"The third restaurant from the people behind the original Burmese spot in Shoreditch, Lahpet Larder is a Bermondsey outpost serving comforting coconut noodles, as well as dried and pickled supplies imported from Myanmar in their shop." - sinead cranna, rianne shlebak

Having enjoyed dinner at the Covent Garden branch a few years ago, I was keen to try the new one on Bermondsey Street and had another good experience. The food was bursting with flavour and spices. We had the prawn curry, beef, fritters, aubergine and chicken rolls. All were very tasty especially the prawn dish. Fairly quick and pleasant service even on a busy Saturday night, would definitely recommend.

Wow! Just wow! Completely blown away by the food today. I have had Burmese food before and wasn’t a fan but this was epic, also a bit Burmese inspired as against original, but very very good! Every dish was better than the last and hard to pick favourites but if it had to be one - the chicken rolls was the dish we ordered seconds of…

Really delicious Burmese food - loved the tea leaf salad, the salmon ceviche, the fritters, the braised aubergines and the king prawn (our favourite, just outstanding!). The place is cute but can get very loud, so would keep that in mind when booking. Will be back!

Very good Burmese restaurant in Bermondsey close to London Bridge. The food was very good on average, some dishes were just okay in my humble opinion. The coconut noodles and the king prawns were super solid. The fritters and the aubergine were very mid. The servers were super nice; really good customer service. We had a good table but a speaker very close to us. I would very likely come back for the coconut noodles and maybe the desert bubble waffle paratha which was very good ! Recommended !

After dining at the Covent Garden branch, I was eager to explore Burmese cuisine again. Fortunately, Lahpet recently opened Lahpet Larder on Bermondsey Street, conveniently close to my apartment. We decided to go there for lunch with a client, which was a delightful experience. The menu offered a variety of delicious Burmese dishes. As a vegetarian, I was pleased with the ample choices available. Some dishes are pretty spicy, so it's worth asking for recommendations if you prefer milder flavours. The interiors are beautifully designed, making it an ideal spot for client meetings or date nights. If only they were dog-friendly, it would be perfect.

I hadn't had Burmese food before so I was excited to try. - King prawn sipyan curry - Delta style steamed fish - Tea leaf salad - Coconut, pandan and sago pudding The dishes tasted good, but I thought they were going to be different to what they actually were. The curry wasn't what I was used to and I thought dessert was going to be more like a sweet soup... Oh well. It was booked through @firsttableuk so there was 50% off the food. I love these deals, but not sure I love the restaurant enough to pay full price. Wheelchair access ♿✔️

Laphet larder has recently opened their third branch near London Bridge. As a fan of Burmese food I have been meaning to try. Laphet is probably the only big scale Burmese restaurant in London. They serve the usual suspects like Mohingha noodles and tea leaf salad. I went for lunch where they offer some dishes that are not on the main menu at this particular branch but available at the other branches. So on this visit, I had the curry noodles which is only available for lunch so I can return for Mohingha noodles anytime. With the express lunch, they also offer the appetizers from the main menu so you can try it. I had the tea leaf salad with coconut noodles. Tea leaf salad is a popular dish in Burma made with fermented tea leaves and crunchy beans. It tasted pretty much how it should, salty, tangy and garlicky just like other Burmese joints I have tried. The coconut noodles were to my liking not spicy or too coconutty. I loved the quaver style crackers and the finely chopped purple onions. Very palatable and comforting. I also bought a jar of fermented tea leaves but for some reason they were really bitter. When I opened the jar, there was a nice floral aroma and the taste was a bit like oolong and jasmine with a citrus peel flavour, however the aftertaste is super bitter unlike the salad. They were slightly more expensive than The Lost Tea Company but could be supplied by them as they do serve teas by The Lost Tea Company.

We came for the soft launch opening for lunch and had a 50% offer. Although there was nothing wrong with any of the dishes we ordered, the flavours were less vibrant and I find the Covent Garden and Shoreditch locations, which I've visited numerous times, to be much better. Between the two of us, we shared the fried chicken roll (very dense, wasn't a huge fan), tomato and bean sprout salad (nice and light), pork belly (good flavour), king prawn curry (small portion and flavour wasn't wow), braised aubergine (nicely cooked) and the rice.
