The Newest Restaurants In Chicago

"Layla & Ringo’s is just a few steps from DJ’s and is from the same restaurant group as DJ's Great Room. This River North cafe and self-described “modern bodega” is open for breakfast and lunch, so you can get coffee, pastries, breakfast sandwiches and BLTs with a side of wifi." - john ringor, veda kilaru, nick allen

Chicago’s Best Coffee Shops | Eater Chicago

"Layla & Ringo’s is part cafe and part corner store, and opened in early 2025 from the team that’s brought Chicago DMK Burger Bar. This is work-from-home heaven with speedy Internet, beautifully designed tables and a trio of phone booth-inspired private rooms for video calls. Episcope, the owners, have experience with coffee, having run Werewolf Coffee and other spaces. There’s an awful amount of polish in a very new space." - Ashok Selvam

Great vibes at Layla & Ringos! Stopped in for a cup of coffee and pastry which were both excellent. The croissant was exceptionally flavorful - very light and buttery! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming! The leather couches, charming decor, and natural light made it feel very comforting. There were also some “telephone booths” with a small stool and desk which make it the perfect place to work! Will definitely be coming back to try more and check out the grocery / packaged food section!

Popped in for a coffee, perfect location on my way to work. A year ago this might have been a Foxtrot, and I'm so happy it's not! I got the cookie butter cold brew with oat milk and it was real tasty! Between the price and the 10 minute wait this will have to be a weekly treat

Such an adorable spot in the neighborhood! The staff were so nice, coffee was delicious, and the avocado toast was amazing. Also dog friendly which is so sweet. Highly recommend stopping in!!

Really cute cafe & artisanal mini mart. While there is plenty of seating, get there early if you want to grab a spot because it fills up fast. Bonus points for having phone booths so you can take a quick call. The food and drinks were good and service was very friendly. After a quick perusal of the mini mart, prices were on the higher side but they carried some cool products. I’ll definitely stop by again.

Great place to do work and take breaks by walking around their shop. They have call booths which is pretty cool. Food and drinks are also good. Plenty of seats but it indeed does get busy and can fill up quick. Was full basically most of the day during working hours the Friday I was there

More of a coworking space than a cafe. At 11 am on a Friday there wasn’t a single seat open because they’re all taken by people on laptops.

Wow. I popped into Layla & Ringo’s spontaneously and was immediately impressed by the space. Cute vibe with plenty of seating. The coffee was really good and the pastries looked fantastic, I’ll devotedly be back to check those out. Awesome new addition to the neighborhood!
