Kricket

"This trendy restaurant started life as a pop-up in a 20-seater shipping container and now has branches in Soho, White City and Brixton. There's not many Indian restaurants like this, that come with a counter, an open kitchen and such a great buzz. The selection of well-priced contemporary dishes are perfect for sharing and made with home-grown ingredients; the Keralan fried chicken is a must." - Michelin Inspector

Kricket Soho Review - Soho - London - The Infatuation

"Once your eyes adjust to the appallingly dim lighting in Kricket’s corridor-like dining room, you’ll spot the stairs past the row of backs sat at the counter. They lead to a spacious basement room where groups huddle around big tables, and whether it's Tuesday or Saturday, dinner at this sharing plates-style, modern Indian spot in Soho is bound to be buzzy. If you’re after a fun date night, the counter seating is a great place to sit side by side while throwing back citrussy pani puri shots. Although it’s cosy up here, it’s a loud place where your conversation won’t be overheard and will only be interrupted by the friendly bar staff leaning over to ask if you’re done with the excellently crispy Keralan fried chicken. To which you should always answer: we’ll have another round please." - Rianne Shlebak

Indian Restaurants in the UK & Ireland

"A wildly popular – now permanent - former pop-up with sister restaurants dotted across London, Kricket splits its menu into meat, fish and veg sections, with all dishes crafted in the sweeping theatre-style kitchen. Counter seating and long tables lend themselves well to dining sharing style, while the bartenders serve up a selective list of funky, Indian-inspired cocktails." - The MICHELIN Guide UK Editorial Team

15 Best Indian Restaurants in London | Condé Nast Traveler

"Kricket is quite stunning, with lighting that glows as if to compliment the warmth of the food, and its patrons are a mix of cool cats, Instagram food hunters, and out-of-towners. Cocktails are done very well, and the wine list offers enough variety to please most palates. The menu is Indian fusion—more artfully designed plates than lamb curries dripping in thick sauce—and will win over even those who don’t usually like Indian food." - Elizabeth Winding, Ramsay Short

Family of four (2 adults and 2 kids). We stopped here for linner and were seated right away. I was worried that with the social media buzz it would be crowded. I’ve never heard of a thali before and am so happy to have tried it here. There was so much food that we were able to share and still feel so full. Everything was so well seasoned and the spice level was perfect. The staff were welcoming and really attentive.

Google
Great restaurant great food and signature cocktails every bite a treat to the senses, the staff was very helpful and knowledgeable all together a great experience. My only comment would be that the bar stalls are fa end to the ground so you have to be of medium build, which i am not especially at this point in a month long food fest from. Paris to italy and then London so that was my only rough part of the experience was that the counter was logged in my abdomen so if you are a big boy or girl don't sit at the bar, other then that it was amazing!

Google
I love discovering new restaurants, and since we were heading to the Criterion Theatre to see Titanique, I searched for a pre-theatre spot near Piccadilly Circus. That’s how I stumbled upon Kricket Soho, described as a “modern Indian restaurant.” We loved the stylish vibe of the place, and I was especially happy we had reserved seats at the counter overlooking the bustling open kitchen—such a great spot to soak in the energy and watch the chefs at work. The menu offered a tempting range of small plates (our favourite way to eat), and it was tough to choose, but we eventually went with: • Tomato Rasam Pani Puri • Keralan Fried Chicken with pickled mooli and curry leaf mayo • Purple Sprouting Broccoli Badami with Kashmiri chilli oil and almond • Duck Leg Seekh Kebab with peanut chutney and rhubarb thecha • Burnt Garlic Tarka Dal • Cucumber & Peanut Raita • Masala Naan Admittedly, it was quite a lot of food—but every single dish delivered. The flavours were vibrant, the textures spot-on, and nothing was overly spicy, though a few dishes had a nice kick. Everything was beautifully presented, and I really enjoyed watching the head chef inspect each plate before it went out. Service was excellent. Kricket Soho is definitely a restaurant I’d return to—flavour-packed, well-executed, and perfect for a night out in the West End. (Also posted to my food blog on Instagram @AbbeyKing16)

Google
I am beyond pleased with my experience at Krickets! My husband and I reserved a table at the bar for lunch and it was such a great memory. There were very few people in there at the time and we felt extra special being able to talk to the chefs and watch them work. They were all super friendly and helpful with helping us to decide what to get and what goes best with what. I got the squash curry and date pistachio kulcha. My husband got a chicken curry and brown butter paratha. His paratha was amazing!! And so was my curry and kulcha! I loved the sweet and savory contrast between the two. It was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend a meal here at the kitchen counter- it is a great experience!

Google
Amazing food here, super easy for me as a celiac as most of the food was GF. We had some delicious orange wine, I would say the star of the show was the samphire bhaji with chilli garlic mayo! Really friendly staff, great vibe. We sat at the counter which really added to the experience!

Google
I visited Kricket in Soho on the 18th of April and left feeling quite underwhelmed. While the atmosphere was vibrant and the space had a trendy, buzzy vibe, the overall dining experience didn’t live up to the hype. We were seated on fixed barstools, which were incredibly uncomfortable. Since they’re nailed to the floor, there’s no room to adjust or reposition them, making it awkward to sit and eat comfortably—especially over a longer meal. The food was decent but nothing particularly memorable. Unfortunately, I had a bad reaction to it afterward, which makes me question the freshness of some of the ingredients. This isn’t something I experience often, so it was disappointing and concerning. In short, Kricket has a great vibe, but the uncomfortable seating and questionable food quality made for a disappointing experience.

Google
We went for dinner here last night had a great experience. The food was amazing especially the Bhel and Fish curry. The service was impeccable. We had a seat at the chef counter so the experience was pretty cool to see food being prepared in front of you. I highly recommend this restaurant. If your watching Moulin Rouge, it's 30 seconds away from the theatre so perfect location. We've been to a Kricket in White City before and by far this Soho branch was so much better! I want to give a special shout out the the manager at this restaurant. He was attentive and very helpful with both drinks and food choices

Google
Stopped in for a quick app and drink! Good vibes and good service! I had the Recheado Butter Prawns and they were fire. The cocktail I had was also delicious. Definitely will come back to try some other dishes.

Yelp
Service, food, atmosphere was fantastic! Thank you Kricket team for an amazing experience.

Yelp
Kricket came very highly recommended to me and I was stoked I could get a single seat at the bar before my play. Unfortunately, I found it to really be just okay. I got the Keralan Fried Chicken on their recommendation and really didn't like it (and I love a fried chicken). I ended up gifting it to the strangers sitting next to me left, under the guise that I was going to the theater and couldn't bring it with me. The grilled day boat squid and the wild garlic kulcha had overpowering flavors.. which I didn't love. And trust me, I am someone who loves all the flavors and eats all the things. Something was just off here.. and I really wanted to like it. Definitely not bad, but really just okay.

Yelp
Very tasty experience in a cosy setting. Every dish was a treat for your taste buds (the fried chicken definitely being a highlight - try dunking it in the vegetarian take on 'butter chicken'). Only caveat is you'll be kicked out at 11pm (like at many places in London), even with a late reservation (ours was at 9:30pm). Experience would've even been better if we weren't seated at a long 'picknick' table right alongside (and in the social bubbles of) other guests.

Yelp
So many people told me to go here and I wondered how could it could actually be so I went on my trip to London. Everyone was correct. The food here was phenomenal. I actually recommend sitting at the top floor high chairs because you can see them making your food and it is very entertaining. Everyone here was extremely kind and they were very attentive to us. The menu has option for vegetarians and everything is rich in flavor. Their chai is very good and they have good beer options as well. Our absolute favorite thing we got was the fish curry. This was my favorite meal we had on our visit to London thanks Kricket!!

Yelp
Excellent ambience and food, slightly unexpected bill. Clearly this is a place of distinction but keep in mind that your bill will have an additional 35% added to it after they add in a 15% discretionary charge and a 20% extra charge. The vibe of this place is great. Subtle interior design, wonderful lighting, and great music. Kricket definitely makes a good impression.! Food is mostly good. Fried chicken dish was cooked perfectly and a bit of interesting spice to it. Brown buttered naan was quite lovely. The daal dish was a bit strange and almost tasted gamey so we didn't have much of that. Cocktails were pleasant and subtle - just what was needed at about 4pm. The ridiculous charges at the end of the meal were eye popping. I've never seen an upcharge on the meal in my entire life, and that includes many, many fine dining institutions and places of distinction. It wasn't good enough to warrant that.

Yelp
Our favorite place we dined in! They were able to accommodate 16 of us and our waiter was insanely kind/patient with our large group. He took the time to help us make the right decision with food recs and took our different dietary restrictions into consideration. There are also foods on the menu that are halal friendly. We decided to go with "A Taste Of Kricket" to make it easy for a family style brunch. Our standout foods were: pistachio kulcha, grilled butternut squash, goan sausage croquette, and dark chocolate dessert. I would come back just for the kulcha and squash! The cocktails were also very delicious. I ordered an espresso martini which was perfectly balanced with coffee and liquor. The North Of The River cocktail was my favorite on the menu.

Yelp
Not impressed. I had pretty high expectations of this place. The appetizer was fine, but I had the chickpea small dish and the grilled lamb, both of which were meh. And their naan is also meh.

Yelp
Came here last night. I don't understand why this restaurant is so highly rated. The food is awful and the place is noisy, basic and chaotic. We received at least three things we didn't order and we were missing a couple of dishes that we did. I felt we were encouraged to over-order, so I did try quite a few things on their very limited menu.staff were nice but clearly harassed by the sheer number of customers and extreme tightness of space at the communal banquettes downstairs. Snacks: Mirchi vada - the best thing on the menu. Light and spicy. Gave me misplaced hope Butter chicken kofta - also good, the snacks were the only good things on the menu. Small plates Samphire pakoras- tasteless. Avoid Chana masala- chick peas with hummus. Really weird. Did not work Lamb ribs - basically lamb fat, disgusting Larger Mutton curry- ok but very ordinary and bland Smoked pork belly - inedible as way too salty Dahl- utterly tasteless Sides Naan - ok but they initially have us some bread with green sludge all over it. Don't know what is was but it was soggy and horrible Meera pulao - ok Broccoli - possibly the worst thing we ate, but it's hard to choose. It was absolutely drowned in a 'walnut chutney' which was like an overpowering blue cheese sauce. Completely inedible Desserts Bhappa doi- a mishmash of all kinds of things which did not go together and tasted revolting Mango and lime kulfi- not frozen. Much too sweet. Obviously I am not returning. Definitely does not merit the high prices.

Yelp
So delicious and my husband is gluten free. When we first sat down, the helpful staff asked if there weee any food allergies, and she was completely helpful for him...ensuring he had an amazing meal while still staying well. I can't rave enough about this place with the devour, food and staff. Simply amazing!!!! We're lucky to have found it!

Yelp
Snagged a last minute 8:30 table and was welcomed with great customer service. Water was constantly coming. Servers were beyond knowledgeable and helpful. Perfect balance of attentive without feeling like they're kicking you out. Started with Bhel Puri, an interesting rice dish. The fried chicken was super bland which is why I couldn't give a 5* rating. Tenderstem Broccoli was a great surprise with an awesome sauce. Great texture since everything else was heavy. The grilled lamb was a bit tough, but the sauce was a yummy balsamic which was perfect for the roti. On the flip side, the fish curry was cooked to perfection. Skip the dal. Very boring. We didn't even make it through half.

Yelp
First time at Kricket and I can definitely see why it got a Michelin Bib Gourmet, this place is amazing! Made a reservation far in advance, but I don't think that's 100% necessary as there seemed to still be a ton of seats for walk ins. Was seated quickly in a communal table downstairs. - Brown Butter Lachha Paratha - This is essentially just naan with a tiny bit of brown sugar flavor. To be honest, there's really no need to order the fancy "bread" because the entrees are definitely the star, this is more of a side. I did appreciate the slight char on it though. - Malai Tandoori Paneer - From now on, I will exclusively only eat paneer with honey, what an unexpected but beautiful combination! I really appreciate the char of the paneer with the sweet and salty honey which flavored the entire block of cheese. Also the baby onions weren't overpowering and was actually quite tender. - Keralan Fried Chicken - This was my favorite dish of the night. The breading of the chicken was spectacular as it wasn't super heavy or dense with slight saltiness flavor. Also I thought it went extremely well with the pickled daikon. I loved the curry mayonnaise they made in house which was quite light and balanced out the crunchiness of the chicken. Definitely a must get dish at Kricket. - Pandhi Pork Neck Curry - This is more of your traditional curry. Honestly not anything mind-blowing but it was pretty good especially to counterbalance the other dryer dishes. Overall, very solid restaurant in London that I would most definitely visit again. I was a bit worried that we didn't order enough for 2 people, but this was most definitely enough and it left us stuffed.

Yelp
The most incredible "Indian" cuisine I've ever had. It is a mixture of traditional seasonings with a haute presentation. It's well worth the experience and expense. Everything on the menu is worth trying.

Yelp
excellent food and creativity in the menu. lots of small bite appetizer plates. i sat at the bar and the service was pretty good as well.

Yelp
Fabulous food! Best meal in London. Loved trying so many different things. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Very cozy and buzzy vibes in an unbeatable neighborhood and atmosphere. Hand crafted menu with amazing meat and vegetarian offerings - everything comes out quickly and pairs well together. I have to get the pakoras and pistachio naan every time. The cocktails don't disappoint either. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful but might rush you out to accommodate the next table.

Yelp
A delightful and amazing meal! We were fortunate to have theatre seating at the bar to watch all the magic happen! Chef Will Bowlby of Kricket Soho, offers a creative menu that features exceptional Indian flavors. And just as impressive as the food, the kitchen, bar and hospitality staff are a well oiled machine working together in harmony while keeping one of the cleanest and organized work spaces I have ever seen. We loved everything we ordered. Each of the small plates had a distinctly different flavor profile and we loved ALL of it! It was great talking to the chef and sous chefs during our meal, but watching Executive chef Will put his own final touch on absolutely every dish before it was delivered shows his passion and pride in his wonderful food! Everything is good, but don't miss the fried chicken, hake curry and the yogurt dessert. Bravo!!

Yelp
Recommendations: + Make a reservation it is well worth it. + Ask the server which food is good. + Order a Spiced Masala Chai with Rum (Y-U-M) Honestly every food item we got was superb. Not one plate was bad. The blast of flavor in each dish was so tasty. We ordered about 6 food items for 3 people, the dishes are not large they are small so you should order more than one plate per person. Yes it is pricy, but this trendy food is well worth the price. 5/5 No doubt.

Yelp
This place is an explosion of flavors from the first drink to the last morsel of dessert. We had the pork neck curry, the Lamb chops, the Clams, and the fries chicken. All were very tasty. Highly recommended and worth the stop in London.

Wendy M.

Yelp
Amazing food, amazing service! Highly recommend! Can't wait to go back, the nuts were the best ever

Yelp
Excellent, innovative food, service excellent. Music was too loud for us old folks but we adapted. I

Yelp
Just two American Texans who popped in for a drink and snack on the recommendation from a gentleman from a pub. Hands down some of the best food either of us has ever put into our mouths. We bought the cookbook and are tempted to visit again within our two day trip to try more picky bites! The butternut squash will not disappoint and neither will the beef kabob. Again, best food we have had in the time we can remember!
google avatar

Riley S.

Yelp
We decided to stop in for lunch in the middle of our work week and we were thrilled with the experience. The ambiance is hip and trendy and the service was great. We ordered the black daal, garlic naan, lamb with pomegranate, curried swordfish, brussels sprouts and rice. All of the plates are intended to share so it's great spot to enjoy as a group. The flavors were excellent - we look forward to returning in the future!
google avatar

Yelp
Indian food is to Londoners as Mexican food is to Americans. Londoners know how to do Indian food right. I'm not even sure what it is but it was amazing. The service was speedy and our waiter was super helpful in telling us how to order and what is most popular.
google avatar

Yelp
Beautiful ambience and atmosphere. Great for friends and a day out with girl or friends. Noisy and busy. Now the food. For Soho the price is reasonable.however I woould not come here for the food. I am only talking vege food as thats all we had. The Tadka Daal is sub par ( eating while.commemting). It needed what Indians call Tadka. It tasted like boil.daal with spices thrown in. I did not like it and wish chef had made better effort. I gave it 2/10. Edible but not something I'll recommend. The butternut Makhani squash was good. The butternut squash was I think grilled in the tandoor and then Makhani sauce was added. It was good however the Makhani sauce complemented it rather than be part of it. It was good and I old have it just because it is a healthier meal. Nothing to scream about. I gave it a 6/10 The garlic coriander Naan is good. YOU must order a Naan or rice or you would get just the sauces for dinner. It is not part of meal. I know for sure that Indian meals have to be had with either Naan read or rice and it boggles my mind when it is not part of a meal. Wish they would just charge a bit more for it and include in meal. However it is what it is. I watched some Caucasians and Black's having the meals without Naan or rice eating them as if they were a dish to be eaten on their own. The wait staff do recommend that you order rice or Naan but!!!! Don't think it's a place I'll.come back to. Good luck

Yelp
Yet another fusion Indian restaurant with non-Indian owners. Seems to be a trend these days around the World. Nevertheless, no complaints about the food here. You enter this small cozy joint and you will be greeted with an aroma of Indian spices and dishes. All dishes are made to order, so you can actually feel the freshness in smell and taste. Of course the dishes are toned down to cater to the spice levels of tourists and Londonites, still they are pretty tasty. We tried the bhej puri, Kerala spiced fried chicken, dal and masala kulcha bread. Each item had good depth of flavor. Kudos to the team! The drinks were a little underwhelming, hence the drop in a star on the review.
google avatar

Hazem M.

Yelp
This is an Indian fusion restaurant owned by a couple of brits. The chef is an Indian who used to work at a famous hotel in Bombay. It is certainly not your usual Indian fair so if you feel adventurous, this may be a place for you. The ambiance is quite hip and modern, an upbeat vibe if you will. The food contains items not usually part of Indian cuisine such as beef and pork, nonetheless they are cooked with clear Indian influences. Even though this is an Indian fusion restaurant, the food was not lacking In spice or quantity. The portions were decent. The dal was tasty, and the beef kebab was also quite delicious. I would have loved to see more sauce, however. The menu could also use some enhancements and additions. All in all, I enjoyed my dinner!
google avatar

Yelp
Good food, great atmosphere and fast service. The Indian food is delicious and different than anything I've tasted before.

Craig M.

Yelp
Amazing flavors! Awesome staff, very friendly and accommodating. The place is small but intimate. I felt like I was visiting the chef in a special place, not just ordering, eating and leaving. Definitely try this place if you like a modern twist.

Yelp
Mumbai-focused flavours with a modern London feel. This is a 2-story establishment with 2 large bars and shared seating arrangements. There's a large selection of tapas (and plenty of vegetarian options), as well as a great drink and wine menu. If you're in a group of 4, I'd suggest ordering maybe 6-8 tapas depending on how hungry you are. The prices are a bit high for the portions, but also I had THE BEST fried chicken I've had since living in southern US, so I'm a bit torn. In addition to the fried chicken, we ordered the cultured butter bread (meh - order a different naan instead), bhel puri (YUM), butternut squash (decent), lamb neck (very good), and a few other dishes. Everything was delicious, but I'd suggest the fried chicken and bhel puri above everything. The service here lacked greatly, and the noise was a bit much, but the food made the meal drastically better. I'd recommend coming here on a date or in a pair, but not for larger parties since it gets too loud.

Karen B.

Yelp
Fantastic flavors... from the drinks options to the food menu... as a party of four we sampled options from each section. Our server had great recommendations! The garlic naan, vegetarian options, fried chicken, beef and fish were all amazing! Loved the coriander side. Thought we were too full, but the pear abs chocolate was a perfect ending to a memorable meal! Will return when we're back in London!

Miles L.

Yelp
This place slaps. I love Indian food and have tried a lot of London's options, and I really loved Kricket's concept. It's not a traditional sit down Indian spot, but more-like Indian spices and flavors meets a Spanish tapas bar vibe. Really cool spot, highly recommend if you're looking for an Indian experience that's a bit less traditional but very tasty and lively.
google avatar

Yelp
New Indian restaurant near Piccadilly Circus. It has mainly counter seats with open kitchen with a few booth / tables. It is very modern and pleasant space. Great for informal dinning. The menu is very small and they are Indian inspired small dishes. I tried a few dishes and one kulcha. They were all very edible but must say nothing was that striking and memorable. Also I could not get good harmony between dishes... I left not full but just felt I was done eating there.. As it is just open, hopefully the menu will evolve to become better and more refined.
google avatar

Karishma P.

Yelp
Kricket is an innovative restaurant in that it tries to serve Indian food in a tapas style. The dishes are Indian with a bit of a twist to them. They keep changing their menu, so I'm not sure if you will find the same food that we did. Seating is mostly along their room length bar with a couple of tables on the side. They also have more seating space downstairs. However, as all the cooking takes place behind the bar, I'd recommend getting a seat there if possible. We had a lecture to get to, so while the cocktails looked excellent, we stuck to the mocktails. I loved the tamarind drink, it wasn't too sweet and the tango was worked as a good refreshing palate cleanser between dishes. The bhelpuri arrived first. Different from any I've before(across the length and breadth of india) but tasty. The scallops with Goan sausage were good, but I've had much better (Fatty bao in Bangalore do an amazing job of this combination) The beef telengana pickle was tasty, but a bit chewier than I expected. (Not tough, just slightly chewy - most Indian protein pickles end up with super soft meat/fish/prawns) The fried chicken was the star. Beautiful flavours and textures. The mussels were very good and the kulchas were a great accompaniment to mop up the masala. The shahi tukda was unlike any others I've eaten before. It was a cross between a shahi tukda, a brioche French toast and bread & butter pudding, if that makes any sense. The only warning I would give is that portion sizes on each item differ greatly. The mussels and chicken portions were huge compared to some of the other dishes. So just be aware when ordering. Service is very fast, so you can order in waves.

Yelp
One of our favorite places to visit in london! Every dish is so creative and yummy. The cocktails were also really good. Definitely a must go for Indian food lovers!!

Kate H.

Yelp
My daughter and I ate there while I was visiting London. That evening after we left the restaurant we were violently sick and it lasted two days. Unfortunate for me since I was only there for five days. Seems like good food but the after effects and consequences can be a killer. It ruined my holiday
google avatar

Caitlin W.

Yelp
My husband and I tried Kricket for lunch on a recent trip to London. We spit about 5 dishes between the two of us-- the mussels, the garlic and coriander bread, and pakoras were some of our favorite dishes. Excellent ambiance and great beer/wine pairings to go with the food.

Niki L.

Yelp
First time at Kricket. Just in London visiting. Was looking for Indian fare and found Kricket on Yelp. When we got here I was expecting traditional Indian food but Kricket is more of a fusion style Indian food. We let our waiter, Antonio, select the dishes for us and he did not disappoint. The five dishes he selected were an unbelievable mix of flavors that took my breath away. So so good. I've never been to a restaurant that left me speechless, but Kricket absolutely did. If you haven't tried it I highly recommend it and if I'm ever back in London this will be my first stop. Thanks to Antonio and the entire staff for not only wonderful food but an amazing experience.
google avatar

Sharjil K.

Yelp
I am really not sold on this place - its way overpriced and clearly marketed to those who don't really know true and good indian food. They are trying to do Indian street food - and clearly trying way too hard to be hip and cool. It's a place filled with contradiction matched with slow service - one to avoid. The chaat wasn't bad though.

Yelp
The best twist on a Sunday roast I've ever eaten! I booked a surprise reservation at Kricket's Brixton location for my boyfriend's birthday, and it was the perfect place to go. Firstly, I requested that I'd like our server to wish my bf a Happy Birthday upon entering the restaurant, just for a special touch. Not only did our server wish him a Happy Birthday, but so did every other staff member we encountered! We were shocked and happy (though I think my bf was a little embarrassed... oops!), and it made our experience really special and personalized. They didn't have to go the extra mile, but they did, and it was wonderful. After entering the restaurant, we were led to the main dining room, an open space with huge windows overlooking the street. We could even hear the rumble of the trains from Brixton station. I liked the light and airy atmosphere. We ate lunch on a Sunday afternoon, and I cannot recommend it more. After we each sipped our Bloody Maharaja and a Mango Lassi, our waitress explained that the menu rotates each weekend, and revealed that we arrived on her favorite day--the highlight of the menu was a lamb roast. The roast was huge, and after a few delicious starters (my favorite was the steak tartare), we actually couldn't finish it. The lamb was tender and its savory flavor paired well with sweet ingredients like pomegranate. We left stuffed, happy, and satisfied with our choice. Well worth the price.

Yelp
Wow. Just wow. This is in no way traditional Indian food -- head to Brick Lane if that's what you're after. But if you're after inventive, surprising takes on Indian Fare look no further than Kricket. It's a bustling little restaurant with communal tables and a homey feel, so if you're looking for a quiet, private place for a date this is certainly not it. I went with a big group and was able to try most of the menu. Might as well start with the highlights, eh? The lamb rib was PHENOMENAL. Fall off the bone tender with a bright mint sauce. Not to be missed. The raw salmon was an unexpected take on a tartare, with a surprising pop of mustard. The bhel puri is spicy and fresh, with a little crunch, and the saphire pakoras have a wonderful tamarind zing, brought to life further by a creamy mayonnaise. The hake was the closest thing we had to a curry, and although I was suspicious of fish curry, it was light and delicious. The date kulcha bread was an indulgent treat. The only things I would advise against are the crab and brown butter kulcha bread and the butter garlic crab. Neither tasted fresh, and were just overwhelmingly crabby. Everything else was so great, though, that nobody really minded.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! Loved the duck! Chicken was special! Mukta, our hostess, made some pretty wonderful suggestions. Great find!

Yelp
Yum! A great spin on Indian food with a selection of delicious tapas-style plates. As a pescatarian, there were plenty of dishes to share amongst 3 of us. Kricket also had a nice selection of wines as well as a "spiced chai with rum" glass of deliciousness. They don't take reservations for small groups, so walk in early if you can as the queue does grow around 6:30pm. I recommend the pumpkin dish while it's in season and the monkfish!

Yelp
A really accessible dining experience. Went with a group of 6 so we were able to sample most of the dishes on the menu. Surprisingly, the vegetarian dishes outshine the meat options (except the fried chicken). The bread didn't wow me -- not quite fluffy or hot enough.

Yelp
My first Indian meal in London. It was delicious. My friend and I sat at the bar and took the recommendations from our waiter. I would highly recommend it!

Yelp
Mixed feelings! Food was either pretty good or really good... service was really bad, vibe is nice, people friendly, cocktails I wouldn't risk after seeing the guys behind the bar. Prices were good however. My gut tells me it will go downhill and not last... let's see. They definitely need better staff at minimum. But like I said food was good (not epic)... so torn!

Yelp
Crazy freaking good. Prices are really modest for the quality. I will be back every time I am in London.

Yelp
We were looking for a hip, non touristy spot for dinner and we found it. The staff were all super friendly and accommodative. Highly recommend the fried chicken and the hake plate and the pudding desert. The restaurant is also in a great location for after din er drinks.
