"Locals know to go to this classic bistro for well-sourced charcuterie boards, excellent wines by the glass, and internationally influenced dishes like duck confit with sesame granola and yuzu kosho. Philadelphians will remember owner Bryan Sikora from his beloved BYOB Django in Queen Village. He opened La Fia before Wilmington’s renaissance began and has kept it going strong ever since." - Ernest Owens, Sarah Maiellano

"Everyone in Wilmington loves La Fia—ask a local for their recommendation and they’ll almost certainly point you toward this cozy bistro. On Wednesdays, they offer a $40 prix-fixe menu which gets you a choice of an appetizer, like a seasonal salad or their signature pork belly dish, followed by an entree of handmade pasta or a nicely cooked steak, plus dessert. Weekend nights are busy, perfect for an unpretentious date night or a fun group dinner." - maddy sweitzer lamme

Visited this restaurant for a birthday dinner and had an overall pleasant experience. Our waitress was exceptionally kind and attentive, making us feel welcome from the start. The service was efficient, with food and drinks arriving promptly. The highlight of the meal was the fig toast, which was absolutely phenomenal – a perfect balance of flavors. I also tried the dry-aged duck breast, which was decent but didn’t quite live up to my expectations. While it wasn’t bad, it lacked the wow factor I was hoping for. Still, it was a nice evening with great service and standout dishes.

After a bad night at a bar down the street with terrible service, we walked into La Fia. Were immediately greeted and sat at the bar. The bartender was amazing and really knows what she is doing. The cocktails were well balanced and beautiful. We ordered the fig toast and duck confit, both were delicious. I will definitely be returning for dinner sometime soon.

Dining is always a full immersion into flavor and details. The Duck Confit is a signature appetizer which every bite is perfection. Highly recommend Wednesday nights Grand Prix menu. Cocktails are well made.

First time here and we all absolutely love everything we ordered. You can taste the home made goodness. Everything was delicious but it didn't leave me thirsty afterward. Sam our waiter was very professional and friendly. Easy street parking and free parking after 6 pm. We would definitely recommend this place and will be back ourselves.

Google
I would give La Fia Bistro more than 5 stars if possible. 5 of us drove from different directions about an hour to enjoy this outstanding Mother's Day brunch. We had a beautiful table next to a bay window. Lauren, our server was the best! But the food stole the show. Delicious cocktails. Best house made scones ever! Wonderful 1st course, especially the crispy potatoes with crème fraiche, chives, and caviar; and the avocado toast. For the 2nd course, the short ribs were the best I've ever tasted. And the spring vegetables with eggs was amazing. The veggies could not have tasted any fresher or more delicious! We are looking forward to our next fabulous meal at LA Fia!!

Google
French restaurant. The only place worthy eating at in Delaware. Totally a different level of food and ambiance compared to all the surroundings. The price is reasonable. The food and plating are stunning.

This place was excellent! The food was just exceptional. The drinks were very good and strong. I had the steak and strawberry salad. The meat was cooked perfectly and the flavor profiles just blended nicely. My wife had the ravioli and again it was excellent. We shared the crispy duck plate and that might have been my favorite that night. It was so crispy and had excellent flavor profiles. The plating was also very fancy and really enhanced the look of each dish. I would 100% go there again. It was a nice location in Wilmington only annoyance was parel parking, but that is a me problem!

Yelp
If you book through Ooen Table be aware it may mean an outside table but they do call back to tell you. When we arrived we were the only ones that would have been outside and asked if we could eat at the bar which we did and appreciated that. The bartender was helpful and his service was great. It did take awhile to get the food out though They have a Wednesday prix fixe option which I did. Started with a salad which was good. Had the branzino-my favorite fish. It was tasty and cooked nice. Ended with the pistachio torte which was also nice. The place is not large so was a bit noisy. Outside seating may be fine but not terribly appealing.

Yelp
Always really great food and I like their wine list as well. Service is usually pretty good in the restaurant and is decent in the bar. Will definitely be back

Yelp
Good food, good service, good price. I always tip extra when I don't have to scan the room to try and make eye contact with my service for a refill or to put in my order or get my check at the end of my meal Fig toast is such a pleasant way to start a meal. Bright and thinly sliced figs on top of a bed of whipped stracciatella. The toast looked way too burnt but actually it was quite pleasant to eat and did not taste burnt. The salty pancetta was a nice twist - made the combination feel and taste kind of like peanut butter Very generous lump of crab meat on the saffron spaghetti. I was intrigued by the yuzu olive oil cake but my date wanted to try the panna cotta - very tasty. Fresh fruit with cream is a great way to end a meal. Dessert was so light and pleasant.

Yelp
We met GF's longtime friend here for dinner during our stay in Wilmington. It was my responsibility to find a dining venue for the event and I tend to err on the side of formative restaurants. I had been to Bardea before so this seemed like another place that was worthy of trying. I was surprised at how small the space is and also surprised that they had no tables to seat our party of three without a reservation but they were able to accomodate us at the bar. There were tables that were empty for the duration of our stay but who's to say what they had planned for that. One thing I do like about sitting at the bar is the availability of attention and the bartender took very good care of us. The cocktail menu has a lot of thoughtful and enticing options. I was debating between two of them and ultimately went with the Naked & Famous (I was thinking initially it was naked and furious but no fury here) with mezcal, yellow chartreuse, aperol, and lime. I watched the bartender prepare it and she did not skimp on the mezcal. It was smoky and STRONG. My co-patrons ordered a "market manhattan" and "who shot JR", both of which were also hefty on strength. They will, without a doubt, give you your money's worth. We intended to order the cheese board but the bartender sold us on the master board with both cheese and charcuterie. We also ordered the focaccia to start which was served with a delicious whipped butter or something of the sort. The board came with 3 cheeses or so and a bunch of meats alongside the standard nuts, honeycomb, and a bunch of dips. The mains are expensive so I was expecting more in the way of portion size than what was provided. Don't think you can eat just a main and be satisfied unless you "eat like a bird" as my mother used to say. They did attempt to compensate with the presentation which was especially lovely in my co-patron's gorgonzola ravioli. I ordered the gnocchi which were absolutely delicious. There was a crispy sear on one side with a soft and lovely inside. I also appreciated the capers which would add a nice touch to even cardboard. GF ordered the saffron spaghetti with crab. I, completely without consent whatsoever, took a nice forkful of that shit and really enjoyed it. The spaghetti is definitely homemade and has a really nice al dente chewiness. We were running out of steam with our gas bagging so we decided to wrap it up at this point but I did note a lovely dessert menu. I like what they're doing here but I think the price point is a touch high for what you get.

Ella B.

Yelp
Lovely staff, small menu but very delicate and elaborated plates Loved it! The place is also beautiful and cozy.

Yelp
Great service, super cute quaint unique ambiance! We went on a Wednesday so a few of the people I was with room advantage of the $40 fixed menu, but I did the a la carte and it was great!!

Yelp
My friend and I went on a Saturday night for dinner. Street parking in the area can be difficult to find but there is a parking garage less than a block away. We shared the octopus and both of us had the tilefish as our main. We had cocktails that were small and strong. Sip slowllllyy! For dessert my friend got the pomegranate cheesecake and I got the chocolate/fudge cake with delicious mousse and a chocolate shell. The crust on my friend's cheesecake was impossible to get a spoon through to include it in a bite (too firm) so she ate all topping and then picked the crust up and ate it at the end. We both agreed my dessert was better. I just wish I had the appetite to finish it. I'd say for those of us that don't get dessert often it's definitely large enough and decadent enough to share! The restaurant is pretty small so for two expect to be at a pretty tight little table but it was manageable (not so small you felt like you'd knock things off the table). The sauce/aioli served with the fish was one of the best bites. I'd put that €%+¥ on anything!!

Brian F.

Yelp
We had dinner at La Fia for my husband's birthday. Because we were a party of 8 and it was Saturday night we could only get a reservation at 5 pm. The restaurant is small but in a perfect way. We started with the cheese board and rosemary focaccia both were wonderful. So wonderful that we ordered more focaccia. We were curious about the grilled Spanish octopus so we ordered 2 for the table. All I can say is WOW, delicious. Entrees included Branzino, Porcini rubbed rib eye, and chicken thighs. All were delicious. Desserts were great too and I tried an Amaros after dinner drink that was recommended and delicious. We were there for about 3 hours and had a wonderful experience.

Lori D.

Yelp
Sadly, we felt a bit underwhelmed after dining at La Fia this evening. It's a small place with a nice ambience, however we had a disappointing experience with our reservation at the hostess station. That aside, I can't say our dishes were better than good. Between those at our table, we had cocktails, the Master Board, the braised short rib, the lamb and sausage, and the halibut entrees. We all agreed that they were good, but not as good as we expected and not as flavorful as we expected - Especially for the high cost of the evening. We went to that specific place as a celebration which we added to the reservation information, but it didn't feel like a special experience. I would not say don't go, but I'd say don't expect a 5 star experience.

Yelp
La Fia is a small cute Italian restaurant located on a cute corner of market street. I love the quaint idea of this place. The decor has lots of dried flowers and live Vining plants. The service was good but I was disappointed that there were no specials. I look forward to things outside of the menu that are only there a limited time. Table bread was served which is always appreciated but the butter didn't taste like anything so it was kind of disappointing. I got a side of Brussels and they were delicious! Not greasy but the perfect amount of crisp paired with cranberries and toasted nuts. The portion was huge for $8! The entrées were interesting. The herb crusted cod was cooked phenomenally and had a mustard Spoetzl and leek purée. This was the perfect pairing and was absolutely delicious! The ricotta tortellini was offered in a half or full portion. Although it was tasty I was surprised that the full portion only had 10 small tortellinis. The cod portion was huge compared to the tiny pasta portion. A bit odd if you ask me! Overall a good but not great experience. The table bread needs to be stepped up a notch and the entrées either need to be repriced or portions need to be adjusted!

Araba N.

Yelp
I loved everything about this restaurant. The building, the decor, the background music, the service, and the food! I got the Aqua Pazza (not to be confused with pasta), a seafood stew with polenta. A+. For dessert, I had the yogurt panna cotta...just wow, the perfect mix of flavors. We didn't get drinks but the bar looked like one that could produce some good drinks. Will definitely return the next time I'm in Wilmington!

Ruidan S.

Yelp
From starters to entrees--everything was full of flavors and surprises. Loved the grilled octopus starters, the agnolotti had great truffle flavors, the steak was just cooked to perfection. We ordered the yuzu semifreddo for desserts and it was great too.

Nv R.

Yelp
Not our first time here and certainly not our last. We went here during restaurant week. Everything we ordered was absolutely delish!!! Our least favorite was the wagyu. The service was good considering there were only 1 or 2 of them serving that night. Ambiance is always perfect. The barstool chairs by the window need to be replaced.

Alex D.

Yelp
This was one the better dining experiences I've had in a long time. The restaurant is quaint and private, overall a really nice intimate ambiance. The food was honestly fabulous the only item I sadly did not get a picture of was the duck appetizer which was honestly my favorite dish if evening: absolutely to die for. All of the other items were delicious; pasta was cooked to perfection and the short rib was incredibly tender. I want to say the flavor profile of every single item blew me away - these are very well curated dishes. Service was also perfect, our waiter was pleasant and attentive. Everything was perfectly timed, and he gave some great recommendations on the menu (we got everything he suggested). The menu changes with the season so while I'm disappointed these dishes are not forever, I'm eager to try some different creations in the future.

Yelp
Just great!!!!!! It says I need at least 85 characters in order for reviews to be printed here. So.... great, really good, enjoyed the place, well served, I liked the atmosphere and the food was....just (insert many many complimentary adjectives you know here) great!!!!

Floyd J.

Yelp
This is a great little spot with good atmosphere and good food. The service was appropriate and the selection of beverages was good.

Ha B.

Yelp
A big group of us came here for a work dinner and had a great time. They had a reputation of making good cocktails and I can confidently say that they lived up to the expectations. Food was good as well but I think the menu was tweaked to accommodate our group. I want to come back and try the full menu.

Carol L.

Yelp
This restaurant makes everything from scratch in house. Some of the dishes were amazingly flavorful. Their were three of us and we tried several different items on the menu, appetizers and entrées that we all shared. The one I liked the least was Lamb. Which was surprising for me because Lamb is one of my favorite dishes. But I found the lamb to be slightly flavorless. The black squid ink pasta was quite amazing and flavorful along with the duck appetizer. They make some pretty decent drinks here too. Overall a really fantastic restaurant.

Esther D.

Yelp
Enjoyed the most amazing dinner here! We had the cheese board which had great cheeses and pickled peaches. Then we had the little gem salad which was so delicious, one of the best I've had. We had the zucchini fritters which was my least favorite dish but still pretty good. The lamb was so tender it fell of the bone. Finally the beef rib entree was phenomenal, some of the best I've had with some interesting pickled grapes. The chocolate hazelnut dessert was to die for with an outer shell and inner whip cream. The cheesecake was pretty good but chocolate was even better. Service was great and it wasn't loud or dark inside.

Trish P.

Yelp
We visited last weekend and are still talking about it. Best meal we have had in a long time. Excellent cocktails, followed by creative and delicious meals. When we heard that the chef was the former Domaine Hudson chef, we were excited! The flavors were well developed and the portions were generous. We wish we had room for dessert.

Charles C.

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurants in Wilmington. The service is always friendly and never feels rushed. They have fun menus that are creative and delicious. It can be a bit pricey, but for a relaxed night out, it's totally worth it. Perfect to celebrate or meet good friends

Kate F.

Yelp
Enjoyed a recent dinner with friends with La Fia. We were able to get a last minute outdoor reservation on a weekday evening and were seated at a table on the sidewalk along the building. We started with cocktails, and everyone seemed happy with their drinks. I ordered the Jameson Smash, which is flavored with lemon and cucumber and was a refreshing choice for a summer evening. We split a few appetizers including the cacio e pepe mixed greens, which was a delicious spin on a Caesar salad, the red snapper crudo, which was excellent, and the grilled octopus, which was good but not stand-out. For my dinner, I chose the gnocchi with broccolini, which was a touch salty but overall delicious. We also tried the squid ink pasta and the moqueca mista, which were tasty as well. It did seem like the portions are small for the cost, even when considering it's an upscale restaurant where smaller portions are to be expected. Our only real concern was that our server was a bit aloof and seemed to be slurring words and acting more and more off throughout the night. We found it entertaining, but I'd imagine it could be off-putting for some.

X X.

Yelp
Food: Well executed dishes and properly seasoned. Service: Lately understaffed. But very thorough and professional. Ambience: great space and feel.

Jo Lisa C.

Yelp
One of the best meals my boyfriend and I have EVER had hands down. The portions are on the smaller size but if you get appetizers and entrees you will be satisfied! I honestly don't have the words to describe how great this food was. I won't be able to find anything else that will compare! Lindsey was our server she was great. The drinks were bomb. Everything A1. Very impressed.

Tim M.

Yelp
This is my favorite restaurant in Wilmington! The chef is very creative so there are always new menu items to try almost every time you I've come. Had the yellowfin tuna small plate and half order of the ricotta tortellini Plus, the staff is super nice and they make great cocktails. Highly recommend.

Cecelia F.

Yelp
Wonderful trend setter for very good food and service. A step above. Small, intimate surroundings.

Danielle B.

Yelp
An all around excellent experience! The establishment is cozy (yes, as in small), has a relaxed yet sophisticated vibe, and is very clean. You WILL be sitting close enough to other people to hear their conversations but it didn't bother us. The service was on point and accommodating to questions and requests. Drinks started with a Stateside Dirty Martini // stateside vodka, blue cheese stuffed olives, olive juice & a Market Manhattan // bourbon, cherry walnut bitters, amaro averna. Both were delicious and crafted well. Our next 2 with dinner were a classic Moscow Mule with a splash of cran and the Jameson Smash // Jameson, cucumber, st. germain, lemon. OMG was the Jameson Smash a winner. I kept stealing sips of it from my husband!! The food was DELICIOUS and well worth the price. We started with the lamb ribs (2 ribs) which was a perfect balance of savory, tangy, and sweet- very creative. The wagyu tartare was yummy and had a mostarda, whipped egg yolk cream, and herbs. I did miss the runny egg yolk and it needed way more salinity. For dinner we had the squid ink spaghetti with rock shrimp, piri piri, sun gold tomato, parmigiano-reggiano, basil oil. The pasta was homemade and cooked perfectly al dente! The seafood and sauce was so flavorful. Decent portion size for the full... I would hate to see what the half-size would have been though. We also had the acqua pazza which is scallops, mussels, clams in a spicy tomato broth, garlic crostini, fine herbs, polenta, charred lemon. This was NOT your ordinary italian seafood stew or cioppino. It was so flavorful and complex while also being light!! This was bountiful and the scallops were large and perfectly cooked. Highly recommend. We didn't need it but I saw dessert drop at the table next to us and couldn't resist (plus I had a good buzz going lol). Hubs got a cappuccino while we thoroughly enjoyed the Lemon Olive Oil Cake // yuzu sherbet, pistachio mousse, orange supremes, candied pistachio. OMG. THE BEST OLIVE OIL CAKE I'VE EVER HAD. Some previous reviews warn of small servings and although we did not have any left-overs, both my husband and I were more than satisfied and extremely happy with our entire experience at La Fia and will happily return in the future.

Michelle R.

Yelp
While staying over one night in Wilmington, we were lucky to happen upon La Fia for dinner. The atmosphere, decor, waitstaff, and bartender are lovely, and the menu super interesting. We ordered a salad, two pasta dishes (so fresh!), some cocktails, and a dessert, all of which were quite inventive and gorgeously presented. It's rare that you come across a place where each dish and drink offers such a thoughtful blend of tastes and textures. I am one of those people who really likes subtle and unexpected flavors, and I was totally wowed by everything we had. It looks like the menu here is pretty seasonal, so I'm excited to see what is on offer next time I'm passing through town.

Brian S.

Yelp
This was our fourth and perhaps final time at La Fia. We had a 5:30 PM reservation and I had requested twice to have an out of the way table. I was told I could not have it b/c there was a larger party which would occupy that space. We were seated promptly and I did note that the back out of the way table only had 4 people seated. Exactly the number in our party. We enjoyed Soups X2, a Charcuterie board, cocktail count was five plus two glasses of port, four entrees and then there were two desserts. The total bill with a 30% tip b/c our server was wonderful was $395.20. We were really enjoying our time when someone from the front came to our table, it was about 8:15PM and asked us to leave! While she wasn't' rude, she was snippy, There were open seats at the bar and frankly, we had seen many patrons come and go over the evening. I was shocked. So, this is why while we love the restaurant, whoever this woman was ruined my evening. I do not know right this minute if I will never step foot in La Fia again,. An apology is in order I feel. If I get one, I will consider spending money here again.

William H.

Yelp
One of the best meals we've ever had. Many complex flavors, reasonably priced, and cozy atmosphere. We'll be back again.

Luke C.

Yelp
I came here with coworkers on a sunny and warm march day for lunch. We were seated outside. The menu for lunch is pretty simple - mostly salads and sandwiches - far less extensive than the dinner I believe. It does get pretty busy at lunchtime, so if you are in a group larger than 4 or 5, you should definitely call ahead to get a reservation. I ordered a roast beef sandwich ($14) which came with fries. Although the menu was pretty simple it did take quite a while for our food to come out - about 30 minutes. The food was good though. My sandwich bread was light and a little crispy without being hard. The sauce inside the sandwich, blue cheese, was strong tasting and it went well with the grilled onions and nutty arugula which were also in the sandwich. The roast beef itself was not too notable. The fries on the side also had the same crispy and light flavor. They were perfect for lunch. They were not too soggy or salty and I did like the green garnish. It felt like they were freshly fried. My coworkers got variations of salads, and they seemed to like it. Note that the salads come in pretty big portions too. I thought that the food and ambiance were good - but the service wasn't too attentive during the lunch rush and also possibly because we were seated outside.

Renee B.

Yelp
La Fia is a cute, quaint spot in Wilmington and worth a try if you are in the area or looking for an alternative in Delaware to larger chain establishments. It seems to be busy for dinner so make a reservation if possible. Some unique menu options... The dates with blue cheese and pistachios were so good! The Poached pear salad was good as well. I would have liked to try the risotto but opted for a salad with sides instead. Maybe next time!

Beth W.

Yelp
My husband and I love La Fia. I took my mom and dad there. My mom and dad love La Fia. I know neighbors who have gone. My neighbors love La Fia. Everyone I know who's been through the door, loves La Fia. If you're looking to try them, they have a Wednesday three course prix-fixe menu for $35 per person, drinks not included, of course. There are many choices for each of the three courses, and all of them are wonderful. There are a lot of great restaurants in Wilmington, but La Fia will always be my favorite.

Michael F.

Yelp
I've had the pleasure of dining at La Fia for dinner twice now. While I'm not close enough to become a regular, I'll happily dine again. La Fia is a clean and well decorated bistro and bakery. You can start with fancy cocktails and end with delicious desserts. Over my visits, I've gone with groups and had the opportunity to try a variety of dishes. On the apps, I've had their Beef Tartare and Warm Medjool Dates. Both "bites" come two per order, but could easily be split to share among four if you're willing to take a slightly smaller bite. The tartare was a nice slice of beef on a potato cake. It served wonders as a light dish. The dates were stuffed with blue cheese and felt a bit heavy, but I enjoyed nevertheless. For firsts, I've managed to test the Heirloom Tomato Salad and the Grilled Spanish Octopus. The tomate salad was fresh and a good portion. I'd say it was exactly what I expected. The octopus was pretty amazing. I'm not going to describe it in detail. I'll just recommend you make it a point to order it! While I've seen and tasted small portions of a variety of entrees, I can only truly review one. The Pan Roasted Moulard Duck Breast is another must-order. The portion was larger than I imagined. The duck was cooked to just the right point and the lime aioli aided it well. I was also happy with the bok choy included on the dish as it balanced well. I'd recommend getting at least a side for the table as well and the mushrooms were on point. I'll end by saying service is solid and their drinks enjoyable. I don't remember the name of the cocktails I tried, so you'll be on your own there. No worries, I'm sure you'll enjoy whichever you end up ordering!

Ciara R.

Yelp
This was easily some of the best food I've ever had. From the start, the small plates- the crispy duck (by far my favorite thing on the menu) and the rigatoni just blew my mind. The flavors and textures provide a great feel and taste. We then moved on to the entrees in which we ordered the steak and the Pazza. Everything was delicious. We didn't care for the Lamb, but everything else on point. The drinks and wine was fresh and had great flavors. Our server was also great and made our time there wonderful.

D C.

Yelp
While the atmosphere was very nice and comfortable the food was just okay. The gnocchi had so many ingredients tossed in that nothing stood out. The duck was far better. We had a 5:30 Reservation and felt like we were being pushed out the door the entire time. I like to support small local restaurants but was disappointed.

Scott M.

Yelp
My wife and I had dinner last night at La Fia. This place is definitely a top restaurant in Wilmington. The decor is a little bit subdued, but I tend to come to a restaurant for the food. I started with the Foie Gras. Truly one of the best that I have ever had, rich and flavorful without being too heavy. The grilled octopus was well cooked and plentiful. I also got the squid ink spaghetti. The pasta was clearly made in house and the crab was plentiful. My wife got the cold seafood platter. We did not love the muscles, but the shrimp, stone crab, and tuna were excellent. My wife also got the pasta special with mushrooms and truffles. This dish was delicious and perfectly balanced. She also ordered the pork chop, which was a bit dry, but still nicely prepared. All in all, excellent food, with good service and a quiet atmosphere.

Mark S.

Yelp
Love this place. They add new things to the menu every so often so always have to make sure I go back often. As long as they keep the crispy duck appetizer on the menu I'll keep coming back!

Jonathan N.

Yelp
We reserved a table on Opentable and arrived a few minutes early. We were seated promptly our server arrived instantaneously, took a drinks order and left us to quietly peruse the menu and was nearby enough to be available for questions. All our questions were answered easily, and the server was flexible and attentive to our needs. Cocktails were delicious and choice of wines/spirits and sparkling wines was not extensive but decent. Atmosphere is lovely. Small enough to be cozy, but big enough to have a diverse crowd. Noise level is good. Both our appetizers and main meals were good (not superb/to die for), but well prepared and presented. The signature octopus was tender, but I felt it could have done with a little more salt and nice squeeze of lemon. Overall - we will certainly be back when we have the time to go out for a meal, and will certainly recommend

Yelp
We enjoyed a very nice meal on a Wednesday evening at La Fia. It's a cool little place with a nice vibe. I've heard quite a few positive remarks from friends that have been there so I thought I would give it a try. Overall, everything was very good and the service was also solid. Food wise, nothing really blew us away and I guess if I had to complain about something it would be that there was only six ravioli on the plate, which seemed like not enough. I think our favorite was the rainbow crudo. Would definitely return in the future.

Yelp
Excellent food and nice cozy atmosphere. I came here on a business trip with a colleague but this is a great spot for a date. We tried a few dishes listed below and everything was very good, seasoned and cooked well. House bread - crusty and chewy outside and light and delicious inside Grilled Spanish Octopus - cooked well and tender Potato gnocchi - so delicious and the gnocchi was so light and airy. The mushroom and creamy sauce was an absolute delight, could just mop it up Grilled skirt steak - cooked medium rare/medium, well season Grilled striped bass - this smelled heavenly straight out of the kitchen and was a light buttery dish Chocolate terrine - not too sweet but had a rich taste Tiramisu - light and soft dessert except the amaretto was a little bit strong but still good Our entrees took quite long to come out after we had our starters but otherwise it was a great meal and we would definitely go back...

Yelp
We took my mom here for her birthday and it was one of the best meals we have ever had. The server Natasha was so kind, thoughtful, and had amazing recommendations. The olive oil cake was out of this world good. So were the Brussel sprouts, focaccia, lamb shank, quail, and gnocchi. The chef here is truly outstanding.

Yelp
This review is for end of February 2020. I wasn't really impressed with this restaurant. We got roasted brussels sprouts, braised lamb ragout, and bucatini. The brussels sprouts were good but the lamb and bucatini were greasy, especially bucatini. They were swimming in oil and I just couldn't keep eating. The atmosphere was nice but the lighting perhaps a bit too dim.

Yelp
Our favorite in Wilmington! Love the seasonal changes in the menu, the inventive drinks and the staff. For our last date night is 2020 we did the Octopus (always in the menu but ever evolving and always perfect!), the short ribs (to die for!) and lamb ragu. And did I mention the wine list and cocktails - thoughtfully curated and inventive. Everything about La Fia is perfection! #itstimewilmde #joeshometown

Yelp
Every detail was wonderful. From the crafted cocktail to the final dessert. We all chose from the pre fix menu. The lamb ribs were meaty, sweet, and savory. The highlight of my meal. My entre, the sea bass was light but well seasoned and cooked perfectly. The cevichi was my husbands favorite. There were three for dinner, and not one item was average. We will be back, soon.

Yelp
Surprisingly I wasn't too impressed about this eatery for a considerable fine dining experience prices was of course steep for the amount served we tried 3 entry dishes which the duck was probably the only thing good even entrees felt as if a teenager prepared the food there was no consistency and the flavors didn't accommodate the meals taste was mehhhh, I was hoping for a great meal but it wasn't and the dessert was a waste of time the waitress was pleasant but the food which is why you go there wasn't the greatest to even return. Oh well...

Yelp
To say the food was amazing, would be an understatement. Everything was perfectly timed and plated. The service was delightful & the ambiance was lovely!
