Where To Have An Affordable Date Night

"Franklin and Co. tends to get lost in the frantic shuffle of Franklin Village, but this neighborhood tavern is a good spot to figure out how much this person doesn’t look like their profile pictures. The food is solid (they have a giant pretzel to share), there are TVs on the wall, and there’s a crazy selection of whiskey if that’s where the night seems to be headed. Bonus: If you need an out, just lie and tell them your friend has a UCB 101 show next door. No one will follow you to that." - brant cox, kat hong, brett keating

A Long-Awaited Mexican Restaurant Gets Ready to Serve Franklin Village - Eater LA

"There’s more casual Mexican food coming to Los Angeles soon, with the arrival of La Villita Cantina next month to one very well-known corner in Hollywood. The strip mall restaurant property has been completely overhauled to resemble a rustic town square somewhere in Mexico, from stone walls and exposed wood beams to colorful tile and cement pavers underfoot." - Farley Elliott

I didn't know that I have such a good restaurant right behind the corner! It's great because you can come here as vegan or non vegan together and both have great meal. The vegan menu is so good, so you can eat regular diet and order it without disappointment! My not vegan husband loved the vegan Korean chicken taco. I loved the vegan Baja fish taco so much. The cauliflower taco was also surprisingly full of flavor, I loved the cabbage and tahini dressing. The side of refried beans was fresh and delicious. My husband loved his mole enchilada, and we both loved the vegan Caesar salad. In the end we got also a yummy vegan dessert, which was gluten-free bread pudding with coffee ice cream! It was all so good! We are coming back! The staff is extraordinary nice and attentive. To everyone who is reading these reviews about high prices, I am adding a picture of our receipt...

Google
Cool Mexican restaurant in LA with great food and service. The Vegan El Dorado bowl was very tasty and the guacamole was really good.

Google
We had a table for dinner at 19.00h on a weekday. We had a Dorado burrito and a huevos rancheros taco. Both were amazing, really tasty and good. The service was good, and quick. It was worth the price as well. We would definetly recomment this place.

Google
The filet mignon fajitas was bomb! Added shrimp for extra $5. Amazing food. So tasty and perfect portions. Drinks- Jalapeño Cucumber margarita was delicious. Service was excellent as well. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and got a table near TV to watch our LA Dodger game with our 6 yr old son who’s a huge fan!! The only hard thing was finding parking. But it is Hollywood so we expected that. Luckily we found one right in front of the restaurant. Overall, excellent experience and we will definitely return soon! Thank you La Villita Cantina cooks, waiters, host, and of course bar tender. You are all doing a great job running your restaurant.

Google
This place just opened up and the food is deliciously awesome. A wide variety of taco options, ranging from meat to fish, will make your tongue dance, and the warm chips along with guacamole are an absolute must. Their bowls are served on a plate, and I highly recommend the Al Pastor one. The cauliflower is unique and the meat is soft like butter and very juicy. Lastly I'm really excited about the fact that they have stunning moctails. Rumors has it that they will serve a mango one. Their staff is super friendly, attentative and the prices are absolutely fair. You will not be disappointed. I highly recommend this place. Check it out!

Google
Excellent Food, Top Notch Service and a Beautiful Restaurant. What more can you ask for??? If you enjoy Mexican Food, do yourself a favor and drop in... give this place a try. You will be impressed. I really like the upstairs seating area. It felt like a VIP experience. I will be returning! Enjoy!!! #jsho @jshoeats

Google
Went during happy hour. It was packed. The service good and prompt. I enjoyed the Villita nachos: Freshly fried corn tortillas, yummy queso and packed with flavor. I could have done without the birria add-on I had the spicy watermelon grapefruit margarita—it was good. I’d definitely recommend and go back. My only negative feedback is the dogs inside the restaurant. There is a dedicated parking lot on Bronson, and timed street parking on Tamarind and Bronson. The walk paths and seating is too tight to have dogs taking up space. I love animals but I don’t like them in restaurants and grocery stores (around food).

Yelp
This is a solid place in the neighborhood whose happy hour until 6pm is one of the bests in town. The food is epic in its flavor and the options to make things tacos, burritos or bowls keeps us coming back to try different variations of foods. I suggest the ranch water, the quesadillas and the Baja fish as a burrito. Kevin is a kind server and the bartender is very fun! This place oozes with the smart talents of the nearby UCB Theatre : and Wacky spots like Birds next door!

Yelp
When the server said they have one of the best taco in town.... Sure enough he is saying the truth.. I had some friends came over from Canada and looking for a good Mexican food place and this spot fulfilled that request. From the starter of chips and the salsa and the GUAC.... So yummy! You guys must try the shrimp and cauliflower taco for some peeps not so meat eater like me .. this one is so delicious! From the taco, burritos and bowl entree i recommend them all! The service....AWESOME!! They sure will make you feel special and really will Take care of your request ASAP! It just like you are having a get together in one of Abolita's cucina or having an afternoon patio party .. Will definitely recommend this place specially for those who just came down from the Observatory tour so adjacent from the park .. Keep up the good service and good cooking, AMIGOS!!!

Yelp
VEGAN REVIEW Happened to be in the 'hood around lunch time & Yelp helped me find this gem SO EXCITED to have a ton of vegan options. Nachos, quesadillas, enchiladas, burritos, salads-- not just removing non-vegan items, but vegan meats & cheese. I got the chopped salad with vegan chicken which was delish. Also split the guacamole with my dining companion-- chips were super fresh & guac was tasty. Also got a yummy agua fresca. Cute & cozy ambiance. Indoor, outdoor & upstairs seating. Great friendly, attentive service. Parking is a nightmare of course Will return!

Yelp
I love these nachos and I had them with fillet the other day. The service is always efficient and friendly and the ambience was great because my dog Ruby and I sat outside and watched the interesting people on Franklin Avenue go by.

Yelp
Had a co-worker recently enjoy this place, and since I was in the mood for Mexican, decided to drop on in while in the area. Place had about three people inside since I came at such a random time (around 2:30-3). Bartender was friendly right off the bat, running things over to those few customers but telling me he'd be right with me. I had a few choices picked out (some tacos/bowls specifically) and I was curious about the chicken since I saw a review here saying they did thigh meat. Bartender pretty much told me that it was primarily dark meat, but the shredded chicken was white, so I went with the El Dorado taco, side of yellow rice, and chips/salsa. Another guy came by to see if I was being helped so I told him what I ordered, and he mentioned that thigh meat was white (?). I didn't have to wait long, and I was on my way. Taco was enjoyable! The meat was flavorful, and although it was a little messy since this was a larger taco and not a street version, I was thankfully alone so I didn't have to worry. The salsa isn't as chunky, as other reviewers have mentioned, but I was okay with this. Chip portion was plentiful too, and their rice was fine. I would be willing to try this El Dorado version as a bowl on a future visit in addition to their Mexican Caesar Salad and maybe their taquitos.

Yelp
My 2 girlfriends and I came here to celebrate a birthday and watch a show at the Improv theater next door. Parking is ALWAYS a challenge in this area. We parked about 2 blocks away in a residential area and walked over. Upon entering we were greeted by super friendly staff. There are plenty of seats inside as well as outdoor seating as well. Their menu was filled with plentiful food choices/drinks to choose from. I appreciated their non alcoholic/agua frescas drinks since I don't drink alcohol. Our waiter was really nice and attentive, he checked on us a couple of times and also gave really good recommendations. I ordered the Watermelon, Jalapeño, cucumber agua Fresca, and wow! 5/5 so so good. You definitely tasted the jalapeño, but it was also such a refreshing drink with the mix of watermelon and cucumber. I loved it I also ordered one single order of the Grilled Chipotle Shrimp taco. I'd rate this 5/5 as well. Ingredients tasted fresh and the tacos were a good size! Chips w/ guacamole and salsa are a must order here too! Towards the end of the night we got a flan birthday dessert for our dear friend and that was so good too! Loved this place and the friendly staff there. Highly recommend! Enjoy!

Yelp
Try this place Saturday i must say, i enjoyed everything we ordered. Ambiance is nice and we had a really nice waiter Warner i believe his name was. The asada tacos, burrito and soup was very tasty. Prices were also descent here. Im going to go back soon!

Yelp
Came here for lunch on a Sunday with my friend and her dog. We had to sit outside because of the dog but it was too sunny. They offered to bring down the canopy. They also offered and brought the dog water. Nice!! We started with chips and salsa which were both good. I got the Mexican Caesar with a Side of black beans. It was light and refreshing yet cheesy; it was enough for another meal later. My friend got the shrimp bowl. She comes here regularly but had not tried a bowl; she liked it. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Honestly? This place has quickly become my neighborhood staple. I love their margaritas and nachos. Every layer is covered in goodness and so satiating! However, last I was there.. There was a regular (i later found) who had his little dog with him, was loud and ridiculously obnoxious, yelling sexist commentary at the television, preaching his political philosophies, embarrassing his date, the bartenders, and distracting quite literally the entire restaurant with his need for attention and feedback. He interrupted a conversation I was having with my best friend on multiple occasions and felt entitled to be met with answers to his (many) racist, presumptuous questions. A couple of people went over to the bartenders to complain and it seems this wasn't the first time there was an issue with this man. Or second. Massive let down on managements side. Please resolve this issue so we could all eat our nachos in peace. Otherwise dope ass restaurant.

Yelp
Right on Franklin Avenue, La Villita has solid food options, including vegan (adore the flavorful vegan ceviche), and vegetarian. I like the simplicity of a bowl, burrito, or taco with your choice of protein in a pleasant setting. I prefer indoors to the popular noisy outdoor "look at me" sidewalk seating. Love the "side" options even if limited, which even some taquerias don't offer any longer so they can up charge for under consumed rice and beans. The guacamole is flavorful. And the happy hour until 6pm is super nice! Service has been very solid, so no complaints there. They know the menu, and share feedback from their experience or from clients. The only disappointment has been the cocktails. Dunno, but the times I have been there the drinks seem diluted somehow, and the flavors not bright, however yummy they sound on the menu. I have brought different people there and asked how is your drink. Each time there is a hmmm.... it is ok response. Not sure why, but no ringing endorsements. I'll keep coming because of the food and the convenience to my home. Will save my cocktail pennies for elsewhere.

Yelp
Been here for Happy Hour a couple of times. It's not too crowded, theres indoor and outdoor seating, food deals are great and the drinks are fantastic. Wonderful spot to meet up friends for a drink and some small bites. Service is always great here. Staff is so attentive and make sure you're taken care of. Haven't tried full on entrees yet, but definitely would love to come back sometime for a full meal experience!

Yelp
We were looking for a place to eat near UCB and this restaurant is right next door. We sat outside and the weather was perfect. I had the chicken nachos, while my friend had the steak burrito with red and green sauce. Honestly though my sister picked the winner of meals that day with Korean popcorn chicken bowl. All of the food was very tasty but that Korean chicken had excellent flavor. The portions were large and the service was great. I thought some of the reviews truly didn't give this place enough credit. I would definitely eat here again.

Yelp
Bienvenidos, a La Villita Cantina! A local East Hollywood Mexican Canteen of Cuisine off Franklin Ave. Parking is predominately street with some meters in front and a few shared spots directly on Tamarind (the side street just before the corner/light off this Cantinas intersecting street - Bronson Avenue, close to the Gelson's shopping center). Lots of residential/free spaces if you don't mind a stroll through a truly beautiful neighborhood. This inviting restaurant is worth it! Offering great seating options via their front outdoor patio, main dining area, bar area or their super popular upstairs loft (primero en llegar, primero en ser atendido!)... It definitely get taken first and quick! Once you do find your chair bliss you can enjoy happy hour from 3-6PM daily, brunch on weekends (11AM - 3PM) and amazing food y mas from 11 to 11, morning, afternoon or night. I'd been thinking of coming here a while for all times of day and have definitely passed "The Little Village Canteen" in traveling around this re-flourish side of Hollywood... Pero it wasn't until I asked this great guy out on a date, who loves Mexican food, did I realize what a great oportunidad it was. Our server was truly impressive, since I arrived a bit after my date with lovely 7PM rush hour traffic still in flow, he got us a nice spot right in front (top of his head pictured right in the entrance shot)... I was so taken in by the fun colors and layout that I missed him waving me over and walked all the way inside first lol only to realize the patio was the main patio in front... AYE!! One of the amazing gents at La Villita redirected to the very first table in front... A very laughable story moment... I blame my sometimes towering height especially in boots (6'2). When I did join him we had such a great time. We stuck to light non-adult beverage drinks (Mexican coke, the good stuff) though they have quite a variety with of everything such as specialties in signature cocktails, sangria, mimosas y por supuesto margaritas!! Te amo full bar situation! For food we started off with an order of classic chips and salsa, the chips super fresh and recently baked with a great salsa that's a little on the less chunky more light and juicy side which I don't mind at all. Dip those chips! The menu has some many options from ensaladas to tacos, burritos, bowls and enchiladas... Plus shareable: taquitos, quesadillas, street corn, nachos, fundido, guac, so many great things. Making a decision can be fun, but also wow! We settled on enchiladas, huge full plates with two "ladas," crema, guacamole, side of rice, refried beans and choice of sauce on top - the chile colorado being a recommend fav from out server (but was told all are great and all sauces are dietary friendly aka gluten free and vegan). I went with the vegan steak enchies and Harold had the smoked shredded pollo. Good portions and presentation for sure! We had no issues with anything including those prompt refills, questions about the menu and overall experience. I do right the tables had a bit more room between them in front, great intimate set up, but if you got to get up it's a sideways shuffle for most... the inside is the complete opposite. The restrooms in side are vintage advertisements and retro style art from Mexico that really pop. They have similar "vibras" in the loft and great thematic flow from the moment you step up to this must try bar restaurante. "Q" Tip: It's Self Seating - you can call ahead to see what the situation is like and/or make a reservation (good call for larger groups) Definitely hope to come back for all occasions and try more soon! Anyone up for some brunch? O bebidas? Happy Hour... Vuelve pronto!

Yelp
My friend and I were in the mood for a drink and a snack, so we stopped by a place she has frequented often. We both ordered a Margarita, which she said are good and they didn't disappoint. She got the spicy watermelon and grapefruit margarita and I got the mango mint margarita. She actually got a second drink but I can't remember which one it was. But she said it was just as good. If we are a full meal I would've wanted to try another drink as well as there's so many good options to choose from! We also ordered an appetizer: chips, salsa and guac. The salsa (not too spicy) and guacamole were good. Our server asked if we wanted more chips and we didn't ask if it was a charge, and said yes. Unfortunately the second batch was extremely salty that I ended up using my napkin to wipe them off before dipping, and they were kinda stale. But I had alcohol on an empty stomach and needed the chips to soak it up. On the bill it showed he charged us for the extra chips - just a note in case anyone was curious. They have an upstairs area that seemed nice, maybe I'll ask to go there if we go again.

Yelp
Ok, first it's hard to get me to eat out. I usually prefer my own good cooking, but this place is amazing. Today, I've officially tried all the tacos on the menu (within my diet restrictions/preferences). (1) the tacos are very fragrant with spices. Before you even take your first bite, it's already satisfying. Eating it is just overboard with euphoria. I would highly recommend the chicken shawarma taco. (2) I am a steak gal all the way, but I would say this place shines mainly with their chicken dishes. The char on their chicken is... amazing only because I can't think of a better word. I've eaten here a few times and the dishes have been consistent with perfection and taste. If I were to get the steak, I would say their best dish is Filet Mignon Al Carbon. NACHOS I've tried them. They're served in a unique way -- I was not a fan, but it wasn't bad. TAQUITOS my favorite appetizer. They even accommodated me when I requested for flour tortillas instead of corn. It was delicious. MARGARITAS come in many different flavors and mango is my favorite. It comes with in-house puréed mango juice, but all the ingredients here are fresh. All ingredients in the cooking are brought together in house and you can taste the difference in quality. PRICE so with all these positive qualities, I think the prices on the menus are justified. Not just an overpriced Hollywood restaurant. You will be satisfied.

Yelp
My friend and I happened upon this after having an issue with our reservation at a neighboring restaurant and I'm so glad we did. We ordered tacos, guacamole/salsa/queso, and a few drinks (all of which were delicious). The service was amazing, everyone was very kind and accommodating and I was a big fan of the ambiance as well! Very authentic!

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful, fun restaurant with a great bartender! The food was yummy but the reason why I'm not giving 5 stars is because they used chicken thigh meat! I'm sorry but dark meat is soo gamey and the only reason I couldn't finish my bowl Because everything in it was delicious (even guacamole which I'm not a fan of) but because of the dark meat I had to eat around it, thus still hungry But other than that this restaurant/bar is top notch! They even have this really cool/pretty upstairs seating area

Ruby D.

Yelp
The food and drinks here are amazing. My boyfriend and I have come a few times for happy hour and have gotten the nachos and margaritas. Very good prices and the best nachos I've ever had period. They are perfectly crunchy and flavorful and I cannot get enough of them!
google avatar

Yelp
Their menu is wonderfully diverse and they offer yummy fusion dishes. Great selections for Happy Hour too! Every time I come all the staff are very friendly and work really hard. It's a charming vibe day or night and they have upstairs and outdoor seating so it's quite spacious. I'm very grateful to live nearby.

Yelp
Sad to write this because I love, La Villita. My wife and I have been faithful diners and throughly enjoy the delicious food. I just experienced something very disappointing. Ordered food to go. A simple craving for a taco. Easy right? However, 20 minutes into the wait, I asked nicely about my order. I was told, "the order would be coming up shortly" after another inquiry, 15 minutes later. No taco. And then told, the order was never, "fired in the kitchen." With no apologies for this mistake from management, except from the bartender. I then asked for my order to be canceled and refunded. Done. Would of been nice for the restaurant to of acknowledged this mistake. Left with a disappointed impression. I'm sure I'll go back in the future, but this definitely left a bad taste in my mouth.

Yelp
These stars are all for the lovely bartender Nikki. I was next door and met a "friend" here for pre and après cocktails while attending an event next door. Nikki was super friendly, attentive and had the best suggestions snack and beverage wise. Met a regular or 2 and it's very chill spot that deserves a repeat appearance ... coming soon - me!

Yelp
First time at La Villita was perfect! Excellent customer service. Loved the indoor seating and decor. We really enjoyed the happy hour potato taquitos and margaritas! The Jalapeño and cucumber margarita was the favorite at the table.

Yelp
Service is always so friendly here. It's our neighborhood Mexican spot and I love it. Right on the Franklin village strip. I like sitting inside to get away from noisy Franklin traffic and the ambiance is good. I love the nachos vegetarian & cheese enchiladas. Great guac. The chicken taquitos are a bit dry. Otherwise great every time.

Geoff W.

Yelp
The food was good enough, had to pay for chips and salsa, and the Cadillac margarita was definitely not worth the price. Let me clarify that - it just wasn't very good. The price wasn't the issue, it was the quality. Parking isn't great. We parked at Ralph's nearby, not sure if that's ever been a problem for anyone else (towing or fines?) all in all we probably won't go back. Too many other places to try. They did have a cool little upstairs area with a few tables.
google avatar

Yelp
Grossly over priced and horribly understaffed. It's Saturday brunch and there is only one waiter. Poor guy is doing his best and getting peeled. We ordered the nachos...$19 for a tiny plate.

Yelp
Great service and excellent drinks. Would highly recommend. They have daily happy hour from 3pm to 6pm. Can't beat that!

Yelp
Who I think was the manager was rude. I ordered a burrito with beans, rice, guacamole, and salsa to go. It took about 25 min. It was ready in less time, but the manager was holding the order in his hand chatting with the employees in the kitchen. The woman who was the bartender (who was very nice and is the only reason this is not one star) noticed I had been waiting and went to get it from him. I took the burrito, left, and started eating it. It was made wet, which is not how I ordered it, but I didn't care. It didn't come with guacamole and barely had beans. It was essentially rice and tortilla. When I went to ask for a refund, the bartender went to get the manager. He came out pissed about how I had eaten half of it. I ate less than half, but whatever. He then chucked it in the trash and said angrily "3-4 days." I asked what he meant. And he said "it will take 3-4 days for the refund to come. YOU CAN LEAVE." He did not give me a return receipt, and I don't know if I'll ever see the refund, but that's not the point. This is some of the worst customer service I have dealt with. Had I not been in a rush, I would have been fine with them remaking it instead of the refund, but I didn't have time. I see that the owner reads some of these reviews. My recommendation is to fire the manager, or minimally have him not work in a customer-facing role, and promote the lady bartender to be manager. If you are looking for a manager, let me know, and I will recommend several people who can do a much better job than your current manager.

Yelp
I've lived in LA for 20 years and have been coming to Franklin Village ever since. The area is great. I consider myself a pretty discerning "Mexican food critic," and I must admit, there aren't many restaurants I would visit more than once in Hollywood, West Hollywood, or Beverly Hills. I had always hoped one day there would be a Mexican restaurant that was worthy of my patronage in FV. Happy to say La Villita is now one of my favorites to visit. It is cantina style Mexican food and it is fresh, and flavorful. IMO you can always tell how good a Mexican restaurant is by their chips, salsa, and guacamole-La Villita checks all the boxes with their yummy food. Their bartenders are friendly and professional. I especially think Cole is great. He always greets you with a warm smile and has a great attitude-even when he's busy, he always makes sure you are taken care of and feel welcome. Margaritas here are not watered or iced down and are so refreshing and delicious. They serve them with fresh juice. The restaurant is well lit and has a chill vibe. You can't keep me away from this place.

Yelp
Perfect spot to eat at before any LA show! We got to the location early and enjoyed some amazing food! Our waitress was so friendly and attentive! I'm looking forward to going there again! The ambiance of the location is amazing. East to find It's located right across the Church of Scientology.

Yelp
I like this place a lot the happy hour is great and the drinks are tasty! They have a couple different flavors for wings (like 5-7 flavors) and they're ALL SPICY AF!! Like unbearably spicy. Even one of the bartenders agreed with me that ever flavor is way too spicy and dang near inedible. So maybe give us at least one regular flavor with little to no spice please

Yelp
First time here from OC and we were blown away by the food ! We ordered way too much because we couldn't pick there were so many delicious options. My top 3 were the Quesoburia tacos, the nachos ! THE BEANS on the nachos were unreal. Usually beans are beans. These had so much flavor. Then I'd have to say the Thai chicken taco. So much flavor. Make sure you ask for the house made hot sauce ! Mango habanero They also have the most important thing that any Mexican restaurant can have. Real coke from Mexico ! Crazy good margaritas, hibiscus, prickly pear. Unique fresh ingredients you don't find. Friendly staff. We will be back. Thank you

Yelp
This place has all kinds of options! Dairy free, vegan, vegetarian and more. It's a super cute spot with tables inside and a couple tables outside for those with dogs. The enchiladas with chicken were A+. They did run out of mole so maybe that would've been even better option. The Korean popcorn chicken (vegan) were absolutely stellar!!! It was barely spicy and coming from a non-vegan I would order this again. It also does come in eat form as well!

Emy E.

Yelp
Everything here was amazing. I love the food here, they're very tasty and reasonable price. Beverages were flavorful as well. Me and my girls spent hours there because we had so much fun and were so comfortable there without knowing the time. The waiter we met was extremely friendly as well, he was working along but he was still very attentive and friendly. We appreciated him a lot. The only down side was parking, it's in a complicated parking area, the streets are busy and it's residential area, don't bring your car if you don't have to. I was lucky enough to find a parking since I was there during the day. And the bathroom has a weird huge almost see-through. It suppose to help prevent people running into each other but I do feel it was quite too big, you won't see the person inside the bathroom but likely enough to see a full face if you're in the right height, I'd appreciate it more if it's at least a bit darker. Note, this place is on rather a small side, they can fit if you have a party of 6-8 people but I'd say a party of 2-4 would be best, consider walking spaces. Anyway me and my girls loved the place and we glad we chose here for our little get together.

Yelp
This is my neighborhood go-to dinner/happy hour spot, and I just love it. I'm there literally once a week and even though I've tried several of their offerings, I now tend to get the same dish every time because their just so darn consistent with their food. Always big portions, nicely plated/presented, and very tasty! It's basically elevated cantina vibes where you could do a casual date night, grab happy hour drinks and nachos, or just eat dinner out front on the busy Franklin Village sidewalk and people watch.

Yelp
The best fajitas I've ever had. The freshness of the homemade tortillas and homemade Spanish rice were fantastic. I was also amazed at the tenderness and flavor of the filet mignon and Pollo. I can't wait to get back here, I had the Pollo enchiladas a few weeks ago and they were fantastic as well.

Yelp
Replying to the misleading review from Kabir below, Henry is one of the nicest and most welcoming managers I have ever come across, and I work in this industry. He is kind to every single guest, makes sure everyone has a wonderful experience, and I have never witnessed rude behavior as described below. La Villita is amazing because of Henry and his passion for his job. What shouldn't be taken lightly is a disgruntled customer lying about an employee. I love this restaurant!

Yelp
So good!! We came on a Friday around 5:30 and made it just in time for happy hour! They have happy hour 7 days a week!!! Anyhow, I was able to snag two HH margaritas and nachos. My kids shared a bean and cheese burrito, which they devoured. We also ordered shrimp fajitas (I recommend the green sauce over red). Everything about this place is cute. The decor, the atmosphere, the food and drinks--literally everything! I'm already planning my next visit.

Yelp
Best happy hour in Hollywood hands down. The jalepeno cucumber margarita is AMAZING. As well as the prickly pear, so many flavors to choose from! The nachos are really good with the beef Birria and my favorite burrito is the Korean popcorn chicken. Staff is so friendly and very accommodating to any request including putting on whatever game you want to see. Ask for the General Manger, Henry he'll help you out with whatever you need. 10/10 go check it out!

Yelp
My new favorite spot for Mexican in the neighborhood! The food and drinks are amazing. Definitely the best nachos I've ever had, might I recommend adding the filet. The restaurants vibe is fun and colorful just like the awesome servers! A friend and I came in last week and our server Victoria was so much fun, it was like hanging out with a friend. Definitely can't wait to go back and try everything on the menu. They also have a great happy hour.

Yelp
We saw a show at Upright Citizens Brigade and on a whim decided to grab a bite at La Villita Cantina next door. The staff was wonderful and our tacos (quesabirria, which is red chili, slow cooked brisket, cheese, cilantro and onion, with dipping sauce on the side) were really really really good, as was the agua fresca made with watermelon, jalipeño and cucumber. For dessert we shared flan and decided to share a coffee. The waiter made a fresh pot of coffee for us! Next time we're in the area, we'll definitely return! I should add that the ladies' restroom was immaculate and the walls are papered with super-cool old movie posters.

Yelp
Great little bar/restaurant. Some traditional style Mexican food and some more fusion cuisine. Fun atmosphere and friendly service.

Yelp
first customer (at the new location) here! I've been so excited for the cantina to open back up! the new location is super nice and the menu still has a bunch of options (vegan, vegetarian, meat, etc). the cheese enchiladas were great and so were the chips/salsa. I am super excited to see that they even have vegan cheese options. I tried the jalapeño-cucumber, guava, and blackberry margaritas and they were so tasty! definitely a new favourite place. they also have outdoor and indoor (upstairs, downstairs, and bar) seating. I can't wait to try more on the menu!

Yelp
Obsessed with this hidden gem. The food (authentic Mexican) is CRAZY good and the service is stellar. The owners are oftentimes on site and personally check in with patrons to make sure all are perfectly satisfied. I've also never had a bad drink here...and I've had many. #lush Atmosphere is cozy and festive and there is always a classy and fun crowd. Do yourself a solid and get up in there!

Yelp
got takeout and it was utterly tasteless. nothing mexican or any other flavor just a bunch of underseasoned gloop thrown in a bowl
