Google
Great selection of Middle Eastern foods. This is the deli version of their dine-in restaurant, so it's mostly carry-out, although there are a few tables if you can't wait to get your food home. The service is friendly and helpful. Parking is tough, though ... a small lot on a triangle-shaped corner, so you might have to use street parking. Their "baklava fingers" are awesome!

Google
Honestly loved the food and service. I walked in and said I've never been here before and I got help ordering a great meal!

Google
More market than eatery, bit great for a quick bite. The shawarma was really good, both chicken and beef, as recommended. The people were very friendly and helpful. Dining area is simple and clean, with large windows letting the sun shine in while you rat. The store was laid out nicely and a nice selection of wines and fruit drinks. There was plentiful parking during the holidays, but getting on and put was a little tricky.

A market style outpost of the local favorite. The food options are plentiful and all delicious. Perfect for takeout or dine in. In addition to the prepared foods, the market also has a lot of Lebanese sundries and groceries on offer.

Google
Super fun little market/restaurant with all types of delectable freshly-made and grocery items. There is some seating, but it’s more geared towards takeout. There are large case of mezze items that look absolutely spectacular— I can’t wait to try more.

Google
What a lovely place! The food is delicious and reasonably priced. The service is warm and welcoming. A great spot! Fully recommend.

Google
Our guests and family were deliciously thrilled with LT's Lebanese Easter Family Meal from the time we ordered to reheating and eating! The dinners were generously sized, easy to serve, loved by all, and with plenty available for another meal for four, after eight full meals. Khalil at Tyson's made sure that the extras ordered from the take-out window were available to coincide with our catering order and even took care to make sure that my additional order of pumpkin kibbeh was handy for snacking during the drive home. The only possible way to have made our day any better is if we could have packaged the ambiance, customer service of the LT Tyson's restaurant and staff. Highly recommended for quality, service, value and overall experience!

Google
INCREDIBLE FOOD. I've worked in lebanese fine dining in the past and the food here is on a similar level and definitely exceeded my expectations. We ordered the mezze sampler platter and the rice bowl with the chicken shawarma. The baba ghanoush was my favorite of the mezze we got (hummus, baba, tabooleh) and was amazing with pita and the olive oil they provide for guests in the seating area. I think the only way the mezze could be improved would be toppings such as pomegranate and urfa on the baba ghanoush. Regardless, it's still super delicious and you really can't beat it for the price. The chicken shawarma had such amazing flavor. It was paired with the pickled veggies and toum and all of the flavors were outstanding. The only thing I would complain about was the chicken was a bit dry but honestly the flavors were so good it vastly overshadowed that fact. I would like to say that the parking lot is small but there were enough spots that I don't think you'll have trouble most of the time, but may struggle during peak times. Please do check out this spot, I would highly recommend it! P.S. If you're looking for a great vinaigrette recipe, buy the pomegranate molasses and combine it with salt, pepper, garlic and olive oil for an amazing salad dressing!

Yelp
Must check out this little market on the corner across Pastries by Randolph (best EU pastry shop). This spot has a special kids meal deal for after school, not sharing what it is because you have to come check it out for yourself. They have an abundance of different types of teas in a variety of types of spices, breads, cheeses that are geared towards Lebanese or middle eastern dishes. You have to try their grape leaves. They are so delicious. They beat all the other restaurants anywhere I've ever been before. Their beef sambousick is also a must! Also a speciality for me was finding my childhood candy here. Jols, it's from Australia and even dentists advocate behind it :) i hope they keep importing or selling them!

Yelp
The worse place to buy Lebanese breads and others! I am Lebanese and I thought buying my stuff there will be the best, but unfortunately the first time I bought "manakish" (Homemade dough is topped with za'atar, a spice mixture composed of sesame seeds, oregano, marjoram, and thyme) came with a rotten / moldy! Second time was in Arabic bread and this time the third time was yesterday the bread with dates inside with 4 units came worst (see the pics)! The four were molded! I went back and they gave me my money back! The problem is not the money but the quality of their products and some staffs are very rude especially on the cashier! The only good thing I can say is that the manager was / is very professional person and hard worker! I will never go back there

Nicholas C.

Yelp
Quaint little market that has some really neat items. The food counter is a little difficult to navigate, where you want a bit of everything and end up with a steep bill. This location has stuffed vegetables, which is what they should have done at their Ballston location. Very delicious. Only concern is ordering process and pricing.

Bob A.

Yelp
The service here is HORRIBLE. everyone has a horrible non customer friendly attitude. Pathetic. While the food is good you should avoid this place as the employees have zero idea or knowledge of customer service. Pathetic.

Spenny R.

Yelp
I love the food here but some of the counter staff are so freaking rude. It's too much when the counter staff is checking their watch while you order and then tells you to hold on and then walks away. I order the same things almost every time I come in, so it's not like I was taking a long time to order. Food 5/5 Service 2/5 Hopefully when you come in she will be on her day off.

Malia T.

Yelp
Yum! Stopped in to grab a platter for a late lunch and I wasn't disappointed! I ordered the chicken platter with a side of rice and a salad. Everything was fresh and delicious! It was enough for 1.5 meals so I had some leftovers afterwards. I liked being able to combine everything into the fresh pita they offered with my meal. Also, the inside of the market was so cozy! A few people were in the seating section enjoying sweets and afternoon coffee when I arrived. Felt like your local market to stop in on a rainy afternoon!

Yelp
This place has gone totally downhill. It seems that the Lebanese family that started the company has sold this location to nasty and rude and CHEAP and STINGY non-Lebanese. Perhaps now Chinese owned, and the quality has suffered greatly. Spent $50 and the hummus was bitter, and the shawarma chicken by the pound had BONES in it and was dried out, OLD chicken from days ago. Full of gross water they charge you for! Stuffed grape leaves also are nothing compared to like before--mostly just loosely wrapped leaves with little filling! It's vegetarian, you cheapos! Only had one bag of soft pita on the shelves that was stale with no sell by date. Skip this location and try another location for better food and service. This location stinks now.

Yelp
We have been regular customers for many years. This place makes the best humus. So creamy and delicious. There are great choices to choose from in the case and favorites are the cauliflower, the kibbeh, and the green beans. Everyone likes the chicken shawarma. But today the woman behind the deli counter was so grouchy! It really makes me not want to return. Very impolite. The people used to be so nice and friendly here. I was so disappointed. It will be a while before I go back. Going to try some other places that might appreciate my business.

Jim W.

Yelp
We hadn't been here in such a very long time and today, by accident almost, we stumbled upon it. Small, perhaps moderate, in size and certainly not as busy as could be the case without COVID, this shop is filled with Lebanese treasures like chicken, lamb and beef shawarma. Wines and cheeses to satisfy even the most unsatisfied and arrogant of pallets. Here you'll find the freshest of Mediterranean foods. It wasn't until we were here for a few minutes did it hit me that all those days away from Lebanese Taverna Market were days wasted. Come here and shop and eat and enjoy!

Kait H.

Yelp
One of the very best spots for a quick grab and go meal, or to stock up on dips and spreads. We love their hummus and the containers are so big - worth the stop!

Chrysanthia K.

Yelp
One of my favorite places for an informal lunch or dinner. The food selections are always fresh and tasty. I love this place and have been going for years. I'm just sad that they aren't in Vermont where I live now.

Tamara B.

Yelp
I recently attended a cooking class here. It was so so fun! The owner, Grace, welcomed me warmly. It was an awesome experience. A friendly group of cooking participants and the chef was friendly, funny, and interactive! We had PLENTY to eat and drink, including apps that the market put out and wine! What a fun night with great people. I would recommend this place to anyone. They sell authentic and delicious food!!! Get the salmon! It's all fresh.

Candace F.

Yelp
This was my first time visiting this location. However, I have been eating the food from here for years thanks to one of my sisters who used to get food from here all the time. I've also eaten a few times at their restaurant in Tysons. I was surprised by how big the shop is and the diverse selection of items. The date cookies, among other middle eastern treats, in the front looked great! I quickly made my way to the prepared food section. This time I was immediately struck by how high the prices were!! There was no price on the salmon, and I would eventually find out it's $18.99 a pound. Pretty high! I'm guessing that's why it didn't have a price on it. Even though there was only one other woman at the prepared food section, and there were at least three people working there, it took at least 10-15 minutes for someone to help me. It was crazy!! I was very close to walking out! I ended up just getting a pound of the curry salad. I absolutely love curry salad, and there aren't a lot of places in the area to get it. I've had it before from here, and it was good. However, as I would discover when I was back at home, this time it was quite watery, and the chunks of chicken were quite large! It definitely didn't go well in a roll! I know from past experience that the prepared foods are very high-quality and generally very good. So, had I gotten more, I'm sure I would have enjoyed it. I'm sure someday I'll go back. However, due to the service (or lack there of), high prices, and not up-to-to-its-usual-standards curry chicken salad, I probably won't be rushing back.

Ahmed A.

Yelp
websites showed they were open so went with family for a meal and found it swarming with worker drilling the floor and restaurant was closed. No mention what so ever and total disregard for customers.

Paula S.

Yelp
I've been to the market twice at this point, to participate in cooking classes. The classes are fun and the food is soo good. The most recent class I took had falafel on the menu, which my brother loves. I must say, after this class I'm now a fan of falafel. The great thing is that they also give you the recipes for everything on the menu...the only thing is that the recipes aren't exactly complete, but pens are provided for you to write in notes. The teacher also provides tips on knife skills and other cooking skills. Also, as a tip, you can organize a private class if you have a group of 10 or more people.

Roxi V.

Yelp
Admittedly, I haven't been back in a few years but was in the area and decided to get lunch. I just got back and I am shocked by how much has changed. The once delicious sandwiches are now bland and have absolutely no toppings. This was an absolute waste of $25 for two sandwiches and a few sauces. I seriously just keep looking at the sandwiches and shaking my head in disbelief. I will never be coming back.

Georges H.

Yelp
A lot of their food is now tasteless and the inexperienced staff behind the counter have no idea what you were ordering you better call the place Mac taverna put pictures with numbers it would be easier on your inexperienced staff .

Alex G.

Yelp
Overpriced and very miserly. Was in the area for meetings and we went in for a meal - ordered the chicken kabob - price ~$10 for literally *3* pieces of kabob on some rice and they want to charge 50c each for a little side of sauce (!!). Was next door again later that day - thought maybe I got a bad order - came back and ordered their "Chicken Shwarma" bowl - got a small handful of tiny, total shredded, remaining bits of chicken on a bunch of rice - I even asked to make sure that this was the "shwarma" - they said this is how they serve it. I ended up telling them to take it back and went across the street to one of the other 10 great restaurants within 200ft. Not coming back again - totally ridiculous.

Aaron W.

Yelp
Have been coming here since I was a freshman in high school back in 2011 and the food has stayed consistently amazing and brings back a bite full of nostalgia every time as well as having a unique and full bodied wine section.

Yousef S.

Yelp
I have been enjoying the Lebanese Taverna food for close to 30 years , the quality of the food is superb , tasty and fresh , however ; the staff is not so friendly they lack the proper customer service training, tables are dirty while staff are playing games on their phone and engaging in other activities .

Bobbie A.

Yelp
I really used to love this place but unfortunately the quality of the food at this particular store has gone down tremendously. I ordered the rice bowl today and it was loaded with so much garlic I am just sick thinking about it. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Thanks

Nick R.

Yelp
I think the food has gone downhill somewhat but is still pretty good. I agree with others that the prices seem high and feel like it is a bit of a racket that even though you might serve yourself -- have had nothing to do with cooks or servers -- you are offered a receipt to sign with a tip line. If I got great service, OK. But if I picked out a couple of items on my own and took them to the register, not so much. I don't / can't leave a tip at Harris Teeter or Trader Joe's even though I sometimes get great service.

Alice G.

Yelp
I loved their food and was very pleased with the quality. Also the market had many things I like to take home. Their hummus and baba ghanoush was the real deal!!Next time I will buy large containers. I had the beef shawarma salad and my daughter had the falafel salad. Both were delicious and the tahini and garlic dressing were also very good. It's going to be a regular place for us to go to now. I can't wait to try all the different dishes they serve!

Joey H.

Yelp
The food was a bit above average but not worth that far above average price. I've had smaller bills at delicious bar and grills in the city. When they rang me up I was actually shocked at the price and considered just walking away, but decided I was too hungry. It's food is nothing I'd go out of my way for, but the staff, oh my.. I have been to many Mcdonalds back in my fast food days that had service like 5 star hotels in comparison to this place. I have never encountered such unhelpful, inattentive, and rude staff in my entire life. I would rehire or at least retrain the entire staff. I will not be returning to this place as I do not support poor and sloppy business practices. You can keep the food the same but lower those prices a bit and get a staff that isn't useless. I hope to one day hear that this business has improved itself. Until then, best of luck in your endeavors

Kerry H.

Yelp
The food was average. My friends and I came for dinner. The menu was large so you have a breadth of options to choose from. The seasoning wasn't super strong. You get a average portion of food.

West G.

Yelp
I am very impressed with Lebanese Taverna Market! For my condo's holiday party, we decided to cater from Lebanese Taverna, and we are very happy that we did. Both the food and customer service were excellent! Many people at the holiday party commented to me about how good the food was. I believe the customer service was even better. A gentleman named Pedro took the time to discuss my condo's food preferences and budget, and he helped me put together a menu that provided enough food for 40-45 people. As more and more RSVP's came in for the party, I contacted Pedro to update the order, and he was happy and willing to accommodate. Also, he helped me pack my car with all the food. Finally, the store is quite large and has many interesting options. I will certainly return for my own personal shopping, and my condo will definitely order catered food from this location again.

Tarek M.

Yelp
I eat today in this place beef shawarma the bread was cold and not Arabic bread the eggplant not Tasted customer service was very very bad never back again

Tsuru J.

Yelp
I have been to the actual Tavernas a few times and this is a very different experience. It's like a deli and there are some interesting choices. If you are vegetarian, there is some option to get a plate at like $10.99 per lb but when things are like $7.99 per lb max you are just better off getting two or three things in small containers anyway. The mousaka (which is nothing like the Greek version- at all) is amazing. So is the arnabeet (cauliflower). I got an arnabeet pita because we were with a friend on a plant based diet with whom I wanted to share and I was pleasantly surprised at just how good it was. The stuffed grape leaves were great too. This is definitely worth a stop to stock up on a bunch of great Lebanese deli items. The staff are friendly (ish) and the prices are pretty good for the quality you get.

Carolyn B.

Yelp
This place should be considered a landmark in Arlington. It's been around since I was a wee child. I had never been inside but it's a gem. Their food is great. Delicious. Quick. Good service. Vegetarian Selection. A lot of pluses. They also have a little market area that has some European goods, wines, wide selection of interesting tea, cookies, Lebanese snacks, cookies, and so much more. OLIVES! type of salad bar that i believe was $5.99/lb but I am not 100% on that. Check it out if you have never been. You know it's been there forever so it's one of those places that you should try out at least once. I don't think you would walk away disappointed.

Catherine M.

Yelp
This place rocks!! I've always been a fan of the sit down restaurants but was excited I could still get some of my favorite items at the market. While they may not have all my favorites, their chicken swarma salad was amazing and fresh and their lentil soup was to die for! I got some spicy hommos and baba ganoush to take home and the hommos was a hit. It was a different spiciness I've never experienced in a hummus. I will definitely be sure to make this my to go spot.

Michael R.

Yelp
The food is fantastic. Let's get that out of the way first. The service staff is legitimately bad at their jobs. I live across the street and call in orders regularly. I have yet to have the food ACTUALLY be what I ordered. If you order a falafel salad you will get a falafel sandwich. If you order a lamb kabob sandwich, you will get a kabob salad. And those are the cases where you get some semblance of what you've ordered. You can be guaranteed the communication between the people taking the orders and the SLOW kitchen staff will be bungled. It isn't a "chance", it's a guarantee. I'd like to be able to say this problem just occasionally happens, but after a year of living in the neighborhood and ordering fairly regularly I can't. It is actually every time I have called. They fix this problem and it'd be a great experience.

A D.

Yelp
Excellent food a vegetarians delight Deli style selection as opposed to sit-down is awesome The manager, Pedro, is tops. I was late in arriving and he still had my food ready. Thank you!

Homayon K.

Yelp
I Love LT market. Great food and awesome staff! I'm a former employee and now a customer. The food is amazing, healthy and fresh. The staff are super friendly. You can purchase hummus, baba ghanough, tabulleh, avocado salad and much more by the weight. They offer a pretty cool wine selection as well as imported beers. Try the chicken shawarma, beef shawarma, falafel sandwich or their Mezza plater with some extra garlic sauce! Mouth wash in the bathroom so no worries! Check it out, I highly recommend this place!

Rob H.

Yelp
Lebanese Taverna Market is one of my favorite places to go for lunch in Arlington. I usually get a Chicken Shawarma platter which comes with two sides. I like getting the rice and hummus as my two sides. The Shawarma is always amazing, and the hummus is so good it makes grocery store hummus seem flavorless. The cheese Fatayers and Grape Leaves are also some of my favorites from the deli counter. The market is also great if you need to bring an appetizer to a party. They sell their hummus in plastic jars along with pita and crackers. I've had the Tahini, Baba Ghanoush, Spicy Hummus and regular Hummus. The Spicy Hummus is definitely my favorite of the four. People are always excited when I tell them I'm going to stop by Lebanese Taverna Market to pick up appetizers before a gathering.

Morgan S.

Yelp
This place is great. I live right across the street and love the convenience. I always get the chicken shawarma with extra garlic sauce on the side. It's awesome, but it'll leave your breath smelling raunchy after you eat it. Worth every bite. They also have really great spicy hommos here that's the perfect mixture of hummus and spice. It's great to come here and grab food real quick if you're in a hurry. The parking lot can be a little difficult, but hey, at least it has parking. 10/10 recommend.

Vishal S.

Yelp
Great selection of Lebanese grocery and food items. Have shopped here plenty of times and have even enjoyed their food offerings in the cafe too. Love the cafe atmosphere and staff is very friendly and helpful. Have had to take their advise on numerous occasions and they have always steered me in the right direction! Lines can be sometimes long specially on weekends.

Becky T.

Yelp
This is my favorite Leb Taverna location. I love the market set up, it's a great place to shop for Lebanese food to take home! I would say this is much more of a take out location if you do order food here, although they do have seating available. The parking lot is a bit of a pain.

Surya J.

Yelp
This is one of the original locations of the chain. It is a market cum prepared foods place. The staff are friendly and helpful. The market has many items of Middle Eastern foods, lots of different breads, pickled vegetables etc. The prices seemed reasonable. The prepared foods sections sells rotisserie chicken, sandwiches and different mezze. We had the whole chicken with two sides. This was enough for more than two people. There is parking.

June W.

Yelp
I've eaten at the Lebanese Taverna on Lee Hwy countless times over countless years. I know they've changed management--I just didn't realize how many times and how awful it has gotten. Stopped by (which as it happens will be my LAST trip there) around 5pm to order food for my young family. The staff couldn't have been more unhelpful behind the counter. Tried to order a whole chicken, "no we don't have". Ok... how about a chicken shawarma? "no" until a guy I've recognized in the last few years piped up and said yes he could make it. This is a place you order and receive food at, right? The women behind the counter are snarly, rude and the phrase service with a smile has clearly missed them. Uh, no thanks. Food wasn't even that great!! Who are they kidding?! With that kind of service and meh food, I will not be returning. Maybe on the next turn of management I'll be back. Much prefer the Lebanese Taverna restaurant in Westover.

D. R.

Yelp
The Baskin Robbins of nutritious dishes. Pick you dish; any dish; any size. Take it home! Comes in convenient containers for refridgeration: eat some now and save some for later! I love this place! A roller coaster for my taste buds! A true culinary adventure!

Claire Y.

Yelp
Lebanese Taverna Market: A Haiku Delicious shwar-ma Why do you sell linzer torte? Surly, grumpy staff

Jamie M.

Yelp
My favorite part of going to the Lebanese Taverna restaurant is the hummus and delicious hot pita. I thought maybe if I picked up some hummus and pita from their market I could recreate the experience at home. After adding some EVOO and garlic to the hummus at home it was okay, but just not the same as going to the restaurant. This store has a small parking lot, but at around 11 on a Saturday there was only one other car parked there. They do have a small deli counter for sandwiches but I didn't scope it out since I was just here for the hummus and pita. Like Derrick L. said, they don't make their own pita (I think the ones I bought were made in PA?), kind of curious if they make their own in the restaurant now. I was a little disappointed that my little experiment didn't turn out as good as I hoped, but it's still a nice store with a good variety of stuff and the employees were all very friendly. It's close to Crisp & Juicy and Pastries by Randolph so you can hit all three places at once if you're so motivated.

Sean C.

Yelp
In a way this review is unfair. I'm writing it late. I have been here several times and neglected to write a review. I really do like Lebanese Taverna Market. Their hummus, babaganouj and kibbeh are excellent, but this weekend I found a place I like better - Tarbouch on Lee Highway. The two are different in the sense that this is a market and has other things besides the prepared food that you may need, including a selection of middle eastern wines. Their prices are a little high as others have mentioned, but not unreasonable.

K S.

Yelp
Gotta say I was a little disappointed by the beef shawarma sandwich I got for dinner here this evening. The meat, while flavorful, tasted pretty dry (like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for a while - which, I think, it had), and the pita was too crunchy at the edges for my taste (YMMV). The only toppings were lettuce, a slice of tomato, and tzaziki sauce (which was, admittedly, top-notch). For the money, I think Astor Mediterranean probably does a better sandwich (at least in the evening), since everything there is cooked to order instead of in batches. However, love the market itself, and frequently stop in for the delicious hummus and tabbouleh by the pound - nothing at the grocery store comes close.

Bella B.

Yelp
This family owned place has gotten worse over the years. While I love their spinach pies, hummus, arnabeet, etc..., their service and food overall is not as good as it used to be. My main complaints are around: A) Falafal sandwiches. Bread is too thick, they put radishes instead of turnips, FALAFAL's ARE DRY. If you know anything about lebanese food, then you should know falafals should not be dry and hard. B) Food to price ratio. All they know to do is skimp you on bread/tahini/sauces when you don't explicitely ask for it. I know it's a bad economy but with those high prices, I expect the whole package. Go to Rouche in Falls Church if you can, their food is good and they don't skimp you just because they are now suddenly popular. The lebanese tavernas are pushing out their lebanese customers for the average American that doesn't know any better about fine lebanese cuisine.

Jean D.

Yelp
Chicken shwarma Pita stale, chicken dry, service unfriendly. Garlic sauce the best.

Kathryn M.

Yelp
Great for takeout, not so impressive for eat-in. There is a large bar full of mezzas to choose from and you can order shish sandwiches at the other end of the deli counter. I will probably go for the sandwiches next time instead of the mezza bar. There is an interesting market of Lebanese cooking products and some sweets. Had lunch with a friend and the food was OK, definitely not worth seeking out but a good place to stop by to pick up a few snacks for the house. The prices are a bit high for the products your getting but you get a lot of food so it might be worth it. The baklava from the market was the most disappointing though so definitely don't bother with any of the various kinds - they all appeared equally dry.

Clara L.

Yelp
My friend's bridal shower took place here, so we all signed up for a cooking class in the downstairs section. The instructor (I forget his name) was very nice, helpful and entertaining, since he shared anecdotes of his own or from cooking classes he's taught. The class itself wasn't too hands on, but it was a nice setting for a bridal shower (it was easy to talk to one another). The food we were served for dinner was probably not what we made (it looked nicer! haha) but all was quite delicious. I am intrigued by the items available in the market. I think I'll have to check it out on my own (sans bridal shower) sometime in the future :)

When I was going to school at Marymount, this was my favorite place. They have the best hummus in the world and the rest of the food is great. The staff is really friendly and the prices aren't bad either. The only draw-back is the tiny, dangerous parking lot. I think the saddest part about moving to Alexandria was that I was moving away from their chicken shawarma.
