The 25 Best Restaurants In Berlin - Berlin - The Infatuation

"Although Berlin’s best and most beloved Thai food can undeniably be found at Thai Park—recently forced to relocate out of Wilmersdorf’s Preußenpark onto the nearby Württembergische Straße—Larb Koi is a close runner-up, battling it out against Khao Taan for the second place spot. If you search for where to find spicy food in Berlin, Larb Koi will feature heavily in the results. This is one of the only places in the city where you can eat wildly spicy dishes—the chicken larb and papaya salad will both leave you mopping your brow and feeling a bit dizzy. The heat (resist the hubristic urge to order anything above “medium Thai spicy”) is our favourite way to release endorphins in this hedonistic town, and that’s saying something." - olivia ladanyi

The 38 Best Berlin Restaurants | Eater

"Don’t be fooled by Larb Koi’s humble description of its offerings as home-cooked fare; at this gem, tucked in a touristy stretch of Friedrichshain, chef Monay Sakarin dishes up some of Berlin’s finest Thai food. With the exception of a superbly tangy papaya salad, the small menu skips standard dishes that you can get elsewhere and leans into specialties from various regions, like a Southern curry with a full, deep-fried sea bass or a phenomenal (if elusive) octopus curry. Despite Berlin’s heat-averse food scene, Larb Koi isn’t scared to play with some serious spice." - Tim Forster

Very delicious food ! Be warned it can be quite spicy. It would have been nice to get more info on the dishes we were served. Tuna tartare // Pork Ribs // Fried Fish were a great combination

This was overall a nice place. Service was good and attentive. Servers smiling and tending to your needs. Food came relatively fast and was a decent portions. The pork neck was delicious, tender and juicy. The fried eggplants with eggs were a nice side dish. The eggs soak up the flavour and really balance out the eggplants. The beef chili curry was our least favourite, we thought the dish could be served hotter and with more spice. The mango sticky was a nice round up of our meal. Overall would recommend. The not so good: We sat next to the window which had a draft. The restaurant was full so we couldn’t move but it made it unpleasant to eat like it was very cold. We also thought the prices were a bit elevated but still enjoyed our time. Would come back but not the top of my favourite Thai places!

I ordered the fried fish with Larb Koi sauce – it was very juicy and perfectly cooked, not dry at all. The spiciness was just right for me, as I usually prefer medium spice. The dish came with rice and fresh vegetables, which complemented it nicely. For dessert, I had mango sticky rice, which was a great way to finish the meal. I really recommend this place if you enjoy authentic Thai flavors and well-balanced dishes.

This is the best Thai food I have ever had. It was so good, I went back twice in the month I spent in Berlin recently. The octopus is very spicy and the duck is also exceptional. Very attentive staff and reasonably priced.

We had a wonderful dinner here. Food is well seasoned and with a great level of spiciness ( my and my partners spice tolerance is 7-8/10, thier spiciness level to our taste was around 5-7/10. We had the Papaya salad, the confi duck, and the minced fork with the liver, together with mango and sticky rice for dessert and complimented with Lemongrass tea and jelly coffee. Everything was very delicious, maybe just the Papaya salad wasn't very much to my taste, it could be marinated for less time (or the tomatoes just didn't fit well there)

Delicious authentic Thai food and very friendly service! My friends and I came in on a Wednesday evening with no reservation and they were able to accommodate us despite being booked out. Free krupuk and vodka shots at the end were a nice touch :)

Delicious, authentic thai recipes, excellently made. The service staff on a very busy evening were welcoming, efficient, quick and made us smile with their kindness. The menu has very few, if any, options for non-meat eaters and the kitchen cannot accommodate easily any minor special requests. Overpriced dishes, particularly for that area, the rather pricey wine menu needs to be reviewed- all the whites are very similar and desperately need an addition of an off-dry Riesling or a bit sweeter to better match with the food and the heat. A Thai beer brand would also add immensely to the experience. The sticky rice in the small serving of mango & rice pudding was not sticky, but crunchy and not that appealing, and the type of mango must have been chosen hastily (fibrous, not sweet enough). A must-go for the ones searching for authentic cuisine from all over Thailand and are prepared to pay more for it, in cash only.

The food was super tasty and the right amount of spicy! Unfortunately the options for vegetarians are very few and not as tasty as the others, seems like an afterthought somehow on the menu. One thing I would criticise is that it doesn't seem to be well ventilated during winter, because the smell of fish is very strong.
