Las Cazuelas is a main stay in Highland Park. It is one of the most reliable and delicious restaurants around, and is priced very reasonably considering how good the food is. My partner and I are plant-based and they offer incredible vegan cheese pupusa’s and they are just as good every time. you may need to wait a little bit for your food, but it’s always worth it because in the end you’re going to get something incredible and at a fraction of the cost that they could be charging. Overall, I highly recommend Las Cazuelas and will be dining here again in the very near future. Thanks, Las Cazuelas!

The staff is amazing - they work incredibly hard to keep up with the fast pace, but they're always friendly and attentive. Now, onto the food! I dove headfirst into some cheesy goodness with their queso con loroco. It stretched like a dream, and the flavor was on point. Sticking with the Salvadoran theme, I tried the pupusa revuelta - delicious! For my main course, I went with the pan con pollo. Let me tell you, they don't skimp on the chicken! It was perfectly marinated and juicy, bursting with flavor in every bite. No Salvadoran meal is complete without chicharron and fried yucca, and Las Cazuelas absolutely delivered. Crispy, salty goodness! To wash it all down, I had a michelada - the perfect refreshing sidekick to a fantastic meal. Overall, Las Cazuelas is a must-try for anyone looking for authentic Salvadoran food in a welcoming atmosphere. They've clearly been a part of the Highland Park community for a reason - it's fantastic!

While I used to be a fan of this place and enjoyed their pupusas and beef soup, I’ve noticed a decline in the overall taste of their food lately. Yesterday, I tried their shrimp soup, and it was disappointingly flavorless – almost like water. The shrimp had a strange, plastic-like texture and lacked any discernible taste or seasoning. It seems like the quality has taken a hit, and I believe they should step up their game to regain the appeal they once had, especially among Salvadoran customers who used to love this spot. It feels like they’ve followed the trend of gentrification, sacrificing the distinct taste that used to set them apart.

My family has been coming here for years. We only specifically order pupusas so not sure how the other food is. The pupusas are a great portion of filling and dough. They always offer a good portion of curtido (pickled cabbage) to go along with them. I do understand the comments about the service and wait time sometimes but it is worth it for the food.

This is my favorite place to eat My mom and I have been coming since we were young. It's a comfort place. Love the service. Mama always bring a smile to my face. She is so sweet and her laugh is contagious. The vibes are amazing I love that they have Spanish music playing. Founded in by the Retana & Lopez families, this establishment has been a staple in the neighborhood since 1985. Over the years I've consumed many of their mouthwatering pupusas. I've had the Queso y Frijoles and the Loroco (Veggie). A variety of filling choices are available (about 22) including two vegan options. It's been a while since I've had one, so I stopped in for an order to go. The restaurant has a welcoming vibe, and the menu features authentic Salvadoran cuisine. I had a party to attend in the evening and wanted a snack, so I ordered a Pupusa Queso. It was as good as I remembered - oozing with melty yummy cheese. I put the spicy curtido on top and drizzled the salsa Roja over it. My craving was satisfied. *Metered parking in the lot behind the restaurant and the street. *Happy Hour every day 3 pm - 6 pm

Unlike many new trendy restaurants that only cater to certain people Las Cazuleas continues to serve the working class people in the area at resonable prices, great service and excellent dishes that remind you of home. It's a hit or miss when it comes to service here the lady I got with a skirt had an attitude right off the jump I came in with my small service dog and they were talking amongst themselves in Spanish saying to ask if he has papers for the dog and them not knowing or assuming idk how to speak Spanish or that i understand it perfectly. And I told in Spanish I have documents ect I can show right now if you'd like and they said no it's fine. The chips they served me and my father were stale and hard the lady slammed the drinks on our table like was that necessary? But the place is always clean and comfortable just need to tell that lady has always been a grouch for as long as I can remember. I've been coming here as a kid the pupusas are the in L.A county hands down but the service needs to be better especially when you have paying customers that return.

[Location]: They are the 3rd establishment on the corner of N Figueroa st and N Avenue 57, right in between the businesses Antigua Bread and Body Dada. There is an entrance in the front of the restaurant and in the back where the parking lot is at. [Parking]: There is a large metered parking lot in the back of the establishment and there is metered parking on the street. The meters accepts cards and coins. [Service]: You can place a to go order over the phone or you can place an order inside of the restaurant. There is inside eating and a lovely outdoor eating area in patio right in back of the restaurant. The service workers there are super nice and will refer to you with sweet endearments; the Salvi experience. [Menu]: They have the typical Salvadoran menu, which includes pupusas, sopa de rez, sopa de pollo, 7 mares (seafood soup), Salvi breakfast dishes, fried shrimp combo dish, tamales, panes con pollo. For beverages they have cafecito (coffee), salvi horchata, ensalada (a mixture fruit drink--worth tasting). Definitely lots of menu items to try! *** I ordered the Desayuno típico, but instead of the chorizo I asked for more casamiento (rice and beans). It came with scrambled egg with veggies, salvi cheese, fried plantain, casamiento, and avocado. I also ordered the 2 bean and cheese pupusas. I enjoyed the pupusas but I wish they didn't have too much masa. Overall a 5*!

The food was so good I gave a description on each of the pictures. My favorite was the pupusa with cheese and beans, with the curtido and salsa was amazing. Will come back for the pupusas lol. The service was wonderful the lady was very attentive, made sure we had everything we needed and even when she left she made sure we got another waitress right away. Every time we come down to the LA area we stop here for the amazing pupusas. I got 2 cheese ones and hubby got 2 revuelatas. We parked in the back, but had to walk around to the front due to us having a wheelchair. It's quite roomy inside but the way to the restrooms are narrow. A little tricky but we got it. My mom ordered the yuca fritas with the chicharonis. My boys got their quesadillas, everything that had cheese was so good, the good pull and chewy cheese. The ladies made room for my moms wheelchair at a table and we were all comfy.

Visited Las Cazuelas on a Saturday afternoon. It did not disappoint! Had a pupusa and the three taco plate. Wow! The taco plate was amazing and generous with its portions. The rice was great too. Since it was an unusually hot October day, I also ordered the pitcher of 805 beer with my partner. Great experience and love coming back to this community staple!

Ordered papusas and asada quesadilla tonight. I am so happy. I used to have 2 el Salvadoran cooks (I'm a chef profession wise). They used to bring me papusas for breakfast all the time and these from Las Cazuelas are so comforting. The asada in the quesadillas were seasoned better then most taco spots I've tried in the area. I see people complain about the price point of the papusa. They are definitely priced right. They are huge! Full of pork and the amount of escabeche and salsa they give you it's perfect. My question is you would pay 5 dollars for a crap McDonald's hamburger but not these delicious homemade papusas?!?! Come on grow up! They are clearly handmade to order and FIRE!!! Thank you !!

We've order a few times from Cazuelas via delivery app, and every time the food has been great. The pork pupusa is our favorite, and that curtido of theirs is wonderfully tart and tangy with a great crunch. The pupusas themselves do come a bit oily and greasy, but a few quick pat downs with a paper towel and we were in business. All around, good pupusas, good curtido, and a solid meal!

I'm sure the food is amazing. So my 7 year old HAD to go to the restroom very badly. We parked across the street from Las Cazuelas and went through 4-5 shops that didn't allow my son to use their comfort facility. The gentlemen at the front gave us permission and had a token already on hand to help my son. They knew the customer's needs are way important than looks. This is a true family oriented restaurant. Food was great! However, service was super slow. We waited about 15 mins to be seated (cool) but than we waited about 30mins for our pupusa to come out, or even longer and we each had 1-2 pupusas. We were never checked on and the to get boxes and check took another good 10-15mins. If you don't have a rush on time than you are okay coming here.

Hello all, so got to give it up to this establishment! The food here is delicious and made fresh. As you can see from the pictures my lovely mother and myself had an early Sunday dinner at Las cazuelas, she's a repeat customer first time for me and I'm hooked! The restaurant is clean and vibrant the owner Carlos visits with clients as they enjoy good food. The pupusas are big and hot filled with delicious goodness the empanadas and pastelitos are amazing also, it's difficult to pinpoint anything specific because everything is on point most definitely a must try restaurant! Parking is plentiful either on the street or in the parking lot out back. Buen provecho people!

Food was overpriced. $5 for 1 pupusa? No thanks.. i just came back from El Salvador and i wanted to try our local pupusas here to compare. The taste was just ok. I like cheese but they really put way too much (probably because they charge you so much). Service is also slow. It took close to 30 minutes to order two pupuas to go. You're better off driving 15 minutes to El Mercadito Salvadoreno off vermont and 12th. $6 for two pupusas that were delicious and it only took about 10 minutes. I gave three stars because at least the host and cashier were very nice. Will try again if they can lower the price to a more reasonable amount. Maybe make them smaller with less cheese and work on the time it takes

Very upset I did an online order and I forgot to order drinks so when I went to go pick up I got to strawberry lemonades and I didn't pay attention to the charge or look at the receipt until I got back home and the cashier tipped herself 5$ without my knowledge that is so deceitful and thievery. I know it's only $5 but it's the principle and all I'm doing is picking up if they were at least friendly in the pick up then I would tip but not even that.

Our delivery driver picked up the wrong order, and the manager was nice enough to deliver the correct order to us himself! Everything we ordered was amazing! Las cazuelas has been a staple restaurant in my family for years. It was one the first restaurants that we tried and were able to afford. The food has always been consistent with taste and quantity. The meals here are not small they serve gigantic portions. Which makes it a good deal for your buck. The pupusas are meaty and good on flour. I tried the frijoles with cheese one and it's my favorite. They have a variety of other choices and also vegan pupusas. The shrimp cocktail was not all that but some of my faves include the chicken soup, salpicon, and empanadas de carne. I usually get take out but there is plenty open seating. The service from the ladies in the front is helpful and kind. They accommodate people who don't speak Spanish since this restaurant is very hispanic oriented. I would not be afraid to walk in. The only thing I would recommend is better sauce for the chips when you are dining in! Other then that this will continue to be a staple for me.

I am extremely disappointed in the $70 amount of food I spent on this restaurant today, which did the exact opposite of satisfying my craving. I ordered revuelta pupusas and it was nothing close to what I expected. Now, I write this review out of frustration because I have ordered pupusas from this place before many times however THIS time was one like no other. Definitely one, our stomachs won't ever forget!! SUPER DISAPPOINTED!!! P.S These pupusas use yellow cheese(which is non traditional of regular Salvadorian Pupusas) and we all 7 of us who tried the pupusas got diarrhea.

Always my favorite pit stop on my way to or from San Diego to Ventura. It makes my dad feel so happy to stop here being he's from El Salvador. Best place to get pupusas in California. Haven't had any other place that sell them as good which is why I will always come back here. Have been coming here for years ever since I was little and am glad to see that they taste as good as when I first tried them. The last time I was here I came in May with my dad and boyfriend on our way back from San Diego. The horchata is top notch and I love getting some for there and to get it to go. My favorite part of the PUPUSAS is when the cheese is crispy. I love open them up and putting revuelto in them. The service was great and even the cook accommodated making the PUPUSAS with two different flours. I believe it was rice and corn. My dad recommended it made them more delicious. I love coming here because it reminds me of my childhood which makes it feel family oriented . Overall will keep coming here for the years to come.

If you want authentic Salvadoran food this is your place!!! The pupusas are so delicious they're not shy when stuffing these babies, pair it up with some cafecito or nice cold beer!! But that's not all the empanadas so sweet so good, the sweet crema inside the best you'll ever have!! Then there's the pastelitos with curtido and salsa you hear the crunch with every bite! So much great food but you also get great customer service! Everyone is so nice! The ambiance you get is like being at home! Definitely some heart and piece of El Salvador in here

Went for lunch. Tortillas were great. Service is very slow. However the restaurant does have a "now hiring" sign upon entry of the restaurant. I will never ever ever return.
