Craft cocktail bar with a menu of creative & classic drinks served in a nostalgic, low-lit setting.
"Larry’s is a microbar in the lobby of the Lawrence House, a space that feels like a university reading room complete with gold lamps, a stained glass ceiling, and plenty of table space. But unlike students sneaking lo mein into the library, you won’t get any strange looks for bringing in takeout to pair with your drinks here. We recommend the pho from nearby Tank Noodle, as long as you don’t spill broth on your laptop." - josh barnett
"Around the corner from the main strip, this little bar is new to Lincoln Square and a great addition to the area. The bar feels dark and upscale, but the vibe is relaxed, perfect for small groups or duos out on the town. During the week, it's like a modern day version of Cheers where everyone knows your name, and you can usually get in with no wait. The weekends are packed from open til close, and a great little spot for a drink before or after dinner in the hood. The cocktails, all $12 each, balance whimsy with familiarity. The menu was conceived by beverage director Benjamin Schiller, where he combines some unexpected ingredients like wheat bourbon with Dark Matter’s Unicorn Blood coffee and pipe tobacco or a mescal-based drink with grilled pineapple and hazelnut with swirls of cedar smoke. Our personal opinion—don't be tempted by the pizza next door at Roots. It's not the best in town. If pizza is what you want, go the extra mile to Pizza Art Cafe or Lou Malnati's down the street." - Knoed Creative
"For a well-mixed cocktail in an elegant, vintage lobby bar, look no further than Larry’s, located in the first floor of the Lawrence House apartment building. The cocktail menu offers a mix of classics and new inventions, available both for drinking immediately or canned to go, plus burgers and fries. There’s a patio for warm weather, and live jazz on Sundays." - Eater Staff
"Tucked away in the lobby of the Lawrence House apartment building, without any street-facing signage, hides Larry’s cocktail bar, a rare Uptown oasis for fancy drinks." - aimee.levitt
"This Ravenswood bar from the Fifty/50 group really gets into the Halloween spirit, with a full menu of witchy cocktails, including the Sanderson Sour, made with Reposado mezcal, pomegranate, raspberry, violet, lime, and, most intriguingly, magic." - aimee.levitt
