"Bruno Doucet regales foodies in the Halles neighbourhood with dishes that sing an ode to fresh market and country produce. After titillating your tastebuds with the chef's delicious terrine, dig into pan-fried snails, mushrooms and chorizo, followed by braised chuck steak with a bourguignon garnish or the “famous” rice pudding with a dairy caramel. Fine wine list." - Michelin Inspector

One of my favourite bistro in Paris, nice quality and portion of the food. From starter to dessert I enjoyed a lot and everything was fantastic. Only one thing, service was very slow and they need more staffs to run the restaurant. Only one manager was taking order and dealing with the customers, others only serving food and wine which is not cool at all. I just kept pouring water and wine by myself as no one was available. They should organise and manage better than this as quality of the food is amazing, but service was way too slow and not really attentive. But still I'm happy with this place and manager Kevin did fantastic job, merci!

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious, with every dish perfectly prepared and full of flavor. The cozy ambiance made the meal even more enjoyable, providing a warm and inviting atmosphere. The service was excellent—attentive and friendly staff who really made us feel welcome. Plus, the timing between courses was perfect! Highly recommend!

The food is OK, nothing too fancy. Overpriced for the food and service quality. Arrived just in time for my 22:30 reservation, but I had to wait more than 30 minutes for a table. Unfortunately, my food was pre-cooked, and I could see the kitchen cleaning up while I was still having my second platter.

I recently had the pleasure of trying the terrine at this restaurant, and it was absolutely delicious! That evening, I also enjoyed the specials: Chanterelles and Sweetbread. The flavors were incredible, and the dish was beautifully crafted. I’m curious about how often these specials are offered, as I would love to experience them again. The portion size was generous too, making it a fantastic value for the quality of food. Overall, I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to indulge in some outstanding culinary creations. Can't wait to return and see what other delightful dishes they have in store! Service was very warm like their food, thank you for the lovely dinner!

One of my best dining experiences in Paris! The food is amazing - especially the squid risotto and rice pudding! So special and we truly enjoyed the meal! Thank you!

I found out this restaurant when the first time I traveled in Paris. I have been remembering the soufflé for years, and it’s the best soufflé I’ve ever had. It is still so good, of course, other food.

Google
I remember that I found this place via TripAdvisor the first time I've been in Paris, 9 years ago. Then it's been my regular place every time when I back to Paris.Till today, I still always order the same dishes as the first time I came here. You can see through my photos that they always do the best and how much I love this place!! I'm really obsessed with everything about this restaurant, I don't even know why it's so addictive for me, but as soon as I come back to Paris, I'm 100% sure I'll come back to this restaurant again and again.

Superb food, friendly and generous hospitality. Will definitely add to the list of places to visit on our next trips to Paris.

Yelp
My wife and I booked this for lunch and were not disappointed! It's a sharp restaurant with a clean look, prompt service, and exceptionally presented food. Plus, it is very good!! The menu may be a bit confusing, but our server cleared up any questions. (a la carte vs prix fixe) We started with a complimentary terrine with gherkins and onions which were delicious. I had the Brittany scallops in a pesto and citrus dressing topped with parmigiana reggiano - absolutely amazing! Mains were the braised beef cheeks which were melt in your mouth and a tender roasted veal. The smoothest puréed potatoes and a crispy potato gaufrette were perfect accompaniments. The Grand Marnier soufflé was the perfect ending to an outstanding lunch. I look forward to returning to La Regalade for another lunch or perhaps dinner.

Yelp
This place is delicious! We ordered the three-course meal, which started with a complimentary pâté and bread. To be honest, it's not really my thing, so I only tried a little. I won't go into detail about each dish, but the main course, the pork belly, was cooked perfectly--so tasty and beautifully braised. The soufflé, which originally attracted me to this restaurant, was amazing! However, I do wish it had some whipped cream to enhance the flavor. Overall, it was a great date night, and it's definitely a place we'd visit again!

Yelp
Paris, Adjacent to Opera/9th arrondissement in the 1st arrondissement (5 minute walk from my hotel in the 9th). This is the only place I dined at twice during my 2 week business trip in Paris. 38€ for starter and main (or main and dessert). The first experience with several colleagues, i ordered the foie gras special starter with hints of cacao and pimento and then the sirloin (supplemental 10€). I have only had foie a couple of times, many years ago... I wasn't planning on having foie on this trip, but it was incredible, especially with the cacao accents. The portion was too big for me to finish. Sirloin was excellent. Service was fabulous, loved the modern ambience. A lot of locals were dining with us (at slightly later times from our 7:30 reservation). Second time, on my own: tuna tartare and chicken breast with lemon and herbs, perfect.

Yelp
Quaint restaurant in Paris. A colleague of mine recommended this place. The portions were huge! The decor is very chic. Tables are a bit too close though. Wine selection is on point. Our server spoke English. Overall, a great spot for dinner and wine.

Yelp
My friend and I came to Le Régalade on the recommendation of a local friend and it did not disappoint! We both agreed the squid ink risotto was one of the best bites we had in our week and a half of being in France. The service was welcoming and kind, and we loved the starter pâté. They brought out the full cheese service and explained them to us and the cut our pieces fresh from the board, which was such a nice touch. Would highly recommend visiting La Régalade for lunch or dinner.

Yelp
This place came recommended by my concierge, and it was absolutely spot on! I popped in for a quick lunch by myself and was seated promptly. I was given a translated menu. The food is fantastic here and I would absolutely return. Ambiance is very unique and... cool, for lack of a better word. You won't regret coming here-- the nicest folks working as well!

Yelp
This is a reservation only bistro that appears to be dominated by locals - not touristy. It is still a target destination after many meals at its various locations. The formula remains the same- solid plat choices, extras like the terrine for the table, and ending with good desserts.

Ray T.

Yelp
A local brought us here so you know it is legit. We came for lunch and ordered the set menu which includes an appetizer, entree and dessert. Both the food and service were excellent. The tartine was very tasty and the souffle was awesome.

Uyen G.

Yelp
Very enjoyable restaurant with lively atmosphere. Pretty much all the food we tried was very well seasoned and cooked. I will venture to say anything you order will be some of the best you can get!

Beili E.

Yelp
Food was so amazing! I loved the mango cheesecake! It was my first experience of cheesecake in Paris. Soo fluffy and soft! Servers were very friendly. Ambiance was pleasant.

Mindy L.

Yelp
This was quite simply the most amazing meal I had this year. The service, ambiance, and food were nothing short of superb. We were greeted and sat straight away by Mona, who proceeded to go over each menu in English with us. She provided us with her personal favorites, which we ordered to share as a group of 4. The timing between each course was excellent as we had enough time to digest between starters and mains as well as mains and dessert. The portions of the starters to us seemed larger than the mains but we did not complain because they were excellent! We had escargots, scallops, squid ink risotto with prawns, and veal carpaccio for starters. Our mains were the duck, crispy pork belly, stuffed beef, and codfish. For dessert, we ordered the rice pudding (35 years of perfecting), pear "Belle Hélène", fig cheesecake, and soufflé. I would definitely return on future visits to Paris.

Marc N.

Yelp
Enjoyed the food and hospitality. Left smiling.. thank you and can't wait to be back in Paris

Yelp
This is place is OFF THE CHARTS!!! The best meal I had in all of Paris. I first came for lunch with my family and it was so good we had to come back for dinner. The deviled eggs are TO DIE FOR!! And their signature Pascade is truly phenomenal. The pascade parisienne and the pascade choocolat will hold a special place in my heart forever. The modern sleek vibe of the place along with the excellent dishes make this place truly spectacular. The owner Stephane is passionate about his restaurant and made sure all his customers felt comfortable and were enjoying their meal. My family and I got a chance to speak with him and he truly puts all his passions and efforts into his restaurant and it truly shows. Please please go to this restaurant. I have no one complaint and all the praises in this world for this restraint

Yelp
I don't know what happen in my tongue. Both my app and entree are salty. I wanna try this place so bad and I was very disappointed!!

Yelp
So very sorry I missed leaving a review from our 2019 visit to Paris. The visit to your restaurant, as well as the staff, made one of the best memories of our trip. We think often of the fabulous evening and meal we shared. The staff was over the top accommodating to the American couple who misread the website and didn't make a reservation- we GLADLY accepted sitting at the bar. You were very accommodating to both my broken French, and dietary restrictions as I am celiac. I have found in the BEST restaurants, gluten free is easier to manage as they make everything from scratch. So, fabulous food and amazing service. Merci, and we hope to see you again very soon. I highly, highly recommend.

Yelp
The restaurant serves well prepared fresh food. The food is a solid 4 star but only 1 dish out of 6 was outstanding. The fresh scallops with a simple sauce were fabulous. Neither the pork belly or the braised lamb were great. The fish soup was not very intense and tasted mostly of tomatoes. The wine selection and pricing were good. The service was friendly and efficient. The food just needs to be a little better.

Yelp
We stumbled upon this place right before they opened so we were lucky enough to grab seats. We were very pleasantly surprised by our meal as we enjoyed it very much. The food, service, and atmosphere were all great and I would definitely come back! They have a set menu with a lot of great options. For starters, we ordered the snails (de shelled in a pesto sauce), squid ink risotto (lots of good flavor and texture with squid pieces on top), and tuna tataki (again, great flavors and textures). They were all spectacular! For mains, we ordered the pork belly, cod, and scorpion fish. The cod was good, very tender, and the pork belly had good flavor! For dessert, the rice pudding is pretty special, so I would recommend that! Overall service was really good and attentive and the atmosphere was very friendly and warm. The table next to us was here celebrating a birthday!

Kathy F.

Yelp
The room is very cozy and decor is eclectic. Service is very attentive in a bustling kind of way. We had the 3 course dinner and every course was delicious! Escargot, roasted Cod, Veal shank and of course the vanilla cream dessert! This was a classic French meal and an excellent value.

Yelp
Another amazing meal in Paris! My wife and I dined at La Regalade thanks to a recommendation from a friend and are so glad that we did. Situated on a quaint Parisian street, this restaurants serves up gourmet French cuisine, a cozy atmosphere, and top-notch service for a terrific price (in English or French.... in fact, I think there were more English speakers than French locals when we dined her). One of the things I love about La Regalade is that the menu is prix fixe, which allowed us to sample multiple courses for one great price. The staff even went above and beyond to provide multiple complimentary sides, including unlimited fresh bread, a whole jar of pickles soaked in a leek sauce (amazing taste if you love the sourness of pickles and the bitter-sweet taste of leeks), and pork patty. Regarding that last item, I must say it was incredibly unique. The pork patty looks like a meatloaf (see pic for reference) but is served chilled (that's right, chilled). It has the flavor of sweet pork (that's right, pork with added sweetness) and the consistency of gefilte fish... worth trying for free but not something I'd order an entire meal's worth. By the time we received our entrees, we were already starting to get full from the complimentary starters (and feeling good from the wine). Still, the flavors kept us wanting more. For my entree, I ordered the creamy risotto with squid ink, prawns, parsley-garlic and cured ham. My wife ordered the escargot. Both looked beautiful and tasted even better! For the plat, I ordered the chicken (stuffed with foie gras, seasonal vegetables and beetroot hummus) and my wife ordered the roasted lamb (with veggies and ras-el-hanout juice). Again, the presentation for both was stunning, and the flavors were incredible. I especially loved the beetroot hummus paired with the veggies and chicken, a unique combination of flavors that blended perfectly to create a delicious taste. For dessert, I satisfied my sweet tooth with the Venezuelan chocolate truffle served in an orange marmalade - so good! My wife ordered the cheese dessert plate, perfect for those who love salty/savory desserts. Overall, we loved La Regalade and would definitely venture back here again on a future trip to the city of lights.

Yelp
Sunday they only serve a buffet. We had a massive lunch that ended late and then we had dinner reservations at 7. Just too much food. The buffet was scrumptious and centered around seafood. Salmon and avocado poke. Seared ahi tuna. Farmer pate. Perfectly al dented green beans. Summer sausage. It was a charcuterie on steroids. The chicken entree was perfectly roasted and served with creamy potatoes. We had too much of the buffet and had to pack an entree. The desserts were expansive. Fresh fruit galore baked, jammed, cut up. I had chocolate mousse from a large terrine that I could have easily eaten the entire terrine. Next time we are in France, I am coming back hungry.

Yelp
We discovered this gem by lucky accident several years ago, back when it was known as La Pascade. We were a bit concerned when we saw the name had changed to La Régalade, but happily it is still essentially the same place we came to love. We've enjoyed a number of lovely meals here, and our latest visit was no exception. Our travel plans made it impossible to make a reservation on the day we arrived in Paris, but we decided to try anyway. Steph graciously managed to squeeze us in, and we proceeded to enjoy another outstanding dinner (definitely make reservations if possible!). Dinner was a perfectly-done piece of beautiful veal, and - after some discussion with Steph - a nicely complementary bottle of Rhone wine. The food was delicious and the ambiance relaxed and comfortable - a perfect way to be welcomed back to Paris. Thanks again to Steph and the owner and staff of La Régalade! Highly recommended.

Yelp
Its really 3.5 star but since i am not allowed to give half star i will just round it up to 4 because the food is very good, but my overall experience was just ok. I was really looking forward to come to this restaurant, i made reservation 3 weeks earlier and was already having difficulty to get the days that i wanted. Finally i was able to get the 7pm spot. We arrived at 7pm after a long day of exploring paris and the restaurant was completely empy, then the manager came and said they are not open yet and told us to come back in 10 mins... Fine, i tried not to get upset even though their door was open and our reservation was for 7pm so how could they not let us in. We walked around and went back at 7:15, still we were the only table there, i think parisians eat late normally.. Finally other tables started to arrive, they gave us this really tasty chicken and liver pate, but did not give us small plate to put our bread on so we had to put the bread on the table. then i notice our pate were already served cut up and on a small plate while other tables seems like theirs still in the baking dish... That was strange... Also other tables were given small plate, i was upset at this point.. Then came the food... Squid ink risoto, sauteed mixed mushroom, duck with fois gra and fig, omg flavor explosion!!!! I totally forgot about the bad service at this point! Overall, really really good food but inconsistent service and i notice some tables got better service then others, so i guess you will need some luck when you go there. They are really strict with reservation also so don't even try to go in if you don't have one. I saw a couple walked in at 7:30 for table of 2 but were turned away even though there was an open table and that party didn't arrive until 8:45...

Yelp
Hands-down the best meal we had during our three days in Paris. My husband and I wanted one final meal in Paris at a nicer restaurant walkable to our hotel- after some research we found La Régalade and tried our luck showing up immediately at opening to ask if we could dine without a reservation- good luck for us, they were able to seat us. From the very beginning of the meal we were treated to complementary pâté, special pickles and bread. A delightful older gentleman came to explain the daily specials en français and then to take our order. We stumbled a little with comprehension but we kept attempting to use some French and he was very accommodating. To start my husband had the squid ham risotto which was out of this world. So good you have no choice but to close your eyes with the first bite and be transported into heaven. I had the ceviche which was charming and complex. For mains my husband had the lamb and I had beef in wine sauce. I was given a knife for the beef but it was so tender I barely needed it. It was accentuated with greens and crispy pieces I couldn't identify that elevated the dish from great to fantastic. For dessert I had to order the soufflé because of all the pictures I saw in other reviews. It was light, sweet, and the flavor of grand marnier was a lovely accent. My husband had the cheese plate with two contrasting cheeses - at first he was somewhat disappointed at only receiving two cheeses but when you try them you understand why- both were so full bodied and different that any more would overwhelm the palette. As a complement after the meal we were served two madeleines - a sweet surprise. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience and accommodating two hopeful walk-ins on their honeymoon. If we return to Paris we will return to Le Régalade.

Yelp
I came here about six years ago, and thought it was about time I returned ;-). My bf and I had 8pm reservations, and I highly recommend making a reservation. They have set menus for 41€ which is absolutely delightful. I had squid ink risotto, roasted lamb shoulder, and the souffle with a side of grand marnier. My boyfriend had a poached egg starter, lamb shank, and the same for dessert. We each had a glass of wine- we asked for a recommendation and tried a but before committing to the glass. We got to have some terrine before the meal, which was my initial motivation for wanting to come back. It's a cozy little place with friendly service, I highly recommend to other visitors as well. They have menus in English, but specials are written in French.

Yelp
My favorite meal in Paris and in fact my favorite meal perhaps on our whole European vacation ! Get in here if you can ,, you wont regret it

Yelp
Thoughtful service, experience and good energy in this lovely restaurant. From the homemade pate and pickled onions and cornichons with great bread to the great wine recommendation to the menu, it was all so good. I ordered the special-- monkfish-- for an upcharge which was well worth it. It was perfectly cooked and paired with the most amazing mushrooms and potatoes. The rice pudding with caramel was easily the best I have ever had. Just loved this meal.

Mindy L.

Yelp
Perfect!!! The best meal we had in Paris! Everything was exceptionally good! Even the side dish-mashed potato was the best I've ever had! We ordered from today's special menu. We had scallops with black truffles and foie gras as starters and then we shared the lamb as main dish. The proportion was huge and we could not finish though they were super good. Really recommend this place! It is very close to the Lourve.

Yelp
Stop whatever you're doing, and go to this restaurant...RIGHT NOW! This was seriously the best meal I have ever had in my life. My wife and I stumbled upon this place after a full day at Le Louvre; and THANK the food gods that we did. I don't even know what I had exactly, but in a nutshell - it was ham as an entrée, beef as the main course, and rice pudding that was to die for. My wife had scallops, and St Pierre fish, and who the hell knows what the dessert was. All I can say is that the entire thing, every last bite of it...was amazing. Seriously. It was a bit pricey, but we also had 6 glasses of wine between the both of us. Was out the door for €170...and you know what? I'd pay it again in a heart beat. Hell, I'd probably pay double that. If you think I'm kidding...I'm not. Stop f'ing reading this review and get your American or Parisian asses to La Régalade!!!!! I posted a picture of the specials of the day from when we went. The ham that I had is up top, and the scallops and St Pierre fish that my wife had are up there too. My French language skills suck....but I'm fairly certain it says "This ham is awesome," "The scallops are from heaven," and "St Pierre's fish is better than sex."

Jacky K C.

Yelp
One of the best meals we've had in Paris and it's not even Michelin starred. Lamb shank was awesome. Perfect balance of tender and gaminess. Snails were larger than I had expected. Salmon was great, goes great with sauce. Souffle very soft and fluffy, grand marnier dominating which is just fine. No Michelin stars, no problem.

John L.

Yelp
This was our first "real meal" in Paris so while the recollection of their French names are a bit hazy, the tastes, textures and flavors are firmly imprinted in my mind! Bread Service - Served with cornichons and pate I'm not certain where they procure their baguette from (I heard it MAY be Gosselin though not THE Gosselin on Boulevard Saint-Germain); but, while the texture was damn near perfect, the flavor though, seemed ever-so-slightly off; think traces of dirty water-- off-putting but edible. The pate was also a big disappointment (I was really looking forward to it)-- dried out (as though it were reheated a few too many times) and more than a little gamey. But the one saving grace to the bread service were the cornichons! They were piquant and kept the palate dancing with sweet/savory/tangy combination. Whew. Butternut Squash Soup The second finest soup based on a gourd I've ever had (Robuchon's Pumpkin Soup still king). It was served with a poached organic egg and crispy Jamon Serrano. It was gorgeous; rich, creamy, complex but never heavy or over bearing. Okay..now we're getting serious. Sauteed Shrimp & Squid Ink Risotto Wow! Every single component was immaculately cooked. The shrimp was tender, the roasted garlic WANTED to overpower the dish but never did, and the risotto was textbook perfect (creamy, nutty, al dente but not undercooked). The dish was so delicate, especially considering all the bold flavors involved (another appearence by the venerable crispy jamon serrano here too), but it all harmonized in euphony. Pork Belly Merely a good dish. Not spectacular. The pork belly was not entirely tender and the skin was more chewy than crispy. The flavors were nice but the execution of this dish was a bit amateur. Braised Beef This dish was excellent. The meat (don't recall which cut) fell apart when the fork was taken to it and the deep, rich sauce (OMG that sauce!!) paired perfectly. Rounded out with caramelized pearl onions, crispy onions and root veggies it can best be described as Stick-To-Your-Ribs With Finesse. Loved this dish. Warm Grand Marnier Souffle There is something beautiful, almost Zen, about the proper execution of a classic. Ladies and gentlemen this is the paragon of souffles. The grand marnier flavor was, thankfully, not too assertive and the texture was..well..it was like eating a warm cloud. Rice Pudding I was raised in Miami. I have had better rice pudding. In fact, when I tasted just the rice pudding, I wondered what all the noise was about. "Really?" I thought to myself. "THIS is what they're raving about?" When I poured the caramel sauce over the rice..it all made sense. The caramel sauce makes this dish! The rice pudding itself is good. The rice is a little al dente (not over cooked), but still very creamy. When the caramel is poured over it, though, I can see why the commotion. Next time I'm in Paris I will most certainly stop in again. I implore you to do the same.

Yelp
The best "bang for the buck" we found in Paris. Full review in blog. The first item to arrive at our table was the complimentary loaf pan containing the night's "terrine du porc, veau, et canard" with a jar of cornichons and freshly sliced baguette. Instructed to "enjoy as much as you like" I'm rather certain that our server did not expect two diners of our size "enjoy" the whole thing, but with slice after slice full of meaty flavor and heavy aromatics including onion, pepper, garlic, coriander, paprika, and more it was hard to stop. While the entirety of the composition was not quite as complex or smooth as that at L'Ami Jean, the more charred top layer was absolutely fantastic and when paired with the warm baguette and semi-sweet cornichons it was a great start. Our 33Eu three-course journey would begin perhaps twenty-five minues after seating with "Gambas sautees ail et persil, jambon d'Espagne, risotto cremeux a l'encre de seiche" for my sister. Served in a large both of impressive depth and vastly larger than one would expect for an entrée the base of this dish was an intense creamy risotto tinged with squid ink yet still maintaining its nutty essence topped with an admixture of chopped prawns sautéed in garlic and parsley and crisp cracklins' of Spainish ham. Certainly more "Pan-European" than strictly French the quality of the risotto itself was one of the best I've ever tasted and while the garlic prawns may have been just a bit "too garlic" for my tastes they certainly did not obscure the flavor profile of the other ingredients. For my entrée the day's selection would be one of my favorite foods in one of my favorite styles of presentation-"Oeuf de poule bio facon cocotte, epinard, pointes d'asperges et tomates confites." Delivered in a jar and popped open tableside with the warning that it was very hot, this bubbly soup of poached organic egg in "casserole" was the very picture of early spring. With the smooth and creamy egg plus sautéed spinach forming the backdrop of flavors and crisp snappy asparagus speckling the each spoonful, the most interesting component of this dish was actually the duck fat confit tomatoes - intensely sweet and slightly leathery in texture providing juxtaposition to the otherwise vegetal and subdued flavor profile. With entrees cleared the plats would arrive quickly on their heels as the steady stream of plates from such a small kitchen was a sight to behold. For my sister's selection, "Filet de dorade dries sauvage a la plancha, legumes fins et croquants a l'huile d'olive, emulsion a la coriander et au gingembre" featured an imposing fillet of slightly over-cooked grilled sea bream that none the less flaked apart nicely and had a great flavor. Topped with bitter greens and resting on a bed of pine nuts and snappy vegetables including tomatoes, peppers, asparagus, and zucchini poached in olive oil the dish was finished with an aromatic sauce of coriander and ginger that although tasty was also slightly overwhelming of the fish. Although "Margret de canard epais roti sur la peau, petites pommes de terres roties au jus de viande" was perhaps the most straight forward item on the menu it was also very well done. Yet another sizeable portion with the honey lacquered skin fatty and supple and the flesh pink and moist the flavor of the duck was quite good while the roasted fingerling potatoes intermingled with fibrous mushrooms in beefy gravy were a nice savory contrast. For dessert, just when you thought my soufflé fix would have been satisfied, Le Regalade offered a version of their own entitled "Souffle chaud au Grand Marnier." For the third time following the assumption that if a little is good a lot is better, this towering soufflé arrived tall and teetering, a mountain of white topped with a snowfall of confectioners' sugar. Simple, sweet, steaming hot, and punchy with notes of cognac and orange it was a classic done well and compared to previous experiences with Gran Marnier soufflés it was understated-a good thing for someone who doesn't fancy too boozy a preparation. Furthering her newfound love of Rice Pudding that began at L'Ami Jean, Erika's dessert selection arrived in a latched jar and although I cannot be certain my gestalt is that pound for pound the portion may have actually trumped even that served to us by Jego. Titled "Riz cuit au lait et a la vanilla comme le faisait ma grand-mere, caramel laitier," and served with a liquid salty caramel so buttery that it put those at Jacques Genin to shame, the pudding itself was thick, toothsome, rich, and heavily accented with vanilla. Again with the wooden spoon working slowly it was once again to our waitress' surprise when she arrived later to find the jar empty and both of us smiling in a near comatose state. To be completely honest I can't say whether the pudding at Jean or Regalade was better - but I'd gladly do a blind taste test again if only to have another chance to taste both once more.

Yelp
In short, the food at La Régalade Saint-Honoré is pretty bangin'. For dinner, they offer a €35 three-course prix fixe menu. Given the high quality of the food and fairly generous portion sizes, the dinner here was the best bang-for-your-buck meal I had in Paris. To start off, the waitress dropped off a complimentary pork, veal, and duck terrine, accompanied by cornichons and sliced baguette. My hunger, combined with the fact that the fatty, porky terrine was just so delicious, propelled me to polishing off nearly half of the terrine before my first course had even arrived. My first course, "Gambas sautées ail et persil, jambon d'Espagne, risotto crémeux à l'encre de seiche," was essentially a garlicky squid ink risotto topped with shrimp and Spanish ham. I'm not one to shy away from garlic, so I really enjoyed the intense garlic flavor permeating this dish. The risotto was perfectly creamy as well. I knew I had to order duck at least once while I was in Paris, so for my second course, I went with the "Margret de canard épais rôti sur la peau, petites pommes de terres rôties au jus de viande." The duck, cooked to medium-rare perfection, was extremely tender and juicy, but the skin wasn't as crisp as I would have liked. The bed of roasted potatoes and mushrooms were really good, too. Descriptive, I know. And for dessert, I opted for the "Soufflé chaud au Grand Marnier." Arriving at the table as a towering mountain dusted with powdered sugar, the piping hot soufflé was delightfully light and not at all too sweet. I haven't had very many soufflés in my life, but this was what I would expect a perfect soufflé to be. Complimentary madeleines, golden brown and buttery, were the perfect end to a great meal. All in all, La Régalade Saint-Honoré's three-course prix fixe menu offers a tremendous value. Great food and attentive service -- I will certainly come back here the next time I'm in Paris.

Yelp
I would say 4.5 stars because we had a reservation and literally was the first customer arrived, but still, we got seated in the back on a shared long table. Other than that, service was good, food was fantastic. Bread with the rillette spread for starter, snail the appetizer, pork belly for main, and baba au rhum (Rum cake) for dessert. The rillette spread was shockingly good. Something I never expected and not on menu. Gives you tasty but not overwhelmingly oily feeling when the fat melts in your mouth. Snail had a good texture with decent spinach based pesto sauce. Pork belly was cooked very carefully and glazed at surface. Especially the skin (or just the top) was fried like crispy bacon to give you chunky chewing texture while providing a little bit of sweet charcoal smell. Baba au Rhum had fantastic passion fruit sauce. Souffle on the other hand, wasn't what we expected. It had strong alcohol flavor and not much sweetness. Duck fillet was something behind my imagination. It's duck, but it tasted better than most of the steaks I ever had. Overall it's highly recommended. Make sure you have reservation because the place was filled within 15 minutes or less after open. Not sure if they all had reservation or not. After the whole set, 39 euros is not that expensive. For its quality, I can see it survives at nyc for over $70.

Yelp
I had a really good dining experience at La Regalade. Good bang for your buck, reasonably priced and great service. The most memorable part was sampling all dessert items on the menu (we had party of 8) and they were all delicious! From cheese platter to rice pudding and souffle to chocolate soup with cardamom. I was delightfully a happy camper. Check out pictures. See for yourself!

Yelp
We came back after 4 years, and this place is STILL THE BUSINESS! It's a great deal, great service, and hefty portions. We dined with a ton of locals, so there's your validation!

Yelp
Incredible, everything, service, good, wine, just a fabulous experience. Squid ink risotto, fish, rice pudding, one of the best meals in Paris!

Yelp
Great little place I stumbled upon walking around that area. I was dinning alone and told my server just chose for me and they did not disappoint. Highly recommend!

Yelp
2nd night in Paris and more delicious-ness. Made a reservation online for 7:15pm, place was empty since Parisans eat late. Had the fixed price menu for 41euros (such a deal) - starter, main and dessert. Started with self-serve pate (go easy, save room for main dishes). The escargots were delish with a parsley and garlic sauce. The squid ink risotto was tasty with lots of shrimp! Mains were the crispy pork belly with canelli beans and roast lamb two-ways with cous cous. Both excellent! Finished with light rum cake with whipped cream and kiwi/mango pieces and creamy rice pudding with caramel sauce. The burgundy and malbec went well with our mains!

Yelp
Needed to book a reservation but it was well worth it. The squid ink risotto and the cod were some of the best dishes I ever had! I highly recommend coming to this restaurant if you are in Paris.

Yelp
We got lucky and were able to go in for pre-fixe lunch on a weekday without a reservation. Our favorites were our main courses: scorpion fish in a delectable foamy shellfish broth and seabass in a crispy shell (like an egg-roll wrapper) with olives and vegetables. I thought the big hunk of pate, pickles, and bread they presented to us before our starters was a generous gesture even though personally I didn't care for it (just not my thing, husband enjoyed it though). For dessert, the souffle was impressive looking but we both loved the rice pudding and caramel sauce--just fantastic! The portion of pudding for a single person was gargantuan and jaw-dropping. Not sure if they do this for effect, but seems a little wasteful. They even give you madeleines with your bill, as if you have any more room left after how well they feed you here. The service was kind and friendly from start to finish. As tourists, we appreciated their patience in translating for us. If you are looking for an upscale, skillfully prepared French meal with a casual and non pretentious atmosphere, this is the place for you. Definitely one of our highlight meals in Paris. Highly recommend!!

Yelp
The best restaurant in Paris (for the money). OK, you can probably dine better at Taillevent (or similar) if you're willing to take out a second mortgage. Or you can come to La Regalade (we dined here twice in one week) and enjoy delectable fare including squid ink risotto with truffles, pork belly and a classic souffle with Grand Marnier. When we visited the original (less centrally located) La Regalade years ago, I do believe they were more generous with the complimentary pate that every table gets as a starter. At that time, I think you would get a plate and you would be able to slice off some from the loaf of pate and keep it on the table to nibble throughout the meal. Alas, no there is no plate. So just wolf down what you can while you've got the opportunity. Pile that pate onto the toast they provide. Because once the appetizers come, the pate will be whisked off the table forever. (Or at least until your next visit.) On the other hand, it's probably good that there's a limit on the pate. With unlimited pate, you might be prone to stuff yourself dangerously full. The pate limit is therefore a blessing in disguise - letting you enjoy the subsequent three courses to the utmost with your appetite not overwhelmed, but rather pleasantly sated.

Yelp
I trust Yelp reviews more than I trust my mother (sorry, Mum) so the fact this currently has a 4.5-star review said a lot to me, and it didn't disappoint. This is easily the best dining experience I've had in Paris. I was so excited that I was able to walk into the restaurant just before 5pm and book a table for that evening (Wednesday). There is a fixed price menu, but don't let that mislead you. Basically it locks you into three courses but there's a lot of variety in the courses. We had a party of three and we all had very different things, and the specials menu added something different to the experience. Ordinarily I'd talk about the food here, but there's no point. All three in our party had very different things for our three courses and all of us loved them. The restaurant isn't big which is perfect true personal service. We didn't feel neglected. As English speakers (primarily) the staff were excellent at explaining the dishes. I can't fault the experience so I'm going to shut up now.

Yelp
INCREDIBLE MEAL. From start to finish, everything placed in front of us was outstanding and packed with flavor. Scallop appetizer made us sad that there were only a few of them. Squid ink risotto was amazing, and don't be shy of trying it - we didn't even realize it was squid ink till we thought about it, and it does not taste fishy at all. My husband and I split the pork belly entree, as well as the beef bourguignon style entree and both were just delicious, perfectly seasoned. The meat could not have been cooked any better. Grand Marinier souffle for dessert was was light and airy with just the right amount of sweetness. An apple tart dessert was also to die for with a delicious caramel whipped cream on the side. I have absolutely nothing to pick apart, there was nothing that could have been better. The meal was perfect. We felt like we should have paid double the price for what we received.

Yelp
There's been so much fanfare and hype about this new restaurant location that we were quite excited to go and check for ourselves. We were 4-people, all seasoned "foodies" -- two had been many times to the Le Regalade in the 14eme and liked it. I did my homework, and found a very "mixed" bag of reviews. But with an open mind we entered anew. The atmosphere was quite minimalist, with the exception of red hanging pendant lights and tall ceilings, it lacked any real color or charisma. I felt like donating a few "modern" paintings to give it some soul, oh well. We were treated with a complimentary glass of white wine of L'haurault. It was quite refreshing and excellent since it was quite a warm evening. We checked out the specials, but I already knew what I wanted, since they're known for the poitrine de porc (literally means porc chest, but often referenced as porc belly). As we ordered our courses, yes including desserts, we were given a terrine de volaille, it was about half- filled, so the other half I'm assuming had already been eaten by a different table. It came with cornichons, pickled peppers and bread. The bread was stale, and we didn't even really have a chance to taste the terrine, because right after it was placed on our table, our entrées were ready to be served. Luckily we each quickly got a slice of the terrine and put it on our bread since there were no plates, just in time before it was whisked away, whew!. So much for savoring the terrine. Note: a new basket of bread came, and this time it was rubbery. Perhaps to preserve it's freshness it was wrapped in plastic, hence, causing it to have a rubbery texture. For Paris, this is not a good sign, if you can't even get the bread right. We ordered a red, Domaine La Tour Vieille Collioure, I have to say it was not good, so I watered it down to make it more palatable. But we don't blame the restaurant, we took the blame for not asking for a recommendation and/or selecting a better bottle. 3-of us had the Poelée de Girolles a local mushroom. It was OK for me and the two others liked it alot. The poached egg when broken gave it a nice yellow tasty creamy saucy substance. I realize mushrooms should never be washed, but brushed, but mine was inordinately gritty. I was the only one that felt that way. The entree was interesting. One of us had the salmon, it was just OK, but not really inspiring. Then the piece de resistance, the poitrine du porc. It was EXCELLENT. Nicely braised with a lot of good flavors and it had a nice crispy skin. I think I died and went to pig heaven. It was served on a bed of lentils. Although this dish traditionally served with lentils, I would have liked some greens with it as well. Our companions told us at the 14eme restaurant they served the poitrine on a bed of greens, I would've much preferred that since the combo was just too rich and heavy for summer, and we're no longer peasant people needing to store fat for the winter. The cabillaud fish was good, but it too was just not inspiring. Dessert came, 2 had the Rhubarb, fraise compote. One had sliced strawberries with cream. The presentation was quite sloppy. It looked like a 4-year old had an art project and piled a bunch of Jello pudding and whipped cream into a glass. I was told the taste was nothing spectacular either, very plain and uninspiring! I had the cheese plate, but I was so filled with lentils, I couldn't take a bite. I had just come back from reviewing "Incanto" in SF. A well known "all pig" kinda restaurant. So, I had a pretty good comparison when a restaurant does it right with somewhat the same ingredients. Net-net on our experience, what's with the hype? With the exception of the poitrine de porc and the service, the food was very uninspiring. Some like the minimalist look of a restaurant, but if you're touting that you're spending less on decor and more on the food, than show us the goods! There's too many other choices, so I will probably not go back.

Yelp
La Régalade was the culinary highlight of our vacation. I'm happy through research I found this restaurant and reserved well in advance, because it certainly seemed to draw a crowd. The staff was friendly and attentive but unobtrusive and never made us feel rushed. The food was flawless. There was nothing overly ostentatious, just good ingredients, well seasoned, cooked perfectly, and presented beautifully. Between my wife and myself, we had 6 different plates, and I cannot think of a negative thing to say about any of them. I know the restaurant is currently listed as a Michelin Plate restaurant, but I really felt the quality of the food and experience was equal to the 1* Michelin restaurants we've had. This was truly a great way to enjoy our final night and Paris!

Yelp
This is possibly my favourite restaurant in Paris. The original one, in Alesia, is more basic, this one has a more refined decor, but they both create some of the best food I had. Few dishes to choose from, but the menu is always different and ingredients the best of the season. Meat is cooked to perfection and desserts are to die for.

Yelp
I'm just going to go straight to the point here. There are a ton of restaurants, brasseries, and cafes in Paris. We were there a week and we went to a few places and let me say that not all French restaurants are created equal. Some, like Le Regalade, remind me why the French are so good at what they do with food. A small restaurant that definitely needs reservations, the menu [at least when we were there] was all prix fix. €33 pp without drinks. Trust me, for a place like La Regalade, that is a bargain. BARGAIN. Sure, with wine/cocktails, you're probably looking at €50pp easy, but you're getting 3 courses and even with the exchange rate the way it is with the USD, it is worth every damn penny. Here in the States, that meal would have been $60 to $70 USD pp. Easy. Every course was cooked to perfection. The pate you get with the bread was unbelievable. The pickled vegetables with the bread and pate marries rich with some acid to cut through the richness of the liver. It gets very busy and they were turning away customers without reservations. By the time we left [9:30PM], there was a line out of the door waiting for 2nd seating. We were all over the place in Paris and I never saw that. Make that reservation before you go, but go you must to La Regalade. Some advice for fellow travelers: If the menu is only in French, just walk in and get a table. It'll be good. Not to say that other places with English translations isn't, but of all the meals we had in Paris, we were never dissatisfied with a restaurant with French only menu - especially a place like La Regalade.

Yelp
If I could give it 10 stars I would. There was a mixup with the reservation but the manager worked it out and we were able the get seated right away. He gave us a glass of wine to make up for it and all was good. We had the ravioli and the risotto. The risotto was superb. We also had the pigeon and the pork belly, which were perfection. The rice pudding and the soufflé are a must, you won't regret it. Overall this meal is what contemporary French cooking is all about. A masterpiece.

Yelp
Revisited the place over 7 years after my first visit. Still as good as I remembered it to be, especially the headcheese that's served with the bread at the beginning. The place has moved and is now in a more rustic and bigger space.
