HOW TO GET IN: I just did a walk in on a Friday at opening time and it was very easy to get a table. The inside is absolutely stunning. It’s really beautiful. I love all the details and there is even a candy cart at the end. I love the matchbooks too. The security is a bit intimidating in the front but he was nice. The staff is friendly too. The olives were incredible. The only reason for the 4 stars is I don’t think the drinks were incredible and I thought they were too expensive for what they were. But the service was great.

My new favorite spot! From the moment I arrived, everything about this bar was impressive. It all started at the entrance, where the staff greeted me warmly and wished me a lovely evening. I had a reservation, so I was seated promptly even though my friend hadn’t arrived yet. They also took my coat at the front, which added to the smooth and welcoming experience. Once seated, the service continued to be exceptional. The waitress was incredibly attentive, and the helpers ensured that our table was always spotless. The balance of care and space was perfect—I never felt overwhelmed but always felt looked after. My friend and I even joked that we felt like we were in Europe because the service was just that good! We ordered burgers, lobster rolls, and egg rolls, and everything was absolutely delicious. The lobster roll and burger, in particular, were astonishingly good. The food was so amazing that we kept ordering more just to enjoy it again! The cocktails were fantastic, and the music added to the fabulous vibe of the evening. We initially planned to stay for just an hour and a half, but the atmosphere was so lively and enjoyable that we ended up staying late into the night. It was truly a perfect Friday night, and I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great food, drinks, and an amazing ambiance! ❤️

Loved it here! I almost skipped because of some shaky reviews, but I’m so glad I didn’t. The doorman was really nice and let us in without any issues. It’s easier with a reservation or if you’re in a group of girls. I came with a big group on a Saturday and the vibe was so fun—friendly staff, great music, and plenty of room for all of us to hang out. We had such a good time we were planning our next visit before we left.

Beautiful space . Whether you go for piano night or to see a DJ, it is always a great experience. Definitely a space for drinks only. Food is not good in my opinion, specially for the high surcharge. Great for small or large groups- make sure you have a reservation!

Finally made it to Le Bar Penelope, and had a wonderful time. Food was great, friendly service and loved the small bites menu.

venue is beautiful. pretentious and unfriendly staff were the first of many faults. i ordered a vesper martini and the waitress asked me what type of alcohol i preferred. food was was well less than average. for a polished venue, it was uncomfortable to see everyone buttoned up aside from the waitresses in extremely short mini dresses. this spot had so much potential but was not able to live up whatsoever i’m

I wanted to take a moment to express my disappointment regarding my reservation at Lebarpenelope last night. I had a reservation for five guests, and one of my friends was arriving later, which I confirmed with the hostess prior to our arrival. When my fifth guest arrived, the doorman (wearing a red beanie) refused him entry based on his outfit, which consisted of a sweater, jeans, and dress boots. According to your dress code guidelines, he was compliant. Inside the restaurant, I noticed many patrons dressed similarly, and some were even less formally attired in T-shirts and sneakers. I found it particularly concerning that the doorman took a photo of my boyfriend without his permission. This incident left a very poor impression on us, and my party all decided to leave shortly after. The comments from the staff, suggesting that he could go home and change, were frustrating, especially since we do not live nearby and his outfit adhered to the dress code. I had heard wonderful things about your establishment from a friend who hosted a party there last weekend, so this experience was quite disappointing. As someone familiar with NYC Night Life, I understand the importance of a dress code, but it seems unfair to deny entry while allowing others in similar attire. I was informed that the decision was at the discretion of the doorman and that there was some confusion regarding operations. The doorman said it was up to Angelo and Angelo said it was up to the doorman. The lack of compassion from your staff is disheartening. They rather a party of 5 leave half way through their evening than be understanding (to a person who was dressed like many others inside). I hope you can address these issues for future guests.

Being in the industry, it's very easy to write up a bad review or anything negative for that matter. My wife and I tried out Le Bar Penelope. We walked in and yes it was impressive. The crowd was unique and comfortable. Staff was very accommodating and definitely not rude. Cocktails were great, price was just as great, considering the location you're in. My wife and I had a great time, but after all is said and done, one of the reasons we had a great time was because of our server. She was amazing, incredible, knowledgeable, polite, kind and sweet. She was simply human. A huge thank you to Vanessa!! You made our night even more special, simply because you were yourself. You're weren't "fake" or "snobbish", you were perfect. You did your job with grace, elegance and most importantly with a smile. Thank you for an amazing evening. We will definitely be back for all the mentioned above reasons and definitely requesting Vanessa's presence.

Doorman outside is quite strange and rlly stuck up for...what reason? Idk ‍ didnt let my friends in bc the dress code (tht they dont rlly specify online) was j not appealing for him. He basically gave us a lecture about how we werent dressed fancy enough and tht we would "see what [he] means when we look inside..its a really upscale bar." Mmkay. He let us in as if doing us an ENORMOUS favor then shortly told us we had to leave aaaand I had no problems walkin out he ruined the vibes before he let us in anyway. Went somewhere else and had a better time there than we woulda at this place :) not worth the hype tht was circulating for a while online. Im fine w being told the dress code wasnt up to par but the way in which he worded his request for us to leave was...distasteful which contrasts how chic and "upscale" the bar is according to his description. Hosts inside were kind though not mad, j...an experience i wouldnt wanna go thru again

Great crowd and ambiance at this new well placed cocktail lounge. Properly ran and managed as well. Surrounded by swanky restaurants in the area this place is great for after dinner cocktails.

Terrible service, especially arrogant condescending doorman. My friends and I are regulars of this place. We booked a table there on New Year's Eve. Upon arrival the doorman (who already knows us) yelled at us at the front door, would not let us in in the pouring rain (it was crazy thunderstorm on NYE) like we were a bunch of drunk hillbillies when we are a classy well dressed New York crowd. When we finally got to our table, we could not find waiters with food. They would just pass our tables by and we had to ask our bottle service waitress the food multiple times. The food trays were very sparse. Mind you we are regulars and have been spending a lot of money in that place on bottles, we always get a table so we are definitely not cheap, but we have been disappointed with the attitude of the doorman for weeks now, but the NYE party was just the last drop so we will not be returning due to the poor attitude and service. The decor and ambience is good, but that is not enough for spending thousands of dollars in that place receiving terrible attitude in return. Thankfully, there are a lot of other places that are opening around this area. So no, highly will not recommend. Just giving it 3 starts for a great pianist on Wednesdays and great decor.
