Laghman Express - Review - Alpharetta - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"This Alpharetta offshoot of the famous Laghman Express in Brooklyn marks the first Uzbek restaurant for metro ATL. While the hand-pulled laghman noodles are the main attraction, they also have a nice selection of handmade boiled or fried dumplings, which should be on your table. Think: enormous steamed Central Asian manti stuffed with minced lamb and onion and well-seasoned fried beef wontons paired with a tangy yogurt dipping sauce to cut the richness. Round out your meal with the smoky lamb or juicy chicken kebabs and warm sips of their palate-cleansing citrus and mint-infused tea." - Candy Hom

Where to Find the Best Dumplings in Atlanta | Eater Atlanta

"Laghman Express in Alpharetta is the third outpost hailing from Brooklyn, New York. This restaurant is one of the first in the area, serving Uzbek and Uyghur items such as kababs, laghman (hand-pulled noodles), and lamb leg soup, along with lamb-stuffed manti and beef wontons. The Central Asian manty comes either steamed or fried, topped with onions and cilantro, served with yogurt, and eaten by hand. While this restaurant is fairly new, it’s been a welcome establishment with a good crowd." - Candy Hom

We've been visiting this place every other week and enjoyed every single visit. The stuff is really friendly and attentive. They are always ready to help with the menu and recommend something nice. Seems like we have tried half of the menu already, and everything tastes so delicious and flavorful. We were especially fond of manty, samsa, lagman and spicy chicken with rice. Also their lemonades are amazing. And they make a great raf coffee, which is really hard to find. I totally recommend this place for visiting, you won't regret it!

As soon as we heard of this restaurant, we knew we had to go to see if this tastes like home. It took us almost 1 hour each way from West Cobb but it was absolutely worth it. The food was amazing, manti burst with flavor and juices from lamb and onion, the lagman was amazing, I had to take extra with me to go. The services was on point, providing recommendations and descriptions, the staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. The whole service crew was very attentive and constantly cleaned ensuring there was nothing out of order. Everything tasted like Uzbekistan to me, the food was hot, the teas with fruits and spices was to die for. The portions are generous. I can't wait to go back.

I recently had dinner at Laghman Express – Central Asian Cuisine, and everything we tried was excellent. We started with the boiled wantons, which were incredibly juicy and flavorful – the filling was well-seasoned and the texture was perfect. The Tashkent plov was another highlight: tender meat, perfectly cooked rice, and rich, authentic flavor in every bite. We also tried the French fries with meat and vegetables, which turned out to be a really tasty and satisfying dish – generous portions and great seasoning. As a hot appetizer, the samsa was spot on: crispy outside, soft and savory inside. Overall, great food, good portions, and a nice place to enjoy Central Asian flavors. I’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend Laghman Express to anyone who wants to try something different and delicious.

Google
The service was incredible, the food was AMAZING, and the restaurant itself was beautiful with cultural art and items. We ordered and it took 5-7 minutes to get it all, we were astonished! We got fried wontons as appetizers, very tasty. I got the lamb Plov and it was incredible, my girlfriend got the dry fried noodle and it smelled incredible. The servers were very quick to pick up dirty dishes, one recommended the honey cake, which we rightly decided to order and it was AMAZING. Not too sweet, very soft, perfect to share. We definitely will be coming back again, and I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant to everyone.

We had an amazing experience at Laghman Express. Our server Al was incredibly helpful and friendly. He took the time to explain the dishes, made great recommendations, and made sure everything came out perfectly. We ordered the Guyurou Laghman, which had the perfect balance of spice and flavor with chewy noodles, the Central Asian Manty that were soft, juicy, and delicious, the Taskent Style Plov full of rich comforting flavor, and the Lamb Chops that were tender and perfectly seasoned. We finished with the Napoleon, a light and flaky dessert that was the perfect ending to the meal. Everything tasted fresh and authentic, and Al’s excellent service made the experience even better. We’ll definitely be coming back and recommending Laghman Express to our friends.

Recently one of our family friends invited us with our kids to this restaurant during our visit in Alpharetta GA. This is the first time, I have eaten such a wonderful restaurant in US. The design of this place is different from a traditional restaurants or cafes. It gives you the same atmosphere like you are in Uzbekistan. Foods are very delicious and everything is halal. The service is beyond my expectations. The owners were so nice and checking every table to make sure customers were happy with their order. I recommend to stop by this restaurant to everyone who visits GA. If you decide to eat here, it is always better to reserve your table for your convenience.

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, with fresh flowers and a very clean environment. The open kitchen is a nice touch, as you can see the chefs working carefully and keeping everything spotless. The food was delicious, flavorful, and served in generous portions. Everything came out quickly and hot, which made the whole dining experience even better. The staff deserves special praise — they are friendly, attentive, and always ready to help, yet never intrusive. The service felt genuine and respectful. Another great point is the spacious parking area, which makes visiting the restaurant very convenient. Overall, this place combines tasty food, great service, and a warm atmosphere. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for both comfort and quality.

Google
Hands down the coolest restaurant I have ever been to. The food is insanely good. The flavors are phenomenal. I can’t rate this restaurant high enough. Please go experience this restaurant. It is sooo worth it. Get the Moroccan Tea and Pumpkin dumplings to start. Literally any of the entrees. Then get the Honey cake for dessert.

Yelp
My friend and I arrived on a busy Friday evening and everyone was so kind and hospitable. It was our first time and our first time at a Uzbek restaurant, so our server took the time to explain the menu and a few popular dishes. Everything tasted great -- noodles and dumplings had a nice bite to them. You can tell they were made fresh. Everyone was so proud of serving their food and sharing their culture with newcomers. Everyone was so welcoming. We'll definitely be back.

Yelp
****4.5 stars**** Ahhh Laghman Express might be one of our new halal favorites!! The inside was super cute too!! This was our first time experiencing Uzbek food and culture, and we loved it! We got fried wontons to share, Tashkent Plov and the special of lamb chops. Everything was sooo good. They also had a wide variety of mocktails, drinks, and milkshakes. I got the classic mojito, which was delicious. We wanted to get dessert and a milkshake after dinner, but unfortunately it got very busy and our server did not come back for a while. When she did come back, we got the check. Hope to try their napoleon and snickers milkshake next time! Overall had a good experience

Yelp
Guyurour laghman recommended was spot on with deep umami from the tomato and spices, a great gateway to start your venture into the Central Asian cuisine. Remind you of the Uyghur noodles that Northern Chinese cuisine displays as their own. That doughy, uneven cuts of noodles proved it was handmade. Definitely will revisit as long as I am in the area. Good job, oila!

Yelp
Amazing food and service! Even though they were very busy, our server checked in with us regularly and our food came out fast. You can really tell that the owners and staff pour their heart and soul into this place. Highly recommend!

Yelp
One of my Uzbek co-workers took a bunch of us here for lunch, and we had a really good experience. The space looks small from the outside, but it's quite large inside. They've done a nice job of making a modern decor. They start out the meal with complimentary rolls, which were very tasty. For my lunch, I tried the dry noodles were chicken, and I really liked that dish. They made their noodles in-house every day. The dish didn't have any spice to it, but there is a very good spicy oil you can sprinkle on top. There is a varied menu, and my Uzbek co-worker said the dishes are authentic. The only other location of this restaurant is in Brooklyn, so I think it's pretty cool they chose Alpharetta to open in. Service was great also, and there is plenty of parking in the shared lot.

Yelp
We like the ladziao rou the best. Overall their meat dishes are great - very flavorful. The cucumber salad is more like large slides of cucumber vs what the name suggests "smashed", but flavor wise it is good. It came out last, so we took it home and chilled it in the fridge for a day. The next day, the cucumber absorbed all the sauces and it tasted even better. The dry fried noodle is not too memorable, just a typical Chinese stir fried lomien.

Yelp
Such a great add to the ATL metro area! I love Uzbek food (one of my favorite cuisines), so I was so excited to hear a new place opening up! Laghman Express delivered The interior is really clean, bright, and nicely decorated with lots of seating. We tried the dry fried noodles, spicy chicken (surprisingly tender and flavorful!), and the samsa (beef was soooo tender). Absolutely delicious food - a great balance of spices like cumin and black pepper with good seasoning. Nothing we tried was super spicy, rather just well flavored. They did offer chili oil on the side to add spice if you wish. As an establishment opened just over a week ago, as expected there were some issues with service. However the staff is super friendly and seems to be trying their best, so I'm sure there is a learning curve still in progress. Hope to be back to review again!

Yelp
Atlanta's first Uzbek restaurant! It's my first time trying Uzbek cuisine, I'm `pretty impressed! They are known for halal dishes and hand-pulled noodles, i really like Guyurou Laghman and Dapanji Noodles. The fried manty is a must-try for lamb lovers.

Yelp
Just when you start thinking everything tastes the same, central Asian cuisine shows up. This is Laghman Express' second location, coming out of Brooklyn. Why Alpharetta? I dunno, but I'm grateful to be able to try something new. With the name Express you probably think fast casual. It's not. It's full service. The cuisine varies with great range and flavor. Some things like the spicy lamb is spiced very well, but others were a little bland like the lamb schwarma. The dumplings and Laghman noodle soup were tasty. I'm looking forward to trying other stuff like their fish. Can't say enough good things about the seating. Super comfortable and modern. They run the bill table side so eating with a group is super convenient. Gotta check this place out!

Yelp
Lots of open space parking available. Outdoor was very cute with the white table cloths and pretty flowers. They had a fan with mist on outside which doesn't settle well with the white cloth table setup. Coming in there was no receptionist standing at the desk but someone approached promptly with a smile. Inside was well lit and clean. I felt like I walked into Central Asia. Food was amazing , limited selection but that's not going to stop me from coming back and introducing others to the first central Asian restaurant in Atlanta. The bread was unforgiving, salad hit the refreshing spot and the meat was well cooked. Service was alright, they could tighten up a bit maybe pour glass of water, check up on the customer sooner than later. If you're into trying new cultural cuisine, this should be your first stop. I could see this turning big. Congrats on the opening!

Yelp
I used to live in Uzbekistan and it's hard to find Uzbek cuisine anywhere! I ordered a lot of food just to taste and reminisce and it did not disappoint! Get the plov! It's the national dish and it's legit!

Yelp
Sixteen of us stopped tonight for dinner. Even though we thought they knew we were coming, they didn't. Space was quickly provided in their outside dining area - which was very pleasant. Several of us needed boxes to take our leftovers home. Service was excellent! A variety of drinks were ordered, while several of us drank water. Numerous chicken, lamb, and beef dishes were on the menu along with several vegetable choices. Central Asian cuisine was well received!
google avatar

Linda R.

Yelp
A wonderful experience, no rushing, very friendly and helpful service. The food was delicious, we had dry fried noodles and the honey cake. The most outstanding was the moroccan mint tea, it had citrus and other fruits in it and was outstanding!

Yelp
The food was good . It's a bit similar to the food in Xinjiang. I like that fried noodles!

Jai S.

Yelp
Amazing food, service was excellent. We loved everything we ordered, the Samsa was incredible, the dry fried noodles (with hand pulled noodles) were some of the best I've ever had. And that honey cake, perfect way to finish an amazing meal.

Yelp
My husband and I were delighted to discover this new Central Asian restaurant in Alpharetta. The hand pulled noodles with beef were wonderful and fresh, so was my husband's entree with lamb. We also had dumplings with fresh pumpkin, a salad and fresh fruit compote (juice). All of the dishes were fresh and lovingly prepared. Ambiance is very pleasant, and the restaurant is new and sparkling clean. All of the staff seemed to be young and energetic, mostly from Central Asia. We look forward to returning often and introducing our friends to Central Asian cuisine!

Yelp
I've been here twice and had similar experiences both times. Walking in, it feels like there's no real reception area, no welcome, but they have the space to make this happen. They are very busy during peak times, so plan on a short wait. The service is friendly and good. The menu is very limited for a restaurant of this type. I would like to see more soups and salads selections, maybe some green borscht. The quality of the food is good, but the freshness is hit and miss, I'll explain. If you order Samsa, it could be fresh or it could have been sitting out, ready to serve for awhile. I'm sure they do this to improve the speed of service, but I prefer ALL my food be fresh made, when I order. This is the same for anything baked or fried, hit or miss. The cold selections are good and have authentic flavor, best part of the menu. The kabobs are good, but not great, which is a big letdown. The pieces of meat need to be bigger and cooked slower. I think this menu is built for speed instead of comfort. I know they want everyone to enjoy their food and experience their restaurant, but if they just slow down a little bit, I think everything would improve. They're okay now, but they could be great. I really want them to succeed and be the best restaurant, because there are no other restaurants like this in the area. I'll update this when I see a change. I forgot to take more pictures, but here's a couple.

Yelp
If you're craving an authentic taste of Central Asia without the 14-hour flight, Laghman Express in Alpharetta is an absolute gem! What We Tried: Crispy Eggplant Salad - Fresh, vibrant, and perfectly balanced. Lamb Soup - Comfort in a bowl. A fragrant, clear broth filled with tender lamb, carrots, and herbs. It was the perfect start to our meal . Mixed Grill Platter - A carnivore's dream. Juicy lamb kebabs, chicken, and beef, all perfectly grilled. The addition of sautéed vegetables and fresh onions elevated the dish beautifully. Tashkent Plov: Absolutely outstanding! The rice was fragrant and fluffy, with tender beef, sweet carrots, and a delightful mix of spices. The green onions added a fresh crunch. A must-try. Dumplings: They were soft, juicy, and packed with flavor. Ambiance & Service: The setting is casual yet charming, with warm hospitality that makes you feel like family. The food presentation was rustic and beautiful--especially the mixed grill served on a carved wooden platter. Highly recommend: everything is delicious but my favorites are Tashkent Plov, crispy eggplant, crispy chicken dry noodles.

Yelp
Second time at this restaurant just so we could have plov and it did not disappoint. Get the plov!!!! Delicious! While you're at it get the seabuckthorn tea because my entire table loved it. I'm so happy this place is open.

Yelp
The food is excellent! The service is delightful! The space is charming and very clean. And yes, it's easily worth the drive. I live in N DeKalb and I've been multiple times. Go. Seriously. Go.

Yelp
Nice new restaurant in Alpharetta. Service and food were exceptional. First time having Uzbek food, but will definitely be back. Started with the fried eggplant and tomatoes with citrus chili dressing. Had a samsa while waiting on entree. Wife ordered a pitcher of Moroccan tea. Had the cumin fried lamb as the finale. Everything was really good and would eat again. A little off the road, so you would never find it by accident. Larisa was our server and is highly recommended.

Yelp
What a gem this place is! Delicious food, clean, bright and open feel to the restaurant and impeccable service. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Went to is Uzbec central Asian Halal restaurant that has recently opened in Alpharetta. The food was busting with flavors, the cumin lamb and the dry beef noodles were amazing, the service was quick and very nice cute ambiance. I would definitely recommend this place, although Atlanta had a bunch of international cusine this is the 1st Uzbek restaurant here. The chain is from Brooklyn NY and it did not disappoint, meat lovers paradise

Yelp
My experience tonight was awful. The first time I came here service was the reason I downed my stars but tonight.... The food was terrible. It wasn't that busy so it really didn't make sense but the rice was cooked in some weird stale butter/oil it was TERRIBLE. I got home and immediately felt like I needed to yack. The lamb dish was WAY too chewy. Everything was disgusting. Super disappointed, won't be returning here.

R K.

Yelp
We liked it. Not the best place to visit on weekend nights though - they seem to be having more customers than they can comfortably handle. Shawarma dish was bland and appeared stale, but the rest was very high quality. We will be back.

Melissa H.

Yelp
Mouth watering flavors, gorgeous teas, excellent service! Worthy of a Michelin Bib Gourmand distinction, IMO.
google avatar

Eric S.

Yelp
One of the worst food experiences I've had in years. Not only was the bread stale and the service kind of clueless, but my dish never arrived after almost an hour of waiting. The waitress brought out a basket of lukewarm stale doughnuts while I waited and then told me that if I was willing to wait another 15 minutes, I could have my meal. And then we get the bill and we were charged for everything. Yeah, no thank you. Avoid at all costs.

Tamara B.

Yelp
So delicious!!!! 10/10 recommend we all loved our foood! So flavorful!! I will be coming back and bringing more friends.

Tony A.

Yelp
Every dish was bursting with flavor--absolutely delicious. Service was prompt, professional, and made us feel truly welcome

Marina D.

Yelp
Insanely delicious food, salad with eggplant won us over. Very pleasant atmosphere in the cafe itself. Attentive staff. We were served by Alsu, she found an approach to children, recommended dishes for them, they were satisfied. We will come back again and again.

Jessica G.

Yelp
Such a welcoming and comforting place! The food was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented! Our server Alsu was incredibly helpful and attentive from the moment we sat down. Alsu made sure we had everything we needed. Her warm and friendly energy made us feel genuinely cared for!

Sania N.

Yelp
Excellent food - quality is top notch. Highly recommend the dry noodles very flavorful. They do get a bit crowded so I'd recommend a reservation. We got take out and it was efficient. It was also raining so I went to pull my car closer and the host/owner ran out to my car with my order so I wouldn't have to get out again. Very nice and thoughtful!

Stuart M.

Yelp
I really enjoyed the eating experience here today. The ambience was very pleasant and especially clean. Service very good, but most importantly the food is excellent. 6 stars if I could. Thank you for the delicious meals for my family.

Bahar A.

Yelp
The food was amazing and the servers were kind and accommodating. The restaurant itself is a wonderful environment. It looked really clean and well decorated.

Yulia K.

Yelp
Amazing food, very authentic atmosphere and excellent customer service. I will come back.

Yelp
Truly authentic and tasty Plov!!! Great Laghman. I did not like Samsa, they need to improve it!

Laura B.

Yelp
I went there for lunch and was thoroughly impressed by the quality of both the food and the service. The restaurant was spotless, and the ambiance was excellent.

M K.

Yelp
Great food. Excellent service and welcoming staff. We will try the teas and shakes next time.
