a long-ago first date that my husband and I celebrate every year. We are oil-free vegans most of the time for health reasons, but allow ourselves to lapse and indulge in vegetarian dishes when we eat out. Some time ago I learned that, apart from being a chophouse, Kres has a full and varied multi-course vegan menu. To make a long story short, Kres is now my favorite restaurant in Orlando. The menu presented many imaginative and delicious choices. We opted for the three-course fixed-price menu. I had the chickpea and artichoke "crab cakes," the hearts of palm "lobster" and the lemon semolina cookie dessert. My husband had "oysters" Rockefeller, the "beef" Wellington and the gooey chocolate dessert. All were absolutely delectable and beautifully presented. During the meal, when we had a discussion with the vegan manager, Heidi, about the recipe for the "crab" cakes and we opined about the fact that we missed cheese so much in our diet, she insisted our waiter, Laz, bring us the the Romaine Wedge to share. It was crisp, fresh and loaded with yummy house-made tofu bleu cheese, and rice paper "bacon" crumbles that I know I will be trying to duplicate in the future. She also was kind enough to give us a little cup of bleu cheese to take home. Laz was as efficient and friendly a waiter as one could ever ask for. We can't wait for the next occasion to visit Kres again.

Yelp
Really nice restaurant with a beautiful decor, friendly staff and very chill atmosphere. I ordered the NY steak au poivre and it was insane. The quality of the beef was phenomenal, it was like butter. I shall return...

Yelp
Kres is THE place to be if you want a delicious meal with top tier service. Our waitress was incredible an absolute gem! Aside from the fantastic service we had a delicious meal! I had the 16oz ribeye (medium rare of course) , while my boyfriend had the filet Wellington. Both meals were exquisite and cooked to perfection. For the table we also shared shrimp and bacon Mac and cheese, it was creamy and cheesy and all things great. For cocktails he had an old fashion and I had an apple martini, both were made with love! Our second experience here and we WILL be back
google avatar

Yelp
Kres Chophouse was a solid choice for a belated birthday dinner, but I have to say, it was just good. The service was great--upscale and attentive--and our server made some good recommendations, which is always appreciated. They even had a full vegan menu, which was a nice touch, though I'm not vegan myself. As for the food, the steak I ordered was good, but not out of this world, but good. The potatoes were flavorful, but the "crispy" brussels sprouts were a letdown--they weren't crispy at all. Kres has a nice atmosphere for a downtown Orlando spot and isn't overly expensive for a steakhouse, but overall, the experience was just okay. There are better options if you're looking for something a bit more memorable.

Yelp
I would like to share my experience at this restaurant, which featured not only some of the finest steak I have ever enjoyed but also exceptional service. Our server, Matt (Matthew), was attentive without being intrusive, ensuring that we had everything we needed and more. This visit was a birthday celebration, and I thoroughly appreciated both the company and the remarkable food. The grilled asparagus was perfectly crispy, while the filet mignon was exceptionally tender, almost like butter. The house butter sauce was outstanding, and I highly recommend finishing with the white chocolate bread pudding--it is truly a must-try. When we return to Orlando, I will certainly prioritize another visit to this establishment. While the cuisine was exquisite, the top-tier service is something I hope to experience again, especially with Matt as our waiter. Overall, it was a wonderful way to kick off my birthday celebration. The ambiance was very cute but chic. It was very refreshing to see how nicely the restaurant was set up.

Yelp
This is one of the best steakhouses I've been to in a long time. Everything about this restaurant exudes class and elegance without being pretentious. First off, the ambiance allows for a quiet and intimate meal without feeling too stuffy. The restaurant has tables spread out so that diners can actually have a conversation without having to talk over diners nearby. The service was wonderful. Attentive without being overbearing. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu. The food was simply divine. From the first bite of the bread they offered, we knew we were in for a treat. The sourdough was served with this delectable garlic dipping sauce. It made for the perfect bite to start our meal. We ordered oysters Rockefeller for an appetizer. I cannot rave enough about them. Probably the best I've ever had. I only wish there were more in the dish. For my entree, I ordered the filet Wellington. It was delicious. Perfectly flaky puff pastry surrounding a perfectly cooked tender piece of filet. It melted in my mouth. Everything about the dish was amazing. My dining companions all loved their meals and didn't have one bad thing to say. I will definitely be coming back here!

Yelp
Everything was delicious and service was amazing! It was an amazing place for date night (very romantic) before heading over to the Dr Phillips Center.

Yelp
Wonderful time! Go to the bar - ask for Dave, or any bartender really - they were all so great! We headed in here before a show at Dr. Philips Center and sat up at the bar before our reservation time. We ended up loving the atmosphere and service at the bar and decided to stay up there for our food as well. I ordered the steak and shrimp which was cooked perfectly and the seasoning on everything was on point. The sides on my plate are not the usual ones that is served with those proteins, but was instead on another main dish, however, our bartender was gracious enough to let me swap them as I was very interested in those as an alternate. The restaurant itself is a good size with plenty of options for seating. I strongly recommend arriving early for bar seating, or make a reservation for table seating as it gets busy quickly after 5 p.m. Overall: A+ Excellent experience and we will be back!

Yelp
Orlando-We had reservations for mine & my hubby's birthday on a Thursday night. The place is beautiful inside! Cozy, dark, and beautifully decorated. We had a couple of apps. The beef carpaccio was outstanding! We also tried the squid and it was very tender and tasty. There were 4 of us, so everyone got something different. I wanted the salmon dish, but switched the salmon for grouper. The grouper was a "fishy" smelling, but tasted ok. The risotto was a little too al dente, but also tasted ok. Overall I would not recommend this entree. Cesar salad was good. Hubby had the beef Wellington and thoroughly enjoyed it. My GF had a chicken and mashed potato entree. It was also on point. ***Pretty disappointed that our waiter didn't offer any kind of dessert or after dinner drinks to us, especially since it was my BIRTHDAY that very night, (and my hubby's celebration too)!!! Also, while us ladies were in the restroom, someone came along and asked us to vacate the table because they needed it!!! That pretty much sealed the deal for my husband to not ever return. We have NEVER been asked to vacate a table in a high end restaurant. Maybe this isn't high end after all.

Everything went well! Arriving and accessing the building was easy by Uber Uber. They no longer have valet parking but the garage is just under 700 feet from the restaurant entrance. We were late from a show and they honored our reservation 45 minutes later than we were supposed to arrived, they responded to our message cheerfully and welcome us our server Alyssa, was first rate! She was polite, cheerful, and highly skilled as a server. The stakes were absolutely perfect. I asked for the 8 ounce fillet, they fillet it and made it well. Well done and I ordered the absolutely incredible mushrooms. The mushrooms are sourced and picked for Chris and they weren't just regular mushrooms. They were expertly prepared along with the steak. If you ever go to Kres, do not leave without trying the butternut squash risotto rice. It was the first time I tried it, and it was incredible. The restrooms are clean, nicely appointed, and accessible. If you have a chance to go to Orlando, do not leave without treating yourself to a meal at Kres chophouse !

Yelp
Terrific service and even better food. A must for when I'm in Orlando for business. The NY Strip was absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly. If I had to criticize anything it was the fries...hard to mess up but don't add batter to them. Salads, escargot and desserts were all great for our visit.

Yelp
I think the food was amazing and there was a nice menu selection. The service was great too, but the ambiance of the restaurant is just odd. It's very loud and the bar area has tvs like it's a sports bar. It just doesn't fit together well.

Yelp
Never anything less than 5 stars for Kres. Forget Morton's and Ruth's Chris, this is THE steakhouse in Orlando to go to for a splurge or special occasion. It has everything you could want in an upscale steak house - Romantic ambiance, stellar service, impressive wine/drink options & insanely great food that remains consistent with each visit. My boyfriend and I started off with the usual - Two appetizers to share. The oysters are always fresh and the carpaccio is out of this world ridiculously delicious (we can't seem to find another carpaccio that compares). Although we usually order wine, we decided to bring our own bottle this visit ($35 corking fee & they will serve it to you in a decanter upon request). After enjoying our appetizers, we shared our favorite entree here - The Beef Wellington. If you are a steak lover, order this and thank me later. It is melt-in-your-mouth, to die for good. If you have a large appetite, you can certainly eat it all on your own, but we choose to share as it's just the right amount after the two appetizers. The truffle fries were addictive and had just the right amount of truffle flavor. Whenever someone asks me for an Orlando steakhouse recommendation, Kres is always the first one to come to mind. Everyone I have reccomended Kres to reports back to me that they were somewhere between impressed and blown away. If you're a meat lover and you haven't been to Kres yet, you are genuinely missing out!

Yelp
My husband had the grouper with gnocchi. Our server told us that they had just fileted the grouper and it was perfectly cooked and so flaky. I had the beef Wellington. The filet was cooked perfectly medium rare and the pastry was so flaky and yummy. Chris was our server and we wanted for nothing. He kept our wine and water glasses filled!

Yelp
Surprisingly, one of the best steakhouse experiences ever. Sterling and Justin were the waiters for the night. When have you ever been asked for your name? My answer is never. Both waiters had the names for the table down and service simply couldn't have been better or more informative. The place itself feels like an old steakhouse and I believe it has been here for 20 years, so I guess it literally is. Inside is roomy and the table layouts give a good amount of variety for seating, plus it is not loud at all. For dinner, it was the Calamari "Vesuvio" to start. The serving size is pretty big on this one, so you might want to share for more than two people. The Chophouse Caesar - Crispy Points, Parmesan Cheese, Housemade Eggless Caesar Dressing, was good but not the best Caesar I have ever had. I take this as being more different than having anything wrong with it. The real hit of the night was the main meal of New Zealand Elk (8 oz. Filet). It was cooked perfectly and, over the suggestion of the mushrooms, it made for the ideal meal.

Yelp
Imagine going to your valentine dinner and got put in a table at the main entrance that clearly only placed there because they want to stuff more guests at same time on Valentine's. Even if the food was good, can you enjoy it if ur view is people's backs and arses?!?!

Yelp
Santiago, our waiter was so great so helpful very professional and respectful. The new yorkwas very good seasoned to perfection. Nice medium with flavor of peppercorn sauce was very good on top of the steak and the broccoli was very flavorful. You can't go wrong with that. The strawberry margarita wasn't the best margarita I ever had, but it was strong and it was good. The Lolita was a delightful drink. I would recommend if you like sweet cocktails my filet mignon was delicious. No complaints no notes. The ambience was nice and romantic. There was a rose on the table. They do fill up fast to make a reservation early.

Yelp
Today I went to for their lunch menu. Today I took a risk with fish. Man I was pleasantly surprised. I've never had sword fish, to discover its texture to be almost chicken like, shocked my taste buds, especially with what I can only describe as a light brush of fish flavor that wasn't overpowering through the protein. The other surprise was the way they cooked the potatoes. They use the fingerling potatoes with a semi thick cut as the bed for the protein, I was expecting soggy potatoes but it was super crispy, while it was dressed in the of the Parmesan cream sauce. The dish was overall well balanced with flavor that packed a punch but made your taste buds sing for more. The service was amazing especially for a bigger group I didn't feel neglected. And the ambiance was nice but I was in during lunch so that might have helped. This was my order. And the price wasn't bad. Tuscan Style Swordfish $24 Grilled Swordfish, Roasted Tomatoes, Red Onions, Sauteed Kale, Bacon, Gigandes Beans, Crispy Fingerling Potatoes, Parmesan Cream Sauce

Yelp
The restaurant has classic steakhouse flare with deep reds and black decor creating a nostalgic atmosphere. The service here is outstanding. From the moment we entered we were seated right away and had several servers take care of us and check in regularly with us. Very good quality food. Every dish we savored was absolutely delicious.

Yelp
So the ambiance is nice, romantic and upscale. All the food was amazing. Parking is free by valet, they do not validate garage parking. First, my wife has been wanting to go here for awhile but it's a little out of the way for me after work. We went and it lived up to her dream. She's a vegetarian and she had so much to try and the flavors were scrumptious! My fav. was the brussel sprouts + her fav. was the Wellington. She also enjoyed the mushroom escargot. As a vegetarian she said that all the food was unique, so she enjoyed it immensely. I had a beautiful steak that was cooked perfectly. The asparagus was okay, not anything really unique but cooked well. So will I be back? Yes! Bc a steak place with a large vegan section is a rarity. Plus it was a great value for the vegetarian options. But as a steak place, it's overpriced. It's good but I've had better! Next time I'll try the non-steak option. So far my fav. place for pricey steak is Del Frisco, the mashed potatoes, and pineapple cake are what dreams are made of.

Yelp
Kres Chophouse continues to be the standard for me in Orlando. There are many good steakhouses but the most consistent and probably better priced than others is Kres! Their Snake River Wagyu Carpaccio is amazing! I could go there and just order 4 of those and be happy! The dressing they use on it compliments it amazingly! I love that they don't use honey mustard like a lot of other restaurants. Their Filet Mignon is reasonably priced and as tender and tasteful as you can ask for it. Probably go here a couple times a year and that just doesn't feel like enough!

Yelp
As much as I've enjoyed places downtown, I've never tried out Kres! My husband and I decided on this place for our anniversary dinner and it did not disappoint! It's a classy steakhouse vibe on the inside that already had its Christmas decor up, so that only added to the warm fuzzies! When we were seated the server came over quickly and offered great wine selections! To start off after we ordered our food we enjoyed the bread service with a delicious garlic olive oil For our entrees we ordered the Golden Tilefish, Filet Wellington, and the Shrimp Mac & Cheese. The tilefish was beautifully seasoned and paired with couscous, veggies and a beurre blanc sauce. It came apart with just my fork! The Filet Wellington was so flavorful and mouthwatering! As for the mac, it was a phenomenal side! Highly recommend. Overall we had a beautiful experience and even got to enjoy a delicious crème brûlée for dessert on the house to celebrate our special day! I will for sure be looking forward to coming back and enjoying this place!

Yelp
Surprisingly, this restaurant has a large number of vegan offerings, which are gourmet quality and delicious. There's something for everybody at this restaurant .
