The Best Wineries In The Willamette Valley - Willamette Valley - The Infatuation

"This slick Newberg operation has mastered the art of the sip-and-snack. Alongside your flight of wildly approachable, open-right-now pinot noir, you’ll encounter curated aperitivo bites as intentional as the wine itself. We’re talking nutty shards of Parmigiano Reggiano swiped through aged balsamic, salumi from Olympia Provisions, olive-speckled grissini from Napa, and even good ol’ Zapp’s Voodoo Chips, which belong together in glorious matrimony with L’Angolo’s lemon-crisp chardonnay. Munch on fancy cheese and grilled artichokes in the smoke-scented living room digs, and you won’t need to plan a lunch." - aimee rizzo

Google
Fantastic wines, informative and kind staff and beautiful scenery. One of the best wineries my husband and I have been to. Thank you Noah for the hospitality and company. This is the winery to go to.

Google
AMAZING. I do not know what is best - the people, the winery or the wine itself. All members of the staff are incredible. Incredible service. They do a great balance between providing deep insight and technical aspects of the wine (for those that want to dive deep) and just letting you enjoy the wine and atmosphere (for those that are not so much of wine nerds). The facility is breathtaking. Great atmosphere to relax and enjoy the beauty of the Willamette Valley while appreciating the architectural masterpiece of the building and outdoor area. Finally the wines are my favorite of the Willamette Valley. We have enjoyed dozens of wines from the area and this one is no doubt our favorite. Ps do not miss out on the charcuterie board. Every item on the board is to die for. Could not give a stronger recommendation. If you’re wine tasting in Willamette Valley you cannot miss going here.

Wow! This place is so BEAUTIFUL! The tasting room is stunning. If you love minimal, modern architecture you must visit this place. Their wines are amazing too. Really enjoyed all of them! And Izzy was very welcoming and nice. The place is so peaceful and quiet. Would love to visit again in the summer. So happy to have found this gem!

Beautiful tasting room with stunning, sleek architecture. Great wine and service. And extra points for adorable winery pup Roscoe.

Google
The tasting room is gorgeous (and worthy of the Dwell magazine feature). It’s the type of place where the winemaker notices your glass is empty and will swing over to pour your next taste. It’s still a very new winery, 2015 is the first vintage, but it has all of the right components to become the next hit spot.

Google
Not only is the location beautiful (even on a cloudy day!), the wine and staff are incredible. I worked with Camilla and she was absolutely incredible. My tasting with her was an absolute delight, paired with incredible customer service and a vast amount of knowledge of the wine making process. If anyone is on the fence about making the trip out to L’Angolo, take my advice and go!

Google
Beautiful setting and very nice wines. They are doing a great job of conducting the tastings in a covid safe manner.

I previously ordered some wine through the website a while ago and finally decided to go check out this place in person. We were greeted by Noah when we walked in, and he was without a doubt the best host we could have asked for. We talked with Noah for a bit, and he was extremely knowledgeable and professionally laid-back, which made the experience even better. I would recommend anyone who is in the Willamette Valley area to stop by. 11/10. Will be going back soon!

Yelp
The most incredible wine tasting I have experienced thus far. I am telling you. I haven't been out much in this COVID time honestly. I have been home. So when I decided to visit a friend and we wanted to do SOMETHING, anything...we decided to check out some wine tastings. This. Spot. Is. Complete. Heaven. First, we were the only tasting booked. So thank you to the staff for coming up to the estate to assist us. We are seriously so thankful. We live for the views. So sitting in these perfect little chairs, with warm blankets (yes they brought us blankies) was absolute bliss. I am telling you. Make the trip up yonder and listen to their story. The building was modern, and beautiful. SO SERENE. The sparkling was our favorite, we took home a bottle. Try the wines, and love on the vibes. You will not be dissapointed.

Yelp
The absolute rudest experience I've had in a very long time at a winery. The wine was decent but because of the service I won't be back. Sorry we interrupted your day.

Yelp
Another beautiful property in the Willamette Valley! Everything we tasted was delicious and well-balanced. It is a higher price point for a smaller tasting list, but totally worth it. Tasting fee: $25 per person (waived with 2 bottle purchase) Service: Izzy is phenomenal! From her service during our visit to her winery and local restaurant recommendations, she really made our visit memorable. Best Menu Item: The entire tasting menu was fantastic, but the standout wine for me, was the 2016 Reserve Pinot Noir. P.S. Make sure to say hello to the very friendly wine pup, Otis!

Yelp
Worth the drive. Awesome wines. Great location with wonderful views. Noah was awesome and we will definitely be back.

Yelp
I wouldn't return here. We came in with a larger group (10 people) and had planned a few weeks in advance. We were told prior to arriving we needed a minimum bottle purchase of two cases and we could order some to open while seated, but when we asked upon arrival we were told no, but if we wanted to do a tasting "our glasses would never be empty"....well, they were empty a majority of the time (quite literally the entire time). We were even skipped for one pour and when we asked we were told that "we were talking and didn't notice" - (but seriously - the entire table didn't notice?). Knowing we were going to have a minimum case purchase we were all hoping to make larger purchases but that experience had us frustrated and decided to leave earlier than we had intended. It's a shame because the space is very trendy for a Newberg/Willamette Valley winery but based on our experience we won't be coming back.

Yelp
The views here are amazing, and a small quaint winery on the hilltop. When we came we got the whole winery to ourselves. They even brought us blankets from the dryer to keep us warm! My boyfriend makes the T-shirt's for this company, and they are also really hip and great material. The only downfall is there wasn't too many wines to choose from, but maybe that's what you get when you go to a small winery. :)

Yelp
It an excellent day at L'Angolo Estate on Thursday (16/Feb/2023). As well as being great fun, it was exceptionally informative and I thought the cross-section of wines sampled was of the highest quality. There was no other choice but to become a club member. Noah was an exquisite host and as such is a credit to the L'Angolo Family. His professionally understated enthusiasm was very refreshing. He is an instantly likeable guy and I found his knowledge related to wine, the production process and the L'Angolo aesthetic truly incredible. Four words: Go to this estate. Bradley W.

Yelp
Great wine! Very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful building and a wonderful view!

Yelp
Great wines and great service. I became a member here on my second visit. The staff is kind and knowledgeable. Their member events are executed well with great pairings of food with the wine.

Yelp
I love this winery so much! The building is super modern and very beautiful. I want to live inside. They have plenty of brand new outdoor spaced out furniture that is picture worthy. And very comfortable. So it is the perfect place to sit outdoors and relax and drink some of my favorite wine in the Willamette Valley! Did I mention the wine is divine!

Erika J.

Yelp
Everything here was top notch, from the very attentive but not overbearing service to the pastoral views to the flavorful wines. This is a bit off the beaten path but that's part of what makes it nice, not too busy and a great place to enjoy an afternoon.

Yelp
Enjoyed this space thoroughly...the exception being the $25 tasting fee (for just 4 wines), which is absurd for a casual tasting in the Willamette Valley. Otherwise, a beautiful spot with a friendly staff.

Yelp
Favorite winery. So serene and great service. Wine is great!! And the doggie greeters are definitely a fun selling point as well. We became members after a few glasses, right babe @melissajoypaulo?! This place is a Hypebeast endorsed winery that is a must visit when in Oregon Wine Country.

Brandon P.

Yelp
Pretty disappointed. We wanted to love it, but from the moment we arrived we were ignored. No explanation of the wines, no pitch to the wine club, and empty glasses for 15 minutes. A great setting, decent wines, and an overpriced tasting for the worst custoner service experience we have had. We were looking for a wine club to join, and left sorely disappointed in a promising vineyard wasted.

Mike S.

Yelp
What a wonderful place. Their wines are outstanding and I can't say enough about their hospitality. It is so serene and beautiful. Love the fact that they are also biodynamic. Meeting their winemaker Chase was an added bonus. We will be back.

Yelp
Visited this winery in mid June while touring a couple of different wineries in the area and this was by far our favourite. We chose this winery because the architecture of the building and stayed because they had wonderful wine. The girl who was helping us out with our tasting was amazing, she had just moved there from California and you could really tell she knew her stuff. It was my birthday that day and she gave us one complimentary tasting, I can't thank her enough for being so hospitable. We sat outside on the patio with our dog and enjoyed the breathtaking views from the hilltop. This winery is especially nice if you enjoy a quieter less busy/commercial feel, they really take the time to make it special here. If you get a chance this winery is a must visit!

Yelp
The most delicious wine of Willamette Valley I've had to date!! The wine tasting room is super simple yet breathtaking views with the glass walls, natural night, and occasional dogs running around to greet the guests. Enjoyed wine outside and took in the Oregon air. Go for the views, stay for the wine. Super friendly staff too. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
We enjoyed a very special tasting yesterday hosted by winemaker Chase Renton. It was a wonderful experience in a "simply elegant" tasting facility overlooking the vineyard. Chase hosted us and three other couples visiting from the San Francisco area. The wines were outstanding! For a new winery on the scene, I was impressed with the quality of the wines Chase has made. I'm looking forward to tasting more from him in the future. Well worth a stop if you are interested in discovering wines from an emerging, young winemaker in Oregon.
