"Launderette seems to exist in two entirely separate worlds. By night, it’s a cute and intimate dining room set in a renovated laundromat with shared plates, and very much a place that should be on your date night roster. During brunch it transforms into a postcard-worthy spot for mimosas, pull-apart cinnamon buns, biscuit sandwiches, and whatever else people have grown accustomed to eating and drinking between the hours of 11am and 2pm on a weekend—most of them with small twists, like a salmon gravlax plate with neufchâtel butter and ash rye bread. There’s also a beautiful patio covered in small, white marble tables and big blue and white umbrellas that look like they belong on a beach somewhere in Greece." - nicolai mccrary, raphael brion, matthew jacobs
"The Deal: Half off beers, cocktails, and wines by the glass; $5 off appetizers and burgers Housed inside (you guessed it) a converted laundromat, Launderette is probably the most attractive restaurant on the East Side. Fortunately, they aren't just trying to get by on looks—the food here is actually good. During happy hour, you can get $5 off appetizers and one of the best burgers in the city." - nicolai mccrary, raphael brion
"Weekend brunch at this Holly restaurant has range. Indulge in Launderette’s fluffy buttermilk pancakes, biscuit sandwiches with sunny-side eggs, latkes, pork shoulder hash with Brussels sprouts, and Turkish eggs. It also offers excellent pastries, including a must-eat zucchini bread and a rotating pastry of the day that keeps things interesting, no matter how many times you’ve visited. Inside, stunning teal floors, blue flourishes, and farmhouse tables are featured, while the outside boasts a rustic patio. Brunch hours are from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekends." - Nadia Chaudhury
"Housed inside (you guessed it) a converted laundromat, Launderette is one of the most attractive restaurants on the East Side. It’s located a few blocks away from the busyness that is East Sixth, meaning it’s a great spot for a quiet dinner or a romantic date night, but it’s also bright and airy enough to be one of our favorite brunch spots in Austin. Whether you’re ordering off their brunch, lunch, or dinner menu, you’ll probably want to finish your meal with the birthday cake ice cream sandwich—just don’t ask them to sing any songs when they bring it out." - nicolai mccrary, adele hazan, raphael brion
"If there’s one restaurant in Austin that’s designed for a laid-back bachelorette party, it’s Launderette. There’s a big patio, plus a few large indoor tables, and most of the menu is great for sharing. The menu changes regularly, but you can usually expect to find dishes like fried oysters, burrata with focaccia, and pork spare ribs. Besides the food, Launderette also has an excellent wine list and a small menu of seasonal cocktails, which is great for kicking off or reflecting on the weekend." - nicolai mccrary, raphael brion
