The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies In NYC, Ranked - New York - The Infatuation

"Soho chocolatier L.A. Burdick does an exemplary hot chocolate. Their chocolate chip cookie, on the other hand, is fine. The dark chocolate, vanilla, and bits of walnut do what they can, and we certainly wouldn't turn one away, but overall it’s a snooze." - molly fitzpatrick, bryan kim, willa moore, will hartman, sonal shah

The Best Hot Chocolate In NYC - New York - The Infatuation

"Just standing inside of this chocolate shop in Soho feels like a holiday activity. The ceiling is covered in Christmas lights, and it smells like they might have a cocoa tree growing in the back. L.A. Burdick has been in the neighborhood for decades, and they serve several different kinds of hot chocolate. But the spicy hot cocoa is the one you want. It has the thick consistency of drinking chocolate, but it’s sweeter. The hint of cayenne balances things out nicely." - will hartman, carina finn koeppicus, nikko duren, bryan kim

Where to Find the Best Hot Chocolate in NYC | Eater NY

"L.A. Burdick has been crafting whimsical chocolates and exceptional drinking chocolate since 1987. At the charming Soho shop, guests can choose between cups of lushly thick white chocolate, milk chocolate, a dark chocolate blend, or a variety of single-origin dark chocolates from Ecuador to Madagascar. Each cup is made with chocolate shavings and steamed milk, lending a melted chocolate bar-type quality." - John Tsung

My favorite chocolate spot in SoHo! Every time I’m in SoHo, I make sure to stop by this place — it’s hands down my go-to for chocolate. Their hot chocolate is on another level. It’s made by grinding real chocolate, not just mixing cocoa powder, so the flavor is incredibly rich and deep. You can choose from dark, milk, or white chocolate — each one is delicious in its own way. Of course, all of their chocolates are amazing, but I highly recommend trying the hot chocolate. It’s a must!

Google
L.A. Burdik offers a luxurious chocolate experience with a level of sophistication that’s hard to beat. The atmosphere is clean and elegant, setting the perfect stage for indulging in their exceptional chocolates. We ordered the drinkable dark chocolate—it was smooth, rich, and truly special. However, I only gave 4 stars because the customer service could use improvement; the staff seemed a bit distant and could be more attentive. On a positive note, the place is fully equipped to accommodate customers in wheelchairs, making it accessible to all. Overall, it’s a fantastic spot for chocolate lovers, just hoping for better service next time.

Google
This cozy little spot serves some of the best dark hot chocolate I've ever had, mostly due to the quality of the chocolate they use. The beautifully lit interior creates a warm vibe, and there are plenty of options to explore for chocolate lovers.

Google
Around Easter, the shop transforms into a whimsical wonderland, featuring handcrafted chocolate eggs and bunnies that are almost too beautiful to eat. The Easter eggs are intricately decorated and filled with smaller confections, making them a perfect gift or a decadent treat for yourself. The chocolate bunnies, made from their signature dark, milk, or white chocolate, are charmingly detailed and taste as good as they look.

Google
This place is really good, their chocolate is super high quality and professionally made. I tried the chocolate praline with hazelnut which was delicious. I also took their chocolate chip cookies which were delicious, one of the best I’ve ever had. They are made with good quality dark chocolate and walnuts and is absolutely delicious! I highly recommend. Also- for those of you who like dark hot chocolate, theirs is one of the best out there!

Google
It's so small in there but it's essentially a chocolate shop, so that's understandable. It was such a nice experience. The shop might've been tiny but it was lovely. Very beautiful with the lights. The service was excellent. The ladies were so nice and friendly. I really liked my Burdick Blend Dark Hot Chocolate (though, to be honest, I've had better). The Chocolate Mousse Cake was good. The mousse part was excellent but the cake base was dry. I did enjoy myself overall and would recommend it to any hot chocolate lover.

I had the white chocolate and it’s so good. Perfect amount of thickness and they add fresh nutmeg

Stepping into the store is like being instantly transported to a small village in New Hampshire. I adore their hot chocolates in the winter and their iced hot chocolates in the summer. Spring and Autumn you can get either or both depending on the weather. Get the 50/50 hot chocolate... half milk and half dark. Experience a little happiness by yourself or with a friend.

Yelp
LA Burdick's hot chocolate was exactly what I needed during this cold holiday season! You have the option of selecting between blend vs single source, and dark vs milk vs white chocolate (with some single source there is even an extra dark option). I was feeling the classic dark chocolate and it definitely met my high expectations, after hearing the praise of their chocolate quality. Compared to other hot chocolates in the city, I liked how the dark chocolate came through nicely with an appropriate sweetness level. Loved how it was thick and creamy, but still "drinkable" and liquid enough to enjoy as a drink! The store itself is also very cute with lots of fairy lights hanging from the ceiling and its chocolates showcased around the room. Love how their packs of hot chocolate comes with a mini whisk. You order with the cashier and there is a separate cafe section on the side where you pick up your drink. Staff were polite towards customers but the cafe staff were rude to their cashier counterparts when orders were messed up. There is only one indoor table that accomodate about 3 people and two tables outdoor. Worth checking out if you're exploring the NYC hot chocolate scene!

Yelp
Came in here for very cold winter and ordered a hot dark chocolate drink. Wow I was amazed. The other products that this place carries were also amazing, great looking, and mouth watering. Will definitely come back again to this place in the future

Yelp
THE BEST HOT CHOCOLATE IN NEW YORK!! Seriously this place is amazing. I always bring my friends here that are from out of town and they are always blown away! You can get either milk, dark, or white sipping chocolate for your hot cocoa. They also have an assortment of chocolate and pastries to choose from and coffee as well. I really recommend coming here for hot cocoa!!
google avatar

Yelp
I finally got the chance to try the hot chocolate my friend highly recommended! The hot chocolate is rich and thick, exactly how I love it. I went with the dark chocolate option, and the taste of cacao was so vibrant and satisfying--perfectly balanced, not overly sweet. The small cup size was just right, providing the perfect portion without feeling too much. I'm already looking forward to my next visit to try the extra dark hot chocolate! Highly recommend for any chocolate lover!

Yelp
Having fallen in love with LA Burdick's hot chocolate during a visit to their Boston location, I was excited to checkout their presence in New York City. My recent experience at their NYC establishment did not disappoint; it was a reminder of why LA Burdick's hot chocolate is my absolute favorite. The consistency is perfect. What sets LA Burdick apart is the quality of their ingredients and their dedication to crafting an exceptional hot chocolate. I've sampled hot chocolates in various cities, including Paris, and I can confidently say that LA Burdick's stands out as the best I've ever had.

Yelp
The Hot chocolate is a winner lol get milk not the dark because baby lol that cup ain't friendly if you can't handle the sharpness. The decor is similar to other designer chocolatiers. Staff were cool. Would definitely come back.

Yelp
Welcome to chocolate heaven ! This place is on the pricier side. They have everything from flavored chocolate truffles to chocolate pastries and even chocolate animals - in every flavor you can imagine . I tried their chocolate chip cookie, and it was warmed to perfection in the oven. The inside was melty and chewy with sooo much chocolate, while the outside was perfectly crispy . It wasn't my favorite cookie in the city, but it was definitely a good one. The shop is small with minimal seating, but it's so cute. Plus, the shop manager was so nice, which made the experience even better. My only regret? Not trying their frozen hot chocolate for the summer . Next time for sure!

Yelp
Liking dark chocolate seems to be a hot take for some people, but what if it's combined with *another* love-or-hate flavor: cardamom?? Porto baton. I absolutely love the combination of dark chocolate and cardamom in this piece! Unsurprisingly, my sister couldn't have more than a nibble of it lol. The porto baton chocolate piece is a real treat for dark chocolate and cardamom fans. The Earl Grey one was quite nice as well. Bold floral tea flavor. The salted caramels aren't of the same caliber as the ones at Seattle's Fran's Chocolates in terms of smoothness, but they still get the job done. The coconut & ginger chocolate piece and the mango piece seemed a bit gimmicky to me; flavors didn't mesh perfectly (mango one was particularly really tart) and the filling was too textured for my liking. Of course I couldn't help but get a few of the animal-shaped ones. Very cute mice and penguins chocolates, but the taste itself wasn't anything noteworthy. Overall I'd say it's worth a visit if you're really curious about the unique flavors that are in the chocolates here!

Yelp
It was a Saturday late afternoon (~420pm) and the Boston store is already packed! We waited for about 20minutes, in my opinion it's not bad given it's a holiday season weekend. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ~ Single Source Drinking Chocolate $6.5 ~ The single source of the month is Madagascar. Knowing it's a very creamy & thick drinking chocolate, we opted for the small size and it was perfect for the two of us. Using dark chocolate (so it's not overly sweet), the drink is incredibly chocolatey and incorporated the lovely flavour of Madagascar chocolate, which have a citrus fruitiness with hints of floral aromas. Rating: 5/5 ~ Single Source Chocolate Bar $11 ~ Becoz I love the drink, I also bought the chocolate bars and they taste heavenly. I picked Madagascar & Brazil, they tasted just how the guide described (see picture)! Rating: 5/5 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Will I be back? Yes It reminds me of the hot chocolate I used to get in Europe, and I love it. I had Max Brenner's drinking chocolate just a week after and bloody hated it. Let me know if there are other great hot chocolate in the city so I can check them out!

Yelp
One of the best hot chocolates I've had in my life-- it's pricey but worth it, just so decadent and delicious without being overly rich. Really really nice depth of flavor. Liked it so much I bought a bag of their hot chocolate mix (recommend the milk chocolate blend) to take home, which comes with this cute little whisk. Seating is very very limited, there's basically just one tiny table and I don't think it has a bathroom either. Also bought a box of chocolates which were good but I don't think were worth the price. Of the ones I tried, honey walnut was by far my favorite.

Yelp
Ok *I* really like their intense hot chocolate and iced hot chocolate but it's not for everyone. Real choco lovers only. Try the spiced versions. Ambience is really cute!!
google avatar

Alysha J.

Yelp
First of all we purchased a chocolate cookie that did not even make it outside of the restaurant! The gooey inside of that cookie fell into my mouth. My sister purchased the milk hot chocolate but loved my white hot chocolate better. This is my second time and this location never disappoints! The service is consistently great. The ambiance adds a whimsical twist on chocolate. There is not a lot of indoor seating but they do offer seating outside.

Yelp
Some of the finest hot chocolate I've ever enjoyed and a visit isn't complete if it doesn't involve 1- a small hot chocolate and 2- a small bag of the hot chocolate to make at home. The staff are pleasant, they work studiously and quickly. The lovely shop had some Edith Piaf gently thrumming through the small but well apportioned space. All in all, a win.

Yelp
There are few other chocolate around the neighborhood that had great hand made chocolate. So from taste wise it's not the most unique. Have you heard of blooming hot chocolate? :) Service wise. It was the worst for no particular reason. We are a family of 4 with a quiet 3 years old girl. First to get in the shop with no one behind us. We are quiet, asked nicely with a smile when we order our drinks and the lady in grey curled short hair with glasses gave us attitude for no reason. Not a one off bad attitude, but the constant disrespectful tone that ordered us to grab our drink, and reluctant to tell us what we order while she mumbles the order that came out and look the other way. Funny enough when you have 3 white ladies coming in 5 minutes after us the service for them is completely different. They were greeted with a smile and eye contact. Read out each drink as she hand it to these 3 white customers. Is this the sort of establishment you want to visit? Or is she just having a bad day with the first 5 non local, non white looking customer? Drink wise I highly recommend the blooming hot chocolate 2 blocks away. Creamy, rich and has a second layer of flavor that lingers on your tongue without overwhelming your taste palette for breakfast after. I would not come here for both drinks and service unless you look white and perhaps more local looking. This is what the establishment showed us.

Yelp
I was the one who called and badgered them until they opened doors on 20th btwn bway and 5th. I used to take a trip to Boston each month to get their hot chocolate before. I'm a purist, I don't put garbage chocolate in my mouth. So if you're a chocolate addict and a true hot cocoa snob, have any European affiliation or roots to you, then this is the only place for you. Also get their cookie. Love their entire line of pastries but most addicted to their Harvard Square and Chocolate Mousse Cake but I am a direct descendent of Wonka, and my happy place would to be swimming in a chocolate river with some oompa lumpas. Don't mess around, this is the world's best hot chocolate.
google avatar

Jeff O.

Yelp
Wow what a cookie. The whole experience is like a movie. A little too done up, with the actors to boot. But anyways this might be the best chocolate chip cookie.
google avatar

Annie Y.

Yelp
Love their milk hot chocolate! I felt they weren't as rich as Jacques Torres and the drink went down more smoothly. I decided to buy a small bag of the milk chocolate blend because it came with a cute little whisk and I can adjust the recipe to my liking at home!

Yelp
Hidden gem in Soho. Stopped by on a quiet morning after christmas. The place looked so pretty with all the lights. Ordered a dark chocolate hot chocolate and a mocha . Both of the drinks were delicious. The hot chocolate is so thick, velvety and rich.Almost felt like a chocolate sauce. They have a wide assortment of pastries and chocolates. Definitely visit this if you are in Soho.Worth the trip.
google avatar

Nadine Y.

Yelp
While walking around Soho area we came across this chocolate shop that had cute chocolate figurines of penguins and bunnies that I wanted to check out what was in the shop. They offer a variety of chocolate bars, dark chocolate, and gift boxes. The interior of this chocolate shop was very whimsical. I got a caramel latte and it was decent. I would say that I unfortunately couldn't taste much of the caramel and more latte. I would also say that the service here was mediocre where it seemed like no one really wanted to help me and if I had questions about certain chocolates, they had zero knowledge about the items in the shop.

Yelp
My friends and I decided to create a spreadsheet this winter to find the best hot chocolate in the city. (This and Lysee are the top two.) LA Burdick is a no-fuss spot with little seating and some incredible hot chocolate. Everyone here says to get the milk hot chocolate but my favorite was the spicy dark. It's not spicy at all but adds a ton of extra flavor. There isn't a lot of fuss around the toppings, aka there isn't any, but it doesn't need it. Additionally, the Burdick cookie is a perfect pairing. There are two checkout counters - I aim for weekdays when it's not busy and head straight to the drinks bar. Otherwise, practice patience for the long line of folks who will struggle making decisions and know a great drink is ahead.

Yelp
Best gosh darn hot chocolate north of the Mason Dixon line. Danggit, I'd come back here again!!! Seriously, best hot chocolate I've had in my life. Get the milk hot chocolate. You shall be pleased...ah, yes...you shall be pleased.

Yelp
- Locale Destination - It's on Broadway and Prince St, South Village, NY. It's a compact spot surrounded by many small retails/restaurants. Ambiance: cozy, warm. Small numbers of seating inside and outside. Menu: chocolates, pastries, hot chocolate Service: prompt Parking: it seems impossible, but I don't know NY. - Gluttony Expedition - Hot chocolate: you do taste the quality. Great flavor and not overly sweetened. Nice one in a cold NY. - Conqueror's Deduction - I didn't try their chocolates nor cakes, which looked very good. But I tasted the quality - I'll try more next time.

Yelp
As a confessed Chocoholic, I am a true believer. I prefer refined cacao with only the slightest hint of sugar. But, there are different kinds of chocolatiers. Some make chocolate, others make confections. LA Burdick specializes in both kinds of treats, either amusingly shaped into signature mice or seasonal snowmen; or molded with bits of fruit, nuts or pure with hints of liquor, or dusted with cocoa powder. Not the finest on the specialty market, but certainly superior to nearly all. As gifts, these are number one. As fun treats, none better. As a purist, I already advised I prefer less sugar and higher percentage of cacao. In their niche, in my top tier.
google avatar

Liz P.

Yelp
I've tried most of the renown hot chocolates around the city. L.A. Burdick has one of the best ones - sweet but not too sweet and very delicious! Will be back, thank you!
google avatar

Jaimee A.

Yelp
Very cute shop but not for me. They feature a lot of dark chocolate which is not something we enjoy. My kids found the cookies too rich (reminiscent of Levain's cookies). My husband had the hazelnut orange cake which was good but not good enough to go back.
google avatar

Shradha A.

Yelp
I love chocolate and especially fresh truffles. I had wanted to try out L.A. Burdick for a while but my other frequent option remains my favorite, a couple of blocks away. Zero enthusiasm, help or guidance from the staff. They were bored and couldn't care less. They also had absolutely no product knowledge. You're selling a bite for $2.50 each - and can't answer a basic question. The chocolates didn't taste fresh. The Earl Grey had a lovely flavor. But others were simply average.

Jeff S.

Yelp
Their cookies are absolutely delicious. I can't wait to go there again. It's a small store. I wish there was a place to sit.
google avatar

Alicia P.

Yelp
The best hot chocolate in town. I've tried many places but I just love the quality of the chocolates. In a cold day, this is the place I would like to be to get a delicious warm drink.
google avatar

Chen H.

Yelp
My friend and I were on a mission to find the most tasty hot chocolates in town, and good reviews led us to this beautiful little store. Before getting into their hot chocolate options, the other beautiful chocolate products around the store caught our attention. We were in owe by how delicately and perfectly they are made. Meanwhile, they offer chocolates made from all over the world, from Bolivia to Madagascar I ended up choosing the spicy hot chocolate, it was very smooth and rich. I remember going to a chocolate history exhibition years ago, where at the end of the exhibit, they let you try hot chocolate made in the fashion of 1800's, and somehow this spicy hot chocolate reminded me of that.
google avatar

Ankita S.

Yelp
If you're a hot chocolate fan and in NYC, you can't miss this place. Their hot chocolate is soo good that every time I come to New York, I buy their mix. Imagine how good would it be drinking it in the cafe. A little pricy but they charge for the taste. So I'd say it's worth it! This is also a great place for gifting- if you're looking for chocolate boxes.
google avatar

Kirsten T.

Yelp
Always stop here when in New York. Had Hazelnut Orange Cake and Spicy Dark Chocolate for dinner - so decadent! And delicious!
google avatar

Christina S.

Yelp
This place is so cute! I always think food / sweets are really good gifts to give people and you can find the perfect ones at L.A. Burdick. Their chocolates are delicious and decorated so beautifully- some are even shaped like mice, tigers, or penguins. A variety of prepared gift boxes are sold in store and ready to be gifted to your loved ones or eaten at home when you want a sweet treat. I really like their fig dark chocolate but really want to try their seasonal Scotch Whiskey chocolate collection. I will obviously be returning.
google avatar

Karen N.

Yelp
Was walking around SoHo and thought we needed a sweet treat. The store is beautiful and the chocolate and pastry displays are breathtaking. They also have a coffee and hot chocolate bar, but only one table to eat inside. Since it was raining outside, we opted for a few pieces of chocolate and chocolate chip raspberry cookie. Both were good, a bit pricey and not sure I would go out of my way to visit again, Customer service was lacking. We were not greeted when we walked in and we were the only customers in the store.
google avatar

Jen L.

Yelp
Incredibly rich hot chocolate- we got the large of the dark hot chocolate and it is exactly what it sounds like- super rich, super good. It's literally drinking liquid chocolate. My friend who doesn't even like hot chocolate proclaimed it to be the top three desserts he's ever had so take that as you will. Definitely closer to European sipping chocolate. Would recommend getting the small since the large is a lot (although it's only $1.50 extra!) would love to come back to try the mice and other desserts

Nicole F.

Yelp
It was a great Black Friday visit in a quaint part of Washington DC. We were greeted warmly by the clerk and the smell of deliciousness throw out the store. I look forward to visiting the store fronts in NY and MA. And did I mention the dark hot chocolate drinks and mini chocolate treats were amazing in every way?!
google avatar

James S.

Yelp
I like the hot chocolate here. It is very creamy and smooth. I do miss City Bakery, however, which used to have different flavors of their great hot chocolate every day in February. L.A. Burdick is one of a few shops doing its part to ensure that high-quality hot chocolate is still attainable. Prices are high but that is to be expected considering the quality and the location. The chocolate does not go on sale post-Valentines Day, it remains at regular price.
google avatar

Jenny N.

Yelp
Was on a self hot chocolate tour in nyc and this was one of the spots on my list! We ordered the burdick blend milk hot choco. It is on the pricey side and the cup is not that big. Rest assured - quality over quantity. This was probably one of the best hot chocolate I've had in my life. It was very rich and not too watered down. I would definitely recommend this place and stop by during the winter season.
google avatar

Adam N.

Yelp
I used to go to the location on 20th & 5th in Manhattan for the incredible single source drinking chocolate. So, now that I'm in Sacramento, I decided to surprise my Valentine with a gift card to the SoHo location as his work trip sent him to the neighborhood for the week. I cannot thank and commend Sarah and their staff enough for how thoughtful and accommodating they were. From my phone call to the next day when he went in, the whole process went off without a hitch. They made my Valentine's Day and my Valentine's Valentine's Day in one sweet swoop! Thank you!
google avatar

Yelp
My most Favorite chocolate shoppe of all time! I'm a customer since this shop was in Flatiron which was over 5 years ago! Now located in a sweet little shop in soho. A European feel with beautiful wood lining the walls and a green and yellow striped wall dressing. They have little lights hanging from the ceiling that looks like sparkly diamonds. They have a little cafe counter where they make chocolate drinks. And the boxes of chocolate lining the wall are pretty as a picture! They also have a section fir baked goods. Let me get to the chocolate! L.A. Burdick is such a special chocolate with a whimsical, almost magical feel. Their signature chocolates are in the shape of little mice and penguins. Dark chocolate with a hint of orange or lemon. When I say a hint, the flavors they add to the chocolate are so subdued and soft but strong and you can taste the flavors very well. They don't overpower the chocolate but complement it so beautifully. The chocolate itself whether milk, dark, or white has a soft and light taste even though the flavor is so deep. Which brings me to the hot chocolate. All 3 flavors separately or mix them how you like (I do a half milk/half dark) the chocolatier will mix you up a decadent, thick, and most luxurious cup of hot chocolate. Please stop in this place for hot chocolate I assure you it's going to be one of the best you've ever had. Please stop in here to sample the chocolate as well and tell me you don't start thinking about it days after!! L A Burdick is not just chocolate but a magical experience! Love! P.S I purchased the new spring box of chocolate. It was beyond beautiful outside and inside, and each piece inside was beyond a scrumptious treat for my taste buds! Beyond worth getting this Box.

Yelp
The dark hot chocolate is fairly bitter and on the thick side. The ginger lemon tea though!! Top three teas I ever had in my life.
google avatar

Wendy H.

Yelp
Cute mini chocolates that work great as gifts. Ordered online for pickup and everything was ready. Had to pay 5 cents for the nice bag, but definitely worth it.
google avatar

Julia K.

Yelp
Chocolate craving, specifically a cakey-type need? Stop here! And rejoice in the perfect cake n coffee pick-me-up! Tiny bummer cause this is a tiny spot: only 5 tables and super close together. Wood bench-type seat is not cozy at all. They will make your coffee (or ah-may-zing hot cocoa, or cold cocoa...!!!) and prep your cake slice and bring to your table. Sweet! Delightful items to take home, or gift, as well. Some seasonal items like choco bunnies or Santas etc. Great first date spot ;). Hopefully my future hunnie reads this haha. TL/dr: amazing chocolate choices in a pocket sized cafe
google avatar

Erin C.

Yelp
Love stopping by this chocolate shop and cafe. Passed by on a rainy day and thought a hot chocolate would be perfect for the mood. Couldn't help but admire the pastry display and picked a slice of the chocolate lemon layer German cake - light, tart flavor complemented by the hard chocolate shell. The spicy hot chocolate was rich and creamy just as I was craving. I also threw in a chocolate cigar which I will enjoy later. The decor here feels so delightful and fits the mood for a chocolate shop. Will be back to try truffles, more cakes and chocolate bars!
google avatar

Jennifer H.

Yelp
Best hot chocolate made with real chocolate pieces. Creamy and thick. Not much seating. So grab and go.

Aleaha C.

Yelp
Came for hot chocolate and was amazing. I got the milk and was so creamy and smooth. I also got a cookie which was amazing as well. I did pickup several of their most popular chocolates and those were was overpriced imo. For me I was unimpressed by the chocolates themselves. Will be coming back for the drink and cookie.
google avatar

Cece R.

Yelp
Great hot chocolate. I got white chocolate mocha which is my usual. However they put nutmeg in it and I am allergic to nutmeg. Normally white mocha does not usually have nutmeg so I did not say anything. Once I told them, they yelled that me for not telling them and blame that it was my fault. I would have them know if it was listed as part of the ingredients on their menu. Plus they did not bother to make sure that their customer was okay.

Yelp
The worst customer service ever. The only reason it even got a star is because their chocolates are good. But if you want to order it for delivery, especially if there is an occasion and you need it on time - DO NOT ORDER! Because with two days delivery (I paid for delivery), it came 8 days later missing the event it meant for!!!! Not only that, because the order was perishable the cookies were spoiled and hard. When I called customer service, not only they were rude, they refused to do refund or redeliver the order.

Yelp
Chocolate heals the soul. A chocolate cafe in New York? Wohoo! Hot chocolate? Check. Seats and tables? Check. It is not very common for a chocolate cafe to exist in New York. Hot chocolate $5.00 for small on a arctic winter cold day is healing the soul. Seating and tables are available but minimal which is a refreshing as it was enjoyable on site without lugging it all the way home possibly damaged and cold. Seating is walk-in pending availability. My experience was enjoyable. Table service is minimal and since there are less than ten seats, by law, restrooms are not required to be provided to patrons. I am enamoured for chocolate bonbons, classic chocolate chip cookies and chocolate cakes. Customer service is attentive. This cafe is a simple but a nice ending to a date night for couples as it is very conducive for conversation. I believe chocolate is a stimulus for romance. I wish there were more chocolate cafes in New York. Mendiants $3, two small milk chocolate cookies which satisfied my taste and healed my broken heart and my broken soul. Single bonbon $1.80, Earl grey tasted lovely. Chocolate mousse slice $5.75, it was a sliver slice but average. I did not feel it was moist. Chocolate raspberry cake slice $5.75, I did not taste any raspberry in this sliver slice of cake and not moist but believed it was lying in the display case all day.

Yelp
L. A. Burdick is partnering with Devoción to create something unique, and unique it is. This is where you get introduced to a fascinating world of decadence, where chocolate is not just a food, but rather an art. Here you can experience some delectable chocolate enhanced by the flavor of the only farm fresh coffee in the world. Their pastries are delicious, but their bonbons are the reason you should come here.My favorite was the Macallan (12-year-old Macallan whisky added to a two-layer interior of dark ganache and pistachio marzipan, enrobed with dark chocolate and garnish with a pistachio). However, they have so many choices it's hard to choose. The Fig, for example (dark chocolate ganache with fig and port wine) is particularly delicious, but you really can't go wrong with any other choice. They take such a great care (and pride) in their products, that it's almost impossible to be disappointed. Their different types of coffee are tasty, but their espresso is out-of-this-world. Sure, it's $2.75 for just a shot, but you won't find a more flavorful, complete, rich and smooth taste of coffee anywhere else. Truly phenomenal. If you want to treat your friends (and yourself) to something special, this IS the right place.
