Nestled in South Slope, Ladybird Bakery serves up an array of delightful house-made cakes, including the must-try Brooklyn Blackout Cake, in a cozy, charming atmosphere.
"A bakery in Park Slope, Brooklyn, known for its Brooklyn Blackout Cake. It faced a closure due to rent disputes but quickly reopened nearby." - Tierney Plumb
"Open since 1992, this was once one of two locations of Two Little Red Hens, a spot that hit its height of popularity during the cupcake craze of the ‘10s. The couple behind the bakeries split up, and one kept Two Little Red Hens uptown, which is currently closed, and the other renamed this Park Slope location to Ladybird Bakery. It recently moved to a new location just a few blocks away, but luckily remains selling their famous Brooklyn Blackout Cake. You can get it as a cupcake or in mini or large cake form (no slices). The mini cake is close enough in size to a slice that you can justify ordering one to eat for yourself in the small bakery." - Mike Chau
"Lady Bird, a Park Slope baked-good standby, is back open, this time in a new location in the South Slope." - will hartman
