The Best Spots For Lahmajun In LA

"It’s right there in the name—this place is a well-oiled machine. The lahmajune is reheated from ready-mades like slices in a pizza shop, but you won’t care once you bite into one, with a spicy, aggressively seasoned meat paste that grabs your attention.. You should also try the esfiha, a thicker, even spicier flatbread that could double as a meal, but only costs a cool $3. They have a couple of tables to hang out at, but most people are in and out faster than you can say Lahmajune Factory." - sylvio martins, andrew ryce, brant cox, cathy park

The 19 Best Restaurants in Glendale

"This Glendale strip mall spot is known for its lahmajune, a thin Armenian pizza topped with ground beef, tomato, onion, spices, garlic, and more. The rest of the menu features beoroks (also spelled as beorogs) stuffed with cheese or spinach, mana’eesh with za’atar and cheese, and more." - Rebecca Roland, Matthew Kang

Google
Just bought Soujouk cheese bread and came to my office to eat. I am eating potato cheese instead. how hard is it to give a customer the correct item?

Google
Haven’t had this since elementary school when my fellow class mate brought some in and so I was craving some and went to this awesome spot and this tasted just as good and authentic as I remembered. Good customer service as well, very welcoming.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Lahmajune is truly the best of the best when it comes to authentic Mediterranean bakery cuisine! The quality and taste are unmatched, even rivaling the original dishes from the mother country. For the first time in my life in the USA, I’ve experienced such delicious, high-quality food. You must try the Safiha Shamiye, Sujuk Pizza, Cheese, and Zaatar. Every bite is absolutely amazing! I didn’t have the time to try the whole menu, but I can’t wait to go back and explore more. The owners, Rafi and Lena, are incredibly kind, warm, and attentive. They maintain a clean, welcoming environment that reflects their pure-hearted nature. This is a wonderful Armenian family-run business that goes above and beyond to make every visit special. Thank you for such an amazing experience!

Google
Lamajun and jalapeno and cheese beorek were incredible. Will be back to try more of their dishes

Google
Been here several times. Always eaten the Lahmajunes! The cheese or spinach Beorek’s are great too. Always friendly and helpful. Will continue to comeback and recommend to more people!

Google
One of the best cheese beoregs I've had, compared to others who barely fill any cheese. This place fills the cheese and so you are really treating all the cheese and spices. The Lahmajoun is very tasty as well, and the triangle non-spicy cheese is excellent. I've already been there 3 times in the past few weeks. Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Haven't tried other items on the menu yet but their Lahmajo is pretty good! I go there about once a month at least. Just be aware that on the weekends you might want to call in your order if you are not prepared to wait at the restaurant, they do get busy. Tip: always squeeze some lemon on your Lahmajo

Yelp
Tucked away in an unassuming strip-mall, Lahmajune is a modest no-frills hidden gem cranking out delicious Armenian baked meat, cheese, and vegetarian freshly baked bread pastries. We sat on one of the few tables inside and enjoyed some of the meat pies we ordered in the shop and then took the rest to-go that were just as delicious warmed up the next day.

Yelp
I've had this on my list to try for a while. I finally stopped by and was greeted by very friendly attendants who didn't seem upset that I wasn't sure what I wanted or even exactly what they had to offer. It's got small Mom & Pop vibes and is clean and simple inside. They have a large selection of Armenia traditional breads, many of which are there to take home or can be heated and eaten at their small dining area. I selected a few items I'm familiar with, of course a Lahmajune, a cheese boreg, a zatarr and chesse (unfortunatley they were sold out of those) and a cheese and potato roll. They ran them through the oven quickly to get them just the right temp to eat and I was able to enjoy them right away. Everything was great.

Yelp
Sadly, I do t believe this bakery is too fresh. I've always had negative experiences with the food. Today I was given a spicy cheese borkek and when I had it, it didn't seem fresh and it has a very thick feel and old taste of dairy. Fast forward towards the end of rhe night, excuse my honesty, but I am stuck in the bathroom removing it out of my body. I don't want to say it's food poisoning because that is not fair to the restaurant if it's not confirmed, but it sadly sure feels like it.

Yelp
Finally found a bakery in Glendale that makes authentic middle eastern savory baked goods! I've tried many other bakeries but all were bland and had no flavor! Lahmajune, Shanglish, and spicy cheese boreg was delicious and full of flavor. They should consider third party delivery options. Definitely will be coming back.

Yelp
Ate 2 lehmajunes from Lehmejune factory yesterday Friday Dec 20, and I'm pretty sure (cause I had no other foods that day) I got food poisoning. I was miserable all night with vomiting, stomach pain and diarrhea. It's now 24 hours and although the symptoms subsided, I have no strength to get out of bed. I called Lehmejune Factory this morning to report the event, they rejected any responsibility and answered "suit your self" when I stated that I was never going back there. Extremely rude and unprofessional staff!

Yelp
Quick stop, delicious food. Has all of the basics that you look for in a lahmajune shop- and more! Love the string cheese bourek concept.

Yelp
Delicious lahmahune!! So tasty!! And lots of flavor!! Went in for a quick bite to go and it was ready within a few minutes warmed up. Parking can be difficult at times since it's so limited. But food it great! Very casual.

Yelp
Lahmajune was a big sis at our house. Service was great. Price was good places easy to find will be back travel from Palm Springs California just to talk here and we were not disappointed.

Diana G.

Yelp
Always delicious and fresh! They have vegetarian options. Quick service. Clean facility.
google avatar

Gary T.

Yelp
Tasty lahmajune, always fresh! Hot off the oven for dine-in or take a box to go. Boereg is very good too. Staff is always friendly. Just don't go during lunch rush hour, you might wait in line 10-15 minutes. The bakery is next to a 7-11, in a busy shopping center so parking can get tricky...
google avatar

Yelp
This is an all time favorite. So authentic and delicious. You cannot go wrong with this place they bake them from scratch every 30 minutes. Service is always accommodating and the location is really good. They are super busy every time I go in there.

Jennie K.

Yelp
I found hair in my food. Absolutely disgusting. Their food doesn't even taste that good. I also heard some loud Armenian/Russian music. The employees were rude. Would not recommend

Hanson S.

Yelp
Came in to ask how long the wait would be for lahmajune before ordering and she just shook her head and dismissed me immediately and started helping another customer. 1 star for the customer service.

Elizabeth A.

Yelp
Every single time I'm in Glendale (2-3 times a month) - I make an attempt to stop here and pick up Lahmajune for the family. Every single time I get told they don't have anymore and ran out. I come here at random days and times and they always run out. This morning I was there before 10AM and they had only preorders. None they can give me. Makes me disappointed every time. I don't even want that many - just a couple and they don't have it. They need to do something about this because this leaves a bad impression on their business. I'm just sick and tired of it!
google avatar

Yelp
The 1 star it's for service, the girl who takes orders it's very unprofessional and rude. I called in to order for pick up , when I came my order was not ready ... She said you want warm Up I said my order is not ready???? She did not care what I ask she was continuing helping other customer. After she start to prepare my order and I wait 15 min Then why I called ???? To wait .:.: Previous lady who worked there was very nice and friendly .... This new young girl needs a training big time ! But food is very good it's delicious 5 star I want to upgrade my review to 5 stars , because I like the place and owner is very nice with his respond to my negative review. love the food My favorite place

Yelp
Best morning lahmajo I've ever had. Cool place! If you've never tried tan or sweet gata -- this is your chance :) very nice people, absolutely recommend.

Yelp
Great spot to try Armenian-style pizza. They have both beef and vegetarian options (it looks like they recently added the vegetarian). Really tasty and unlike anything I've tried before. It seems their prices have gone up (compared to some of the reviews here) so it is $1.75 for each lahmajune. Honestly, that's still pretty cheap. I also tried a beoreg (stuffed pastry). It was HUGE for 4.95. I ordered the string cheese one (Armenian cheese and caraway seed). It was yummy. The service was really friendly. PARKING: It's located in a tight mini-mall and there are a couple of spots dedicated to this particular business. It looks like each business claims their respective parking spots so you might have trouble finding a spot if it's busy. There is also open parking behind the mini-mall, as well as street parking, which might honestly be easier than the claustrophobic plaza parking.

Yelp
Great lahmajune! Friendly service. Will return soon.

Yelp
This place is a very good spot to grab a nice Middle Eastern snack in Glendale. The place itself is pretty small and is primarily a to-go place which is good to know. Service is very efficient and straight to the point. The taste of most of their foods I find is good quality and tastes really good. My favorite is the Lahmajune and the Spicy Cheese.
google avatar

Susan S.

Yelp
Great place , fast service, food is absolutely delicious! If you are near the area stop by its so worth it ...and while your at it take a dozen home ..you can freeze em
google avatar

Yelp
If your Armenian then you should know what great lahmajune tastes like. In my opinion this place is not the least expensive place but definitely the best tasting. I make the drive from northridge just for this place. You must try at least once to appreciate the quality and taste.
google avatar

Shane L.

Yelp
There are so many yummy treats here - savory pies with different fillings. It's so very reasonable as well. I got a box of treats, beef filled, cheese, potato, spinach, cheese and jalapeño. I brought them to work and to a dinner and both parties loved them. They reheat really well too the next day!

Yelp
It is with a heavy heart that I write this review as I was a regular customer for this place since they had opened and it was one of my favorite spots in Glendale as a local who loves to support Armenian businesses. My experience yesterday was incredibly humiliating and disrespectful. I went and bought 3 spicy boreks, 6 lamajune, and 2 Zatar breads. After eating one Borek, i got sick an hour later throwing up. I didnt think much of it until i tried to serve the same boreks to my guest, and they were disgusted with the smell and taste saying this has to be old or rotten cheese. This has never happened to us before, so I thought it was just an honest mistake. I went back and spoke to the same lady who helped me gave me such a hard time. For 40 minutes, she kept gaslighting me, talking at me saying "this smells like jalapeno thats how cheese smells" " I made it today thats impossible because you're the only one complaining " "well if I gave you another one its the same from today" "the manager isnt here i dont know what you want me to do" (mind you i came in at 8:30 am and the bread was cold, idk) .I was being very patient and kind with her, explaining how it was just a mistake but three people had an issue with the food and I myself got sick. She was ABSOLUTELY talking down at me, giving me attitude, after I told her your food made me sick. Eventually, my mom got on the phone with her and said if its so fresh you eat it, since she was giving me such a hard time. I am absolutely ASHAMED at how a business can humiliate you for nearly AN HOUR for a 20$ refund when you tell them their food made you SICK. How cheap are you? How UNCIVIL are you? She explained to be that the manager will call me tomorrow for a refund of the cheese boreks, but I will absolutely NEVER be coming back after the absolute hell that woman gave me.Any other business Armenian or not would have given me all fresh food or a refund for my order instantly, not talked down at me for nearly an hour while helping other customers and saying MAYBE youll get a refund for your order if the manager calls you tomorrow. It is the end of their work day and I did not receive a call. She didn't apologize once to me.It is a shame, I used to love this place. I will be sure to NEVER recommend this place to anyone. The upmost worst customer service I have ever experienced.

Araksi D.

Yelp
Burned Mini spinach bureks The problem is not the first time Check your order before you pay to not get disappointed at home

Megan A.

Yelp
Lahmajune Factory is the best in town. Delicious and fresh. I highly recommend Lahmajune factory. Trust me won't regret it
google avatar

Rocco M.

Yelp
Located in Glendale serving awesome Lahmajoun! Full spectrum Armenian and Lebanese goodies. Served by the nicest guy who goes by the name of Derek. Definitely make a stop if you're in the area. Fully covered minced meat pizza I have to say by far is the best in LA.
google avatar

Annie S.

Yelp
Literally the only place I eat lahmajun from. The dough is thin and crispy, the meat is delicious, there's no orange oil seepage or heartburn. The meat has a light sujoukh taste. I love this place. The meat and cheese boureg is nice too
google avatar

Rima R.

Yelp
I use to come here a lot. But today might be the last. The two ladies up front were wearing masks only covering their mouths. Then when no one was looking they would pull it under their chin. They weren't wearing any gloves and kept touching their face and hair. They allowed a customer to come in without a mask and purchase food. Then when the cook made an appearance she wasn't wearing a mask. To make matters worse.... none were wearing hairnets and have long hair. I feel weird asking for a refund because we are suppose to be supporting local businesses. When I got home my order was incomplete.
google avatar

Marioo S.

Yelp
I love this place, very authentic Armenian and Lebanese bakery! Best string cheese borek
google avatar

Jonathan H.

Yelp
This is a classic case of I've been passing this place every day for the past few years and finally decided to stop by... Besides the nice staff here, the Lahmajune is right on!! Super thin, crispy, tasty, always fresh and goes for $1.25. One of those places that keeps prices reasonable. I couldn't Recommended more. This is my third time there and I also tried the cheese Zaatar baked as well as the Zaatar only baked and it is absolutely amazing, they made it for you right there on the spot no heating up. Must try highly recommend it!
google avatar

Julie F.

Yelp
I have tried the lahmajunes from various Armenian bakeries in Glendale--Taron, Saipan, and Sasoun. I finally visited The Lahmajune Factory (I don't know why it took me so long) and thought their lahmajunes tasted the best. They were good sized, flavorful, not skimpy on the toppings, and not too thin like some other places. If you buy 6 or more, they are $1.25 each. I also tried a cheese beorek and it was good as well. I have a new favorite place to buy lahmajunes when I make the trek out to Glendale!
google avatar

Hovik A.

Yelp
These guys know their Lahmajune. Lahmajune is Armenian pizza! Its a wonderful mix of spices and meat served warm on a pita. I came here with my cousin this week for the first time and I was impressed. Almost like my grandmother makes. LOL ok not that good, but I will be back! They have a decent borek too, which is a cheese filled pastry. Nice for a quick snack if youre driving through Glendale.
google avatar

Giselle E.

Yelp
I've only had Lahmajune from one other place but this one was def good! It was so affordable and the girl who rang me up was very nice!

Imad M.

Yelp
They have bad service they never open on time. They leave me outside more than half an hour then never look at me outside waiting to open. Berlin say hi.
google avatar

Gerry M.

Yelp
Try it and you will really like it!!! This form of Armenian pizza is the best!!! Enjoy!!!

A B.

Yelp
This place is a joke! I've been coming here for a week at 8 am and they are never open. The employees stare at u like deer in headlights surprised people are behind the door. It's a depressing looking place and service sucks. Sever tone looks beat up and depressed and the food isn't all that good. I rather drive to Byblos since they know what customer service is and time is actually a real thing! Literally starting by the door and it's 8:28 and they are still closed! What a joke!
google avatar

R X.

Yelp
Not bad, I grew up on Lahmajune. Nothing compares to Partamian's before it closed. These had a very tomato taste and another spice I wasn't too familiar with. Likely a regional difference. They were just okay
google avatar

Johh W.

Yelp
Best ever ! I live in San Diego now ! But the mother of my kids brings it to me every month! Best I ever had
google avatar

Sherman F.

Yelp
Very inexpensive and delicious. Unique armenian dishes so a good change of pace. The namesake dish was so low price with meat and spices on flat bread. The spinach beorek is big and stuffed with well flavored spinach. There is parking with a few spots just for the restaurant.
google avatar

Rochelle P.

Yelp
Went here for a good cheap lunch one day because we needed to go to the market nearby. Lahmajune is Armenian pizza. Love the very thin crust... It's not crunchy but it has a nice texture and they know how to make their breads! There are different bread snacks there, filled with potato and jalapeno, different meats, etc. I'm pretty new to a lot of this food so it's hard to remember the names for everything. But for the price you can't beat it. Two of us ate here with additional drinks (I had a yogurt drink) and it was only $12! Only thing is it was a little hot inside. Is probably just pick food up and take it home with me next time. Service was very lovely and accommodating. Excited to try other things there.
google avatar

Sammy C.

Yelp
The owner is not professional. The food is not that good. They don't use good meat for the lamahjun. The owner is a condensending d.. He needs to handle his business with better attitude with the clients.
google avatar

Stella B.

Yelp
One of the best lamagunes and boreks in Glendale. Staff is very friendly and pleasant. You have to call in ahead of time if you need more than 2 dozens.
google avatar

Jane L.

Yelp
I have been here a few times and have enjoyed it each time, with a few things they can improve on. The service is great. The staff is very friendly and always offer to heat it up if I'd like to eat it there. They have a variety of options available. I always get the Lahmajune and the Borek. The Lahmajune can be a hit or miss as sometimes it's really good but sometimes the flavor balance seems off. I have always enjoyed the borek. One thing that can be improved is covering the food or keeping it somewhere it can stay fresh. The borek and other bread is left out for display, but I don't know how long it has been sitting there and there was one time I saw a fly flying around and landing on the food. It didn't leave a good taste in my mouth to see them take borek that I ordered and put it in a bag for me. Another thing that can be improved is the temperature. I asked to heat up the borek since I was taking it to go but eating it right away, but when I took a bite into the borek it was still a little cold. Overall, it is still my go-to Lahmajune and borek spot as the food is generally good, and it is also convenient location-wise. It would be an amazing spot if what was mentioned above were improved.
google avatar

Nancy A.

Yelp
Wow! What a great find! I so happened to go to 7-11 next door and saw this place. Thank goodness I decided to get a couple of things. I got the cheese borek and the spicy cheese borek. Both were so delicious and fresh. The bread part was so soft and it had a good amount of filling. I cannot wait to try the other items so I can update my review. The lady who was working that day was so friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend this place.
google avatar

Lilith M.

Yelp
The food here speaks for itself. Honestly, the most delicious lamajun and boreks I've had in the Glendale area. Everything is so fresh and you can just tell it was made with love! I recommend everyone to try them out. You won't be disappointed!
google avatar

Yelp
First impression: catchy but cheesy signage. Second impression: super clean, and new inside. Third impression: smells delicious! Fourth impression: easy, well written selection board. Fifth impression: Jeanie's welcoming smile, and supreme service attitude. Sixth impression: A lot of quantity for the value. ...not even comedian Frank Caliendo can offer these kind of impressions! This is a 'to go' place, but they will heat everything up and you could eat inside -- they have a few tables. Everything is very fresh as they make everything daily, or even, throughout the day. I ordered 4 kinds of pizza-like items, each about 7" some with thin-ish base crust (like lavash), and others have a thicker crust (like flatbread). At home, I heated my little prizes up, and tasted a bit of each (sacrificing my personal comfort for all for my peeps): 1. Lahmajune (90 cents each, or 6 for $4.99 special) -- Perhaps a little boring looking compared to the other items purchased, but don't underestimate it. Angus beef (minced so small you cant tell its actually meat), mixed with vegetables, herbs and spices. WOW. Super. Good as is, but great as a base wrap for other of your favorites. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/gHPV7TYuCmEQPk7Yjk0QMA?select=Y8W1u84H69JTvQn6bLZTPQ#T_cqRp_pQXgr8f9t8yZeVQ 2. Manahish ($1) -- A staple of every Armenian home. TONS of Thyme and oregano, with sesame seeds, spices, and olive oil. A W E S O M E. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/gHPV7TYuCmEQPk7Yjk0QMA?select=Y8W1u84H69JTvQn6bLZTPQ#vfQ09F7F995SUg1nndAZlQ 3. Soujouk & Cheese ($2.50 each) -- Armenian beef sausage, cheese, and crushed peppers. LOVED. Wonderful flavor. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/gHPV7TYuCmEQPk7Yjk0QMA?select=Y8W1u84H69JTvQn6bLZTPQ#2Y4cGliXTSWYtcxvdWM--Q 4. Sfiha ($2 each) -- spicy imported cheese, beef, onions, pomegranate molasses, spices and pine-nuts. I liked it, but not loved it. Looks, and somewhat taste like semi-sweet, little bits of liver. Not bad and perhaps, traditional, but a little odd for me. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/gHPV7TYuCmEQPk7Yjk0QMA?select=Y8W1u84H69JTvQn6bLZTPQ#Vy2hKGUOJkeDSHYQEbTAJg

Yelp
Best lahmajune I've ever had. Their spicy cheese is delicious too. Anything you get there is really good.
