"The Moroccan restaurant in East Harlem offers a truly bountiful green shakshuka for $15, available during brunch. It comes with not only spinach and feta cheese, but also a salad, hummus, and pita on the side. It’s a meal and then some." - Paul Schrodt

"Use La Shuk like you’d use an upbeat indie playlist when you have people over - mostly to make yourself seem extremely likable. This quiet Morrocan restaurant is great for everything from a dinner with your kids on a Sunday night to a casual date you can share a hot and roasted eggplant salad with. If you’re just ordering one thing, make it the incredibly juicy chicken kebab that comes with rice and a lemony side salad, and whole wheat pita that radiates so much heat it would embarrass your apartment radiator. Also, at brunch they have a $30 bottomless deal that includes any entree and unlimited mimosas for two hours." - Hannah Albertine

Literally the BEST REAL Moroccan food I have ever tried in NYC! The spices in the fish, couscous shakshouka Everything reminded of my home in Morocco I am so happy to discover this gem ! Can’t wait to go back again Big up to chef Rashida for all the love that she puts in every dish ❤️

Weekend brunch with my husband in this cute little gem. We ordered their famous green shakshuka that is served with side hummus, added merguez, and their weekend special was rosemary chicken with delicious buttered mashed potato. Amazing flavors!! We ended with a beautiful chocolate mousse. Everything was spot on and the ambiance was super chill. Awesome date spot ❤️

The aura of the restaurant is nice, rather romantic. We ordered vegan platter, chicken bastilla and mint tea. All tasty and just good amount of portion for the reasonable price.

I have never had Moroccan food before so I figured that New York would be the perfect place to find a Meditarranen restaurant and I wasnt wrong. La Shuk sits right on Lexington Ave and is also right around the corner from Central Park. The restaurant is small but very cute. I love the colors and they theme used. I asked the server what would be the one plate I had to have considering I had never had Mediterranean food and she suggested the lamb kofta kebab platter. The plate comes with basmati rice, beet salad, green salad, grilled tomato, onion and jalapeño as well as the lamb kebab. Everything was absolutely delicious and very flavorful without being spicy and I am sos happy I followed her suggestion. I really enjoyed my time here. The service was good, the environment was very peaceful and the food has to be amongst one of the best that I have ever eaten. Cant wait to go back when I am visiting my Manhattan again. #mediterraneanfood #healthy #datenight

Hmmmm. The review was great so I went here but it was not as good as I thought. The food is ok. Atmosphere is ok. The server is nice. I think the quality of meat was not that great. The chicken was tasteless. Lamb was a bit smelly and tough to chew. Unfortunately I won’t come back here...

This is a small place. There are some flowers at each table. I ordered the Marrakesh tagine with two shesh kabab. The food was very tasty. However I would have to say my tangine was not a tagine but rather was just rice with two Lamb kababs and some spinach drizzled with some olive oil. I've been to Morocco and what was served to me is not considered a tagine. The place could use some better ventilation. My coat smelled of food after I left. I came back another time with other people and thought the appetizers option is good alternative to getting entrees. They have a 5 appetizers for $20 which might be even better than getting an entre. You can try everything.

Excellent authentic Moroccan, with a range of great light staples. Particularly useful is the 5 appetizers for $20, you can sample the labneh, tabbouleh, and more classic staples. Pair this with a simple but delicious entree and it easily feeds 2 people. They also have an amazing bottomless mimosa brunch. Can't miss!

Went here because I saw tagines on the online menu, but they are nowhere to be found on the actual menu. The food itself itself is very good, the kofta was almost exactly how I remember it in djem el fna. It is however a bit overpriced for the amount you get.
