Krug's Tavern

My husband and I LOVE Krugs Tavern. It has become our go to sports bar and favorite location for after work libations. Come as you are. This is a welcoming no-frills bar. We love it. We have probably ordered everything from their menu and can’t complain about a single item. We recommend the employee sauce (secret sauce) on either their wings or shrimp. The underrated item on their menu is their pickle. It is seriously crunchy and delicious. Their burgers are delicious but very filling. My warning to large tables is that the kitchen cooks to order, so expect items to come out at different times. Free Parking is in the rear (not side) of the building (turn on Napoleon Street).

Stopped in with my family for a Devils pregame burger and as usual, this place doesn't disappoint. Large burger for a good price, served quickly with a smile. Hit the spot and assuaged the ensuing mental anguish dealing with eating at a pro-sports venue. Well done, Krug's, on all counts!

Hands down one of the juiciest and tastiest burger joints in Newark! Go during mid-day on a random weekday. The wait for your food is a bit long if you're impatient but it's worth the wait. There is on-site parking, limited but available and you watch the burgers being cooked right next to the bar. So good! This was my second time and I'm a happy camper.

The food was pretty good, the fries are stake fries, which aren’t my favorite but they were crunchy and well cooked. I had the bacon cheeseburger (well done) and it was cooked correctly and had the perfect amount of crispy bacon. The boneless wings were good as well, but I would recommend eating them with ranch or blue cheese. The music they played was also pretty good. However, the person I dined with had the bacon cheeseburger as well, but they had it cooked medium and they said it was bad. Also, our server kind of disappeared towards the end of our meal.

Good food and drinks, friendly service, and welcoming atmosphere We were told that we had to go to Krug’s for the best burger. We went with the bacon cheeseburger and the burger with pastrami, with a side of onion rings to share. Since the menu said it takes half an hour to make a burger, we got chicken fingers and French fries to start. Chicken fingers & French fries: good, nothing extra special. The fries were steak fries and not the best. Came with a honey mustard sauce that was heavy on the mustard. Bacon cheeseburger (medium): so good. Not the best I’ve ever had, but thick and juicy and perfectly cooked. A ton of bacon, which is never bad. Burger with pastrami: the pastrami was fried, I think? It was almost like bacon, and it was great. It’s a really unique burger and delicious. Onion rings: we ordered them because of a review that said they were the best someone had ever had. They were…good. You could bite and not have the whole onion pull out, but you had to bite down hard. Peanut butter old fashioned: delicious. Wonderful. Magical. They didn’t have cherries, but it didn’t matter. It was the exact perfect amount of liquor to make everything about the day and night better. Service: everyone was busy but also Incredibly nice and helpful. They weren’t necessarily around when you needed them, but if you asked for something, they were always happy to help. Atmosphere: it seems like a neighborhood institutions kind of place, and if I lived nearby, I would want to hang out here all the time to make friendly with the regulars and listen to the 90s music.

Got to say, their wings are the best. Ask for their secret sauce, the wings are delicious. Ordered the cheese fries, didn’t expect to have a squared yellow cheese on top of the fries and just microwaved. The outline of the squared sliced cheese was honestly a big let down. Didn’t taste good at that. Also, ordered their sweet potato fries, another let down. As far as their burgers, what they’re most known for, they were okay. The burger didn’t really taste like much. Barely any salt on it. Wings were perfect! Everything else was mid.

Voted one of the best burgers in NJ few years ago. Simple but yet delicious. Had the cheeseburger and wings. The burger was cooked to perfection and juicy. Wings crispy and covered in a tangy spicy sauce. Lick your fingers good.

Easily the BEST BURGER in the tri-state area. BACON BLUE CHEESE BURGER is SATISFYING and OVERWHELMINGLY DELICIOUS. A 12 oz Burger hand made fresh. It takes approximately 20 min to cook this gigantic burger to perfection. Enjoy the signature complimentary sliced PICKLE and CHERRY PEPPERS While you're waiting, get an order of ONION RINGS or CALAMARI, both of which are hand-made and fresh. Their prices are very reasonable, I'd even boast cheap compared to the competition. Local establishment since 1934!
