The food here is light and fresh … very tasty without the usual sugar-sauce heavy approach that you find in many such places. Yuxiang Chicken was a particular treat.

I hate leaving bad reviews, but my experience with Kungfu Kitchen was awful from start to finish. We ordered multiple items through DoorDash and three soups spilled all over the bag, completely ruining every single dish. When we reached out to the restaurant, they did absolutely nothing to help and were extremely rude about the situation. Even if the order hadn’t shown up destroyed, they didn’t include any silverware with a large order, which just shows a complete lack of care. For the price, you’d expect at least basic customer service. Definitely won’t be ordering from here again.

Google
The bun is good, there are some dishes that are hard to find but average level flavor. Not a lot people

I absolutely loved this place! The portion sizes were generous, and the food was incredibly flavorful. It’s definitely a great spot to try. Plus, their late hours are a huge bonus.

Kungfu Kitchen in Alexandria is absolutely phenomenal! The food is bursting with flavor, and every bite feels like a culinary masterpiece. The dishes are crafted with such attention to detail, and the presentation is top-notch. The black dumplings were not only unique but incredibly delicious, with a perfect balance of texture and filling. The stir-fried pork dish was packed with fresh ingredients, bold spices, and the perfect amount of heat. The service was excellent, and the ambiance of the restaurant added to the experience. It’s rare to find a place where every single aspect, from taste to atmosphere, exceeds expectations, but Kungfu Kitchen manages to do it effortlessly. Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for authentic, high-quality Asian cuisine. I’ll definitely be coming back for more!

This place is turning out to be a family favorite. The food is consistently good and our server always looks to take care of us. There plenty of free parking so going here is no trouble at all. The setting is very casual. We continue trying new dishes but definitely have some favorites that are hard not to order because they are so good. Some favorites are the fried string beans and chongqing chicken. We recently tried the Dan Dan noodles, which were very good (but I think I make better). I loved the noodles themselves and there was a perfect amount of meat and sauce. My family really loves the mayo tofu. Always consistently delicious food. In a strip mall, there’s plenty of free parking available. It can get busy here but getting seated immediately should not be a problem. Because it gets busy you sometimes have to flag down your server. The atmosphere is nice, casual, and sort of unique. This place has a fusion feel to the food, with everything consistently delicious. This last trip we had our favorite, the chongqing spicy chicken (order this every time), Chinese lettuce, potato green pepper and eggplant, country style pork, and scallion pancakes. Mmmmm. This place has consistently great food. For starters, you will easily find free parking in the lot right outside the restaurant. There’s adequate seating and a very cool environment but be aware it can get busy. The food has fantastic flavors with a hint of fusion, and the perfect amount of spices and seasonings. Along with the chongqing spicy chicken (one of our favorites), we tried the fried string beans, pan fried pork belly buns, and home style crispy pork loin. Everything was delicious. I found this place by specifically looking for Chinese and it turned out great. There’s plenty of parking for the building but I do think this place can get busy. The setting has really cool designs on the wall and is very different from other Chinese restaurants. The food options were non-traditional and seemed almost fusion. The flavors were deep and delicious. My one criticism is it was slightly difficult placing an order because there was only one iPad (recommend servers use paper and pen). As an aside, rice is a La carte.

Can’t get enough of their steamed chicken dumplings! Look at the consistency! These were taking on different days and times over the last couple of months. The cucumber salad is great too! Highly recommend, especially if you’re looking for a more laid back environment

Google
Parking lot available. They seemed a little short staffed. It took some time for us to get some water and for us to put our order in. We ordered the Cubed Cucumber Salad, Crab & Pork Soup Dumpling, Scallion Pancake with Beef, Braised Pork Belly in Clay Pot and Crispy Sweet and Sour Pork. I also ordered a side of white rice since it doesn't come with entrees. I believe it's an extra $1.50. It was strange, however, that they immediately brought out my bowl of white rice by itself so it sat there until my dinner came. The Cucumber Salad was good and definitely spicy. It's great that they do have vegan items on their menu. The Scallion Pancake with Beef had good flavor but it doesn't generally come with any dipping sauce which can make it a tad dry. There's sauce in there as it's wrapped up with the Beef. The Soup Dumplings were delicious but I had to ask for a soup spoon and generally what comes with Soup dumplings are vinegar and chili oil. The Braised Pork Belly in Clay Pot was the best tasting and was delicious but I was a little disappointed it didn't come out in a small Clay Pot as expected. The crispy sweet and sour pork was crispy but didn't have much flavor and the pork had a strange consistency. Service was alright, a little slow but it seemed like the restaurant had just opened and things were getting figured out.

Yelp
Food: 5/5 Kungfu Kitchen is amazing if you love spicy Chinese food. I always get the mapo tofu and Chongqing chicken (extra spicy )... both are full of bold, satisfying heat. The scallion pancake another fave from here because it is perfectly crispy and flavorful. The por soup dumplings are juicy and delicious. Everything I have tried has consistent flavor and always hits the spot. Ambiance: 4/5 The place is clean, bright, and comfortable. It feels relaxed whether you're sitting down to eat, grabbing takeout, or getting delivery. Nothing fancy, just a neat spot where you can enjoy your food without any hassle. Overall Vibe: 5/5 The staff is friendly and the food is consistently great. Kungfu Kitchen is a cozy, clean spot to enjoy fantastic Chinese food.

Yelp
What a great hidden spot!! The food is amazing and the soup dumplings are made fresh daily. I watched the ladies make them and it is just amazing.

Yelp
Stopped by for a late meal, was craving dumplings and dan dan doodle. The dumplings tasted more like frozen one, and it had a weird aftertaste, was not enjoyable. The thai tea did not taste like the traditional/ normal ones you usually get at other places. The dan dan noodles was pretty decent, super spicy but not bad. The service could definitely be a lot better. The interior is gorgeous though, to be honest i think that's the only best part. But the neighbor customer ordered their main entree, looked pretty pleasing. maybe i'll give another try but so far, not great. ):

Yelp
The best mapo tofu I have ever have! Also soup dumpling is also so good as well as pig ear and seaweed salad!

Yelp
I've been here a few times and have tried over a dozen dishes. Like most Chinese restaurants, this place has a HUGE menu. Whether you want rice, noodles, vegetarian, dumplings, or baos...they got you. This is a cool casual spot located in a shopping center in Alexandria. Parking is decent thanks to a fairly large lot but it does get crowded, especially during rush hour, since its right off Duke St. The XLBs here are pretty good. The peking duck baos were too doughy and didn't have enough duck for my liking. The Yuxiang Eggplant is tasty but a bit too saucy. Braised beef noodle soup is always good.

Yelp
Although it's not the cheapest or in the best location in the DMV I personally thought it was one of the better Chinese spot I've been to. It reminds me of what bobs Shanghai in Rockville, MD used to be before their quality of food dropped. You can tell all the ingredients they use are from good quality and nothing tasted frozen. Seasoning is on point as well and everything tasted clean. Waitress gave me couple recommendations and everything was on point. Their soup dumplings is a must just as good as Din Tai Fung in my opinion. Got the shredded beef with chili pepper noodles which was a 10/10 didn't find any flaws about this dish. Chongqing spicy chicken is a must if you like a little kick to your dish. Also got the egg drop soup with beef. This soup if very comforting but the portion is humongous. One order of this soup is enough to feed four adults. Lots of cilantro in the soup just how I like it. This place was so good I've visited this place two days in a row.

Yelp
Ordered takeout when I was in town staying with some friends. I wasn't privy to knowing what we ordered but there was a smorgasbord of items. They were all amazing. My takeaway from this is either: 1. My friends have really nailed which the best items in n the menu are. Or 2. Everything on the menu has gigachad aura. When we walked into pickup the food, our host was immediately available with our to-go boxes. Everything was packed nicely and we received an appropriate amount of napkins, chopsticks, hot sauce etc for 3 people. She was smiling and overall the exchange was positive. Def would recommend.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I went to China a few years ago and we have been searching for good Shanghai dumplings/pork buns in the area ever since. I saw they had them in the menu and that's why we came here for dinner on Friday night. It was not busy at all when we were there but they had a steady food pickup. In addition to the dumplings/pork buns we got the chicken soup dumplings and the string beans. Everything overall was pretty tasty. The Shanghai buns came with a serving of 5 - 2 of them were seasoned nicely inside and the other 3 were bland with no spices. Not sure what happened between those batches. The string beans were a bit salty but otherwise excellent. I did like the soup dumplings but would try something else next time. We will be back to give the buns another try and also to try some of the other dishes. The staff were all very friendly as well.

Yelp
I came to try the soup dumplings and left with pork buns. The pork buns were exceptionally good! Very soft, delicious and tasty! Soup dumplings were also tasty. I did a carry out order, so service was fast. And it's a cute little casual restaurant with ample seating as they didn't seem particularly busy with dine in customers

Yelp
Very quiet. The only people there again! Food is good and prepared fresh. Service was excellent but not over baring. A great spot for a quiet late lunch.

Yelp
It appears Kungfu Kitchen has pivoted to more authentic Chinese recipes. It is still rather expensive, as mentioned in my last review, but it is well worth it. The Pork Soup Dumplings are amazing. We also really liked Yuxiang Eggplant, the Dandan Noodles, the Fried String Beans, and the Scallion Pancake with Beef.

Yelp
Still my No#1 place to go when I miss home! Amazing food and always tasty fresh every time we go!

Yelp
Hate to post a bad review but there was a roach in my food. The service was not good either. I was spot at the door three times before someone came to welcome me in. The prices are reasonable and from what I tasted, the flavors were good. I was hoping for my new neighbor Chinese spot.
google avatar

Yelp
The soup dumplings here aren't that bad. Service is ok. There are plenty of seating available for large or small groups. They are a bit pricey for the food that's mediocre.
google avatar

Yelp
really good! friendly service and delicious food! maybe the best soup dumplings in the DMV!! The string beans were especially tasty! The mapo tofu is very well done here and not too spicy at all! great!

Yelp
This place has some of the best / authentic Chinese food I have had in a long time. They have a serious mismatch between the silly name and the super-legit cooking . My group of 5 got 6 dishes and everything was delicious - soup dumplings, wood ear mushroom salad (amazing), Dan Dan, double cooked pork, and several other dishes were incredible, especially the Sweet and Sour Pork - that was turbocharged with citrus flavor and not dumbed down at all. They were even nice enough to make off the menu stewed tomato and egg, which is Chinese comfort food that barely any restaurant has because it's commonly made at home. This was also delicious. It was not full at all which is surprising for a restaurant of this quality. Only ding on this place is that it has no liquor license - not sure whether it is BYOB but would have been nice to have a couple Chingdaos. If you want really high quality, authentic Chinese food then you should check this place out without a second thought.

Yelp
Food was delicious, great ambiance and wonderful service. I recommend the soup dumplings and.. well everything.

Yelp
I'M BACK! After a 3-year Yelp hiatus (I really did not mean for it to go that long, but life happened!), I'm back to writing Yelp reviews! What better way to get back to this beloved (past and now present again) hobby of mine than to review my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE restaurant in the Northern Virginia area? I've been getting takeout from Kungfu Kitchen countless times over the past few years. This restaurant is extraordinary! The food is always tasty, the portions are generous, and you can just tell that the food is made with love! I absolutely love love love Sichuan food, and the Poached Beef in Hot Chili Oil from Kungfu Kitchen never fails to turn even the worst of days and weeks around. It's my absolute comfort and soul food, and I will get it time and time again. I've also ordered and loved their dumplings, and their spicy string bean dish is also an absolute go-to for me. The service here is impeccable - they're very caring and kind. If I could give Kungfu Kitchen 5 million stars (instead of just a mere 5), I absolutely would! I can't wait for my next visit, especially as it's getting colder in the DMV area and nothing can beat their poached beef in hot chili oil soup on a chilly day!

Yelp
Was in the mood for Szechuan food so we came to kungfu kitchen. Got a lot of items to try which are pictured below. This included the Shanghai pan fried pork buns, spicy shredded pork with cilantro, pork soup dumplings, chongqing spicy chicken, spicy sliced beef tendon in chili oil, and cucumber salad. To be honest, there was not any dish that stood out to me. It was all fine but a little too pricy for the taste and the portion. Service was meh, there was not enough people working. There was only one waitress who was trying to run the whole entire restaurant, from dine in to carry out. Our order also came out not uniformly, where we got some dishes really early on and some towards the end of our meal. Ambiance was alright and it was clean. Overall, it's an okay place, I just don't think I would come again if they don't improve in service and taste.

Yelp
After reading the great reviews, we dropped by for a quick lunch. Omg. Delicious. Service was friendly, vibe was good, everything clean and welcoming. The food came out pretty quick, and we were blown away. Super fresh, super tasty, textures were amazing. Don't skip the green beans (cooked perfectly al dente) and the duck buns!
google avatar

Yelp
Came here for their soup dumplings. I thought the service was nice and the food quality was decent. I craved for better soup dumplings after trying the pork one here. The pan fried dumplings were better I think. I ordered the scallion pancake with meat but the server brought me just scallion pancakes. The decorations are a bit strange. There are Lego figures in the front window and a hand drawn wall. The chopsticks were wooden and seemed like they have gone through a lot of use. I was tempted to ask for disposable ones. There is plenty of parking right outside so that is convenient. There's a huge soup bowl looking sink in the bathroom.

Yelp
I had pork belly the other day & literally tossed and turned for an hour due to stomach pains. I ended up with diarrhea & vomitting... so yeah there's that.
google avatar

Heidi L.

Yelp
My husband and I were looking for a new place to try but specifically soup dumplings, and found this place. The ambiance of the restaurant was not what we expected looking from the outside. I thought it was clean and seats were nicely arranged. Their menu is Szechuan so my husband was skeptical whether he was going to like them, but it was wonderful! The service was on point. I appreciate the server kindly explaining the dishes and giving us the recommendations. We enjoyed the experience. Willing to try again!

Yelp
We like this place. It's pretty close to "real Chinese" food (we lived in 上海 for three years). Dumplings are good, variety of veggie dishes. Prices aren't cheap, but reasonable. Good portion sizes. Fast and friendly staff.
google avatar

Karen T.

Yelp
Had a craving for spicy chicken and the chongqing spicy chicken did not disappoint. It had the perfect amount of crunch, saltiness and spice that paired well with hot rice. Split between two people was the perfect amount! It also paired really well the their cucumber salad as it was vinegary and garlicy! It kinda reminded me of Grillo Pickles ifykyk The soup dumplings had a good amount of soup as it filled up the whole soup spoon! I do wish the soup dumplings came with ginger slices in the vinegar soy sauce but it was still really good! Service was friendly and patient! Would like to come back to try their other dishes!
google avatar

Lily H.

Yelp
We haven't been to kungfu since before Covid, wow has this place gone downhill. This was a solid 4.5 stars before..2 is generous now. Clearly not as popular as previously either - Saturday at 1 and it was empty! Way more workers than customers. The quantity of the noodles has decreased extensively, yet with increased prices. The noodles say "hand pulled", but are soggy with no resistance - definitely not hand pulled! The soup dumplings are also very expensive and taste has changed. Our pork dumplings didn't look thoroughly cooked and all we were given was black vinegar. No ginger, no small spoon to scoop the vinegar. We won't be back - shame, we were so excited about this place before.
google avatar

Jeremy A.

Yelp
We picked up Takeout here and the parking lot was rough so just be prepared if youre looking to dine in or pickup. The Chicken was fantastic, great flavor and I will surely be back!
google avatar

Tara F.

Yelp
I wanted to love this place, but left extremely disappointed, and tossed half of my food. I ordered online and had someone run out to pick it up for me while I was at work, so I don't have anything to say about the location itself. My coworker ordered the braised pork belly and said it tasted overcooked, "mushy", and oily. We split an order of the steamed bun with pork belly and I will say that was the best part of the meal. It was decently filled and flags a good flavor. I ordered the Chongqing spicy chicken and a side of white rice. For the price of the food I'm surprised rice didn't come with it, but I paid the extra $2 for that. The chicken had an excessive amount of seasoning on it. It was so much seasoning that I couldn't eat the food. I don't think I'll ever return, but if I do it will only be for some more of those steamed buns!
google avatar

Melody M.

Yelp
A great Chinese restaurant for the area since you can't find similar types of Chinese food in the area unless you're in Rockville. We had about 3-4 dishes most of which we forgot to take a photo of because we devoured it so quickly. On the day we went, they were so understaffed, the 2 waiters were scrambling between the online orders, the tables and the kitchens. This is the only reason for the 4 stars. Otherwise, amazing! Would highly recommend.
google avatar

Lucy M.

Yelp
This place is f**king amazing! While working late. A colleague and I ordered takeout from here. I ordered the shredded beef with chili noodles, and my colleague ordered the pig ears and pig feet because she was told it is good for collagen... lol! She said the pig ears were a tad salty but good. Anyways, my noodles were so good! Personally, I didn't find it spicy but I also have a high tolerance for spice. Although, I don't not eat pig feet, I did try a small piece. I'm not sure what pig feet is supposed to taste like- however it did not have a "piggy" taste and it did have some heat. I will definitely be back to try other items.

Melanie K.

Yelp
Haven't been in person but ordered there 2ce & will definitely order again. The pork belly & scallion pancakes were amazing
google avatar

Bryan W.

Yelp
I enjoyed dinner here with my wife and son, and we all agreed it was fantastic. Everything we tried, from the soup dumplings to the Peking duck bun to the scallion pancakes with beef to the Mala beef noodle soup, was flavorful and tender. The cucumber salad was surprisingly spicy in the best way. The portion sizes did not disappoint either. Although they were quite busy, the service was attentive at all times. We will definitely be back and highly recommend to anyone who wants to experience delicious, authentic Chinese cuisine.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped by today to celebrate National Dumpling Day and picked up an order of Pork Soup Dumplings. They did not disappoint, per usual, but I will say the way that they were packaged did not keep them hot/warm. Maybe a different container that holds heat a bit better for takeout would be beneficial. Still didn't stop me from chowing down on them at nearly room temp! They did have a new item on the menu that intrigued me. It is called Cilantro Egg Drop Soup w/Ground Beef or "West Lake Beef Soup", which I found out after a quick google search. I love the "traditional" Chinese take out version but figured I'd give this a try. Man, oh man! That first bite was amazingly delish and I wanted to throw the spoon down and drink it straight from the container! But, I have some kind of home training and refrained from moving forward with that messy idea. So, this soup has tofu in it and tons of beef and cilantro and uses egg whites. It's very filling and the broth is not salty like some versions of egg drop soup can be. It will be definitely be a staple for my to-go comfort food this fall! Stop by and give it a try now that the weather is breaking and it's officially fall! Enjoy!
google avatar

Elaine W.

Yelp
This place popped up when I was looking for more authentic chinese food (not the fast food joints). Based on the pictures and reviews, I thought I would check it out. I ordered pork soup dumplins, scallion pancakes, house special noodle soup, string beans, and braised pork belly. All delicious. If you like strong flavors, I recommend the braised pork and string beans, everything else was mild or flavored just right. Highly recommend. Don't mind the paper plates.
google avatar

Danny B.

Yelp
First off I want to say that I really wanted to enjoy the food here. While the soup dumplings were excellent and were straight fuego, we did not enjoy the rest of the meal. The kung Pao chicken was sweet, never in my life have I had sweet king Pao chicken. The fried rice wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either, definitely a more traditional fried rice. The Chongqing Spicy Chicken to me was not what I expected. It's supposed to be a spicy popcorn chicken style. For me the Chongqing Spicy Chicken was way too crispy, and scratched my throat as if a rock was going down my pipe. Not sure if it was just cooked too crispy or if that's normal, but I did not enjoy. If you're coming for soup dumplings, that was delicious. The restaraunt itself and staff is very nice.
google avatar

Dani A.

Yelp
For the foodies who have a more discerning palate and criticized the noods, I hear you. However, I really enjoyed their new menu item Dan Dan Noodles. Crazy spicy and very tasty, I'm currently sweating Yes, their dumplings are the star here, but we also really enjoy their fried string beans, pepper beef fillet, mapo tofu, sautéed potato green pepper and eggplant, and my wife is a big fan of yuxiang shredded pork. In fact, we've enjoyed every veggie dish we've tried (and nearly every meat dish). Highly recommend, it's the best Chinese food we've found locally!

Yelp
Is this exceptional Chinese food? No. But is it good for the DMV area? Yes. Out of all the Chinese restaurants that make dumplings and XLBs, this place probably has the best ones I've had in the area. Come with low expectations and you'll be relatively satisfied. I came here for dinner with two friends on Monday dinner and we were seated immediately without problems. PORK SOUP DUMPLINGS - 10.55 Each order comes with six soup dumplings sitting on top of a steamer basket. The soup dumplings were pretty big but flat - the bottom of the dumplings stuck to the basket so there were some unfortunate casualties. Picking each dumpling required extra care. For the XLBs that didn't explode, there was a surprisingly amount of broth (pretty clear and not too oily) in each dumpling and the meat was flavorful. The dumpling skin wasn't amazing, but overall, the XLBs are quite good for the area and worth checking out. SHANGHAI PAN-FRIED PORK BUN - 12.75 The bread was crisped well and there was some soup in some of the buns! However, I thought there could be more pork in these buns. At least the bread was flavorful and tasty by itself. There's five per order and I'd definitely recommend giving them a try. My friends and I enjoyed them. HOUSE SPECIAL STIR-FRIED NOODLES - 15.25 We could not tell what flavor profile these noodles were going for. There was chicken, beef, and seafood in these noodles. Noodles were more soggy than it was stir-fried. Overall, it was really oily and didn't have a distinguishable flavor so this was a very subpar entree that we would not recommend. FRIED STRING BEANS - 11.95 These were pretty tasty (hard to mess up a staple like this) but there wasn't a lot to begin with. It's one of the two or three vegetable options they have here. Again, come with low expectations and try out the XLBs and pork buns! Would recommend staying away from the noodles.

Yelp
Updated review I used to love this place and would go out of my way to travel here for the food. However, the last few times I've visited, much has changed. The service is now slow and inattentive, and the Kung Pao chicken doesn't taste the same. Additionally, the portion sizes seem to have been almost cut in half. Very disappointing. I wonder if it changed owners.
google avatar

David H.

Yelp
Overall pretty good. Favorite items are the XLB, pan fried dumplings, scallion and beef pancake, hand pulled noodles and we had a couple of specials that were also very good (crispy shrimp and Manchurian cold noodle). The Peking duck and pork buns were ok (not enough filling), the crispy Szechuan chicken was ok, as was the eggplant. Spicy cucumbers aren't all that spicy but very fresh and crisp. Cold tofu salad was ok. Wasn't busy when we arrived right when they opened but it was full when we left

Yelp
Went here for lunch a week or so ago. Being from NYC, I like to think that my authentic Chinese food standards are pretty high, so my critique of Kungfu kitchen is based on this experience. We tried the braised beef noodle soup, duck baos, xiao long bao, smashed cucumbers, and salt and paper fried shrimp. We really enjoyed the duck baos and xiao long baos, but they weren't the best we had. The soup and everything else was pretty mediocre. If I'm in the area, I'll give them another try and see if maybe I ordered the wrong thing. Otherwise, there way better places in VA that I will stick to.

Yelp
Lightning-speed service! Order and ka-pow! Your order is there (although I was told that dumplings -- which I did not order -- take longer)! I think that is what is Kungfu about it! The food is also delicious, the décor superior, the wait staff very nice and attentive, and basically nothing could be better! I am speaking as someone who lives in Rockville -- the de facto Chinatown of the D.C. area -- so I have regular access to a plethora of great Chinese foods (by which I mean, from various regions) and so I know! Of what I speak, that is! I had the Woodear Mushroom Salad there and got two more salads to go, those being the Cubed Cucumber Salad and the Green Onion Tofu Salad. Of these, I enjoyed the Green Onion Tofu Salad the most -- in part because I love tofu and in part because of the ample amount of toasted sesame oil used in the dressing, plus the fresh, satisfying crunch of the yummy green onions .... I also had the Vinegar-Pepper Shredded Potato and my dining partner got some kind of cooked lettuce dish -- but I didn't order it, so I'm not sure what it was called (don't remember, don't want to write the wrong thing! I also don't see it on the menu -- maybe it was a seasonal dish that isn't available now?). Whatever it was called, I found it most delicious! Delicious lettuce! Enticing vibe! Overall yay! :-D

Yelp
The soup dumplings were probably the best from the three items we ordered. They came out quickly, steaming hot, had just the right amount of soup, and overall delicious. The black vinegar sauce was a little sweeter than I prefer. The shredded pork with cilantro dish was pretty good. I don't think I would order it again though. I personally did not find it to be spicy. I was hoping it would be as spicy as shredded pork with hot longhorn green peppers at an authentic Szechuan restaurant. The brace pork tasted a little dry and stiff. The sauce was OK. I would not recommend this dish to anyone. I was really hoping to like this restaurant because it is so close and I want to support small local businesses. Unfortunately it was a little too disappointing to try it again. There are just too many other higher quality Chinese restaurants in the Northern Virginia area as well as Maryland if you're willing to make the drive.

Yelp
The food is beyond great. I was so sad that I couldn't eat more, but did take them home and hubby and I had dinner with the leftovers. The service was great. Just one server at the time we went but surprisingly not a lot of patrons. The ambiance plus be better, but they had a show on of a girl that would just cook and her and her grandma would eat it. Was a bit odd bit kept hubby entertained enough to keep his nose out of his phone so it helped.

Yelp
Food is actually quite good. However, service is so abysmal that it negates any positive points. For the 2nd time in a row, one person in our party got her appetizer and entree together a solid 15 minutes before anyone else was served anything at all. The first person was ready to head out by the time anything else arrived at the table. When POLITELY mentioned to server as a suggestion for improvement in the future, she instantly became very argumentative and stated one excuse after another (incl. throwing the chef under the bus). Then, when she brought the check at the end, she unsolicitedly proceeded to be belligerent once again, even saying to me that she hopes to never see me there again. She need NOT worry ... she won't.

Yelp
Great soup dumplings and authentic cuisine. A must try near Old Town. I will be back!

Yelp
Truly couldn't be any happier with the food, staff, and atmosphere at Kungfu Kitchen. I had no idea that the perfect Chinese restaurant could exist. Kungfu Kitchen is dishing out all the right authentic dishes that you'd usually have to go to multiple restaurants to get. Soup dumplings, steamed dumplings, pan-fried buns, noodle soup, clay pot, and chongqing spicy chicken just to name a few things. They all come out at the right temperature looking picture perfect. My current favorite dishes are the shredded spicy pork with cilantro and the pan-fried peking duck bun. The shredded spicy pork is thinly sliced, has a nice touch of spice to it (could be spicer for sure), and is served with an extra healthy dose of cilantro. I'm a cilantro lover, and this dish just melts my heart with the heaping amount they put in. The onions and green peppers in the dish add a nice textural crunch to it all. The pan-fried pecking duck bun is where it's at. The sweet duck meat is diced up nice and small so that you get a nice even distribution of the filling with each bite. The fried outside of the bun add a nice subtle crunch, while the wonderfully soft, pillowy dough of the bun absorbs some of the flavoring of the filling and honestly gets close to tasting like a sweet/savory dessert. A special shout out goes to the pork and crab soup dumplings for 2 reasons. (1) the skin did not break when picking up the dumplings, and (2) they're using real crab and not "krab" with a "k"! They do charge $1.50 for a side of white rice, which I'm actually okay with considering how some other restaurants give so much rice that ends up being wasted. NOTE: For dine in, food comes out when it's ready not necessarily in an appetizer then entree order. They do a lot of to-go orders and seem to have a very efficient method for picking up carry-out orders (table set up front by the door where to-go orders are placed with the name on the receipt). 10/10 will go again!

Yelp
This was a pretty delish soup dumpling. Not the very very best I've ever had but certainly competitive. The noodles were a tad greasy but yummy nonetheless. Scallion pancakes were good too. Quick service and the price was ok.

Yelp
Food looked great online but I never got it. I was being delivered for over 40 minutes when I'm down the street from the restaurant. Lost out on over 40$ worth of food.
