The 8 Best Thai Restaurants in Broward County, Florida | Eater Miami

"Ramen, sushi, and Asian street food abound at this contemporary 17th Street gem. But, Kubo’s interpretation of khao soi is the must, drenched in a thick yellow curry, red onions, green sour mustard, and more. It’s large enough to share... if you’re not naturally inclined to eat every drop of it. There’s now a Coral Springs outpost, too."

The Best Sushi Restaurants in Broward County and Fort Lauderdale | Eater Miami

"It can be hard to stray from KUBO’s fan favorite, kao soi ramen, an ultra-creamy take on the Northern Thai favorite layered with pickled vegetables and zesty red onion. However, its sushi menu is worth the adventure, with larger platters — some designed for groups of 10 — arriving on flashy boat-shaped dishes."

This place is such a vibe. So many anime trinkets but the food here is really the star of the show starting with the Soft Shell Crab baos. Prosthetic best one I’ve had. We also got some lumpia and satays and of course cocktails which were fabulous. Also get one of their noodle dishes. I forgot what my friend ordered but it super tasty and a little spicy. This place is very popular and it’s been around for a long time. Good food and amazing service plus there’s plenty of parking.

Google
Kubo was highly recommended by two crew mates. Since I was in the area for training for a couple days I decided to see what the hype was about. The food, atmosphere, and service were so great I ended up having 3 meals there in 2 days. Thursday night wasn’t a full house so I decided to study while enjoying dinner and wasn’t rushed out by the staff. Friday night was very busy and I still received excellent service. I strongly recommend Kubo and trying something new each time. They are definitely at the top of my lunch and dinner option lists.

Google
We had a great dinner at Kubo! The food portions are big, service is fast, and everything is flavorful. My top picks were the sizzling pork ear—crispy and full of flavor—and the crispy duck, with perfectly crunchy skin and tender meat inside. The atmosphere is lively and casual, with fun comic/manga elements in the décor that make the space unique and memorable. Staff were friendly and helpful even during a busy dinner rush. Overall, it’s a fun place to enjoy Asian fusion dishes with family and friends. We’ll definitely be back!

Google
What a gem. Before we even sat down Angela the bartender greeted us w a smile. She made us some amazing cocktails and suggested a bunch of great things to eat. She also sang karaoke. The place is cool and chill. Very fun and well worth checking out. We will def go back.

Google
The service was excellent. The food was tasty and well plated. The only thing missing was a unique atmosphere. It was just okay. Not bad or not good. If Kubo put in place, some simple changes into improving their ambiance only... I could see i solid 4 stars for casual dining.

Google
It was past 10 o'clock that night and there were still many customers in the restaurant. We waited for 10 minutes before someone arranged for us to take our order. Ordered two bowls of Japanese ramen The soup base is particularly rich. I personally feel that the amount of seasoning used is too much. Service attitude is relatively lazy No expected satisfaction But still charge 18% tip I feel like I won't go there again next time.

Google
In Fort Lauderdale for training my Uber driver recommended Kubo (he is one of the Chefs). My food was delicious. No wait for seating, spring rolls were fresh and hot and the Pancit had healthy pieces of chicken. I was stuffed. Definitely recommend.

Google
Food is delicious (I was sad when they closed their Coral Springs location) but their food is always so good. Service was friendly but could have been a bit more attentive. The atmosphere is casual and they place dance music (at least on weekends) which makes for a trendy vibe.

Yelp
Came here for a quick bite after a flight and it was good. Food was fresh and service was quick, atmosphere is really hip and very ANIME! They have beer on draft - try Kubo in draft pretty good. Had dumplins and a few sushi rolls. Need to come back but overall good experience. Thx

Yelp
I ordered takeout last night of four items. Menufy connection to the restaurant was 45 min after I placed my online order. Restaurant did not have my order ready nor did they have my order. However they quickly prepared my order. The food was nice and hot but my order lacked flavor and they forgot the spicy Mayo that was asked for at the restaurant several times. The restaurant was sold back in March 20/5 to new owners I found out and sorry new owners but service and food is not what Kubo used to be! We noticed food quality was not as good and service was the same a few months ago but didn't realize there were new owners then. Not interested in going back.

Yelp
Kubo was great! My friends and I really enjoyed our visit. I had the ramen, and the pork broth was rich, flavorful, and delicious , definitely one of the highlights. The sushi rolls were amazing too, and the New York roll surprised us the most with how flavorful and balanced it was in every bite. We all got boba and that was a hit as well. Overall, awesome spot with great food and a fun vibe. We'll definitely be back! Only thing I disliked our food didn't come out at the same time , my friends were waiting for all of our food to come out so we can eat together. I think after my friends got their food it was another 10 minutes before my ramen arrived. Other than that everything else was great !

Yelp
This was my choice for my post bodybuilding show meal, and it was a great choice! Not just healthy but extremely tasteful and a great experience! I'm a huge anime fan and their photos, paintings, and designs were so cool and enjoyable to look at, always was something that had me saying "Wo look at that one!" Our waitress was very kind and helpful and checked on us many times. We had a party of 10 people and food was still quick to come out. Can't wait to come back again for some more top notch ramen and sushi!

Yelp
Great sushi, but when I come to Kubo I get 1 dish religiously- their beef khao soi. OH MY GOD! The beef tastes marinaded and tender, the broth is so flavorful. Cannot recommend more!
google avatar

Melvika S.

Yelp
I came to Kubo with a group for 4, and we were seated and tended too right away, there was no wait time at all. The staff here were very friendly and attentive throughout our visit. We all ordered ramen, and they were all equally delicious, flavorful and well prepared. The menu has a wide selection of items to choose: from rice and noodle dishes, sushi, soups, kids times and snack items. You'll definitely find something to enjoy. The restaurant was clean and tidy, and it has a claiming atmosphere, considering it was in the middle of the day, so the rush was not as bad. This is a defiantly a spot we will be returning too for excellent ramen!

Yelp
Love KUBO. Food is always good and everyone here is so nice. We have ordered take-out from here as well and the quality is always good. My most recent order was the spicy tuna poke bowl and it was delicious and filling. I hope to return soon for their delicious desserts.
google avatar

Yelp
They still haven't changed the outside facia sign from Kubo to S.E.A. Asian Bistro. We ordered from the regular menu. After ordering we discovered a Happy Hour "Manu" that was turned away from us ( conveniently facing the wall). It would have been nice to know about this before ordering.

Yelp
I come here often and it never disappoints. My fave dish is Salmon curry, the perfect blend of spicy sweet and savory. The jasmine rice is so perfectly fluffy, the salmon is cooked to perfection and the curry sauce stays on my brain. I also love the spicy edamame and the dragon roll. And the dumpling. I like it all! I'm so happy I have left overs.

Yelp
Kubo Asian Bistro off 17th Street will always have a special place in my heart because it was the very first sushi restaurant I fell in love with when I moved to Fort Lauderdale. Years later, I still make it a point to come back whenever I can, and I never leave without ordering the sushi boat. The ambiance is amazing cozy but lively and the staff couldn't be friendlier. The bartender even used to be on a TV show, so you already know the cocktails are elite and one of a kind haha! The sushi boat is always made with so much care, and you can tell by the presentation. It's not only delicious but also so beautiful and aesthetic, perfect for pictures and videos. Check out my video and definitely stop by Kubo next time you're in the area. Trust me, you'll love it!

Yelp
Partner and I stopped by KUBO to fill his passion for sushi. We were warmly greeted at the door and given a window table overlooking the parking lot, The interior decor of KUBO is eye pleasing enough and the general layout is nice. First, we had a couple cocktails and reviewed the menu which contained an. abundance of choices. I chose the Spicy Girl Roll....you might know...LOL...made up of spicy tuna, salmon, avocado, cream cheese, tempura flake, scallion I/O topped with Kani salsa, masago, sesame seed, wasabi mayo and kimchi sauce. Partner had a King of the Sea roll with Uni, masago, scallion and a special chef sauce that remains a mystery. We were both pleased with service and our meals, though not exceptional.

Yelp
Service: first of all the service here was amazing very fast and very kind service. Our waiter was very generous and gave us our food quickly as well as the check. The atmosphere in this restaurant is amazing. I love all the decorations around the restaurant in honor of Asian culture such as the cherry tree and the bathroom with all anime comic strips. It is a really cool restaurant design. I love it. Food: I got the spicy tuna sushi rolls as well as the avocado rolls. They were very delicious especially the avocado ones with a little bit of wasabi and soy sauce. It was a delicious delight. I also got the miso soup as an appetizer. It was very warm and tasty. Good way to start off the meal. It was very hot so just be careful. you don't wanna burn yourself. I really loved my meal. I have no complaints whatsoever and so that is why my rating is so high perfect food delicious savored every bite. My mother got the bento box. There's a lot of different options. She ordered a second option that came with sushi and sashimi she loved it. It comes with a seaweed salad and a miso soup as an option for an appetizer included. It was great overall sounds like we had a great time. I recommend this place Because of the atmosphere food and service. Cheers!

Yelp
After spending some time in South Florida, I was craving some Filipino food. I found this place on Yelp and decided to give this place a try. Coincidentally, this was also really close to our hotel, so it worked out. We arrived for happy hour, so we were able to order a handful of items. The items included the following: + lumpia + Thai dumplings + Korean chili wings We also ordered a few items that were not on the menu + sisig + bao bun + ube basque cheesecake The items were pretty good. My favorite was the bao bun, but my husband really liked the wings. I was really looking forward to the basque ube cheesecake and the sisig, but unfortunately they were just okay. Overall a pretty good place for Asian fusion, especially if you're looking for Japanese, Thai, or Filipino cuisine.
google avatar

Yelp
We came back and the food was so good again. The service was great as well. I will keep coming back. The lumpia's are amazing.
google avatar

Katia P.

Yelp
Oh yeah. Deliciousness and super friendly service. My husband and I sat at the bar and were served quickly. Bartender was so nice and attentive. We ordered a lot of different things and they were all delicious. Drink, ramen, and sushi plus a nice club vibe with music to keep you jammin. My favorite was the crispy rice tuna. The ramen is curry based so creamy sauce. Place was fun and we would definitely come again.
google avatar

Yelp
Food was ok. Love all the anime decors. The yaki udon was wayyy too sweet. The rolls were ok. Seems fresh. The tako yaki was meh and so was the calamari. Over all, it was ok. Service was a bit slow. Appetizers came out later than it should. Oh don't get the bubble tea, the tapioca was old, def wasn't made fresh daily.

Yelp
This is our first time at KUBO. The staffs are friendly and welcoming. Restaurant's decorations are very unique. We didn't expect anything but it was very tasty and flavorful. We will definitely go back soon.
google avatar

Yelp
I love Kubo's happy hour, it's so worth for the appetizers. And they're pretty filling! The lumpia was kinda standard, but standard lumpia is still pretty delicious. Especially when it comes out piping hot and with lots of sauce to dip into. The orange pork ribs were really good too. The meat was practically falling off the bone and the sweet stickiness of the sauce was addicting. The sashimi tasted pretty fresh and the presentation was beautiful. And the ramen was pretty good too!
google avatar

Yelp
This is a great restaurant and it looks cool inside. Food is really good here. Service is always good and they are nice

Yelp
We had been to a musical nearby and searched in Yelp for a highly rated restaurant that would open late. We decided to visit Kubo on a Sunday night at around 10:00 pm. We were so pleasantly surprised when we walked in, the entire restaurant felt so welcoming and inviting. There was lovely music playing at just the right volume. Every patron seemed to be engaged in fun conversations while enjoying their food. We were promptly seated in a booth and our waiter came a few moments later. The service that we received was so beautiful by our waiter, he was on top of every detail needed to make our meal enjoyable. I ordered the beef bulgogi which came sizzling, it was accompanied by lettuce and rice. I ate them as lettuce wraps and absolutely loved the flavor and texture of the meat. My husband had the Tom Kha Gai and he loved the flavor, he also had the Kobu fried rice and loved it! We will certainly go back when we are in the area.
google avatar

Yelp
Have bookmarked the Coral Springs location for a while and when we happened to be in the Fort Lauderdale area, I Yelped which restaurants were highly-rated and recommended and Kubo was one of the options. Quick and friendly service. They have a huge menu with their take on popular dishes from Japan, Thailand, Korea, China and the Philippines. For our visit on the evening of 12/22, we ended up going with all Filipino food: Pork Sinigang, Sisig and Chicken Adobo. Generous portions and tasty. Not authentic as what I am used to but it was pretty good. I understand the Chef has to accommodate American palates to appeal to a larger audience.
google avatar

Thiago C.

Yelp
I started liking Thai food because of Kubo. I thought I never really like it until I had their food. Been here a few times and every time I had a great time with good food. The restaurante ambience and decor is fun and clean. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Everything from drinks, appetizers, main entree and deserts is good. The Thai dumplings are really good, the pad thai and fried rice are great and the portions are really big. The specialty drinks are yummy too. Definitely recommend and can't wait to go back and try some of their other dishes.
google avatar

Julia D.

Yelp
I haven't had sushi this well prepped and delicious in a while. Each piece of sashimi was large and fresh. Same with each piece of nigiri, and they all just melt in your mouth. The boat was so pretty, with the mini cherry blossom tree and color changing lights. Great menu item to share with friends/family. The halo halo was the sweet cherry on top. It was authentic, pretty, delicious, and a huge portion size. It included all of the essential ingredients along with some extra ones that I was pleasantly surprised to have mixed in. The inside of the restaurant is dark and gives off an elegant yet casual vibe. All of the employees greet with a smile and are quick to get you whatever you may need.

Yelp
This restaurant, which features a variety of Asian food, came highly rated on Yelp, so I wanted to try it. It's decorated with an Asian pop culture flair. On the day we went, we were in the mood for Filipino food. So we had lumpia, pork adobo, and chicken pancit. The lumpia was good. It was nice and crunchy and savory. The pork was tender and flavorful in the adobo but I did not taste any vinegar nor that soy/vinegar flavor that makes a good adobo. I felt like I simply was eating a pork stew. The pancit, too, was just OK with the chicken being a little dry. We decided to have dessert and hubby got an Oreo croffle (croissant waffle), which he said he expected to be warm, but it was cold. I adore Halo Halo and had to order one. The ice had the texture of a snow cone instead of shaved ice and there was one kind of bean in the dessert and lots of sweet additions (boba, coconut jelly, etc). I am used to at least 2-3 kinds of beans. Nevertheless, it was refreshing. Maybe the restaurant's sushi offerings and other Asian entrees provide a better punch. But to me, its Filipino fare was not up to par. Our waitress was pleasant but barely spoke to us. We weren't sure if she didn't have a command of English or just preferred as little conversation as possible with patrons. With one appetizer, two meals, two desserts, tax, and tip our bill was about $83.

Yelp
Back again! Can't get enough! A friend wanted to grab a quick bite in the area and said have you ever been? Clearly they haven't seen my reviews. Yes! This time I opted for the pad Thai, crab Rangoon, fried rice and of course boba! They gave us so much fried rice we had to take it to go. Lunch for tomorrow! Thanks again for the wonderful service and great vibes!
google avatar

Theresa J.

Yelp
Food was okay, expected better for the price and the appearance of the plates. The service was decent. The ambiance was nice, but the place gets very loud when they sing happy birthday, which happened four or five times while we had dinner.
google avatar

Beth B.

Yelp
Great place! Fantastic Korean Beef nap bun. Delicious tuna tataki. Jinro was fun. Service was great. Nice atmosphere! Will definitely return
google avatar

Cat C.

Yelp
My kid joined us on his Spring Break and asked for some good Asian food. So our first stop in town was Kubo. It is located in a strip mall with parking. There is booth seating and a full bar. We came between lunch and dinner so it was not so busy. We ordered 2 house specialties: Sisig and Chicken Teriyaki as well as the Beef Bulgogi Soupless Ramen. Our dishes filling and tasty. Service is friendly and efficient. Extensive menu. I recommend it!
google avatar

Beth K.

Yelp
This place was amazing. We can for a dinner with a bachelorette party and they went all out making it special with a song and bubble gum. The food was incredible and very fresh. The servers were very helpful and kind . The resturant had a cool anime decor
google avatar

Joel Jz Z.

Yelp
Friendly service sat right down at 10:30 for dinner and the server was busy but still made it over quickly. Nice full bar and sushi. I started with a seaweed salad, very fresh and tasty withstand carrots and cucumber Then the homage pork dumplings came nicely steamed with flavor and light crunch. Then came the Tam Kah soup with shrimp. they were kind enough to remove the tails. the soup was so full of flavor it was terrific! Followed by the Salmon lover spicy roll. the music was top 40 in the background and not loud at all. just perfect background music. Sweet chilli wings came as my meal this was a perfect meal to complete a full day. Did I mention the Happy hour early and late specials!
google avatar

Emily B.

Yelp
Super cute bar and restaurant. They have so many options to choose from, anyone can find something even if they don't like sushi. Everything was delish!
google avatar

Greg P.

Yelp
This place has literally three people in it right now and I'm waiting for my order that was placed well in advance. The hostess was on the phone taking an order for 5 minutes when I got here and then I'm told I need to wait another 5 minutes. Absolutely ridiculous and very frustrating to be wasting my time.
google avatar

Kristina P.

Yelp
If you're looking for bold flavors and great ambiance, KUBO delivers every time. The sisig has that perfect sizzle and crunch, and the pad thai is one of the best I've had! Authentic, rich, and perfectly seasoned. I love that they put effort into presentation without sacrificing taste. The drinks are creative, the service is great, and the energy is just right. Definitely a go-to for Asian fusion lovers in Fort Lauderdale.
google avatar

Grace F.

Yelp
Had a late dinner, while we were there, there was a good turnover of customers so this is clearly a popular go-to. My daughter and I ordered bulgogi bun and lumpia to start, then she had Yaki udon w/beef and I had pancit w/chicken. The lumpia and pancit were average, the udon and bulgogi were delicious. The Oreo tempura was way too greasy and we did not enjoy the flavor, the Thai donut was good. Service to take our order was quick and the appetizers came out quick. The entrees and the dessert took a long time so the pace was a little uneven. Also, other than ordering and delivering the food, no one checked in on us to see if we needed anything. I tried 3x to catch someone's attention to order a side of white rice, 4th time got me noticed.
google avatar

Rob G.

Yelp
This place is pretty amazing. Service and food are great and they are opened late (until midnight). The restaurant itself is a nice size (not huge/not small) and comfortable. The menu is quite extensive and could be overwhelming and cause serious FOMO and over-eating. I've been several times as a group of 5 and we all enjoy it. Some of the dishes are big enough to share and also the rolls as well in case you want to try different things. Anything you order will be good, don't worry. They also have no issues customizing or creating something that isn't on the menu. Definitely worth the drive. Give them a try and go check them out. Right on 17th Street East of US1 on the north side.
google avatar

Van O.

Yelp
I ordered the pancit, the pad ka prow, and the drunken udon. All three were great and arrived hot. I spent multiple years living in Philly and NYC and one of my biggest disappointments when I moved down here was the lack of good, authentic Asian food. I can safely say that I'm no longer disappointed. All three entrees were super flavorful and actually had real heat (be careful). I'll definitely be getting food from Kubo again.
google avatar

Shreya S.

Yelp
We were here for dinner on a really late Saturday night , and we were glad this was open. There's plenty of tables inside , we were seated right away. As vegetarians we tried the following : Vegan Roll : 4/5. This was a good roll. The wasabi was a little too spicy. Garlic edamame : 4/5. The flavors on this were different from what we have had in the past. Fried Rice: 4/5. The rice had good amount of veggies in it , and liked the smokiness of the rice. Basil Tofu : 4/5. This was the right amount of spicy. Loved the sauce that this came in.

Alberto B.

Yelp
Customer service quality is going down, portion size is going down too, maybe inflation? Or shrinkflation? Miso soup was mediocre and only half of the container was filled. Same for pad Thai. I remember the good old days in which it was filled to the top. Just a thought, they can do better
google avatar

Sabrina B.

Yelp
I didn't take any pictures of my food. I was too busy gobbling it down!! This is exactly what I call a five star restaurant amazing service and even more incredible food. The flavor profiles are so complex and delicious everything from fusion sushi is to die for!! My absolute favorite would be Korean style barbecue pork Bao buns - BUT the shrimp tempura was truly scrumptious! Why can't I say awesome music, great atmosphere & super central spot! If you're nearby, if you're on the fence, you won't regret it check this place out !!!
google avatar

Kat G.

Yelp
Always love stopping by here for some dinner. One of my favorite spots. Food is great. Service is great. Drinks are even better. Perfect spot for lunch/dinner. Literally anything you order is delicious. The baos never disappoint. Specially the beef bugolgi. The meat is packed with flavor and tender. Definitely recommend for casual lunch/dinner plans.

Yelp
We went yesterday! For San Valentine's and was amazed and surprised even for the holiday we didn't have to wait more than 10 minutes. Their customer service is great! And server recommendations were great! We had the spicy tuna bite and 2 sushi rolls! It was delicious and a lot! Worth coming back to try other plates! Ah and the place was nice, their decoration different and beautiful.
google avatar

Brianna D.

Yelp
The food was EXTREMELY good and every time I've come here, the food never disappoints me. Even the drinks are good. I ate a boatload of food AND topped it off with dessert. I regret absolutely nothing. Every single thing I had was delicious. The pad Thai was not dry and full of flavor. Both the Kubo roll and Japanese lover roll was extremely good but I liked the Japanese lover roll more because I love sushi with a jalapeño slice on top. The beautiful purple cheesecake that you see in the attached below was phenomenal and was the perfect texture. Everything was presented creatively and alluring which makes the food taste even better. Our server was awesome as well. She was very attentive and efficient. I honestly love KUBO, I've come here so many times and will continue to. If you have never tried this place, YOU NEED TO.
google avatar

Yelp
I was on vacation and like to try new (to me) places, and this place was conveniently located and absolutely delicious. The parking was easy, and the employees were insanely knowledgeable and kind! The vibe of the restaurant was nice too, very clean, music was good, and the aesthetic and designs were welcoming. I will be back here!
google avatar

Yelp
Love this spot! So close to the airport so when you have a late flight in, their late night kitchen is PERRRRFECT for having a spot to go to with good few, nice drinks and a late night vibe. I've been here a few times and love it.
google avatar

Alexina A.

Yelp
Kubo is such a fun spot! The sushi is always incredibly fresh, making it the perfect date night spot. My boyfriend and I love a good Kubo night. The bar has specialty drinks, and Nat has always been our favorite bartender. Plus their late night happy hour is unbeatable! Highly recommend for great sushi, drinks, and a great atmosphere.

Yelp
SOOOO happy that this was one of the places open late for us to grab a bite after our flight. They have a late night happy hour that got us even more excited for our meal. It includes drink deals and appetizer deals. Lychee mojito is top tier! Crab rangoons were smaller than I'm used to getting from Thai places but still good. The handrolls were DELICIOUS! The fish was fresh and I liked how their spicy salmon was whole pieces of salmon instead of the mushy ground type. The shrimp tempura roll was delicious as always and pretty large. Their Moo Ping (pork belly skewers) were also superb. Great sauce and flavorful, and the pork belly was soft. Comes with 5 skewers. My friend had the bulgogi baos and she loved them. The baos were perfectly pillowy and the bulgogi had good flavor. We also had the Kubo Fried Rice and that dish is a pretty good portion size. They have a pretty expansive menu which was overwhelming at first but it was nice to have lots of options. The space is dim and moody, and it was still pretty busy for it being 11pm when we got there.

Yelp
There is no dearth of good Thai places in the city but Kubo still stands out among them with decent ambiance and very reasonable prices. We were a party of 3, came here for an early dinner on a sunday and it was a relaxed atmosphere. We were attended well and the service was prompt. I had chicken ramen and spring rolls. The broth was flavorful and the rolls were nicely crispy. The portions were big too. It is on a busy street close to Broward Health but parking was no problem because they had their own lot. I came with a friend who does residency at BH and it was his suggestion. He is a regular here.
