New NYC Restaurant Openings in New York City, February 2025 | Eater NY

"A new French restaurant from the Loulou team emphasizes Southern French classics under executive chef Mehjabin Ahmed, offering coq au vin, cassoulet, ratatouille, and beef bourguignon alongside theatrically garnished cocktails such as the Fleur Blanche — made with dry ice, edible glitter, and baby’s breath — and backed by restaurateurs who have partnered with noted local athletes and entrepreneurs." - Emma Orlow

My wife and I are on vacation in NYC and we stumbled into this place waiting for the Village Vanguard show to start and we are so glad we did. From the minute we walked in, everything was top notch. The host seated us right away at the bar even though we didn’t have reservations. Julian, one of the bartenders, took amazing care of us. He gave my wife the excess of a cocktail he had made for a taste test and she loved it so we ordered one. We had the chef’s choice cheese board for an app and shared a NY strip with fries for the main. The steak was cooked perfectly and the beef was great quality. It was seasoned perfectly, not over done to take away from the beef flavor, and it had a great lightly smoked flavor from the grill. There was a sauce on the plate with the steak that gave it a great umami flavor. The fries were so good. Light and crispy, very similar to a McDonald’s type fry, but piping hot and cooked perfectly. They also had an aioli sauce that came with them that was so flavorful and fresh. As we were wrapping up eating our meal, the manager, or owner, came over and let us know dessert and some wine was going to be on him for the delay on our steak. Honestly, we didn’t even notice a huge delay. There was maybe 15 minutes after we finished our cheese board before our steak and fries were sent out. The crème brûlée was fresh, creamy, and light with a perfect flavor. It was a great way to end our meal. The fact that the dessert and wine was comped was a great touch to an already stellar experience. I cannot say enough good things about the staff and the food here. The best meal and service we’ve had in NYC and probably anywhere else. They were also doing a toy drive for their neighborhood and giving toys away to charities. Do not miss this restaurant! If you are in Greenwich Village/West Village, stop in and have one of the best dining experiences of your life!

Google
New spot in a prime West Village location with a really beautiful interior — two floors (though the second floor isn’t always open). We came here for brunch and the food was decent, nothing extraordinary but enjoyable. The vibe and decor are definitely the highlights, super cute and stylish. They also have a nice bar, so it’s a great place to grab a drink and hang out. Worth checking out for the atmosphere!

Google
Beautiful little spot that an old friend and I happened to stumble upon, and were so happy that we did! The service was fantastic, genuinely kind people who wanted to connect. We shared the cheese board, which we both found to be very generous for its price. Both the drinks menu and food looked fantastic and would love to come back to try out some other things. Our server Evelina was so sweet, highly recommend!

Google
rare to find a spot in nyc that feels this warm— not just in the food, but in the people working there. our waiters made the night feel personal, like we were old friends! every dish was flawless, but the wagyu tartare? unreal. crepes for dessert felt like home, cocktails— crafted, not mixed. you can taste the intention in every sip. a place with soul, and that’s rare in nyc, thank you so much, can’t wait to come back again

Google
We dined here for my friends birthday and it was so beyond lovely. They brought us all a champagne toast for the birthday girl! The cocktails are so creative and I loved both the ones I tried. We got little apps for snacking and every one was so delish. The wagyu tartare was AMAZING. Everything was gorgeous inside, down to the glasses. My cocktail came in a seashell and I’m obsessed. I wanna come back here for sure. Our server was so lovely … Estephanie thank you ! Tiff was a lovely host as well and Tristian was a fantastic and friendly bartender. 10/10 birthday celebration thanks to the staff and ambiance!!!

Google
Really this wonderful place is further elevated by its SERVICE. We can’t say enough about Gray—our server—who made us feel at home with our party of 7 visiting from San Francisco. We loved him. He was so attentive and helpful. The food was perfect. The steak frites are a tourist favorite but are exquisite. The upstairs dining is great for private parties and hearing impaired. They even lowered the music volume for my poor mother who is deaf in the ear. Did I mention our server Grey / Gray was an absolute asset? We are so impressed with his attention to detail and fantastic drink and food recs.

Google
First time visiting Le Petit Village and I absolutely loved it. I had been wanting to check it out, and it did not disappoint! The decor and music set the perfect vibe. The host was super friendly, and the bartender who served me was lovely. I had two glasses of rosé and tried the Le Petit Burger—so good! Highly recommend this spot, 100%.

Literally feels like a slice of Paris in NYC. Perfect sidewalk views, gorgeous interior. The service is amazing as well. Patricia was our server and made us feel so warm, welcome and took really good care of us! Possibly best omelette I’ve ever eaten? Wow. I will be coming back for brunch over and over! Also love that you can choose your portion sizes. - very happy customer 😊

Yelp
As others have mentioned, come here for the baked camembert and general ambiance. Steak frites was also delicious, and cocktails are fun (but a bit pricey). Expect to spend a bit over $100+ per person for food and one drink per person.

Yelp
Unfortunately not somewhere I'd recommend or go again. Really really cute vibe and ambiance. Service was good. But the drinks weren't great and the food we had was sub par. I had the smoke in Edinburgh and it was Smokey in all the wrong ways. The cheese plate was giving discount grocery store and the bread service had to be yesterdays rolls. It was very reminiscent of continental breakfast. Overall a sad stop on our way through NYC.

Yelp
Le Petit Village is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and care that instantly made us feel at home. The ambiance is to die for--charming, cozy, and full of old-school flair that makes you want to settle in and stay awhile. The food? Incredible. Fresh, flavorful, and easily one of the best burgers I've ever had--so juicy and perfectly cooked, it's unforgettable. A huge shoutout to Julio at the bar--his drink knowledge and kindness made our experience even better. And the service? Next level. Gilbert, the manager, and our server Miloti went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. I've never felt that much genuine love and attention in a restaurant before. This spot is an experience in itself and absolutely deserves a spot on your must-visit list when you're in the city. I'm already counting down the days until I can go back!

Yelp
Charming little restaurant. Offers happy hour menu. The onion soup was very cheesy and delicious. The branzino came out smoking! The service wasn't super attentive, but it was okay.

Yelp
Nothing too memorable and had higher expectations. Ordered: charcuterie board (2/5) Salad du jabin (1/5) Steak frites (3/5) Truffle Chicken (3/5) Foie gras (3/5) Nothing really stood out as Amazing. Dishes were a bit overpriced for what they offer prob bc of location. There are better French places for sure. Ambience is very loud and could barely hear eachother talk, like a party spot.

Yelp
What a beautiful place to sit outside on a beautiful day! The servers were attentive, but not overbearing. The seafood tower was pretty delicious! The green goddess dressing for the crudités could have used a touch more salt, but the display was so charming! We also got mussels. I recommend getting a side of pomme frites for the broth. As for the cocktails, the attention to detail is astonishing! My only qualm was with the spritz of Le Labo with the petit histoire. The watered down scent didn't add much and felt like an afterthought to what was already an incredible drink. I'm excited to come again!

Yelp
What to give a place when food was a 4 close to 5 stars but service was a 2 if being generous as they did correct there mistakes. Place is new so at moment they are either overstaffed or all the owners were there. They stated it was busier than normal due to a birthday party for what appeared to be a low level model and her friends that was atleast 20 people. None of the issues by themselves was too big but combined made experience not so great. I generously giving 3 as mentioned they in the end rectified the mistakes and food was good enough. Started as table not set for our reservations. Then when brought glasses for water mine had a huge chunk missing that almost cut my lip. Manager stated would comp us another bottle of sparkling which had to remind them of this at end. The busboy then poured tap water into both of our sparkling water glasses though we had a bottle of Saratoga on the table. I ordered boulibase which is a soup without bringing a spoon. At end of meal asked for wine list and given cocktail menu. The food though was very good. Hard to screw up Foie gras but did like the jam and fresh fruit that came with it. The bread on the side was also good. The steak frites came out perfectly medium. The mushrooms could have been more browned like get at steakhouse but then this is a French restaurant so expected more of a cream sauce like a fricasse should be. My bouilibase was fresh tasting with lots of seafood, There wine list is a bit limited with only a few choice per color but then most places more focuses on cocktails. Dessert was solid crème Brullee another dish that is hard to screw up.,

Yelp
Five for food, one for service. The food was very good. The rest of experience was disappointing. The cocktails were mediocre. The wine list is small, mediocre and overpriced. The service was not great. For example, our main courses came while we were still eating our appetizers. The server simply picked up the apps and put down the main courses without asking. There seemed to be only one waitress for the entire restaurant. They definitely need a sommelier and have to improve their wine selection. What is good French food without good wine? Not a great experience. On positive note, room is very nice and vibe is good. Great food is an excellent start, but in Manhattan you need the entire experience. Le Petit Village needs to up its game if they want to make it in this town.

Yelp
The inside of this place, though tight spaced, was absolutely beautiful! It had the nicest dim ambiance and made for a cozy atmosphere. The service was wonderful and everyone was pretty attentive and quick to give recommendations! We kept it simple when going and got their bread service, oysters and drinks and everything tasted great! The Tabasco on the oysters really topped it all off and the drinks were so creative and unique, they were amazing! A fun place to grab some bites and enjoy amazing company and conversations. Upstairs had been a bit toasty on the heat but once you take your jacket off and grab a drink, you're good from there!

Yelp
The service was nice, friendly and attentive. That's where the experience begins and ends. Sadly the food is very expensive, tasteless and poorly prepared. The Shakshouka was not even a 2 on a scale of one to ten. Amateur hour... e sure to miss it!

Yelp
Fantastic service, great ambiance with stellar music and excellent food. The baked Camembert in pastry was divine and the ratatouille was wonderfully presented, and was simple but tasty. The aioli of the pomme frites also had a nice kick. Our server was very thoughtful in providing drink and food recommendations when we weren't sure. The bus people were great about making sure we finished our dishes before clearing, and the hostess had kindly arranged some space for us at the end of the bar when we showed up early. The cocktail was decent. Overall, an excellent experience and I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Solid French joint. Decent but limited menu. Spotty service. But overall good. DEF try the baked camembert - outSTANDing.

Yelp
Absolutely terrible experience. I booked Petite Village weeks in advance for my birthday party with 25 people. When we arrived, they only had seats ready for 16 guests, leaving nearly half of my friends stranded. My friends even had made an additional reservation for an extra table next to ours, but the restaurant gave away their table as soon as they got there. The restaurant then tried setting up another table last-minute in a corner space that we had planned to use for presents, balloons, flowers, and photos. However, once again, another random group was seated there instead of us. This forced my friends to scramble to find another restaurant at 10 PM on a busy Saturday night, ruining our evening. To make matters worse, I had to act as my own server--bringing drinks, handing out empty glasses, moving dishes around, and even rearranging tables myself. The staff was indifferent, distracted, unhelpful, and left us to fend for ourselves. On top of all this, I was in serious pain because something got stuck in my eye. I was literally crying and had to run to the bathroom to fix it. Even though I repeatedly told the staff I needed a moment, they insisted on bringing out my cake anyway. They clearly didn't care about my discomfort at all. I've never experienced such poor customer service and negligence. If you're planning something important, avoid Petite Village at all costs. They've shown they clearly can't handle reservations or basic hospitality. Worst birthday ever

Yelp
Attended a birthday party here. They have a unique space upstairs. Service was attentive. Good place for a more intimate table for two. Hors d'oeurves were tasty.

Yelp
This place provided a perfect late nite bite. Tiffan and Matteo are delightful hosts in this charming dining space. We enjoyed the baked Camembert and foie gras with really yummy drinks. Everything about Le Petit Village is welcoming and delicious. Tres Bien! Merci Beaucoup.

Yelp
Really great happy hour! Aperol Spritz and Fries were a great pairing and service was awesome

Yelp
The ambiance sitting outside, was the perfect way to end the day. The staff was so attentive and knowledgeable. Food was also well done. Can't wait to dine here all summer!

Yelp
We stopped by for brunch the other weekend. The restaurant recently opened in the spot formerly occupied by Baby Brasa, with the interior redesigned to a Parisian cafe vibe. We sat outside, which was ample and offered shade (for our under 1yo). I ordered the Savory Dutch Baby, which was delicious and exceeded my expectations - would definitely recommend. My wife ordered the mushroom omelette, which was also very tasty, but the Dutch Baby wins. I also had the Mezcal roasted pineapple bloody which sounds refreshing, and was very much so. A nice twist on the traditional bloody. Would recommend giving this a try as well. The staff was also super pleasant, and brought out bread and celery stalks for our daughter to nosh on while we ate. We'll definitely come back to try other items on the menu.

Brian X.

Yelp
Food was good, but service was super scammy. The server kept trying to add items that we didn't order. At the end, she tried to charge us for an extra item and applied tip post tax. The vibe was also good, big shame the server kept trying to scam us. Ruined the evening.

Guy D.

Yelp
My husband and I went for lunch on a Wednesday. The hostess was nice and accommodating. Our server was attentive without the attitude of some other French restaurants. The staff acted as if they really cared about their customers. The space, which has seen several restaurants, was nicely furnished. The tables are finished wood with leather around the perimeter. Leather branding abounds. The cutlery inside is covered with leather, as were the drinks menus, all bearing the restaurant's name/logo. all very tasteful. We had sandwiches, wine and cappuccinos. The ham sandwich and the portobello sandwich were delicious. Both sandwiches had mustard spread that is fairly spicy and which added additional depth of flavor. The sandwiches come with greens, which were very lightly dressed. The wine-by-the-glass selection has something for everyone (who drinks wine). The pours were appropriate for the price. We forwent dessert and finished with cappuccinos, that were not too hot and not too cold. .

Yelp
Bad food, mediocre service, absurd prices. The steak was a thick and over cooked. A wheel of cheese for $38!!!! Are you kidding? Place looks really nice. That's the one star. The rest is all show and zero substance.

John P.

Yelp
A very special place within the Village's utter wealth of restaurants. The atmosphere, food, libations, visuals, background music and staff are exactly what you'll want them to be. Call it 7th Ave South on Seine.

Kathleen L.

Yelp
Excellent experience at this local neighborhood gem. Great service and great cocktails made the day so enjoyable! Personalized attention was very nice surprise. Will be back!!

Victoria

Yelp
Terrible service, rude people, after we waited for an hour for service, keep in mind we were treated terribly. We stood up and left; they then continued to chase us out the door screaming at us that we needed to pay 38 DOLLARS FOR WATER. Terrible people. Food was disgusting. I would definitely not recommend.

Cameryn L.

Yelp
Charged us over $31 FOR TAP WATER!!!!!!! Worst establishment service i've been to in NYC. Only sat and received water (which WAS NOT TOUCHED) and had too many gluten and vegan free friends so it didn't work and they chased us out for the $31 for TAP WATER. Absolutely absurd will never ever be back!!!!!!!!!!!

Elizabeth A.

Yelp
Gorgeous space, inventing cocktails, and the food is true to it's French roots. Would definitely recommend for a date, brunch, or small bday party!

Jenny C.

Yelp
True gem in NYC's dining scene. The steak au poivre with frites was insanely good - perfectly cooked, super tender, and sauce was next-level. We also had the fresh pappardelle (my fave), rich sauce, total comfort food. The cocktails were just as impressive: balanced, creative, and seriously delicious, especially their house-made twists on the classics. Trendy yet cozy vibes, great service - we refuse to dine anywhere else.
