This was my first time visiting this location. However, I have been eating the food from here for years thanks to one of my sisters who used to get food from here all the time. I've also eaten a few times at their restaurant in Tysons. I was surprised by how big the shop is and the diverse selection of items. The date cookies, among other middle eastern treats, in the front looked great!
I quickly made my way to the prepared food section. This time I was immediately struck by how high the prices were!! There was no price on the salmon, and I would eventually find out it's $18.99 a pound. Pretty high! I'm guessing that's why it didn't have a price on it.
Even though there was only one other woman at the prepared food section, and there were at least three people working there, it took at least 10-15 minutes for someone to help me. It was crazy!! I was very close to walking out!
I ended up just getting a pound of the curry salad. I absolutely love curry salad, and there aren't a lot of places in the area to get it. I've had it before from here, and it was good. However, as I would discover when I was back at home, this time it was quite watery, and the chunks of chicken were quite large! It definitely didn't go well in a roll!
I know from past experience that the prepared foods are very high-quality and generally very good. So, had I gotten more, I'm sure I would have enjoyed it. I'm sure someday I'll go back. However, due to the service (or lack there of), high prices, and not up-to-to-its-usual-standards curry chicken salad, I probably won't be rushing back.
