My husband and I decided to visit La Volta Pizza Club for the first time on a Saturday evening with a 5:30 pm reservation. Despite never having tried their pizza before, we were eager to experience it, especially after learning that La Volta used to be a pizza truck. Upon arriving, we noticed a small driveway to the right of the building, hidden among large trees. Following the driveway led us to a small free parking lot at the back, suitable for about 10 small compact cars. Additionally, there was some outdoor seating available on picnic tables, but we opted to enter through the back side door.
Inside, we encountered a cozy and quaint atmosphere. Interestingly, we discovered that La Volta serves as a temporary space for emerging restaurants, adding to its allure. A hostess guided us to our seats after we maneuvered around the bar area. Our server, Mylie T., welcomed us warmly and provided us with some time to peruse the menu. I ordered the cherry limeade ($7 alcohol-free), while my husband opted for the popular House Spritz ($8), both of which were delightful.
To kick off our meal, we selected the Arancini ($15) as an appetizer, followed by the Vodka Pie with an added touch of pepperoni for our main course. As luck would have it, we arrived during happy hour and received a $6 discount on our pizza. We also decided to enhance our dining experience by adding some chili oil ($2), which proved to be a tasty choice. For dessert, we were torn between two options, so we indulged in both the Amafreddo ($8) and the salted chocolate chip cookie, both of which were delicious and generously portioned for sharing. The warm cookie was a particularly delightful surprise.
Our evening at La Volta was made even more enjoyable by Mylie T.'s attentive service. She consistently checked in on us and ensured our glasses were never empty. We left the restaurant feeling thoroughly satisfied and already planning our next visit.
As a self-proclaimed pizza connoisseur, I must say that La Volta's pizza is on par with Home Slice, which is high praise coming from me. Having lived in NYC and experienced its renowned pizza scene, I can confidently say that both La Volta and Home Slice are exceptional.
With seating for about 30 people in the main dining area and an additional 16 seats in a smaller private room near the bar, making a reservation ahead of time is highly recommended to secure your spot at La Volta Pizza Club.
