"When: Mon-Thurs, 5pm-8pm The Deal: $6 Beer; $9 Wine; $13 Cocktails Las’ Lap is a Caribbean bar on Orchard Street with potted plants, floral stools, and a cocktail list that emphasizes ingredients like coconut, passionfruit, and rum. It gets pretty busy here, and the place isn't huge, but you can always book a table online." - neha talreja, bryan kim
"Las’ Lap is a narrow bar on Orchard Street with high ceilings, potted plants, floral bar stools, and a cocktail list that emphasizes ingredients like coconut, passionfruit, and rum. It’s a cool spot, and it’s ideal for when you want to catch up with a few people and hide from the massive crowds at other LES bars. It still gets pretty busy here, and you’ll probably find it hard to get a seat (it’s a small place), but you can call ahead if you want to reserve a table and eat some dinner. They serve things like oxtail, jerk chicken egg rolls, and wings." - neha talreja, bryan kim, hannah albertine, willa moore
"Lower East Side local food distribution group, Canal Cafeteria recently set up a weekend farmer’s market partnership with Caribbean restaurant Las’ Lap on Orchard Street. And, this weekend, NYC-based bakery Cait’s Key Lime Pie will also be there with fresh pies from 10am until they’re sold out. A portion of the profits from their farmer’s market produce sales benefit Canal Cafeteria’s weekly food distribution within the community. "If you’re spending time on the Lower East Side this weekend, know that the Caribbean restaurant Las’ Lap and local food distribution group, Canal Cafeteria, are partnering on a farmer’s market at 74 Orchard Street this Saturday, April 17th from 11am-2pm. Bring a tote and prepare to collect amazing spring produce, natural wine from Skin Contact, and plants and flowers from Joy Flower Pot (our favorite plant store in the neighborhood). All of the profits from their farmer’s market produce sales benefit Canal Cafeteria’s weekly food distribution within the community. "Come to Las’ Lap with a few people who talk about “fun,” and also actually have it. This Caribbean spot is first and foremost a cocktail bar (with a focus on rum), but they also serve doubles and wings with jerk tamarind BBQ sauce in their outdoor sidewalk area. Stop by any day starting at 5pm, or for Happy Hour between 5pm and 8pm Monday through Thursday." - hannah albertine
