Lively Vietnamese eatery known for its banh mi sandwiches serving dishes such as pho & spring rolls.
"This Buford Highway staple has been serving up some of the best Vietnamese food in the city since 2006. Ordering one of their legendary bánh mì sandwiches is a must. And when paired with their amazing pho, it's the soup and sandwich equivalent of nabbing the Park Place and Boardwalk properties (big boss moves). The giant bowl full of salty beef broth has bits of tender steak and brisket, onions, cilantro, and scallions floating near the top. The casual dining room lined with floor-to-ceiling windows is usually busy but somehow always relaxed. So a nice sun-drench seat by the window and a bowl of pho will leave you feeling cozier than a fireplace on a winter's day." - juli horsford
"This Buford Highway staple, sitting between a Chevron and a coin laundry business, serves up some of the best Vietnamese food in the city. What they’re really known for are their bánh mì sandwiches. Eight options, including fish, tofu, and eggs (scrambled or fried), means multiple trips to Lee’s is necessary to try them all. But the grilled pork topped with cucumbers, carrots, and mayo is our favorite and the most popular order here. Their bread (with just the right amount of crunch) is the standout. And when we're finished with our sandwich, we often buy a few loaves from the bread bin to help lessen our separation anxiety. So far, we’ve been unsuccessful in our attempts to recreate their bánh mì masterpieces at home, which just means more trips to Lee’s is in our future. " - juli horsford, nina reeder
"An old standby, and some might argue the best banh mi in town, Lee’s Bakery has long been a top destination on Buford Highway. Lee’s combo special (your choice of beef, seafood, or vegan pho and any half banh mi) is the way to go for first timers. But on your many subsequent visits, you’ll want to dig deeper into the traditional Vietnamese menu. The house made baguettes really set this place apart from other pho joints, and while the dining room is typically busy, service is fast and friendly. Authentic, inexpensive, and always delicious. Plus, you can roll out with three fresh baguettes for $1. Win." - Field UX
"Famous for its pho at breakfast and Vietnamese sandwiches throughout the day, Lee’s Bakery bakes its bánh mìs (a short baguette), on site. People will find a tub of these baguettes for individual sale by the front door of restaurant, too. It’s not unusual to see folks popping by in the morning to grab a handful of baguettes for home." - Kris Martins
"For those who frequent the restaurants along Buford Highway, Lee’s Bakery is a beloved staple for pho. This Atlanta institution is where to head to for steaming bowls of pho at 8 a.m. as well as bánh mì deals. Try the bakery’s dac biet with ham, pork head cheese, and pork liver or the bánh mì cá made with fish cakes. Get the wings here, too, and make sure to grab a day-old dollar baguette before leaving." - Eater Staff
