The 14 Top Barbecue Spots in South Florida

"Austin native and pitmaster Mel Rodriguez, along with Miami native and Buffalo Bills wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie, are behind this Texas-style barbecue outpost. The counter-service restaurant offers brisket sundae, a mac and cheese base layered with baked beans, cream corn, smoked brisket, cotija cheese, crema, and house sauce. Additional options include platters and meats by the pound, such as smoked pulled pork, smoked sausage, pork spare ribs, and Texas-style brisket. Try the brisket y queso empanadas or smoked pork rib croquettes for a taste of Miami and Texas fusion." - Eater Staff

La Traila Barbecue Review - Miami Lakes - Miami - The Infatuation

"La Traila is a Texas-style barbecue spot in Miami Lakes. There may be a line out the door here, but it moves quicker than you’d think. When you reach the register, you just tell the man with the big knife what you want, he slices it up, and then you move on down the line (at which point you should absolutely ask for cornbread). And even though they were sold out of a few things when we visited, we still thought the ribs, cornbread, and banana pudding were certainly worth the 20-minute wait." - Ryan Pfeffer

First I want to start by saying that if You are going to give this place a chance do it as a dine in and not as take out. Take out portions look way smaller and not worth the price compared to dine in plate. We had the 2 meat plate with ribs and brisket and had the elite corn, Mac n cheese and cornbread as sides. Plus an order of the brisket empanadas. The brisket was a bit dry and had no fat, but the ribs were pretty good and didn’t need bbq sauce. The cornbread was very dry and flavorless, the alote corn was ok, but not sure why is called “elote corn” since it doesn’t have the mayo sauce or cheese and last the Mac and cheese was creamy and flavorful but they use shell pasta and not traditional macaroni plus the side was so tiny. Now the brisket empanadas wee delicious, loved How full of meat it was and super flavorful.

Beautiful atmosphere with great food. Located in Miami Lakes, this restaurant has a BBQ and Latin style of flavors and spices this restaurant have all your favorite bbq style food with your delicious sides. I recommend the brisket which turned out to be my favorite. Juicy and tender with flavorful sauce along with the crispy fries made this the perfect meal. I also recommend the baked beans and the Mac and cheese was also the best. If you’re near by stop by and try…you won’t regret it.

First time here planning to eat in. Very small place. Mostly empty on Wednesday at 4PM. This is not a cheap place to eat. They must thrive on take out. Inside, 3 high top tables for 4 each and 1 table for 2. Some tables outside. Order at cash register. The only printed menu is there. No take home menus. Go to their website. Ordered a 2 meat plate with 2 sides. $26.00 Brisket, ribs, potato salad and mac & cheese. 2 ribs and 2 slices of brisket. Sides are in small take out cups. For the price, they should give 4 ribs. Food was good but because of the prices I will not be going back.

As a native born and raised central Texan, of course this is a critical review. I had heard good things about this place so I had to come take a 45 minute drive to check it out. First and foremost, something very concerning I noticed when I walked into this establishment. The Texas flag is UPSIDE DOWN!!! This needs to be fixed. As a Texan it hurts. It also makes me question everything I’m about to eat as being true authentic Texas bbq. So let’s start with the menu. There is not a lot of Texas bbq on it. It does have brisket, which is #1 and very important. But it is missing things like beef sausage / kielbasa, chopped beef, brisket burnt ends, beef ribs, etc. Theres a lot of pork on the menu which is fine, but not very Texan. So that was a bit of a bummer to see. The brisket was absolutely fantastic. And has the flavor profile, bark, and tenderness of true brisket from central Texas. It was very good and I can’t wait for more of it. You know it’s good brisket if you don’t need sauce with it and this doesn’t need it. The brisket empanadas were also fantastic. Perfect crunch. Not soggy. And the brisket was just as good as it was by itself. The bbq sauce that comes on this side should be for pork only. It’s not a beef friendly sauce. It’s thick and tangy. Kind of a Carolina sauce. The sides were mediocre. I’m not sure what is going on with the baked beans. Tastes like out of a bean can from the store mixed with cinnamon. Very strange and does not go well with the dish. I thought the Mac and cheese was also over salted. The elote was very good! Traditionally, Texas bbq is pulled from a pit right in front of you and cut on a butcher block and weighed right there. Here you order and it comes to your table. Nothing wrong with that it’s just different. I will most certainly come back, please fix the flag asap and add more beef to the menu! *edited my review and moved it up to 4 stars. Nice to see an owner reply. Thanks for the flag fix :) Can’t wait to come back.

Google
My brother came across this place on Instagram. The prices, as others have mentioned are not cheap by any means. My brother got the pork belly with a side of cornbread and southern baked beans, as well as cream corn, which he said was decent. My Dad got the spare ribs with a side of cornbread, which he said were great but pricey. I tried the brisket, it was good. The Mac & cheese is good as well as the cornbread. I would visit this place to try the ribs and try the BBQ Quesadilla.

Google
We were visiting Miami Lakes from out of town and we liked the reviews we saw for this place. We stopped in and were not disappointed. Wednesday burger specials were recommended. They were nothing less than AMAZING! I've never had a brisket burger before. Smoke ring on a burger patty?!?! Wow!! Will definitely be worth a trip back--just to dine here again! EXCEPTIONAL!!

Google
One of the best bbq restaurants in Miami hands down. The pork ribs were so tender and flavorful, the brisket is the best I've had it was super juicy, the mac and cheese was amazing too and the cornbread. The service was top notch. This was our first time and we let the girl at the register know and she went through the whole menu with us and explained in detail what every dish was.

Google
Came here for breakfast tacos! And I was not disappointed. I got a Bacon Egg and Cheese taco, chorizo, and Brisket guisada. Some of them were pre made, so easy to grab before work etc. I’m happy to have come here and tried it. The eggs were not tried out. Tortillas yummy. Will definitely be returning!

Yelp
Food: Delicious Texas style bbq in the heart in Miami! We have the 2 Meat Plate that comes with the choice of two meats, two sides, and they were nice enough to add a complimentary corn bread because it was our first time! Thank you! The Mac n Cheese tasted like it was homemade, the pork belly and prime brisket tasted slowly roasted, and the bake beans have their own sweet twist. Service: Very friendly staff that help you with any questions you have. Amazing customer service! Great job. Ambience: Causal and friendly environment for anyone to come and enjoy. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to try some good ol BBQ ^.^

Yelp
I would try La Traila again soon. I would have to agree with some of the lower-rated reviews. It's disappointing not having barbecue sauce or more barbecue options. If this is the beginning, then great! I hope they can expand their options. We need more American style barbecue options in south Florida I ordered the ribs. They were a little dry for my taste. I like my ribs slathered I'm sauce. The macaroni was delicious. Saucy, thick. Shell macaroni which was different and lovely. The pickled red onions were a nice touch. I would recommend La Traila. But I would recommend the pulled pork instead of the ribs.

Yelp
YES! THE PLACE: Located in a shopping center in Miami Lakes, parking is plentiful. The restaurant has indoor barstool tables and outdoor tables. Industrial decor yet welcoming. THE FOOD: they have great good options, single or for two. On my visit, I opted for the brisket elote. It was huge, packed with so much flavor and topped with savory soft brisket. It took less than 5 mins for me to get my food, wow! I overheard the ladies next to me rave about their ribs the whole time they were eating. They even went inside after their meal to thank the team and compliment on the experience. THE SERVICE: The cashier was so sweet and was able to recommend their top dishes. The other lady was so fast and efficient with orders. All worked cohesively and professionally. Notes: I think 20 bucks was a bit much for the food, but it was also absolutely delicious and were in Miami.. sooo.. yea- food for thought.

Yelp
Fave bbq spot . Brisket, pork belly and pulled pork are amazing. Service is great. Very laid back ambience! Great spot for quick lunch. Come with an appetite!

Yelp
So I've heard about this spot but never got the chance to swing by, finally decided to stop by and try the barbecue. It was delish! Honestly the brisket was tender and seasoned great! The barbecue sauce was unique, a twist on bbq sauce. The elote corn was the best, all the flavors and is a sharing portion! Loved all the options and great service! Thanks guys!

Yelp
So they won the Orange Bowl 2022 Food and Wine celebration people's choice award for their brisket and now I see why. There were many options on the menu but I opted for the two meat plate with two sides so I obviously wanted to try their brisket and was in the mode for some pork belly with a side of elote salad and baked beans. When I tell you this brisket is to die for and it just melts in your mouth I'm not doing it justice with my words. Meat is so tender that I was cutting it up with just a plastic fork, no lie. It's got what I believe is a black pepper coating that takes the flavor up a notch. I've never been to Texas where they supposedly make the best bbq but if it tastes anything like this, then I might have to plan a trip up there of of these days. Pork belly was also to die for, not too fatty and nice big chunks of delicious sweet crunch and savory yummyness. The elote salad was also surprisingly delish considering it's not a Mexican joint and very flavorful. Baked beans are nothing to rave about but they weren't bland more on the sweeter side. I wish I had tried the mac and cheese instead because a couple in front of me ordered it and it looked like some of the best, maybe next time. The staff is very welcoming and helpful with the menu items and choices. Prices are moderate considering they're not stingy with portions. Ambiance is casual and relaxed and space is good for small groups, not a lot of tables because it's a smaller type of joint. I gotta come back for the ribs as suggested by one of the cooks I was conversing with and that Mac and cheese. Definitely recommend this joint especially for the brisket.

Yelp
Delicious! We were visiting Miami after a food tour in Texas, and wanted to find good Texas-style barbecue here. So good & definitely hit the spot!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I have been looking for a true barbecue spot and this place is a favorite. Everything we've tried from the menu is tender, perfectly seasoned, and great quality. You can really tell they took time creating their menu and flavor, I highly recommend. One of our favorite places to just take out from and have a picnic ! But if not they have plenty of outdoor seating.

Yelp
Don't walk, RUN !!! Please do me a favor and run to this restaurant. OMG! I would say this is one of the best barbecue place in miami. And for sure They have the best Mac and cheese. We had the burger and it was delicious. The Mac and cheese was unreal. Soft and fresh. The staff is super friendly also! 10/10!!!!
google avatar

Elizabeth 'Betsy' G.

Yelp
The food was ok. Not the best BBQ I have eaten. I would go back to try again to give them another chance. Staff was using a spray cleaner to wipe the glass/sneeze guard where the food was stored. That was a turn off. Hopefully they have had a bit more training g as I did stop by relative to their opening.

Yelp
The hubs doesn't usually request to go anywhere so when I got the text while in the planning stages, I knew we had to stop by this Texas BBQ Joint! 2 Meat Combo - Brisket & Pork Belly Both meats were pretty good with good flavor. The potato salad and cornbread were also good. I loved the pickled onions! Service was great from everyone! It's a cute spot with a few tables outside and window hightop table inside. It's located in a medium sized strip mall with other restaurants and retail with lots of parking. They have many accolades including Best of Miami 2021. We may have to come back to try their other specialties! Recommended!

Yelp
Ridiculous! Seriously! Who'd have thought legitimate BBQ could be found in...Miami Lakes?! My buddy has been telling me about this place--read about it and how the line for opening day was crazy long. We finally got a chance to hang out and grab some BBQ. So glad I did. One note: not La Traila's fault but parking can be a bear. No biggie as the walk to your car helps burn off the food you just ate! Walking in, the staff was awesome! Also awesome, they offer a military discount but might get some flak if you're Navy! That's what made it even better; that friendly service banter. Nonetheless, I scored the two meats which I chose ribs and brisket with a side of beans and cornbread. Now, I'm like Johnny Cash and I've "been everywhere, man", from St Louis, to Texas, and to the Carolinas. It's literally Texas BBQ I've got from those grungy dive joints in San Antonio that papaw runs! While the sauce might be the boss in the Carolina's and St. Louis, this was perfect smoke! The brisket had a delicious thin bark and was almost buttery. The ribs have that gorgeous smoke ring with a peppery flavor and tenderly pulls (NOT falls...that's overcooked) off the bone! The cornbread was great and the beans -- yeah, I'm ok with not having them! Yeah, this is long but listen! The folks working there are super awesome. They were sampling some smoked turkey with their staff and offered guests some. Maybe texting for Thanksgiving. If moms turkey was like that, I'd wish for Thanksgiving weekly! Wow! Best turkey ever! Mel and Isaiah, the owners, crushed it! Great food, great staff, great restaurant!

Yelp
If you're looking for a serious meal, this is it. First time I had La Traila was back when they were at Unbranded and it was as good then as it is today! I hadn't been to the physical location yet since ML is a bit a drive away but if you're into BBQ heavy, it's worth it. They frequently sell out of food, which is not something you hear a lot and its a good sign, it means Miami recognizes that the grub SLAPS For my first official visit I did the Smoked Brisket sando, homestyle potato salad and washed down with a 3 sons brew (also a SFL local brewery). Was graciously given some pork belly and chorizo extras and, although I was defeated, my slim jim self killed most of it because it was just too good to not eat LOL. They def HAVE THE MEATS Shout out Mel and team for their continuously recognized establishment and food - Def get you some!

Yelp
Sooooo yummy!!!! I ordered the brisket the Mac and cheese and elotes!!! It was amazing. The service was good and the food came out quick. If you find yourself in this area, don't miss out. So much better than the spots around it.

Yelp
I love everything here but this is definitely my favorite thing on the menu. The Brisket Elote slaps

Yelp
Those 3 touchdowns against the Dolphins back in January by coowner Isaiah McKenzie are forgiven...the long lines were worth it because you will enjoy great bbq here. I finally made it to Miami Lakes newest bbq place La Traila this past Sunday, and was able to enjoy my pick of their dishes. You have the option of enjoying a larger cut of one meat, or a combo plate (slightly smaller portions). I took this route, with their pulled pork and two spare ribs. The spare ribs had a nice bit of meat and just enough char. My pulled pork was perfectly tender, with a hint of heat augmented with La Trailas homemade mustard based bbq sauce and really flavorful. Baked beans were on point with sweetness. Mac and cheese had the perfect, just past al dente texture and the sauce not runny. Make sure to add bacon bits to your Mac and cheese! I'd seen their maple bacon dessert and made sure to leave space for that. The sweet maple syrup coupled with crispy bacon and sweet pastry made for a great treat. Service was on point, from the cashier & servers to both owners Isaiah and Mel were super friendly, checking on the customers, posing for photos and even helping another client with their little one. I wish them great and look forward to many visits.

Yelp
If you are craving BBQ anywhere near Miami Lakes, then this is your spot! The meat is delicious and it's all prepared right in-front of you. I have visited twice already in the span of a week. First off, expect a line if you're visiting on the weekend. I arrived Sunday at 11:45am (BBQ starts at 12) and waited 45 minutes to get food. Most of the line is artificial since the location is so small. They do hand out Topo Chico water which is a plus. Employees outside are very friendly. On the contrary, there was no wait when I visited today at 1pm. Once you get inside, there is a cooler of craft beers/soda to your left and then the piece de resistance in-front of you - the BBQ being cut by the pit master. He takes your order before you move on to picking your sides. We tried the Brisket Empanadas and also the Brisket Sundae. Both were delicious. The Empanadas I could eat every day. For sides, we grabbed Mac&Cheese and some Sweet Cornbread. Cornbread on Sunday was delicious, but didn't taste the same today (keep that old recipe!). Mac&Cheese is good, but nothing special. For dessert, we grabbed the Cafe con Leche tres leche & Maple Bacon tres leche. Nothing to write home about, I would skip it. Haven't seen the flan they advertise yet. There is indoor seating, outdoor seating or you can choose to take your oder to go. Again, all employees inside are very friendly and helpful. Originally I was going to rate La Traila at 5 stars, but I had to deduct a star after I noticed some menu changes today. On Sunday, The Empanadas were 3 pieces for $14. Today it's changed to 2 pieces for $15 (why you do this to me??). I also noticed some other random price increases/decreases in meat amount. That is a bit of a turnoff to me, but I'm sure this place will stay busy. I can see them expanding to a bigger location as well. I recommend following their instagram to get up to date hours since they do run out of BBQ occasionally!

Yelp
Yet another home run for BBQ in Miami! Was it worth the 30-minute drive from my house? Absolutely. We came at 4 p.m. on a Saturday and there was no line and plenty of tables indoors and outside. For starters, the service was amazing (as they offered a brisket sample prior to us ordering) and very accommodating. The food? OUT. OF. HAND. My boo and I shared the 2 meat platter (we got pulled pork and brisket), which comes with two sides (we opted for mac n cheese & baked beans). We also got an additional side of corn bread, and honestly everything is a must-have. Oh, and my friend got the brisket sundae and said it was insanely good, too. I ended things with a maple bacon tres leches that was the perfect sweet treat to cap off the meal. La Traila is located in a strip mall in Miami Lakes, so plenty of parking. Definitely looking forward to coming here again soon!

Yelp
Service: Friendly and fast Ambiance: Casual, small, indoor and outdoor seating Food: There's only one BBQ sauce option, and the sauce is applied to the pulled pork when served (not served on the side). The sauce is not a traditional flavor. The mac and cheese and cornbread lacked in flavor. The meats were the best items.
google avatar

Natalie L.

Yelp
This place is okay to just try out once. You walk up to the counter and order the food. They bring it out to you pretty quick. There's very limited seating indoors with high bar chairs/tables. 4 regular tables outside. The food was "alright." By no means was it bad, but it was nothing to blow away our tastebuds. We ordered 2 2-platter meals. Pork ribs, chicharrones, beef brisket, with mac and cheese, baked beans, coleslaw and cornbread. We also ordered a pulled pork quesadilla. The meat was good, a little dry, the rub is a little bit spicy. The sauce is mediocre. The mac and cheese was bland. The baked beans were very good, strong cinnamon flavor. The cornbread is very sweet, I love cornbread but did not love this one. The pulled pork quesadilla was pretty good, nothing out of this world. Again, it's good to try out once but definitely not a regular place to frequent.

Yelp
After living in Texas for 5 years then moving back to Florida I needed a good BBQ spot and I finally found it. This place is great. Food is great and affordable. Customer service was on point. They give you some sauce that is not BBQ but it's amazing! I highly recommend this place! I know I'll be back.

Yelp
Best brisket I've ever had! All I have to say is multiple trips to this eatery is essential. I've tried their brisket tacos, 2 meat plate (beef ribs and brisket), and apple pie cheesecake. My favorite out of the bunch was the brisket tacos. Their homemade slaw gives it a sweet and savory flavor. You get a lot of bang for your buck and NOTHING disappoints. Tip: Get to their weekend location, Unbranded Brewery, early for parking and supply purposes. It is located in a brewery hidden in a lot of warehouses.
google avatar

Shanice G.

Yelp
As with most BBQ places you snooze you lose so practically 3 things I asked for on the menu they were out of. So do yourself a favor and go close to when they open. Pretty solid bbq. Now the star was the sauce. There's only one option and for good reason. If they haven't already they should bottle up and sell - I'd dip my fries in that any day The Mac and cheese definitely needed the bacon and crust on top that was a game changer. Otherwise the Mac and cheese is.. meh. Service was very good - super friendly guys that were happy to answer our questions and assist with our selection. I agree - the signage is a bit confusing but at the same time I liked the allure of knowing about a somewhat hidden gem. I'd return.

Yelp
Ordered a burger here for my son. He loved it Burger looked delicious and massive. Nice staff and quick service
google avatar

Yelp
Pretty good... not too bad at all. We did take-out from here. We had their Texas Trinity with a little smoked turkey breast on the side for good measure. All smiles from the whole group. I don't think any one thing stood out, but all of their meats were prepared well. I could point out a few issues, but this ain't Memphis or some other barbecue mecca. This place is pretty darn good for the area.
google avatar

Yelp
Solid BBQ and 2nd best in Miami after Hometown. Hometown is more inventive, but expensive, but La Traila is straight forward Texas BBQ. They are set up at Unbranded Brewing. Food took a while to come out, but was worth it. The pulled pork was the best of the trio, followed by the brisket, then sausage. Beef rib was massive and had great bark. The Mac is elbow with a crunchy topping. What got me was their sweet beans that reminded me of Mexican cinnamon cookies I had as a kid. Good portions and I will be back.

Yelp
Awesome variety of BBQ to pick from , love the creativity in the items , little small so might take it to go if busy .

Yelp

Yelp
My first time coming here and wow I loved the food. I had a groupon and heard about this place on Instagram. And decided to check it out. I had the pulled pork meal. I enjoyed it my baked beans were good, but that cornbread was to die for! It was my favorite part of the meal. I will be returning to try more stuff from here. I was definitely stuffed after leaving here so come hungry.

Yelp
Get there early! The brisket and other best-sellers sell out early. Totally worth it, though. Service was great as well and the staff provided great recommendations.

Yelp
Delicious. We really enjoyed the Burnt Ends and the Brisket. Looking forward to our next trip.

Yelp
La Traila brought quality BBQ to Miami Lakes and its surrounding areas. Food is always good. I especially love the creamed corn and pulled pork sandwich. My only qualm is that it's a bit pricey for what it is. It's a very casual joint where you order at the counter and then they bring you your food, not necessarily a sit-down-and-order kind of restaurant. That's totally fine, but the price doesn't really match up. Either way, we're happy to come here for BBQ when we don't feel like driving down south to our staple BBQ spot.
google avatar

Kristy L.

Yelp
What a great addition to Miami Lakes!!! First of all - I am a sucker for great service and 2 major things stood out for me. 1. They're aware of their wait, and had topo chicos available to have while you wait in line. 2. They saw we came with a baby and found a table for me to sit at with her while my husband waited in line. Okay now the food. The juiciest of meats, the tastiest sides. I got the sandwich which had sausage, brisket, and pulled pork. Also ordered 1/2lb of sliced fatty brisket. We also ordered the Mac and cheese and potato salad. Just amazing, all of it. No words just pure great tasting BBQ. I can't imagine they will last long in this current spot, because they're going to need a bigger space so soon! Can't wait to go back.
google avatar

Walter L.

Yelp
So so barbecue. Unimpressive. I generally dislike any restaurant that requires a tip when you order at the counter, and this was no exception. The brisket wasn't bad, but the "slaw" was simply chopped cabbage, and they forgot our water. I always tip well for table service, after a meal is served. The Miami New Times called this Miami's best bbq, but I cannot see why. The food, the service, and the ambiance were all sub par.
google avatar

David D.

Yelp
Was disappointed with the brisket and ribs. The brisket was dry and tasted like corned beef. The ribs were way too peppery. The sides however were very good. What was strange was at the bottom of their counter menu there was a statement of the following: "A service charge of 15% is added to the bill. Additional gratuity is not required." When asked I was told that the service charge is for both eat in and take out. I asked why is there an additional charge for take out. The girl behind the counter stated that the service fee on the take out was for the plastic bags, napkins, containers, plastic utensils, etc. I asked if they received any tips from the 15% service fee and she said "No"! It sounds like the owner is ripping them off and pocketing this service fee from the staff since the statement at the bottom of their menu states "additional gratuity not required". Another thing strange about this place is you have to go through the west end of the kitchen to get to the restroom!! There is only one restroom but it is strange that there is no separation between the bathroom and the kitchen area. So while you are walking to/from the bathroom you are passing right by the kitchen. How could this be okay with health codes, I don't know, but in all my life I have never had to pass through a kitchen area to use the bathroom. Very limited indoor eating space also. Just don't feel comfortable dinning in this place or all take out orders have a 15% service charge to it for what??

Yelp
Read about this Miami Lakes spot in the Miami Herald and decided to bring my Dad here for Father's Day lunch since he loves BBQ. The spot is a cozy BBQ spot with high top tables with views of the smoker inside the kitchen. The staff was nice but the owner was AMAZING! He took the time to stop by our table and tell us about the restaurants/name origin, the BBQ sauce ingredients and the Texas born pit master. The food - 5/5 would recommend! All of our food came hot, straight off the grill! The BBQ sauce offered is the Carolina gold sauce. I'm usually not a fan of the Carolina gold sauce, but this was the best one I've tasted and am now a big fan. The grilled chicken wings were flavorful and I got the gold sauce on the side, but usually come with them on. My sister got the pulled pork sandwich and she gave it 2 thumbs up. It was a very large portion, with enough pulled pork to have for leftovers. My Dad thoroughly enjoyed his pork ribs that also came slathered with the gold sauce. We also got baked beans (sweet but not overly), corn bread and French fries - which perfectly complemented our main dishes. This place is a much welcomed/needed BBQ spot in Miami Lakes, much to my Dad's delight.

Yelp
Place was pretty small which is not a big deal. Customer service wasn't the best, lady made us feel like we were bothering her. As far as the food the Brisket and pulled pork was good but the sides were laughable, seemed like they were samples. Way to expensive for what it was. I won't be going back. If you do go I would use the Groupon to save some money.

Yelp
Finally a bbq joint in Miami lakes!!! This is definitely a great addition to the area. We finally made our way over to La Traila and it was so so good! I am a brisket kind of girl, but I must say that their pulled pork might've just topped off the brisket! How can you ever decide?! Not to mention the cornbread... do not leave without that cornbread!!! It's so sweet and delicious goes so well with the food. All the staff is so nice and helpful. Make a trip here for some great bbq!!

Yelp
Great Food. We ordered a package for six with three kinds of meat with sides and there was nothing that wasn't delicious!! I can't wait to go back! The staff was very friendly and fun!

Yelp
The food was good, just a lot of food. The corn had a little bitterness but it was the sauce I think. Nice place. We sat outside.

Yelp
Went here and got the brisket with Mac and Cheese. It wasn't that bad, i liked it, but it could've been better with some less cheese. The Mac itself wasn't bad either. The actual cheese wasn't dispersed evenly so some of it was just pasta and breadcrumbs. It's still Mac though so it's still tasty. I tried some of their ribs. If you like dry rub ribs, then you might like this place. Me personally, I prefer wet ribs. All in all, the place is tasty, but there are some things that can be done better.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my visit and I am excited to bring a few friends to try this amazing bbq. Hoping they have Mac and cheese when I go next time. I tried the dish that brings multiple cuts of meat. My favorite was the pork belly. The baked beans were delicious. Cornbread was great too. The frozen mango margarita was perfect in my opinion. I enjoyed my visit and my meal very much

Yelp
So unbeknownst to me until a few days ago a bbq joint snuck up and leased space right in my backyard. The co fusing thing about it is that the sign outside in front of the place says "Smoke Box" but that placed never seemed to materialize. I got out of my car and walked up to the door and saw La Traila. I had to wait several days until they opened on Wednesday to try it out. Now I know that just about everyone that's eaten some sort of bbq thinks they are an expert in the fine art of smoking meats but I actually do know a thing or two; bbq resume to follow. The place is tiny and the service is slow as molasses running uphill on a winter day but the bbq is pretty darn good. On this first visit I tried the 2 meat plate with two sides. I opted for the pulled pork and brisket and sides of Mac & cheese and potato salad. The pulled pork is excellent, the brisket was tender but a tad dry. I also ordered the the jalapeño & cheese sausage which was good but I've had way better. The Mac & cheese was mediocre at best. The same with the potato salad. Although the hidden MVP was their bbq sauce. It is a vinegar based bbq sauce that has excellent taste and consistency. I will return and try the ribs, both beef and spare and see where they rank.

Yelp
The food was great. Service also good. A couple of positive/negatives are: beans too sweet, Mac and cheese is great, potatoes salad average. Sides were $6, a bit expensive. I will definitely return.

Yelp
This is the best BBQ spot east of Texas! We have ordered the Trinity Platter to go on two separate occasions for our family and it easily feeds 6+ people and is absolutely delicious. It comes with 1lb of Sausage, Brisket, Ribs, & Pulled Pork and is served with 4 large sides, pickles & onions. The corn bread and brisket are particularly a big hit. We live in South Miami and came across this gem in a magazine and will not get BBQ anywhere else in Miami, despite it being a little far for us!
