The 12 Best Restaurants in Buena Vista | Eater Miami

"La Martola offers a taste of Riviera cuisine, focusing on coastal flavors from Italy, France, and Spain. Start with fragrant heirloom tomatoes and bluefin akami tuna tartare dressed with Mediterranean gin, citrus, and chives. For mains, try the housemade egg tagliolini al limone or Fiorentina steak. The wood-fired oven turns out Neapolitan-style pizzas, including the standout Portonovo topped with buffalo mozzarella, ricotta, mortadella, pistachio, and orange zest. A well-curated wine list complements the food with sparkling, red, white, and rosé options. The indoor-outdoor space features a minimalist design with natural materials and ceramic artwork by Daphne Leon." - Juliana Accioly

La Màrtola Review - Buena Vista - Miami - The Infatuation

"La Màrtola is yet another entry into Miami’s expensive Italian restaurant arena, which is becoming almost as crowded as our real estate agent community or collection of social media influencers wanted for questioning by the FBI. This Buena Vista restaurant lands somewhere in the middle of the pack. The crudo, pasta, and fluffy pizzas are sort of the food equivalent of TV shows you put on while you scroll. They're not very memorable, but they give your brain something to do while you stare at the blank white walls and fantasize about spending too much money at a wellness resort on the Amalfi Coast. Just don’t dissociate so hard that you don’t notice the flaky salt in the center of the table. It helps give some personality to the underseasoned food." - Ryan Pfeffer

La Màrtola is, without a doubt, one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment we walked in, everything was exceptional—starting with the warm and welcoming service, the inviting atmosphere, and of course, the incredible food. Every dish we ordered was bursting with rich, well-balanced flavors and presented beautifully. You can tell there’s real care and craftsmanship behind the menu. La Màrtola sets a high standard for quality and consistency. If you’re looking for a place that delivers on every level—taste, service, and atmosphere—this is it. I can’t recommend it enough and can’t wait to go back

Chef Stefano at La Martola is a culinary artist. As a New York girly with high pizza standards, I can confidently say—this is the best pizza I’ve ever had. The ingredients are fresh, straight from Naples, and you can truly taste the passion he pours into every bite. I literally dreamt of this pizza until I came back. Chef Stefano himself is warm, friendly, and incredibly generous—he even offered us to try the gluten-free pizza as well, which shockingly was even better than the regular one! From the ambiance to the music to the kind staff & attentive service, La Martola is the full package. Our waiter Mariano was excellent. Do yourself a favor and go. And if Chef Stefano’s in the kitchen—you’re in for an unforgettable experience.

I had the pleasure of dining at La Martola last Thursday, and it was an unforgettable experience. The evening was made even more special by the addition of live music, which created a lively yet relaxing atmosphere that perfectly complemented the meal. The highlight of my visit was their Portonovo Pizza. It was absolutely divine—perfectly cooked with a crispy crust, fresh and flavorful toppings, and a delightful balance of textures and flavors. It’s easily one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, offering great recommendations. The service was prompt and professional, and the restaurant maintained a clean and inviting environment. The live music added a wonderful touch, making the evening feel both celebratory and relaxing without being overwhelming. The combination of excellent food, welcoming ambiance, and entertainment made for a truly memorable night. I highly recommend La Martola, whether you’re looking for a casual dinner or a special night out. I’ll definitely be returning—especially for another Portonovo Pizza!

Google
Simple flavors, big impact. From the aesthetics to the plates, this was the perfect example of less being more. I had the lamb - meltingly tender, fresh, flavourful - the lamb comes with a small serving of ascolana olives & sweet cremini... truly lovely pairing of exquisite flavors. Plus I had to order another side of gnocchi au ragout because one simply isn't enough. Delicate but hearty, 110% recommend.

Google
I had the best dining experience here at La Martola in Miami and I can’t wait to come back for more! I was referred to this lovely establishment by my go-to wine expert and the owner of Vinonueva and I’m so glad he introduced me here. Staff, decor, service, wine selection and authentic crafted Italian flavor palette with the freshest ingredients, everything was 10/10 for me♥️ If you are looking for a quiet luxurious sanctuary away from bustling Miami chaos with the best food, this is the place for you🥳 It was an absolute amazing experience and thank you team La Martola for having me there. I’ll see you all very soon!

Google
We had a great experience! Server was knowledgeable and made good recommendations. We had the pizza, lemon pasta, veggie skewers and gelato for two. I would highly recommend all of these dishes plus the great wine recommendations. I would go back!

Yelp
The food and ambiance is great but I'm giving it 3 stars because every time I go, valet parking is a pain! You have to request your vehicle at least 35 minutes before or else they take forever and are rude. I am so inclined to not come back unless I find street parking. I thought 3rd time would be the charm but apparently not, as I find myself outside waiting once again. Edit: I want to still give this restaurant 5 stars, not 3, because the food and the service are outstanding. But please, do something about valet

Yelp
Ambiance is nice. Good scene. Service was very slow.. Food was average. Not a full bar.

Yelp
Fantastic experience. La Martola has not even been open for a month yet, but it was such a lovely dining experience. I loved the atmosphere, which was reminiscent of Santorini IMO. Everything is white and beige with gauzy linen. The menu is Spanish, French, and Italian forward. There are fun items like chips with ibérico ham and gelato with DIY toppings. It is pricey enough to be considered a special occasion spot but I'd definitely return.

Yelp
- The restaurant is beautiful! Bc it's indoor/outdoor. - love the wine list. I love that all the wines are different, not your typical by the glass list. - bathrooms were very nice and clean - beef crudo- good, light. - blue fin - love the citrus infusion. - chips w/ pata- very good, a lot of chips. - lemony pasta was DELICIOUS, I loved the flavor! - riviera pizza- amazing LOVED the crust! - Greek yogurt- yum! - Dessert was delicious! Ice cream with toppings?!? I'll take it. - Service has been amazing. Everything was very light, refreshing, and delicious. I really enjoyed the experience and would come back.

Yelp
Had the grilled ortara fish and it genuinely looked and tasted like Japanese prison food. Genuinely the bane of my existence the taste was so vile it tasted like a punishment.

Yelp
Love the feeling of the white coastal decor I felt like I was on vacation in the Rivera. We were seated in the outdoor patio, very romantic setting. The grilled orata was amazing and fresh like it was just caught. The tagliolini a lemone pasta was simple and delicious! It was great overall and our waitress was attentive.

Yelp
The service was impeccable. I had the opportunity to dine there a month after they opened. I have to say I really liked the food but the portions were small for the price. We tried one of their pizza's but I felt it was lacking something. Overall a nice place for lunch.

Yelp
Really nice new addition to the Buena Vista edge of Design District neighborhood. The decor is whispy and clean, with a Santorini White feel, although clearly Italian chic. Service is attentive and interactive, and reservations are strongly recommended. The food is creative with a focus on their pizza dough. Although you'll come in for the pizza don't sleep on their wood fired grill for select cuts of beef. The appetizers are delicious with a focus on authenticity of place. The wine list is well thought out and carry many Burgundy and Champagne options. Bring friends, sit on the terrace or indoors and enjoy your night.

Yelp
WHAT AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE from the moment you walk in the door you feel like you're in Europe somewhere.... The wines, ambience & the service were right on point. We went to celebrate our twins 34th birthday and so very happy we picked this restaurant everything on the menu is spectacular and the staff was wonderful!!!

Yelp
Nice little spot in the corner of design district nestled by a neighborhood. Yummy Mediterranean food. Their homemade gelato is a must. It melts in your mouth and the toppings that come with it burst in your mouth with flavor. The only thing I wish is that they had a cocktail menu. But wine will do

Yelp
The pasta was not homemade. You would expect from these prices the pasta to be homemade. Flavoring was pretty good. The pizza was the best part. Although....We waited almost two hours for our pasta to be delivered to our table.

Yelp
We've been here two times now and both were phenomenal. I recommend the heirloom tomato, tuna tartare, any of the pizzas, orata crudo and the grilled orata. We always order whatever the menu special is for our second main Already planning our next reservation!

Yelp
The Food, the wine, the dessert and the service are outstanding, highly recommended. I'll be back very soon because it is AMAZING!!

Yelp
If you want to spend 16 on one tomato on a plate (because it came from a farm) and 36 for a pizza that's mostly all just crust - you will love this place. But if you're actually expecting quality food I'd look elsewhere. Horrible experience

Yelp
I'm hesitant to even post this because it was such a special evening and the beauty of this place (aside from the amazing food) is the ambiance, and want so badly to preserve. From the moment I curiously popped my head in, we were welcomed with a beautiful warm glow, and the friendliest most welcoming staff we've encountered in any dining experience. We were given a quick tour of the restaurant, then seated. We started with a half dozen fresh oysters and a delicious mignonette and the Moderna pizza; oysters were so fresh and the mignonette was the perfect compliment. The pizza was out of this world, cooked to perfection in their imported from Italy oven, with the most delicious cheese, and basil emulsion, every bite was perfect! For entrees we chose the contre-filet NY strip, La Martola frites, and the grilled orata, all exceptionally delicious. The steak was the most tender NY strip we've ever eaten and the grilled orata was perfectly grilled with the most delicious burst of flavor of lemon and mint, the French fries were delicious and the zucchini chips served along side the orata were life changing; sliced perfectly thin, battered and fried to perfection, I could have eaten a bucket full, light crispy and packed with flavor. We finished the meal with their signature dessert, the gelato, which as was described to us, was like eating a cloud. This gelato was out of this world and the accompaniments only enhanced it. Don't think, just go eat here anytime you have the opportunity. We have traveled and eaten at some of the best restaurants, and this was by far the best meal we've had. The food, the staff, and the ambiance were truly perfect and made for an unforgettable experience!!!

Yelp
Food was really good and authentic combined with perfect service Very unusual way of preparing pizza but really tasty

Yelp
La Martola is an interesting restaurant in the heart of the design district of Miami, that brought me back to the simplicity and minimalist elegance and good taste of Sicily. The ambience is simple plain Italian good taste with a combination of white, beige and light brown. The clientele seemed young fancy executives that gave me the impression to be having a wonderful time while wrapping up a busy day. The waiters dress in white linen. the service is detailed, fast and right. the menu is small but tasty. the flavors brought me back to taormina and the Tuna tartare flavor was a reminicense of a trip to the Mediterranean. The wine taste spoke loud about the selection process and the pizza was just perfect. We will be back soon.

Robert S.

Yelp
Terrible experience. I had the bluefin akami tuna tartare, and got sick the next day with food poisoning. Fever, Diarrhea, vomit, restaurant refused to reply or acknowledge they are serving bad fish.
