Kush by Stephens is the exciting combination of Florida's oldest deli and Hialeah's first cocktail bar. They offer classic deli-style sandwiches, such as hand-cut pastrami and corned beef, in an old-school meets new-school setting for dine-in, breakfast, and lunch, as well as catering for all events. The menu highlights deli-classics like Bubbie's Matzoh Ball Soup, Kush Hospitality's Chicken n' Waffles, NY Style Deli Sandwiches, Bagel & Lox Platter, Reuben Sandwiches, and Egg Salad Sandwiches. Stephen's original signage remains, and Henderson "Junior" Biggers, who's been slicing meat for over 60 years, continues to carve the smoked meats. Hungry? Let us satisfy your appetite.
"Kush Hialeah was formerly known as Stephen’s, a classic spot for Jewish deli staples. Now, you can expect the same good burgers found in other Kush restaurants—but you’re still coming here for the dishes this place served back when it opened in 1954. The menu has latkes, matzo ball soup, and hot pastrami sandwiches. A meal here is incomplete without trying some cheesy “goy-ish” croquetas made with corned beef and pastrami that are deliciously Hialeah. And in the back, they have a little bar called La Cocina that's packed with Hialeah clichés and drinks with names like “ay que feo” and “mucho mucho mezcal.”" - mariana trabanino, virginia otazo, ryan pfeffer
"Those looking for a fun flavor twist when ordering nachos should head to Kush by Stephen’s in Hialeah. Here, the restaurant serves pastrami nachos that are precisely what it sounds like — think piles of peppery homemade pastrami with cheddar cheese, topped with pico and sour cream." - Amber Love Bond
"Aficionados of the boozy beverage can find an iteration of the drink in Kush By Stephen’s." - Alona Martinez
"You won’t stumble into a Paris Hilton DJ set in Hialeah. But you will find this classic Jewish deli that’s been revamped by the Kush team. Here, you can relax while sipping a whiskey egg cream and eating an excellent deli sandwich. The Rachel, which is like a Reuben with pastrami instead of corned beef, is our favorite thing to eat here. After you polish that off, check out the little cocktail bar in the back." - ryan pfeffer
"Home to some of the best pastrami in the city, Kush by Stephen’s in Hialeah had the brilliant and very Miami idea to stuff that meat inside a croqueta. Was it as significant as Einstein positing that E = mc2? Well, we’re not here to comment on that, but what we can say is that the Russian-esque dressing that is served as a dipping sauce is a perfect complement, enhancing rather than overpowering this croqueta’s great flavor." - charlie crespo
