La Rosticceria at Eataly Review - Magnificent Mile - Chicago - The Infatuation

"Eataly is two floors of Mario Batali approved goodness, from cookbooks, to cookie cutters, to a Nutella stand where we’re pretty sure you smear the hazelnut-chocolate spread all over your face. And in the midst of all the craziness is a panini stand on the first floor. But f*ck that panini stand. For the best sandwiches at Eataly, and generally excellent sandwiches, head upstairs to La Rosticceria stand, which is Italian for The Rosticceria stand. You might be familiar with Baffo, La Pizza & La Pasta, or La Birreria at Eataly, but you could easily pass La Rosticceria not realizing what it offers. And we wouldn’t blame you for that, because the place as a whole is overwhelming at times. But the sandwiches at this little counter are worth going out of your way for. The meat spits behind the La Rosticceria counter aren’t just for show. It’s the birthplace for the protein of the sandwich you’ll eat. Whether turkey or prime rib, it’ll roast low and slow, so flavor is packed in before getting sliced up and placed on a roll. Since the meat cooks on the spits in front of you, it means there are only two options every day. Prime rib is always available, in addition to seven different specials that each own a specific day of the week. Most are pretty basic, but with quality meat, great bread, olive oil, sea salt, and pepper, basic is all you need. So trust us when we tell you to pick up one of these sandwiches any time before 7:00pm, seven days a week. And then grab a jar of Nutella on your way out. For your face. Food Rundown Prime Rib The specialty that’s available daily. Porcini-rubbed prime rib is sliced up on a large roll with extra virgin olive oil, sea salt, and black pepper. So simple, so good. There’s never a bad day to get a prime rib sandwich. Fennel-Rubbed Turkey Breast Saturday’s sandwich, and hands down our favorite. Don’t let turkey fool you by sounding boring. It’s juicy and perfect and we can’t get enough. Also served simply with extra virgin olive oil, sea salt, and black pepper. Braised Brisket Meatballs The weekends are a time to get a little wild, which is why this sauced up braised brisket meatball sandwich is available on Fridays. Brisket meatballs are great meatballs. Porcetta Porcetta is a strong move if you’re into fattier meats. Check out the rosemary, garlic and fennel-rubbed pork loin wrapped in crispy pork belly that’s available on Thursday’s, or a similar version that’s available Sunday too." - Sam Faye

Google
If you are looking for Subway Italian sub, don't come here. If you are looking for food like you ate in Italy, this will take you back to there. All the meat is authentic from Italy made with quality ingredients and doesn't need sauces, condiments etc to taste good. You taste the meat, you taste the fresh mozzarella, you taste the authentic bread, the fresh vegetables etc. Ridiculous that people are giving this place one star and complaining about the price. Across the street Gordon Ramsey is selling $38 hamburgers lol! And yes, focaccia is exactly supposed to be spongy and covered in olive oil, the stuff you buy at Trader Joes is not real focaccia. If you have eaten and love the food in Italy, Eataly is worth coming to and reminiscing about the fabulous food and wine you experienced there.

The half rotisserie chicken is prepared. It's probably stored in the cooler waiting to be ordered and heated in the oven along with the side order either baked potatoes or brussel sprouts.. Is the chicken taste better than Costco chicken? I don't know , it could be a close contest. The chicken is so dried, I couldn't finish it.

Google
Tried the tradizionnale (prime rib sandwich) with added provolone. The panino was good, the cheese added a lot of flavour and it was filling. Overall a bit dry as it lacked sauce or more olive oil and the beef was a bit too well done for my taste. A bit overprice and waiting was about 12 minute after order on lunch hours

Google
The sandwich we had was really good. The arancini was okay. But the sprouts were rock solid & inedible, they also had mustard in them without mentioning so that's not great. There is a lot of choice here, if you're after a sandwich then this is good, but I would look around for anything else.

Google
Salad was terrible and sandwich was dry. Over priced and not great

Google
I ordered the Prosciutto Cotto Panini and I loved the tenderness of the meat as well as the crunchiness of the bread on the outside and the softness on the inside. Service here was much better than service at other places in Eataly, but could have been better as well. The atmosphere is pretty cool, I like the food court feel of all the different italian places and it’s definitely super cute! Also shout out to our server Miguel for being one of the nicer servers my mom and I experienced in Eataly today!

Google
I don’t know why all the hate. We were skeptical to try it out because of all the negative reviews, but boy was I glad I did. The size of the sandwich we got was pretty decent, we ordered the procioutto and it did not disappoint. It was warm with melted cheese, very good. Now don’t get this wrong, this is just for mid night snacks in my opinion. I did not try the roasted chicken or the other more prepared meals, I just went for the sandwiches and those I do recommend.

Google
Incredibly overpriced for what you get. A whole rotisserie chicken, split into two boxes and a side of potatoes, with tax and no tip is $29! (9/24/2021) Chicken was so dry that I ended up tossing most of it. I have Celiac so chicken and potatoes were literally my only option for a meal. Menu isn't labeled as far as what's gluten free and what isn't, which is ridiculous. They had already run out of many of the fried items by 8 PM that people in line ahead of me were trying to order. Before I had my Celiac diagnosis, I've tried their fried items, which were just meh.

Yelp
Service at the place was great. I enjoyed the company of the woman at the front. I ordered the prosciutto cotto which looked the best of all their sandwiches. I like thin crust. The sandwich itself was $17. A premium but for the quality of the meats and the cheese combination. It's a wonderful curiosity I wanted to try and was not disappointed. Interior is rarely inside the mgm casino. Beautiful surrounding and amazing decoration on Christmas week. I enjoyed the flavors although a bit salty. It was kind of like a ham sandwich with very thinly sliced ham and a provolone cheese to compliment the saltiness of the dried ham. Grilled like a panini and tasteful although the price was very high for what you are paying for. Of course there are way way worse value but me and my mother seemed to enjoy the texture and flavors that came with this meal. I recommend to try it and if you're hungry it is a recommended place I would try given how busy Vegas is. This place practically had no line and I was satisfied with that. The quality of Italy in a nutshell if you will. Enjoy! Happy holidays

Yelp
I unexpected had an open solo day in Las Vegas and could decided on where to go to get a quick bite. I was close to the MGM Grand and a very dear person to me suggested I go try out Eataly. She has a deep love of Italian food, so when she suggests a place, it's usually an easy decision. I was glad when I walked through the door that I was greeted with an Italian I poured ambiance and that the layout was closer to a food court than a traditional restaurant. After making my way past pastry, crepes, gelato, and pizza and pasta options; I found myself at La Rosticceria. A display of Italian street panini sandwiches can be seen through a glass display and they felt like they would hit the spot. I ordered the Prime Rib Tradionale with the provolone cheese add on then grabbed an open seat by the railing overseeing the dessert area that I passed walking in. My panini was ready roughly 10 minutes later. The sandwich had a nice crisp to it, and the prime rib inside was delicious. There could have been a little more prime rib and provolone added, but it was still a decent sized panini. I ate half of it and took the other half back to the hotel. It's definitely bot a full meal, but if you want a quick bite that's pretty good, I would recommend trying this panini.

Yelp
It's a great place because of the service. But the food? lol. It's way past due. Stale and all things U.S. Foods or Sysco delivered. I paid a lot of money for nothing. Don't make my mistake. Eff this place.

Yelp
This 3-star rating of mine is largely because of the not-so-great service I received. This is part of "Eataly" in Park MGM. The concept of having more than several different vendors where the entire space serves people as a free range food court resonates with me greatly and yet this vendor can do a better job in customer service. The lady who took my order (it wasn't just me; she was the same way to others) was unfriendly with no smile. We all have good days and bad days in our mood so maybe she was having a bad day. When she was conversing with her coworker though she was laughing and smiling. Well, she could have used the same laughter and smile when she assisted the customers. The food tasted fine with no issues (at least.) I had the Frittata Pasta and the Brussel Sprouts. I enjoyed them. This place currently has 3 stars and I simply joined others today to echo the same sentiment. I haven't read their reviews but I can only guess as to the reason why they are where they are. Still, it's not a horrible place to get a bite to eat. At least my food came out quickly.

Yelp
Omg! This may have been the BEST sandwich I have ever eaten. The Chicken Milanese was so light and delicate, yet it sang an opera of flavor. Yes; Lord YES!
google avatar

Kris D.

Yelp
It started when the cashier asked for a tip before even offering service LOL. The sandwich was very large and filled with a lot of meat. Unfortunately that is where the positives end. The sandwich was dry, bread dry, meat was just ok. I like how there is a lot of space to sit in a pretty much open area. Service was so so.

Yelp
The sandwich place La Rosticceria, located at the MGM but has also a external sidewalk facing entrance. The ambiance is that as expected of a sandwich eatery, simple stools and tables, I was able to quite easily find a seat, but as it might have had something to do with the after lunch hours I visited this place at. Service speed was good for a sandwich eatery, I didn't have to wait overly long for my sandwiches. But the sandwiches. Sandwiches were mid at best, with the amount of amazing places around them, it's really hard to justify a second visit. If I wanted another quick sandwich I would choose to be elsewhere. The meats in my sandwiches were a little salty in terms of flavor, and really lack anything special that might stand out in the amazing place that is the Las Vegas strip. The bread wasn't all that great as it fell apart in places. It's alright for a quick eat, but really there are many more amazing places in the Vegas strip.

Yelp
Would I eat here again is the most important question? Probably not, there are too many phenomenal places in Las Vegas! I had the shaved beef, it was well flavored but very fat and cold. The brussel sprouts were okay, but I honestly didn't eat too many because they were brown inside look rotten. I was totally looking forward to the polenta frita, however it was very bland, so I was quite disappointed. Just keep walking, unless you're seeking out mediocre.

Yelp
Eataly itself is a tourist galore. It's vivid, welcoming and feels authentic. At la rosticceria, the menu was insane and everything looked so good (the model food). We got a Prosciutto Sandwich ($13, 2022) and fried polenta ($11). Sandwich: probably the worse food I've tried in Vegas. The bread was cold and dry, the prosciutto was crusty and the jam sauce was sour. The polenta tasted like actual fried cardboard and had this grain-like texture to it. Get yourself some wine at eataly and explore elsewhere

Yelp
This is located inside of the the Park MGM but has an external entrance and is open to the public . The sandwiches are so so good. I ordered the Cotto latuga e senape; its on focaccia bread and has prosciutto, lettuce and mayo..super fresh!! The focaccia bread was so soft and fresh I ended up going back the next day to get another. I deducted two stars because the staff is extremely rude. I was attempting to ask a question to the young lady that was writing the menu on their board and she was very short, snappy. I've never experience anything like this. The cashier was also very rude (a lady) . They are in dire need of customer service training .

Yelp
I had calamari. I had fried mushrooms I had fried chicken sandwich. It was all extremely good. Very very tasty. I recommend to everybody give it a try. You will not be disappointed. Absolutely delicious.

Ricardo S.

Yelp
La Rosticceria is located inside eataly, an Italian food court. If you don't have one in your town definitely worth a visit it's very clean and each location is on par with their items sold. Service was prompt and friendly especially the workers cooking and handing out the orders. The chicken cutlet was warm but still very crispy. The bread was soft but nothing special. The arugula was fresh tasting and paired very nicely together. The best part was the basil aioli, super creamy and earthy flavor brings the sandwich together. If it wasn't for the aioli would of probably given it a 3. Give it a try they also have other cold cut sandwiches.

Yelp
The best best brussel sprouts in the US! Omg, there was absolutely no oily feel, no cheese and the taste and texture were extraordinary. I just loved and enjoyed every bite of this. Highly recommend this place and especially for their vegan friendly roasted Brussels!

Yelp
Located at Eataly at the Park MGM hotel casino. On Tuesday we were cutting through the Park MGM on our way to the tram. On route their sandwiches caught our attention, and our eyes bulged wide. Ooh looks so delish. But we had lunch plans already. But we kept this in the back of our minds. Thursday night we decided on a light dinner before the Silk Sonic concert. We still had the panini sandwiches on the brain. We got in line around 5:45pm. It was just starting to get busy. We perused the paper menu. We went with the porchetta & the cotto lattuga e senape paninis. Of the six paninis these two were the only two served room temperature. The other four paninis are served warm. You order & pay at the counter. Given a pager. Go find a table. Your sandwiches are plated on an aluminum baking tray like in a cafeteria. Need flatware? Request when picking up your order. We decided to share our paninis. Took a bite. So good. Fresh light airy rosemary focaccia bread with thinly sliced meat. Next time I'll try a warm heated panini. They also have other items like arancini, polenta fries, calamari, etc.

Yelp
I had a mortadella panini this weekend and while it was delicious it gave me a serious case of bubble guts. Not sure if it's safe to store these pre-made sandwiches in the glass case or if that case is refrigerated, maybe next time I'll ask them to make it fresh. I did also have the fried zucchini w/ dipping sauce which was delicious too.

Yelp
I've come here before about 2 years ago and I got the arancini balls so I was excited to get them again. What a disappointment. I asked for marinara sauce on the side and the guy said it was inside of the balls, and I briefly thought I remembered a sauce inside too so I said never mind. I get back to my hotel room, take a bite and it's plain no sauce in there. It's also very bland which I know for a fact the first time it was not this bland, and it had an aftertaste of back sweat and sink water. Maybe they got new cooks or whatever it may be but definitely a step down from the first time I had it. And definitely the last time I order it from them,

Yelp
Eataly has multiple stalls, some of which provide similar offerings. La Rosticceria caught my eye. The line moves quickly; a plus in Las Vegas where there's a line for everything. It wasn't long after paying that the pager began buzzing. The Cotto Lattuga E Senape was satisfying. The bread was similar to a focaccia and the meat seemed authentically Italian. The star of the show was the side of crispy Brussels Sprouts. Sometimes, food prepared simply (salt, pepper and olive oil) is the best! The pricing was comparatively reasonable for an "on- strip" restaurant. It's a great place to stop for lunch and avoid the usual burger or pizza.

Yelp
Service was horrible. First the guy didn't want to seem to help me (sept 4 at 2:19). What I wanted they didn't have so I asked about the rice cheese balls that was pictured around th. He said there is no cheese it's just a picture. I replied, I think your sign said there is cheese. He said louder (he was clearly annoyed). "ITS JUST A PICTURE". I didn't order anything. He clearly wanted to be somewhere else.

Yelp
The sandwiches here were so good and I will happily be back! Service was quick and sandwiches do sell out. The bread is all freshly made.

Yelp
The Prime Rib sandwich was delicious! It hit the spot. Perfect after a long walk on the Vegas Strip.

Yelp
This counter caught my attention when I walked by and saw the display of fried items. The other side of the counter displayed their roasted chicken and various sandwiches. I ordered the Calamari and Arancini on my visit. The Calamari had a light batter and the crunch factor but the squid meat was too thin and hard. The Arancini came with three in an order and it was good. I liked that they made the items at the time of order so nothing came out soggy but overall nothing was mindblowing. I was given a buzzer after paying which allowed me to wander around Eataly. I waited about 10 minutes before the buzzer went off for order pickup. The total of both items with tax cost $32.48 which is very expensive for what I ordered. After paying, I noticed on the receipt that I was charged a dollar more than what was stated on the menu for my Calamari. I brought this to the cashiers's attention and his response was that they increased the price a week ago. The difference was a dollar but I expected more from Eataly. Based on what the cashier said, it meant that prices on menus located on both sides of the counter were outdated. It should be simple. If you don't change the menu, don't charge the new price!
google avatar

Bill C.

Yelp
The food here looks better than it taste. Our $22 roasted chicken was super SUPER salty!!! I split the chicken with my spouse and we literally couldn't finish our meal. My son also complained his panini was "hella salty!!" We ended up eating a small portion and tossed them out. Needless to say I don't recommend this place. Wish I had read the reviews first.
google avatar

Joy W.

Yelp
I figured you can't go wrong with a hot panini, with fresh bread and cured meat. I got in line at the counter and then they gave me one of those buzzers that lets you know when your order is ready to be picked up. I had ordered the prosciutto, but I didn't pay enough attention to the menu, because the prosciutto cotto is the kind that just tastes like harm, and doesn't have the smokey, air dried flavor with fat veins throughout. $14 Prosciutto Cotto - Ghidetti provolone piccante DOP, Rovagnati prosciutto cotto, housemade pala bread: A ham panini filled me up and got the job done. It was on the extra salty side. Also, the bread fell apart in some places. I wish there was more flavor to balance all the salt. Nevertheless, it still made for good leftovers the next day.
google avatar

Sam S.

Yelp
I chose to eat eat here because it looked like an authentic place with fresh sandwiches, but that couldn't have been further from the truth. I ordered some kind of ham sandwich and When I got my sandwich the presentation was poor already, and then when I took a bite I was actually disgusted. The lettuce was soggy and rotten looking, like it had been there for hours. The sandwich was clearly pre made and everything about it was just soggy and really pathetic for the price. I wish I got a photo for this review, but I took two bites and threw it away before thinking to write a review. I would say that this place makes subway look like a 5 star fine dining Italian restaurant. I Haven't had such a terrible sandwich in longer than I can remember. -Sam

Yelp
We got the Porcheta and the Sopressata Panini sandwich's. We absolutely love the both of them but the Porcheta was freaking amazing. It was light and fluffy on a focaccia bread, and perfect amount of sweet and salty. I would definitely come here again just to get that. However, our server Lucia was not very attentive, and we stood in line for five minutes while she was standing about 2 feet away from us cleaning wine glasses. So we left, but still felt like it was the best restaurant in the area, so came back and ordered.
google avatar

Steven L.

Yelp
Located inside Eataly. Rotisserie chicken is flavorful. A bit on the dry side. Grilled zuchinies drizzeled with olive oil, lemon and salt. The prime rib sandwich is very nice. The bread is soaked with olive oil. Def will be back. A nice place to a quick bite.
google avatar

Andi K.

Yelp
We enjoyed our sandwiches and street food. Price was inline for "the strip". Don't wait until the last minute, they will sell out fast
google avatar

Alex J.

Yelp
Located in Eataly, La Rosticceria specializes in snacking and wine rather than a full sit down meal. In order to keep from starving to death before my Momofuku reservation, I ordered a "prosciutto" sandwich. The wait felt long, perhaps because I was in a rush, but the staff was very friendly and expedited my order as much as they could. The sandwich itself was good. The bread was beautifully toasted and buttery while the "prosciutto" seemed more like ham than any other prosciutto that I have tasted. I definitely would come again if I needed a quick snack.
google avatar

Yelp
The food here is amazingly priced and tasty. Everything is laid out so i knew exactly what I was getting. The Park MGM food hall may be one of my favorite for any budget. I had the Prime Rib sandwich which is different from a traditional American sandwich but very delicious. They was selling so many the lady said she was making 12 at a time but love was put into each of mines and my friends sandwich. I also enjoyed there Fritto mix (calamari, shrimp & fish) and Orzo. Everything was yummy.

Eddie R.

Yelp
The "Eataly Cuccina Del Mercato is a really nice place to visit. They have a number of different eateries which, includes pizza, bars, sandwiches, meat, and pastas. But if you're looking to get in and out, don't bother going here. Way too crowded. Even if you order a sandwich, they hand you a buzzer, and you have to wait for all the previous orders to filter through before getting your own food. Painfully long wait.By the way, the food is good

Brock S.

Yelp
Food was amazing! But customer service was terrible! Very rude people working here! I was in the middle of placing an order and the gentleman walked away, and grabbed another coworker to finish my order. Which was very confusing because I was very nice. Just overall a lack of good service!
google avatar

Julian B.

Yelp
Place is totally over priced. I tried their steak sandwich and it was too raw to eat. Then I get their chicken salad sandwich and there are actually bones in the mix.

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
I will start by saying the Milanese de pollo I had was amazing! However, the service was not. We ordered the sandwich and a water bottle. When we were at the register the lady told us the printer wouldn't work so she couldn't give us our receipt, we then asked her if we got our water bottle before our food or if we waited. She responded "that's why I gave you a buzzer, you wait." Fast forward 10 minutes and my buzzer goes off so I go grab my food, when I got to my table I realized she didn't give me my water. I head back over seconds later and ask for my water and she asks for a receipt. I explain to her that I didn't get a receipt and she continued to ask for it. I then go to the man at the register and ask him for my water. He says he needs my receipt and I explain to him I wasn't given a receipt. He asked for it again which is when I get frustrated. I tell him AGAIN that I did not get a receipt because the printer wasn't working when we paid! He walks over to the water cooler, grabs a water, slams the cooler, aggressively pops the top off and sets the water down and turns away. I say thank you and he rudely says "you're welcome"

Avelino B.

Yelp
The guy cooking the meat balls and other stuff is unpleasant at all, he cooks in a way that you don't feel secure , he did mistake in my orders and served me in a platter worst than for a dog. It's sad because the rest of the team is friendly

Sue K.

Yelp
Worst Milanese I have ever had in my life. Expensive bad food. Tried to mask the sour taste with sauce but couldn't finish it. I grew up with Italian food so I was expecting to eat good food but couldn't be more disappointed. They shouldn't offer this plate to customers.
