"Lindsey and Matt Pilato (LAMP in acronym form) operate one of the most popular pizzerias in North Scottsdale, offering a dizzying array of Neo-Neapolitan pies (19 reds, 9 whites) baked in a red-tiled Italian pizza oven. Lamp’s crusts offer lightness and chew, thanks to a blend of flours, including 00 from Italy. All pies are topped with their own mozzarella and finished with Parmigiano-Reggiano, and any may be topped with add-ons such as capers, figs, pine nuts or Gaeta olives. The Geppetto — a white pie topped with Sicilian sausage, gorgonzola, and caramelized onion marmalade — is a favorite for good reason." - Mcconnell Quinn, Chris Malloy, Nikki Buchanan

Yelp
Lamp victoriously took over as my favorite pizzeria in Arizona... if not ever. I didn't want to admit it because most pizzas seem really good, until I came here. I don't know why I waited so long when my Italian friends have recommended it for so long but who cares? I finally tried it and I'm a Lamp Pizzeria cult follower now. Try the zucchini cakes. They might be infused with crack because you don't want to stop eating them. It's highly suspicious because they have found a way to make eating vegetables so enjoyable. I'm not particularly a fan of olives but I enjoyed these ones. The saltiness is always satisfying. The chunky pesto served with bread was a great appetizer too. As far as pizza goes, the Kensington was by far my favorite. My friend ordered half with prosciutto on it for me and half without. Everything about it was perfection down to the "pizza bone"/crust! My husband and I shared the Gem, which was covered in Lamp Sicilian sausage, pepperoni, ricotta, garlic and oregano. I'm always a sucker for ricotta so of course we ordered this red sauce one. We also ordered the Wood Roasted Mushroom pizza, which included roasted crimini mushrooms, garlic, ricotta, and shaved sharp provolone. We also ordered cooked prosciutto on top of this one to make it heartier and I'm glad we did! For dessert, we shared the Toasted Marshmallow milk shake and ricotta cheesecake. Everyone loved the milkshake which really did taste like you're eating s'mores. I enjoyed the ricotta cheesecake the most because as mentioned above, I have a slight ricotta obsession..

Yelp
Lamp pizzeria is hands down one of the best pizza places I have ever been to in the Valley. The food is absolutely amazing and every bite is bursting with flavor. The pizza is cooked to perfection with a crispy crust and delicious toppings that are fresh and flavorful. The pizza is wood fired but doesnt flop down as you tried to eat it, like some Napoletano pizzas. The crust is sturdy and crunchy all the way through, and has a back bone lol. We tried the Margehrita, Stacy's Mom, and the Gepetto. The Gepetto is a white pizza with Gorgonzola, onion marmalade and their made in house sausage, this is one of the best pizzas my taste buds have had the pleasure of tasting. Mind blown!!!!! Not only is the pizza incredible, but the rest of the menu is also outstanding. The zucchini cakes were delicious and unique, the Mike's bread loaf, a whole loaf of fresh focaccia bread, was unbelievable. The atmosphere of the pizzeria is cozy and inviting, making it the perfect place to gather with friends and family. They have a small outside patio, and the place is not huge. You need to arrive at 4 to get a table. If you are a pizza lover like me, I highly recommend Lamp pizzeria. You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
I am originally from NY, and that implies I am a self-proclaimed pizza expert (aka: pizza snob). With my pizza background as a reference point, understand what it takes for me to give an AZ pizza place 5-stars. Yep, Lamp Pizzeria is THAT good. What do I love about their pizza? To start - they get the dough right. Not too thin or thick, and it's never soggy or burnt. Next, their toppings are ample, and the way the combine them on their suggested pizzas is well thought out - the flavors were balanced and blended well. Lastly, servers were friendly and helpful. I know that pizza preference is highly personal. For this former NYer, Lamp does a nice job of "getting it right".

Ann Y.

Yelp
I truly love this place! From the moment you enter, you're greeted with a warm welcome and the mouthwatering aroma of delicious pizza that makes you want to order every pie on the menu. Well done, Lamp!

Stephanie K.

Yelp
We made it back to celebrate a great visit with my oncologist, and I have to say that I love the updates!! The booth seating is so much more comfortable. Not to mention they look great!! We love the booth in back! We had our usual pizza, salad and zucchini cakes. I added pictures again. As always the service was great, hot food was hot, cold food was cold. The tastes was perfect! I tried a new wine, not my favorite but that is my preference nothing to do with Lamp or service. I prefer unoaked Chard.

Nicholas K.

Yelp
So good, I almost want to keep it a secret! Great pies, even better service. If you are serious about your pizza this is the place to be.

Yelp
We went to Lamp pizzeria and I can honestly say that this is the best pizza restaurant in North Scottsdale! The restaurant is a bit small on the inside, so I highly recommend making reservations ahead of time. Otherwise there is a bit of a way, but once you start eating the food, you'll understand why. All of the handmade brick oven pizzas have some of the most unique pizza toppings you will ever see. The Benny pizza with speck (similar to prosciutto) pizza was my personal favorite, but honestly you can't go wrong here. I recommend ordering 1 pizza per person and we were a group of 3 people so we had 3 different pizzas and share amongst each other. I highly recommend this pizza spot if you're looking for high-quality authentic pizzas with wonderful customer service. It will definitely be coming back here!

Nate F.

Yelp
First and last visit to this restaurant. Pizza was only fair at best. Frozen pizza from a grocery store is often times better than what they serve. I asked for double cheese and the pizza definitely didn't have it. Service was ok. Nothing special.

Kayla S.

Yelp
Last night was our second time in! Here's some highlights from both experiences. TLDR; flavor combos are everything, the crust isn't consistent, the hype isn't worth the wait. Our first time in we sat on the patio we showed up a little before 4pm and got seated right away. The servers are friendly however really slow. It took forever to get things. Whether a refill, turn on the patio heater, and so on. There were times we actually had to get up and ask different people to help us out. We studied the menu before hand so that right when the waiter came we were able to order our pizzas right away. However even though we placed our order right away we still had about an hour to wait until the pizza was ready. The flavor combo of the pizza was delicious!

Kiki L.

Yelp
I LOVE LAMP When we need a casual but good door date night this is our spot. We get the kale salad and the Caesar both are nice and refreshing. We often get the meatball which is also delicious. The kicker pizza is the "go to" we add pepperoni.. But save room for the toasted marshmallow milk shake. It's so good my husband and i don't share this dessert!

Brenda H.

Yelp
The food is good and you can tell that they use quality ingredients. They have a gluten friendly option and I was also able to make it dairy free as well.

Chase C.

Yelp
LAMP is a tricky review for me. I've been here a few times now so I feel confident in leaving my honest review. I'll start with the service. I'll preface by mentioning LAMP gets super busy quick, so expect a wait. The host team are all super friendly and try to get you seated as quickly as they can. If you're not there by open, you can expect a wait. Fortunately there is a standing bar area where you can order a drink and kill some time. Once seated, and this has happened every time for me, we just sit there. Maybe five-ten minutes go by before anyone acknowledges us. During my last visit we legit were at the table 10 mins before I was able to order a drink. Though the servers are very friendly, they have no sense of urgency. This all makes each of my experiences very impersonal. LAMP consistently proves that creating a personable experience for each guest is not a priority. Once it's time to order, expect another LONG wait for your food to come. I recommend choosing your food items before you get seated. LAMP has awesome flavor combinations with a wide choice of pizza options. Every pizza combination I have tried is good. My big complaint about their pizza is the inconsistency. We ordered three pizzas, each pizza had a different level of how cooked it was. Mine was fine, the other two were burnt and extra burnt. It sucks getting to the crust and choosing to not eat it since it's basically a cracker stick. Overall, LAMP has potential to me, it just lacks a lot in some personally important areas. It is definitely worth a try if your in the area, just be ready to wait!

Devin W.

Yelp
Walking by this place, I didn't quite know what to expect when we came here for dinner. Following recommendations from others we did come here once they opened at 4 o'clock and were immediately seated with a table. I could see a high volume of takeout so if you're gonna order take out, make sure you do it right away! The pizzas are all in the same line as the in-house customers. The pizzas we had were delicious and I was obsessed with the crust! The entire group was a fan of their pizzas and we had started with the meatballs which my daughter was obsessed with We will definitely be back as this is close to our neighborhood

El B.

Yelp
We have been coming here for 8 plus years. Service is amazing, atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the pizza is the best in town. There is really only one a couple stone fire pizzas in town at this level. Hands down the best Caesar salad in town. Just order the Kicker Junior. Come here and you will now have a new favorite pizza place.

Kate M.

Yelp
The hype around LAMP is craaaazy! But after trying it, I get it. The neighborhood goes crazy for LAMP, so much so that if you want to place an order to-go, you have to call right when they open at 4pm to be able to pick-up your pizza between 6 and 7pm. I gotta say though, it's worth it! The pizza is thin neapolitan style that's cooked in a wood oven. The top gets bubbly and crispy, but the base can be a little floppy. The scientist was probably my favorite that we tried! It's made with three different kinds of salami and green olives. It added the perfect spicy and salty element to the pizza. A close second was the stacy's mom - this is a white pizza topped with garlic, ricotta, and spicy salami. So creamy but still light! Keep in mind, the pizzas are on the smaller side, plus with being so thin, you might want to add one extra za to your usual order! I will definitely be ordering from LAMP again next time I'm in Arizona!

Jodi K.

Yelp
Wow! Amazing. James was one of the. best Bartenders we've ever met. We started with the zucchini cakes. Cooked perfect. We had the Kicker red pizza. It was so good. Spicy and delicious. Wine was fantastic. Such a great experience.

Kory G.

Yelp
Food was absolutely exquisite! Service was amazing. The ambience is perfect, glorious, slow, jazz, moody vibes. Overall 10 out of 10 on the food I recommend the meatballs as your appetizer Caesar salad and the pizza. Any kind is delicious!! Jese's girl was delicious with the sliced meatballs on it (best part) pro tip: add caramelized onions to it, makes it 20 out of 10!! #fire

Naini S.

Yelp
From the outside, this is a very unassuming place. However, when you enter, you are transported to a cozy pizzeria with a large oven and lovely atmosphere. I brought my parents here on a Thursday evening and it was PACKED. It was so far from home but so so worth it. We got the grilled vegetable pizza and the Kensington. The vegetables were fresh and cooked to perfection. The Kensington had a unique taste that I have never had in a pizza before. I will certainly be back to try everything else in the menu because the portions were big with each pizza being enough for 2-3 people. This was a wonderful pizza experience in Scottsdale and I cannot wait to come back!

Megan G.

Yelp
I can honestly say that this is the best pizza I have ever had. Not only was the pizza, delicious and fresh, but the salads were incredible. I feel like salads can really go either way, and they couldn't of been any better. I also really recommend the zucchini cakes they are so good. And of course, if you're there, you might as well have some sangria, and gelato. The ambience is great, it's not your typical pizza place. If you look around when you are there, you'll just see that everybody is enjoying themselves.wonderful experience!

Ed P.

Yelp
It's been a while since we have been to Lamp. Most of their food is pretty good but we ordered sausage pizza and it came with the sausage still in the casings. We told our server about it and she said that's the way they serve it in Italy. Very un appetizing. That and the attitude prompted us never to go back.

Carol K.

Yelp
This is our favorite place for pizza in Arizona and we have tried them all! In addition to thin crust, wood-fired pizza, the salads, sauces and bread are outstanding. The owner mans the pizza oven and the wait staff is as top notch as the food.

Elizabeth L.

Yelp
What a disappointment! We just move in this neighborhood and was hoping to find a local pizza place. This was two miles from our new house. On the website they claimed that they are the best pizza in town. We were excited to try it. We called to order for pickup and they said it was two hour wait. Because of what they claimed that they were the best, we thought we will wait. Maybe they are that good. Two hours came we picked up our very expensive little pizza, here it is! It was very dry, very salty, hard crust and nothing good about it. Such a sad looking food. I don't know how they can stay in business. My mouth hurt trying to chew it. But we were so hungry after waiting for two hours. Here's the photo of what we got. I do not recommend coming here.

Andrew C.

Yelp
Lamp Pizzeria is one of the best pizza spots in Arizona! Great service by Andrew. Ceaser Salad was excellent, good bread and pesto! Pizza was amazing- Kicker Jr added Sicilian Sausage(excellent sausage top 5), Margherita Pizza was very good and Pepparoni and Sicilian Sausage. Overall Top 3 Pizza in AZ!

Rivak H.

Yelp
If you're into waiting over an hour to receive your meal, then this is the place to go. Personally when you're pissed and hungry does anything taste good? The food is meh. Service an abomination. No feedback from Gen Z servers. Just crickets until you lose your cool. There are far better pizza places to visit.

Deborah S.

Yelp
Best gluten free pizza I have ever had! We were told they worked on the recipe for 2 years and even bought a special oven to finish it in. Good service, nice atmosphere, and great eats. We will definitely be back. We almost didn't give this one a shot because the GF option wasn't listed on the menu on their website, but we came in to buy a gift certificate for someone who really loves this place. Saw a sign near the entry about the GF option and am so glad we stayed to eat, too!

Jessica P.

Yelp
The half and half Pizza was as good as earlier. The Maghinara and Kavorka are a good combination as they both have a red sauce. The staff at front desk could be a little more courteous and kind. The salads are consistent. Wish there was a little more lighting inside the restaurant.

Samuel J.

Yelp
The service was slow and our server spilled our drinks on my friend. He didn't offer any extra napkins or rags for my friend to dry off. Our grandmother had to explain to the restaurant manager how unacceptable that was to not even be courteous enough to try and take care my friend. We got nothing comped and we even got charged for the drinks that spilled on my friend.

Lisa S.

Yelp
Simply the BEST! Our family of 4 chose 3 pizzas to split. We were stuffed and still brought home half a pizza. We started with a tomato and mozzarella cheese salad. It was delicious. Everything was fresh. It had larger croutons which made it taste like a bite sized Caprese salad. So good. For pizzas we chose The Gem, Pepperoni and we made up one of our own. The pepperoni was so fresh. I love it when the ends of the pepperoni curl up in the heat. The crust was a hand tossed version, not too flat and not too doughy. So good. Reservations are not accepted but it sounded like they might have a wait list? We just walked in and waited about 30 minutes. They do have outside seating with heaters for chilly nights. This place was certainly popular. Many patrons inside and many picking up pizzas for takeout. Fantastic meal and atmosphere. Loved the aroma of the restaurant as well!!

Diane R.

Yelp
Amazing pizza margarita!! You feel like you're in Italy or niece France eating like the locals do! So good!

Alice L.

Yelp
Came to LAMP pizzeria for a late Valentine's date night with my fiancé. We heard it gets busy, so we came early and arrived around 4:45 (they open at 4) and were pleasantly surprised with how packed it was!!! Thankfully there were still a couple tables open and we were seated immediately!! For our starter, we ordered the zucchini cakes. They were surprisingly good! There was a pesto aioli on top that gave the dish great flavor. For pizzas, we got The Gem and Rapini. Both were absolutely delicious!!! The thin crust on the bottom didn't have too much flop, which can happen with Naples style pizza. The crust was perfectly crisp and chewy. For the pizzas, I probably preferred the gem but was pleasantly surprised with how the flavors of the pine nuts and caramelized onions elevated the rapini. Next time, I would probably add sausage to the rapini. I will for sure be back to try some other pizzas!!

Robin P.

Yelp
Best pizza (and everything else) in the valley. Friendly service, great atmosphere - pizza's, appetizers and salad's superb (along with the cookies).

Dave M.

Yelp
Thin crust, reasonably priced. For elderly folks who don't eat much, probably perfect size. As a hungry male, it does lack. The toppings could have been better distributed and a bit more generous.

Jovan V.

Yelp
After visiting Lamp Pizzeria THREE TIMES in a row (August 30th, August 31st and September 1st 2023) I feel I am qualified to write a very honest review. First of all, I've eaten at Lamp Pizzeria in the past, but I had never ordered the rapini pizza before. Now it's become an addiction!!! If you like broccoli rabe (which is a bitter tasting version of broccoli) then I highly suggest you order this pizza. The delicious combination of the rapini with caramelized onions, pine nuts and mozzarella is out of this world. NOTE: it also comes with ricotta cheese, but we prefer that on the side, and we dip our pizza into the cool ricotta. Try it! I've posted 3 photos to prove my point. My family is now so addicted to this pizza we came here two nights in a row and on the 3rd night did take out and ordered "extra rapini" ($4.00 surcharge) If you love rapini, then go for the extra surcharge which brings the cost of this pizza to $25.93. I feel the price of this pizza is definitely worth it AND the drive (1 hour round trip from my house) but it's an addiction now ... and one must feed one's addiction at all costs!!!

Ben H.

Yelp
To quote Steve Carell from Anchorman, "I love LAMP." It's cozy, antiquated interior reminded me of classic, traditional, mom n pop brick oven pizzerias found in the heart of NYC. The red tiled oven is cool and I always find open kitchen concepts fascinating. The smell of pizza cooking from the coal oven traveled into my nose to my salivary glands as we sat to order. My stomach was rumbling as we ordered as I began eyeing adjacent tables looking at nearby pizzas. Pizzas are 12", so we ordered 2 to share. The Grandma and Rapini. Warning: 12" pizzas are bigger in real life than they sound. We could have shared one, and been full, but whoever complained of left over pizza? I didn't find the flavour of the pizza too strong. The flavor and ingredients were not salivating. What stole the show was the thin, crisp crust. I'm glad I had an opportunity to try a restaurant that is frequently in the conversation as having the best pizza in AZ. Id rank it in my Top 10.

Nikki P.

Yelp
I love Lamp!! Such good pizza, nice vibes, good service. The flavors are very good and every time I have customized it turns out well. Worth the drive!

Kimberly V.

Yelp
LAMP is our favorite neighborhood pizza place. Hands down. NOW, that being said, when we decide we want pizza, we have to throw the gauntlet down and not hem and haw over it and do it because LAMP does not take reservations and it's popular! Everything that we have ever ordered here whether it's 'to go' pizza or dining in for wine/apps/and pizza - we have never had a bad meal or a bad experience. But again, heed my advice with this review and get here early or send others to secure a spot if you want to dine with a group because it's a popular place on the weekends. The patio is great with patio heaters. The pizza's are wood fired and there is an assortment and they have a rotation of a chef's special. One of my favorite's is Stacy's Mom but again, we have tried several of their pizza's and have never been disappointed and we love a good crisp crust. The wine is great too! LAMP has milkshakes made to order; made in house! The bartender is a hoot too! Parking can be tight in front of LAMP and we have been known to wait if we call in for a 'to go' order.. good thing we like to sip wine while we wait and live close by!

Dave C.

Yelp
Hand crafted pizza with a nice taste. Best in Scottsdale so far. I don't want to add 85 characters

Laura D.

Yelp
Amazing, simple food with the finest ingredients...the best pizza I've had since moving to Arizona...service is attentive and friendly ...highly recommended

Lisa E.

Yelp
Service was top notch. Food was the best pizza I've had in years. Salads were super fresh. Love this place

Ma P.

Yelp
Provided you aren't from Chicago, Detroit or New York, you won't be disappointed. Good pizza and consistent; one of very few pizza restaurants I would recommend in the area. No complaints with respect to the service. Atmosphere is typical of a pizza parlor. Pricing is acceptable. Food won't knock your socks off, but it's good enough to take out of town family for an inexpensive meal. They were accommodating to topping change requests (after approval) by I assume the chef, possibly the manager; reminiscent of buying a car except we were talking basil.

Chuck S.

Yelp
I have eaten some amazing pizza in several different countries & American city's my favorite was in San Francisco until I ate at this pizzeria along with another near Uof A .. This place was recommended from a nurse at Mayo Clinic as we were talking food in the area. He said if we get there at 4 we are good. Well we arrived at 4:30 and it was packed already so we sat at the bar. Glad we did as James the bartender was great. Sarcastically funny right up our alley. Not mention gave great service and recommendations. We tried a white pizza " the mushroom one " fantastic along with a half pepperoni half multi meat. Both pizzas were delicious !! The owner was manning the oven making these circles of deliciousness!! If you like thin crust made to perfection this is the place for you. Food -10/10 Service -10/10 Atmosphere-9/10 Will return here again when we are in Phoenix/ Scottsdale

Scott M.

Yelp
LAMP is really good pizza. Really good, in fact I would say that their pizza ranks up there with the top 5 or 6 spots in the valley. They are usually very busy and do not take reservations, so try to plan your visit off-peak or you'll likely have a lengthy wait. Excellent pizzas, creative apps, great service and affordable wine list. Highly recommend.

Diane R.

Yelp
I've heard rave reviews about LAMP so I decided I had to drive there and check it out for myself. Boy, it did not disappoint! The pizzas were... well, they were perfect. : The texture, the crust, the taste. I grew up in New Jersey so I consider myself an expert when it comes to PIZZA! After pizza, I decided we must try the toasted marshmallow milkshake. I once watched an episode on the Food Network that highlighted a toasted marshmallow milkshake in New York City. I went to that restaurant in New York to try it, and it didn't disappoint. This shake was just as good! I loved it. It had little, tiny pieces of chopped up marshmallow in it which added a lot of texture. I think I would drive there just for the shake! Go to Lamp everyone. Indulge and have the shake!

Ariana D.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing wood-fire thin crust pizza. The staff is so friendly and the service is quick. There can be a wait but I PROMISE it is well worth it. Margherita pizza was delicious. They have a build your own pizza and we got pepperoni and bruschetta. Sometimes meat on pizza can feel heavy, but LAMPs cooks both the pizza and meat to perfection! Caesar salad was also GREAT!

K G.

Yelp
I was a first timer here today and decided to stop by for some dinner. Needless to say I was blown away not only by the "Stacy's Mom" white pizza (best white pizza I've ever had) or the "Kicker Jr" pizza (with pepperoni), but Annika's service! The pizza was super fresh out of the oven and the crisp of the crust combined with the fluffiness was unprecedented. There was a little snafu with the kitchen staff sending pizzas to other tables but Annika was quick to accommodate and provided superior customer service for the troubles. Sure the food can be good in a restaurant but the quality of service matters almost as equally. And at times like these with service such as todays, an absolute 5 star experience. TL;DR. Delicious Pizza, Fantastic Service. I'd make the 21-mile commute again

Laurel H.

Yelp
Pizza on par with famed Pizzeria Bianco. Amazing! Tight but charming atmosphere. Tiny bar. Excellent service. Can be long wait since they don't take reservations.

A B.

Yelp
It does not get any better than this! Lamp has no equal when it comes to Artisan pizza, the quality and variety of its menu and the excellent, consistent friendly service by the staff and the welcoming owners. It is a real treat to have Lamp so close to my house! I never think twice about bringing friends or guests from out of town who crave a superbly made artisan pizza. The mignulata is of course not to be missed and is a perfect way to break your hunger as a first course before what's to be served afterwards. I recommend Lamp without any hesitation. It is well worth it ! My personal favorite pizza is a marghinara with the addition of cappicola !

Mansi S.

Yelp
This place is awesome! Inside is cute and a decent size with a small side patio that is dog friendly. We tried the marghinara and the wild mushroom pizzas. Both were delicious. I loved the red sauce and fresh mozzarella with slices of garlic. The mushroom one was good too but the marghinara stole the show. Crust was light and crispy. A true Italian style pizza! I tried a glass of the chardonnay and enjoyed it. It was perfect on a warm day. Our service was great. I would highly recommend lamp pizzeria and we'll be back to try more of the menu soon!

Lauren W.

Yelp
One of our favorite valley pizza spots - but also great Italian fare as well. And we're big pizza and Italian fans, so we try a lot of places.
