"The newest rooftop dining scene to grace downtown Raleigh, La Terrazza, serves sophisticated Italian and continental cuisine to pair with the views. There’s a Galician-style grilled octopus appetizer, a slew of fresh pastas (try the porro ravioli with caramelized leeks, ricotta, and a parmesan fonduta), and main courses like an oven-roasted rack of lamb and beef Rossini, served with mascarpone potato puree and a truffle Madeira sauce. A selection of craft pizzas offers some slightly more casual bites, and there is a full bar to help toast the downtown skyline." - Matt Lardie

My son decided to take us out to this Absolutely delightful restaurant on the ninth floor we sat on the out door balcony just after dark ,the views were stunning all the downtown buildings were lit up .the light though out the restaurant gave off an Enchanting mellow atmospheric jib, which gave you the feeling of being in a kind of Exotic location ,the excellence of the service, the absolutely Exquisite food presentation Coupled with the atmosphere really added to the experience. I highly recommend this beautifully located restaurant and we had the best server in the entire restaurant that was Melissa. She was right on point. Always thinking ahead to make sure we had everything we needed for an enhanced amazing dining experience. .

This place was nice and offered a really cool view of the city. The main dining room is all glass and they have a huge outdoor dining area and bar with an open view as well. Parking was easy and cost less than 10$ for dinner. The lasagna was amazing and the charcuterie board was amazing. The best part was the skewer appetizer! We did have to wait over 45 minutes for our waitress to take our order even though it was a week night and they didn’t seem crowded. Overall really great and perfect for occasions or taking friends!

Decided to grab dinner and drinks here after a weekend trip by train from Charlotte. Located on the 9 floor corner of S.West & W.Martin street opposite Union station. As it was an impromptu stop, we did not have a reservation but managed to get a table outside. I would recommend a reservation at it can be busy, especially if you would like to have a nice view of Raleigh below. Indoor and outdoor seating. Lovely menu, great view and wonderful atmosphere. Whilst our waitress was awesome, we did notice some of the other staff, including front desk hostess looking as though they just rolled out of bed. Come on guys, you can present yourselves better! This could have been a five star review, I was tempted to give a three star.

Google
We loved it here!! The food was OUTSTANDING. The views are incredible. There was just some odd things that occurred. They were out of some items and didn’t have things like aqua panna for a nice Italian restaurant which I found strange. I mentioned I couldn’t drink and most places nowadays have mocktail menus. They didn’t have it and struggled to figure out options for me. Aside from that the ambiance was good, the server was attentive and the view was gorgeous.

My husband and I celebrated our four year anniversary here. The food was phenomenal and our wonderful server was the cherry on top! We will definitely be visiting again. We loved every moment.

We had an amazing time here. While making the reservation I had requested for a good city view as it was a birthday celebration, they in seated us at a table outside the maining dining room next to rooftop open area exit. As soon as I told them I was not happy with the table, they moved us to a table in the main dining area with a great view. The service and staff here is amazing, beautiful views, warm and cozy ambiance and delicious food and drinks. We had such a great time here !

Omg! This place was a nice surprise for my birthday dinner. The staff was wonderful, the food waa great, and the view was awesome. Nice ambiance, quick service, and the best drinks I have had in years! I'm just upset that I haven't made it here sooner. The vibe here is incredible. Lots of couples ans small groups and a great place for a family dinner.

My experience at La Terrazza was amazing!!! The parking was easy and accessible. While my party had to wait for a rooftop table, Will was hospitable. He was very helpful in helping me to decide with entrees to go for. He went over and beyond in helping us to find a table after we reached our 30 to 35 minute waiting time. He ensured us he found an open table, and that the table was getting prepared for us. As we headed outside, the atmosphere was so beautiful. The scenic access to downtown Raleigh was eye opening. The nice, light breeze was relaxing and soothing. The ambiance was very pleasant. Jazmin was our waitress and I am so glad she was! She is genuine, respectful, compassionate, thoughtful, kind, and knowledgeable. She has a great personality! She made sure we were comfortable and satisfied throughout our whole dining experience. She answered all of our questions regarding the menu. She accommodated us with anything that we needed. She went over and beyond with our concerns and our needs. She was very proactive in making sure we had new silverware in between our appetizers, meals, and dessert. I highly recommend in asking for Jazmin to be your waitress when you come to La Terrazza. Now on to the food!!! The Polpo is amazing!!! It was so delicious and the sauce provided with it was so great!! The Caesar salad was great! The lamb special for the evening was great! The mango sorbet, the strawberry moscato sorbet, and the raspberry sorbet was so delicious!!! I was in awe with the taste!!! I will definitely get that again!! I highly recommend you to come to La Terrazza and experience a great dining experience! I will definitely be coming back again!!

Yelp
Had a reservation in the evening on a Sunday and not very crowded. The service was quick and very professional. Our server, Mike, was absolutely amazing! He helped explained menu items and helped choose out some favorites and always made sure we were taken care of during our time dining there. The food was nothing short of amazing! I celebrated an anniversary with my partner, and this was a perfect spot

Yelp
This is one of my favorite spots in downtown Raleigh! I've been in the summer and winter and had amazing experiences both times. In summer, it was magical to sit outside and have the Raleigh skyline to bask in. In the winter, I brought my large family here to sit inside. We got similarly amazing views sitting in the opulent, glass walled dining area. Getting everyone to agree in my family is tough - but we all agreed that this was the best Italian place! We all ordered different pizza and pasta dishes and we were somehow all abundantly pleased with our selections! In my opinion, the hidden gem on the menu is the lasagna. I would never normally order but it is worth it! As always, I appreciate their professional, fastidious servers!

Shannon C.

Yelp
This restaurant is sexy. The views from the heated rooftop and bar is the place to be for a date night. I know a lot of people rave about their pasta but the pizza is phenomenal. I got the LA COQ PISTOU - Grilled pesto chicken, fior di latte, spinach, San Marzano sauce and olives. It was a 8/10! My night fell short because of the server unfortunately. He was new and also had a party indoors so he never came back to check on us after he took our order. We had to flag down multiple servers throughout dinner to order drinks, desert & to get the check. Will I go back, yes. But I will probably sit at the bar to guarantee service.

Yelp
I attended a birthday celebration at La Terrazza, located on the 9th floor of the Dillion. The rooftop offered stunning views and a delightful ambiance, making it a top on my list of favorite spots. While the service was a bit slow, our server was professional and attentive, providing a comprehensive rundown of the specials. The food, including the pork belly appetizer and the Lasagna with Greek salad, was all delicious. Other appetizers, such as calamari, beef, and lamb skewers, were also thoroughly enjoyed by our group. Despite the wait, everything was worth it. Our server, Justin, did a fantastic job, going the extra mile to ensure we had a great experience, including taking care of the birthday cake. I highly recommend La Terrazza and look forward to returning. The seats inside could be better. Not the most comfortable. I understand it's a hot spot, so perhaps this is a way to influence customers to eat and go. We did enjoy outside seating ( with more back support) and views on the rooftop after dinner inside.

Yelp
One of my absolute favorite places to take friends/family when they are in town. The ambiance is so nice for a date night. I love the bolognese. I highly recommend. Service is always very attentive

Hanna R.

Yelp
Had an early Valentines date night at La Terrazza. I was a little worried coming the night before a holiday as our first time, based on some of the reviews. However, the staff and service was absolutely amazing and the food was so delicious! Everything was perfect and we can't wait to come back!

Orvina W.

Yelp
I love, love, love this restaurant! My experience has always been fantastic and the food is always delicious. I normally get a fish but I've had most of those pastas and pizza and it's all delicious! I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
My friend and I caught up on life at La Terrazza. The views were gorgeous and even though it was a very hot day, we were able to sit under the pavilion and it definitely allowed for us to have a much cooler experience out of the sun. We enjoy the Margarita and the spritz and the drinks were very refreshing and very delicious. Service was great, they were very attentive and made sure that we had everything that we needed. The food came out surprisingly fast and everything was really good, the pasta was a bit more al dente then I used to, but I really did enjoy it. The Caesar salad was great, I love Caesar salad and I always order them wherever I go, the Frito miso was very very fresh and crispy. Overall, it was a really great dinner experience. Here's what we enjoyed: - Insalata Caesar - Fritto Misto - Cavolfiore - Ravioli di Ricotta - Tagliatelle alla Bolognese

Yelp
La Terrazza offers stunning views overlooking the city. This Italian restaurant exudes energy and serves delicious food. My only critique is the noise level, which can be quite loud. If you're seeking a quiet, intimate dinner with your friends, significant other, or gals, be prepared for an energetic atmosphere. Situated on the 9th floor of the Dillon, I highly recommend making a reservation. While the patio is fantastic, we chose to dine indoors to escape the heat. Initially, there was a slight delay before our server attended to us, but it wasn't long enough to cause any frustration - she was clearly busy. My friend and I had trouble deciding on our entrees, but here's what we eventually ordered: BREAD SERVICE -- $8 LASAGNA -- $26 Classic ragu, bechamel, fresh pasta TAGLIATELLE CLASSICO -- $26 Ragu Bolognese, San Marzano sauce, parmiggiano We also ordered a bottle of their CAB SAUV which was $65 The server was well-versed in the menu and offered excellent suggestions. I suggest they consider adding a chilled red wine, such as a Lambrusco, to their menu. Although I didn't visit the restroom, I believe it may be located in the hallway at the Dillon. Overall, the experience was fantastic, and I would definitely return. I am excited to sample their seafood dishes on my next visit.

Yelp
Always love trying new places, and was definitely satisfied. Service from Tim P was great. Atmosphere... Gorgeous skyline view, but inside is super loud, even without music, every conversation ricochets. Food - 4/5. Bread was delicious. Burrata and Pulpo were great. Artichokes... They need more acid or salt and they should have removed the tougher outer leaves. Cauliflower needed something as well, can't put my finger on it. Overall, I'm sure it'll be a go -to in the area and I'm sure I'll be back to try some of their other dishes.

Yelp
I worked in The Dillon from 2018-2021 and was always hoping a restaurant would come to the 9th floor terrace. I read recently in Raleigh Magazine that a restaurant finally opened in the space in May 2024! Italian Food?! I knew I needed to make a reservation to visit ASAP. I made our reservation for a Thursday evening. We parked in the parking garage attached to the building and took the elevator up to the 9th floor. (Note - at time of this review, La Terrazza does not validate parking). A hostess station is outside of the restaurant in the lobby area and we were greeted promptly and asked if we wanted to sit inside or out. It was a beautiful day so we chose to sit outside. Our table was in the sun, which wasn't a bad thing for this particular evening, but I can see it being a challenge as we get further into summer with higher temperatures and longer days. Those tables will definitely need some sort of covering to be comfortable. I also found the outdoor metal chairs to be uncomfortable. Our waitress Mandy did a really good job serving us. She watched closely and came to refill our water often and offered to keep our bottle of wine at the outdoor bar so it wouldn't be sitting in the direct sun. We ordered the Greek Salad and Burrata Salad to start. The Greek Salad was amazing! My husband enjoyed the Burrata Salad but thought the Greek Salad was much better. He chose the Porro Ravioli for his entree and I ordered the Norcina pizza. My husband said he had definite entree envy. My pizza was really, really good. He thought his ravioli was just okay and that it needed more flavor. I think it could be improved if some herbs were mixed it, such as parsley. We shared a bottle of red wine over dinner from the expansive wine menu. The views from the terrace are top notch. Arguably the best restaurant view of Downtown Raleigh! There are some enclosed dining rooms that also have a great view of the skyline. Something a little different is that there is not a restroom within the restaurant itself - you must exit the restaurant to the 9th floor and use the building's restroom. I didn't see any signage indicating this but am familiar with the building from my previous employment that I knew where to go. Overall, La Terrazza is a beautiful space with a perfect ambiance. I hope it continues to do well. I recommend you check it out!

Yelp
The newest Italian restaurant in downtown Raleigh has raised the bar! Brought to you by the owner of Mulino Italian Kitchen, La Terrazza has a stunning location and view of the city. Get whisked up on the Dillon elevator to the 9th floor and you'll see the large, tiled entrance up front. Inside the space is tastefully decorated and designed with hints of real Italian accents everywhere along with large windows lining the dining room. Really lovely views of the Oak City. La Terrazza offers up a menu of handmade pastas, pizzas and some secondis. Prices are in the $20 to $40 range which is totally reasonable. I did some leek ravioli which were fantastic along with an excellent margherita pizza. Three years in the making, La Terrazza was worth the wait, congrats to the team on getting this stunning restaurant opened up!

Yelp
I recently held an event at La Terraza for a rehearsal dinner, which included 50 people. I worked with Jessica on the menu, the drink selection and the set up of the room and she was a joy to work with. She was great for suggestions and recommendations that help make our event a success the night of the success, the head waiter's name is Tim, and they went out of their way to make sure that everybody was treated individually and everybody's needs were met. The food was excellent. I had the salmon which was cooked perfectly. It was hot and flavorful, and the food came out and a reasonable amount of time so that everybody could enjoy their meal together. The appetizers were generous, and the cheesecake dessert was to die for I highly recommend this restaurant and next time in Raleigh I'll be going again to try more of the menu items. I hear they signature lasagna is awesome.

Yelp
La Terrazza Rooftop Restaurant and Sky Bar is truly a gem in Raleigh's dining scene. Located on the top floor of The Dillon, it offers a spectacular setting and an equally remarkable dining experience. We started with a Caesar salad, large enough to share and bursting with flavor - definitely a step above the usual. The Tagliatelle was a highlight, simple yet authentic, while the Pork Belly was melt-in-your-mouth perfection. Desserts were equally outstanding. The Tortino and Crème Brûlée were the perfect finish to an already stellar meal. What really stood out, though, was the service. Diana, or "D" as she's known, was professional, knowledgeable, and made sure we felt well taken care of throughout the night. La Terrazza has a relaxed yet refined atmosphere that makes it stand out, much like its sister restaurant, Mulino Kitchen, but with an elevated rooftop vibe. With a thoughtfully curated wine list and incredible views of downtown Raleigh, it's a place we'll definitely be visiting again soon. Asking for "D" of course, she's amazing!

Sheldon T.

Yelp
Nice addition to the downtown area! Beautiful views accompanied by an extensive menu that will satisfy with fresh, well prepared offerings!

Renata R.

Yelp
Adam went above and beyond for my friend and I. Food was incredible, one of the best meals I've had in Raleigh. I loved the sword fish special they had that night and my friend still raves about her Caesar salad. The views around dusk were to die for!

Stephanie J.

Yelp
La Terrazza is located on the 9th floor of The Dillon and has beautiful views. We started off with a round of drinks, it was a beer for me and the romagna old fashioned for my husband. We also split the bread and a caesar salad. For our entrees it was the lasagna for my husband and the tagliatelle classico for me and we split the classico brûlée for dessert. The food was okay, the lasagna sat really heavy and made me sick. The service was also not the best. I ordered a second glass of wine but never got it and was charged for not only a second but also a second beer. The check was corrected but I ended up getting a second beer instead of a glass of wine. We walked outside to the patio so I could enjoy it outside. I'll go back for drinks on the patio and to give it another try at some point.

Cliff C.

Yelp
Wow. Really loved this place. Location is great. So just park in the parking garage and take the elevator up to the 9th floor. Easy. Food was great. Service was awesome. Great wine list. Views are the best.

Kristopher S.

Yelp
10/10 best margs in the Raleigh area! Loved the strak and the Salmon! Was awesome and would recommend

Audrey C.

Yelp
Enjoyed visiting this restaurant in Raleigh! Came for the stellar view and it did not disappoint. Food and drinks were fair, but nothing special. Service was good and we enjoyed our server, however things took awhile to come out. Would come back to try some other items on the menu or to enjoy a drink with a lovely view.

Zola T.

Yelp
Beautiful location with great view. The staff was great and the food was very good we ordered an old fashioned drink was the only loss way tooo sweet. Still a must try

Tori B.

Yelp
I was a little nervous after making a reservation seeing that it was only rated 4 stars here on yelp but La Terrazza did not disappoint!! We were seated by a window and were able to see the sun go down. It was a little crowded, but interior and exterior were beautiful. We ordered the calamari/cod starter + beef/lamb skewers + pistachio pesto and the tagliatelle pastas. All of it was SOOO good. And absolutely big shout out to Kim who was the sweetest waitress she hooked us up with an extra round of the calamari for the wait (there wasnt really a wait even). Everyone was so friendly from the front staff to the guys who delivered our meals. 10/10 experience. Even had leftovers for lunch the next day bc great portion size. Will be going back!

Bambi S.

Yelp
I was invited to join my family and friends to celebrate my cousin's 35th birthday and had a good experience. The vibe was definitely giving elegance and classy. The music was good. The views of the city were amazing. We were seated rather promptly. We had reservations, however, from observing the seating process the patrons were getting in rather quickly. Drinks were ordered immediately. The majority ordered French or Pink 75 with Hendricks. My drink was on point. Bread was not automatically given at this restaurant which was rare for an Italian restaurant, however, I did not mind because I planned to get my carbs other ways. We ordered appetizers which were the pork belly, calamari, and lamb skewers. Everyone thought that they were delicious. My cousin ordered a Greek salad that looked amazing and she confirmed that it tasted amazing as well. I ordered ravioli for the entree, my cousins lasagna and lamb chops. All were very delicious. We were able to bring in balloons and cupcakes to aid in the festivities which help make the night very personable. After dinner we went out on the balcony to partake in more drinks and the night view of the city. When ordering drinks on the balcony the service was a little slow. Had to flag down a waiter. Overall it was a great experience. I would definitely go again and recommend.

Stephen D.

Yelp
Went for dinner last night. Had the Lasagna with in house made pasta. They have a whole section of dishes with in house made pasta. The Lasagna was amazing. The atmosphere is upscale casual. The waiter was friendly and accommodating. It asked for one piece of bread for my dinner and he was on the spot with it. The view is amazing. The view from the restaurant is very good especially at night. Would go back

Howard J.

Yelp
My partner and I were happy to return tonight to try food items from the menu! We had drinks the night before (which were AWESOME) and had to come back for food! All of the plates that came out the night before looked super yummy and the guys sitting next to us said his lamb chops were goodt - yes, good with a 't'. We ordered the bread (will pass on this next time), fritto misto (hot, well seasoned and tasty), and lasagna (really good). Thank you to our server Stephen M for his attentive service and the hostess that especially does a fantastic job greeting everyone at the door! We plan to return again; hopefully, under better weather conditions. However, we certainly enjoyed our city view from our table near the window.

B C.

Yelp
Five stars for the cool rooftop location. But this place has some problems that warrant just three stars. First, our waitress seemed very distracted, forgetful, etc. No real connection there. Second, it's a fairly limited menu and odd that they only list Beef MP, Fish MP, Chicken MP, Lamb MP on the menu. (MP = market price for chicken?!?) The waitress told us the beef special (New York Strip - no mention of sides) and fish special - but no mention of the chicken or lamb. (We had to ask later what the chicken dish was. See what I mean about distracted?) I got the "Beef" which was NY Strip. Against my better judgement I did not ask what the "market price" was. (It was $48.) Why do restaurants insist on forcing you to ask how much MP costs? Sorry - at best that is rude and at worst it is manipulative. I have no problem paying $48 for good steak, but honestly this was one of the worst quality NY strips I've had in a very long time. The temperature was correct but it had very little fat - only gristle that soon piled up on my plate. Worst of all - It just had no flavor. Apparently everybody else at our table enjoyed their meals, so there was no point in me waiting 20 minutes for another steak or alternative dish. I had high hopes for this place, but I doubt I'll be back for anything other than drinks and the view.

Natalie S.

Yelp
I came here with a group of my friends for a birthday party. The party was around 10 and we booked ahead of time through OpenTable. The temperature outside was 53° and they said the only available seating was outside. We asked if they could turn on the heating lamps and they informed us they were already on so we sat and shivered through the whole meal. We asked to be sat inside but I guess they forgot to find us a table until we asked at the end. They begrudgingly set up tables for us with such an obvious attitude. The food was mid especially for the price point. I guess the view was nice for those that could see it.

Brittany D.

Yelp
The openness and views are great! Would love to come back on a nice day to enjoy the outdoor space. Our service was good, our water cups never left empty. We ordered the burrata salad which was really good, my husband got the pesto chicken pizza and I got a cheese type pizza called the Donatello I believe. The crust being so thin and crispy was SO good! Mine was a little bit dry but I ordered a side of marinara and it was delish. Drinks were great too I had a grapefruit mocktail. Very pricey but only come for special occasions kind of place or for drinks.

Heather R.

Yelp
La Terrazza was wonderful. Went for date night with another couple and everything was amazing. We were seated a little before our reservation. Steven was our server and he was great. Very attentive, explained all the specials and gave great recommendations. All of the food was delicious from the Arancini and calamari appetizers to the mains and dessert. The drinks were great as well. My husband loved his old fashioned. 10/10 would def recommend and come back.

Carla C.

Yelp
Parking and getting to the restaurant was super simple. That was definitely a highlight being that it was in downtown Raliegh. We made a reservation and got seated almost immediately. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable about the specials and the regular menu options. We ordered the bread service. For $8 I am not sure it was worth it. It was great but not $8 great. The main dishes we ordered were the pistachio pesto dish, the risotto, and the steak. Small portions but filling. The restaurant itself is beautiful. The chairs were a tad uncomfortable but everything went well together. The star of the show was the creme brûlée. Best creme brûlée of my life. Definitely a must order. The views are incredible. I will be back. The reason I did not give this place five stars was when we went to pay, the waiter announced the entire bill to the table. Like itemized. I was taking folks out for dinner and I don't want them to feel guilty if they ordered something, to them, expensive. That was super odd to me. All in all. Decent food. Nice atmosphere. Would be a great date spot.

Bing B.

Yelp
Food was delicious. I had the pizza one time and pasta the next time I visited. The staff is attentive and kind, and the ambiance is great! It's a perfect place to have a meal and enjoy the views!

Lisa D.

Yelp
celebrated our friends wedding here last night absolutely beautiful rooftop restaurant with amazing views. the staff was phenomenal, so friendly and helpful literally went out of their way to make sure each guest was happy - thank you to Tim and Joey!! the buffet was so elegant and everything was delicious. I look forward to coming back to enjoy a dinner out with my husband.

JJ O.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and skyline views. Would be a good place to get a drink and hangout. I would not return for the food. Three separate people had very bland and mediocre meals. "House made" pasta is obviously a lie so I wish they wouldn't include that on the menu. The 3 dishes we ordered all looked very nice but all of we were all very disappointed. I would expect much better quality food for the price. They need to step it up.

Dom A.

Yelp
Food mid and expensive. drinks good. views good. Service good a negative they put a table right infront of the door so it was hard for anyone to enter and exit the room we were eating in.

Anita N.

Yelp
Great views of DT Raleigh from the Dillon hotel on the 9th floor and drinks were also good. Food was not bad. Definitely on the pricier side but expected. The first time I went I left without trying anything due to no one taking my order for 20 minutes but I gave it a second chance and had a good experience overall. I would go back for the vibes/drinks. Octopus was okay. Kind of overcooked which was disappointing due to the price. Tuna crudo was good. I would get it again but without the bread.

Ciera R.

Yelp
I went to the restaurant with high expectations and unfortunately my friend and I left not convinced to return. Our waitress was very friendly and nice but occasionally hard to hear. The space is undeniably beautiful and a great draw for photo opportunities nonetheless however the food items we tried were overwhelmingly a missed mark. I had the TAGLIATELLE CLASSICO and the noodles did not taste fresh at all. They had some unwelcome bite to them that was giving the noodles weren't properly prepared. The Ragu meat sauce seemed like a stretched end of supply versus a true meat sauce which affected both texture and flavor. My friend had the Donatella and per her description it was a cheese pizza at best. Flavor was lacking and it could've used a balsamic glaze to possibly enhance the dish. For our drinks, we had their version of an espresso martini and an old-fashioned. The espresso martini was basic not really any complaints however, the old-fashioned was the color of brewed tea at best. The orange bitter was a bit overpowering in some parts of the drink and other completely missing. The salted honey seem to be just regular honey, and a bit too much. It definitely was on the lower end of the old fashions I have experienced in the area. The staff was great and when asked about the food, we were honest, but it was kind of one of those things that you could not change anything about. One of the floor managers after asking us about our meal and possible way rectify was apologetic, and it was appreciated. The chef did send out truffles that both my friend and I thought it was just Hershey's which pretty much sums it up. With that in mind and both my and my friend dissatisfaction with the food, I do think that our consensus for this restaurant is in the lovely words of Aretha Franklin, "great gowns, beautiful gowns." Maybe we will try something different another time.

Kaitlyn S.

Yelp
Service was spectacular! We sat on the terrace and it was beautiful- a little hot as no fans were blowing, but it was a gorgeous view and the food was delicious. A little pricy, but honestly great portions and will definitely visit again in the fall when it cools down.

Andy C.

Yelp
Had a great experience with my wife and two friends last night at La Terrazza! Firstly, it's a beautiful venue at the top of the Dillon downtown apartments. There is a wonderful skyline view of downtown Raleigh, whether you're sitting outside in the outdoor bar area, or enjoying dinner inside. Parking can be found in the Dillon parking garage or on the street. Reservations were a little hard to come by as they've only been opened since May. However, the experience was well worth it! Let's get to the food. As we listened to the specials for the night from our excellent server Dimitrius, we perused a nice menu with options ranging from vegetarian to meat, as well as starters (antipasti) to desserts (dolce), there was plenty to choose from. My wife and I had a late lunch so opted for the very good Pizza Terrazza, which contained prosciutto, arugula, fior de latte, San Marzano sauce, and one of my favorites, an organic egg perfectly cooked and placed right in the middle of the pizza! The pizza tasted very good except for what I consider a bit of a cardinal sin: the crust was far too hard! Even with a knife it was very difficult to cut. The ingredients were fresh and the rest of the pizza was indeed tasty. But they've got to fine tune the crust somehow. Our friends had the Pizza Merzouga, also tasty but tough crust, and the Pasta Amatrice, which was perfect! Because their pasta is house made, we expected nothing less than the fresh Spaghettone, along with the guanciale, as well as tangy pecorino, and smooth San Marzano sauce. There were other wonderful options on the Secondi part of the menu, but we didn't want to fill up too much. We opted for a bottle of Le Campette Rosso from their excellent wine list. It was a bold red made from a blend of Sagrantino, Merlot, and Sangiovese, and perfect for the pizzas and pasta. Service was excellent from Dimitrius, who was professional and timely. In fact, the entire staff was very nice and interested in a great experience for their customers. We look forward to visiting again, enjoying more pasta or a secondi, and maybe even a dolce! Hopefully, their pizza crust will improve!

Yelp
So I don't like to write bad reviews, but a couple of weeks ago I decided to try this place out by myself. I didn't have a reservation & was seated outside with a lovely view. I ordered a drink, an app, and my meal. I received the drink and app very quickly. Food was good. After about 45 mins after this, I asked about the status of my food & was told they were checking. No real updates. Now, close to 2 hours into the meal, I still had no dinner & was starting to become very hungry. I asked the waiter again to check on the food, and he came back and told me that the kitchen lost my ticket & was now closed/unable to make my food. I left hungry. Pretty wild.

Yelp
The view is amazing and the food was insane! Great for date night/birthdays and an amazing place to bring out of town guests to show off the city!

Yelp
Good: location and view were awesome, appetizers came out super fast as well. Bad: the food really lacked seasoning and the pizza was honestly not great at all. The tuna tartare is just giant cubes larger than even poke normally is. I wouldn't really call it a "tartare" but that's just me, it tasted good though! The service was not great, I felt forgotten about a few times for sure. Overall not a terrible experience but it did take 2 hours for me and my wife to get in eat and leave.... The weird: the hostess and I think the GM had a weird fight right in front of us about seating. The hostess wanted to sit us with a certain server and the GM started getting kind of aggressive and turned it into a lecture....we just wanted to be seated to avoid the awkwardness and unprofessionalism. We got a whole fish and the waitress after came up and was like "woah that's jarring, that's a whole fish".....yeah it's what we ordered? It made the already underseasoned (but expertly cooked) fish lose its appeal.

Yelp
We started with a bottle of house Pinot Grigio (I forgot the name) and a charcuterie board. Next we had the pesto pizza and we also had lasagna but forgot to take a picture of it. The one point that took a star for me was the rushed servers. I understand that this place is busy! But the server didn't give us time to enjoy the wine and charcuterie board which is a fairly nice size before she came back three times to ask for our main course. Then in the middle of us eating the lasagna and pizza she came back to ask if we need boxes but we clearly were eating it. We ask for an additional glass of the same wine we had a bottle of for her to tell us they don't have Pinot Grigio by the glass. Now I understand some of the more expensive wines don't do by the glass. But you are telling me you don't have a house Pinot Grigio?! So I ask could I instead get a Hendricks and tonic. She stated that they also don't have Hendricks. OK! Two minutes later she came back with boxes and boxed our food anyway even though we didn't ask her to nor were we finished.

Yelp
"The restaurant was subpar overall. I ordered the Cali burrito, which was really good. However, the spicy pineapple mojito was overwhelmingly spicy--I couldn't finish it and ended up passing it to a friend. It did say spicy however so that was my fault for ordering a spicy drink. The service was a bit lackluster; it took quite a while for our drinks to arrive, even for a large party. On a positive note, the decor was charming and truly captured the essence of a Mexican restaurant, with vibrant lights adding to the ambiance."

Yelp
High recommend La Terrazza! The porro ravioli and lasagna were both delicious. The views and service were also great!

Yelp
The food and service were great as well as the view! We had a steak and a Sicilian pasta, as well as an arugula salad with Mozzarella Di Bufala. The crème brûlée was quite good! Highly recommend and will definitely go back!

Yelp
Bar and view are fabulous. Table service is inconsistent and lacking. Food was "ok" and very expensive

Yelp
Enjoyed my first time visit to La Terrazza. The ambiance was amazing, with stunning views of the Raleigh skyline. Food was good. Nothing to write home about. I had the Caesar Salad and Amatrice. The Margherita Rossa was not very impressive for $14.00. The service left a lot to be desired. It feels like they are still training folks. I will definitely return to see the service improves.

Yelp
It was as a Sunday night in late September when I brought out-of-town family here who wanted to celebrate my recent birthday. I found the whole experience somewhat disappointing. Aside from the location, which is spectacular, and the ambiance, which was good, no one was at the desk when we were checking in for our reservation. It took a few minutes before they showed up and took us to our table. Views are spectacular. We ordered the Pulpo to start and it came looking very different than the advertising. (Order multiple starters if you intend to share.) It was cooked sufficiently, but nothing special. Neither were the entrees. They were out of the one fish dish; one of my companions ordered the lamb, which was gristly and the portion of risotto my other companion ordered was chintzy for such a price! All portions seemed ridiculously small for the prices, and nothing special. I ended up ordering the calamari starter for my dinner as I have a milk allergy and didn't want creamy based pastas. I have had better calamari elsewhere and at a lower price. Drinks were okay. My margarita was very good but we waited a long time for them. I will give the creme brulee a thumbs up, but the flan was a miss. I will agree with a previous reviewer that the menu is limited and somewhat odd. Who orders pizza at such a place? Wait staff was adequate, but long dry spells between visits. One staffer mentioned there had been a lot of turnover! I believe it. I also wondered whether the usual chef had either departed or was off that night (it was a Sunday night). The advertising and the view are the only things going for this place. Don't go for the food.
