"Bistrot des Fables delivers massive portions of classic French food in a homey setting with a zinc bar, tiled floor, and chalkboard menu. The charming wooden staircase at the back of the room leads to a slightly less charming upstairs space—plead with the servers, flirt if you need to, for a seat on the ground floor. The slow-cooked boeuf carottes is a must, falling apart at the nudge of a fork and big enough for two, and the escargot fricassée is a nice departure from the butter-soaked classic, pairing snails with pork belly and roasted peppers. Prices are almost criminally reasonable for the area, especially if you opt for the weekday lunchtime prix fixe of €24 for two courses and €29 for three. The staff were friendly and our table was already waiting. We ordered two apps and shared a main and had a desert. To our surprise, the kitchen split our one main onto two plates which is always a nice touch. All the food was perfect an decently priced especially when you’re not looking for anything pretentious, just good food.

I order Friday special meal. The salad is gee and mushroom. It is good. The plate with 3different fish , potatoes and Pickled cabbage. The food is a lot. Too much and only 24 euro. I am very happy. The waitress are very nice to me. I get food very fast. If you do not eat too much as I am the start and plat are enough

My family and I had an amazing lunch on our way to the Eiffel Towet. The service was the best we had our entire week in Paris. The onion soup was very good, but the entrees were outstanding. I had the salmon which was moist perfectly prepared. Our children both enjoyed a Croque Monsieur. We split a Profiterole for dessert, so good.. Do yourself a favor and avoid the tourist traps and enjoy a fabulous meal here.

Excellent food, they know how to cook. I found the selection of herbs in the dishes very good, adding layers to the taste. Ingredients were perfectly cooked, giving pleasant texture. Was worth every penny in terms of the quality of food. Everything from water, bread, to the main dishes were served at the right temperature which I very much appreciated. Service was good too. I would visit again, so far the best among restaurants nearby :) Recommend taking the lunch menu, which seems to change every month or so.

They made excellent recommendations that really enhanced the experience. I had a lovely time from start to finish and would definitely come back. Sat out at the terrace in the middle of July. Good atmosphere. French onion soup is absolutely incredible with lots of cheese. Beef tartare is tasty. Escargos unique since they do not cook in traditional way with pesto, bit differently with pepper and garlic. No shells. Duck smells a bit and steak too tough and chewy. Creme brulee was good.

Among the more fortunate finds my husband and I discovered on YouTube were Les Frenchies, an energetic middle-aged married couple who constantly produce informative videos about Paris. It was due to them that we found this cozy bistro within a quick stroll from the Eiffel Tower where we secured entry tickets at 9:30PM. We had read the area was full of tourist traps, but this was definitely not one of them. It turned out Les Frenchies was spot-on in their recommendation. The outdoor terrace was fully occupied thanks to the balmy weather, so we secured the perfect corner table in the intimate dining room next to the steep stairs going up to another dining area. There was a zinc bar, and the server was cordial and spoke English with ease. We started with a couple of glasses of the effervescent 7€ Verre de Spumante Prosecco and then for our appetizer, shared the 12€ crock of Onion Soup with Gratinee. They don't call it French onion soup because duh, it's France. It was deeply satisfying with the thick layer of gruyere cheese gradually melting into the hearty broth with every spoonful. For his entree, my husband chose the 27€ Roasted Salmon on a bed of vegetables Nicoise with a topping of basil and almond pesto. Very tender and flavorful. I went with the intensely creamy 28€ Shellfish and Crustacean Risotto with Marinière Sauce generously topped with an undersea garden of delights. Now we were perfectly prepared for our Eiffel adventure. FOOD - 5 stars...superb bistro fare, no exceptions AMBIANCE - 5 stars...comfortably intimate SERVICE - 5 stars...the server really took care of us TOTAL - 5 stars...we'd come back even if the tower wasn't nearby

Despite the area being filled with poor quality restaurants, this one surprisingly wasn't a tourist trap. Service was among the friendliest we've had in Paris and the outside terrace was fun, albeit a bit busy with tourists walking past to/from the Eifel tower. They seem to have put their tiny little twists on French bistro classics. The food wasn't flawless, but it sure was tasty!
