"Krimsey’s Cajun Kitchen first opened in 2017, with a completely vegan Cajun menu that includes hushpuppies, gumbo, jambalaya, and etoufée without a single drop of animal products. Owner and former petroleum engineer Krimsey Ramsey will expand to Silver Lake in a former Subway shop, according to Eastsider. Krimsey’s will land in a unique section of Silver Lake, where few sit down restaurants exist on a very busy strip of Glendale Boulevard near Fletcher Drive. The opening timeline is unknown, but the timing is perfect to pick-up a vegan Mardi Gras king cake from her North Hollywood location." - Mona Holmes

An absolute gem. A modest menu offering exceptional vegan Cajun food in a perfectly curated setting. The atmosphere is fun and welcoming as are the friendly and cheerful staff. There's enough on the menu that everyone can find something for their palate but not so much that you can't try everything at some point. Very flavorful takes on classic Cajun, with that signature kick one comes to expect, when they're looking for spicy food with soul.

Will likely go back. I'm not vegan but a good friend is so we always pick a vegan place to make it easier for her. The interior is homey and comfortable. There was a live band playing which created a light, fun atmosphere. The people there were very friendly and it was clean. Parking sucks but that area in general is that way. The cajun wedges were bomb, at every single one. The chicory coffee was flavorful. The brownie beignet was disappointing; I was Excited to have it with my coffee, but it was dry and a little hard to eat, kept getting stuck to the roof. Maybe I just don't like vegan brownies? It seems like it was made well not under cooked or anything, even a little dry. Otherwise it was a pleasant experience and I like the place

I have always wanted to try Cajun cuisine but I could never find any vegan dishes, until I came here. The whole restaurant is vegan and I must say, the food is absolutely delicious! My husband and I truly enjoyed the po'boys, the jambalaya, and the hush puppies. They even have beignets, which I was unfortunately too full to try. Maybe next time!

I have no words. None. KRISMEYS OWES ME NOTHING. Not one thing. I was completely encapsulated by all the cajun flavor put into this vegan food. Wow. Just... wow!!! I had the collard greens with coconut bacon. The smoky flavor with a little tang and a little heat reminded me of my grandmothers. The SWAMP QUEEN poboy and the banana ls fosters bread pudding. All to die for. I shouldve got 1 of everything. BRAVO!

I'm really glad that a place like Krimsey's Cajun exists - vegan Cajun restaurant, who would have thought? Not my visiting friend from Chicago; he wants to return here on a future visit! The food is fantastic - great flavor, many options, good portion sizes. The spot itself isn't huge but I've never seen it too full, and the parking lot outside is tiny but street parking is available. On my last visit, for 3 of us, we got hush puppies, fried pickles, the Gumbalaya with cornbread, and two different kinds of poboys, the New Orleans (with hearts of palm) and the fried green tomato - one of those with a side of Cajun potato wedges and the other with chips. It was quite a delicious feast! The only downsides to our visit were, 1- they didn't have any biscuits & gravy left (we were there around 2pm, brunch menu is available until 3pm.. hence why we ended up with 2 Poboys which were still good, but really craved some biscuits & gravy), and 2- after we were done with our meal and wanted to get the Voodoo Brownie Beignet, we were told it would be another 30ish minutes for those to be made (we were on a schedule and didn't have the opportunity to wait longer.. I had them before but really wanted my visitor to try; next time, I guess!). Aside from those 2 hiccups, we enjoyed our food and the atmosphere. I even ended up buying a bottle of their homemade Cajun ranch! Recommend: hush puppies, fried pickles, Gumbalaya bowl, Jambalaya bowl, cornbread, New Orleans Poboy, Voodoo Brownie Beignet Things to note: - the parking lot is small and tight, you're better off parking on the street or surrounding neighborhood - free wifi! - they sell a number of items ranging from clothing to bottles of their Cajun ranch or Cajun spices - order dessert with your meal just in case there is a wait time

I had their vegan sausage po boy sandwich. It was very tasty! I know that vegan restaurants tend to be more expensive than regular restaurants, but this place wasn't too bad in that regard. Though I do think a dollar or two less or the same which would have been more appropriate. still at least it tasted really good, and everyone that work there was very nice.
