Modern take on a cantina with craft beer, wine & agave-based spirits like mezcal & bacanora.
"This East Sixth bar serves a standard miche with Clamato, lime juice, tabasco, Worcestershire, salt, pepper, and Pacifico or Modelo. Sip it slowly on its large, dog-friendly patio, which features a taco truck on site, or choose from its fun cocktail list, which includes spicy margaritas and a Oaxacan Wipeout, a combination of mezcal, lime, pineapple, cinnamon habañero, Oaxacan bitters, and ancho chile." - Reese Oxner
"The East Austin bar, from the folks behind Taco Flats, offers up a spicy frozen margarita featuring jalapeño-infused triple sec, as well as the classic rocks style made with Paula’s Orange. Sitting at the bright, modern bar with its collection of tequila, mezcal, and sotol is a fine place to sip on one, as is a picnic table out on the patio. There is also the option to order online." - Kayleigh Hughes
"Drinking in the East Side bar’s outdoor garden feels like you’re in a Mexican backyard; wire fences covered in greenery neatly hem in plain dryscaping, picnic benches, and Texas-hardy plants. The bar specializes in cocktails made from agave spirits, including mezcals. There’s the La Sancha, an icy mezcal-based take on frosé; and Sun & Smoke, a mezcal-based Aperol spritz. For food, sibling restaurant mini-chain Taco Flats operates a food truck slinging tacos and botanitas. There are indoor and outdoor dine-in areas." - Clara Wang
"La Holly is a mezcal, tequila, and sotol bar located far enough down East 6th that you won’t come across too many birthday and bachelorette parties. While the back patio is where you should spend most of your time here, there’s also a long bar inside where you can do a proper mezcal tasting if that’s your sort of thing. There are taco trucks out back too, which means you can basically spend an entire afternoon or night here without having to leave. " - adele hazan, katherine lewin, nicolai mccrary
"The East Austin bar and all locations of its sibling restaurant mini-chain Taco Flats (see above) will show World Cup games with the USA and Mexico teams (though it will not air the November 22nd game). The bar will offer $6 spicy frozen cocktails and $3 Mexican and light beers during those times." - Nadia Chaudhury
