"Las Cazuelas is a Mexican spot with a dining room full of people who know exactly what they want (which is a place to drink mezcal and eat al pastor and birria tacos every day). It’s small and colorful inside, with four tops put together to fit big groups of friends looking to start their nights early. Plus, it’s BYO-tequila, which means if you want anything mixed, your friend who watched Coyote Ugly too many times will finally get their moment in the sun. " - Candis Mclean, Alison Kessler

"Las Cazuelas, opened by Alfredo Aquilar in 1999, faced similar challenges to Tequilas in sourcing authentic Mexican ingredients. Aquilar would travel to New York weekly to find items like cebollitas and cactus. The restaurant has established itself as a staple for Mexican cuisine in Philadelphia." - Angela Gervasi

"A night at Las Cazuelas is very simple. Bring a good bottle of tequila and they’ll handle the shrimp ceviche, Mexican street corn slathered in crema, and mango margaritas. The relaxed restaurant on Girard Ave. (that’s usually easy to walk into) is a great place to take a group of friends on a budget since their tacos cost under $15. Go for the suadero, as the braised steak is so tender and juicy that you might even forget to belt out “Happy Birthday” when it’s time." - Candis R. McLean

Was in the mood for tacos and elote and found this gem. We originally intended on going somewhere else but were unable to get reservations. We made reservations and upon arriving was seated immediately, with the option for indoor or outdoor. Took a chance and sat outside and luckily was not bothered by bugs. Everything that came out was fresh and tasty. Idk what was on the tostones but it was tasty and had a bit of a kick to it. The elote was amazing, the corn was sweet, not mushy and the right amount of seasoning. I've been places and have have everything coming off the elote. I really enjoyed my tacos. I really like Mexican style tacos, cilantro and onions I love and you can't go wrong with that. As we were eating it appeared that they were preparing to close as they were bringing tables etc from outside, cleaning up and had closed blinds. But we were never rushed through our meal, in fact our server still offered us dessert despite the fact that we were the only patrons at this restaurant and they were preparing to leave. I would definitely return and support this business. Even noticed that they have rooftop seating as we were leaving.

Amazing authentic Mexican food! You will leave here stuffed and satisfied. I really appreciated the friendly-ness of the staff as well. Can't wait for indoor seating to be open again but they still have outdoor seating now!

I placed a pickup order with Las Cazuelas online and they accepted my card payment and their system told me my order would be ready at a given time. When I went to pick up my order the business was closed. I tried calling the number on their website for a refund and the number doesn't connect to anything. Pretty disappointed!

Friendly service. Seated nine of us in a separate room in the back. Menu with variety, including vegetarian. Very tasty. Affordable prices. Tacos were in $12-15 range for two to three. Speciality entrées were approximately $20. BYOB. 20% tip charged, but well deserved! Street parking. Overall very nice large group dining experience. Photos are of birria tacos from regular menu and Mexican omelette from the brunch menu.

This place was fantastic! Highly recommend for authentic and tasty Mexican food. They are taking very good precautions during the pandemic and have a few tables for outdoor dining. The prices are also very affordable and the portions are big. Will definitely be back!

Went with my niece for Birria tacos, definitely not what i expected. Our sever had an attitude at first but calmed down as the night went on. She forgot to bring out napkins and when I asked her again for them, she brought them back and threw them on the table. I think she was the only server Sunday night. The food was ok, the birria tacos were missing something, I was expecting more dipping sauce also a more crispy shell so the taco didn't mush up after dunking. I also HATE the 20% service charge. My niece picked the place so I wasn't going to switch places. We didn't know in advance, there was small print on the menu about the 20% fee. I would not recommend for Birria Tacos, the guac was good. I will post a pic of the food

Delicious food. Flavorful spices. Authentic spanish food. We brought liquor and our waiter made us a mango margarita 😜🥭🔥👍🏽 Expensive, but worth it.
